Therefore there is no human condition to meet (works) in regards to our salvation! Yeshua has given us a NEW relationship in regards to the law (Torah); one of life and not death. 2 Why? Because the Torah of the Spirit, which produces this life in union with Messiah Yeshua, has set me free from the "Torah" of sin and death. The second law in this verse, the law of sin and death, may be the Mosaic law, since Paul in chapter 7 has shown how the law was used by sin to bring death. But law of sin in 7:23 is not the Mosaic law, but a rhetorical counterpart to G-d s law. So here also the law of sin and death is probably the power of sin, leading to death, that holds people in its sway. 3 3 4 so that the just requirement (δικαίωμα dikaioma) of the Torah might be fulfilled in us who do not run our lives according to what our old nature wants but according to what the Spirit wants. requirement - δικαίωμα dikaioma this is singular although an older version of the NIV translation stated requirements which is plural. This difference now appears changed in later versions on the NIV translation. G-d gave us many statues in the Torah (law), so why did Rabbi Sh aul (Paul) use the singular? Hint: What did the Torah require? 5 For those who identify with their old nature set their minds on the things of the old nature, but those who identify with the Spirit (πνεῦμα pneuma) set their minds on the things of the Spirit (πνεῦμα pneuma). Spirit Strong s #4151 πνεῦμα pneuma {pnyoo'-mah} Meaning: wind, spirit Origin: from 4154 Usage: breath(3), Spirit(239), spirit(103), spirits(32), spiritual(1), wind(1), winds(1). 6 Having one's mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one's mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom (peace). shalom - Strong s # 1515 Origin: of unc. der., perh. from ειρω eiro (to join): lit. or fig. peace, by impl. welfare Usage: peace(90), undisturbed*(1). Note that shalom (peace) is not in having shalom (peace) with mankind but with G-d! 7 For the mind controlled by the old nature is hostile to G-d, because it does not submit itself to G-d's Torah- indeed, it cannot. How is a mind controlled by the old nature? Why is obedience so important to G-d? Luke But He said, "Far more blessed are those who hear the word of G-d and obey it!" 8 Thus, those who identify with their old nature cannot please G-d. Ephesians 2 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 4 9 But you, you do not identify with your old nature but with the Spirit- provided the Spirit of G-d is living inside you, for anyone who doesn't have the Spirit of the Messiah doesn't belong to him. Yochanan (John) 3 6 What is born from the flesh is flesh, and what is born from the Spirit is spirit. 7 Stop being amazed at my telling you that you must be born again from above! 8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but you don't know where it comes from or where it's going. Why does the Scriptures refer to Lot, Iyov (Job), and ourselves as righteous when we, at times, commit unrighteous deeds? Yechezek el (Ezekiel) even if these three men were in it Noach, Dani el and Iyov (Job) they would by their righteousness save only themselves, says ADONAI ELOHIM. 2 Kefa (Peter) 2 7 but He rescued Lot, a righteous man who was distressed by the debauchery of those unprincipled people; How did these men obtain their righteousness? Ref: Ya akov (James) 2:23 11 And if the Spirit of the One who raised Yeshua from the dead is living in you, then the One who raised the Messiah Yeshua from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you. Why is Rabbi Sha ul (Paul) now talking about us being mortal and dying? 4

5 12 So then, brothers, we don't owe a thing to our old nature that would require us to live according to our old nature. 13 For if you live according to your old nature, you will certainly die; but if, by the Spirit, you keep putting to death the practices of the body, you will live. 2 Corinthians 3 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Ephesians 1 13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 4 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of G-d, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
