Re-writing my story My Book of Adventures in Faith In this Lesson, we want to take stock of where we are today, map out where we want to go and take the first step on that journey. We also want to start to rewrite our story. 1. Drawing a line between your past and your future Enough! Stop the drama! If you can t, remove yourself from a toxic environment. So, your life may have been filled with drama. There comes a time when we need to put a stop to all that drama. Abram was called to go to a land that God would show him. He went, but he took Lot with him. Lot was a constant source of drama for Abram. In Gen 13, it had become too much and Abram had to put a stop to it. Taking Lot with him was a past decision Abram made that haunted him all of his journey. He needed to put to an end to the incessant noise.

2 To draw a line between your past and your future: You need to take stock and evaluate. What is that constant noise you hear that you can t seem to shake? That noise that seems to stand between you and God s voice. Relationships Habits Reasonings & thought patterns Procrastination Once identified, draw a line in the sand and say Enough! No More! Gen 13:7-12 (NKJV) 7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land. 8 So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left." 10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. 12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. Why we need to stop the drama You need to protect your heart. Your heart is where your vision, dreams, drive flow from. It is where the fire of life burns within you. You need to make sure that the drama of life does not snuff out the seed/dream God gave you. Pro 4:23 (NKJV) 23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Pro 4:23 (AMPC) 23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

3 Mar 4:3 (NKJV) 3 "Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. Mar 4:7-8 (NKJV) 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred." Mar 4:13 (NKJV) 13 And He said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? Mar 4:18-19 (NKJV) 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 2. Creating an environment where dreams grow, and visions thrive Find your Secret Place Psa 91:1 (NKJV) 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psa 31:19-20 (NKJV) 19 Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! 20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.

4 The secret place Is the place of prayer Is where God speaks to you and gives you a blueprint to work with. Mat 6:6 (NKJV) 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Jer 33:3 (NKJV) 3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' Thriving in the midst of chaos and opposition What if you cannot separate yourself from a toxic environment? Then learn to go early into your secret place. Mar 1:32-35 (NKJV) 32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Because even in the midst of tumult, you can find the Lord s presence and experience peace, and enjoy God s direction. Peace, quietness, stillness is absolutely critical to finding direction, innovating and executing. You can find this in your secret place of fellowship and prayer Psa 23:1-6 (NKJV) 1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Other translations of Psalms 23, verse 2: (AMPC) He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. (NASB) He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. (NLT) He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. Think big, dream large Get with God so that you can see clearly Gen 13:14 (NKJV) 14 And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward, southward, eastward, and westward; God s thoughts for you are way bigger than what you can imagine. Eph 3:20 (KJV) 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph 3:20 (MSG) 20 God can do anything, you know far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Eph 3:20 (AMPC) 20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-- Gen 13:14-16 (NKJV) 14 And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward, southward, eastward, and westward;

6 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. So, in God s presence, Think, imagine, and pray. Then start to write down. Have your own journal. Write down in detail what you desire. Do not think small, think big. 7 The spirit, soul, body principle [Image 1] 1Th 5:23 (NKJV) 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are a spirit, you live in a body and you have a soul. Your inner man is comprised of both your human spirit and your soul. They are both immaterial but function differently. Downloading from God. The Inner Man Eph 3:16 (KJV) 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

8 The Human Spirit - Your Knower God communicates directly with your spirit (not your mind). When God shows you great and mighty things you don t know, He deposits them in your spirit. Jer 33:3 (NKJV) 3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' The Human Soul - Your laboratory Mind Imagination Will Intellect/Reasoning Emotions God s communication can then flow to your soul where you think, imagine, and decide what to do. The Human Mind The believer ought to have a sound mind. 2Ti 1:7 (KJV) 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Greek for Sound mind is sōphronismos (pronounced so-fron-is-mos ) It means Self- discipline, sobriety, sound mind, sound judgment; self control 2Ti 1:7 (AMPC) 7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. Power and Love is downloaded into the human spirit but strategizing and execution is from the mind (soul realm)

9 Agitations of the mind 1Pe 3:6 (KJV) 6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. 1Pe 3:6 (AMPC) 6 It was thus that Sarah obeyed Abraham [following his guidance and acknowledging his headship over her by] calling him lord (master, leader, authority). And you are now her true daughters if you do right and let nothing terrify you [not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve you]. Married women 1Pe 3:1-4 (NKJV) 1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. 3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. Quiet Greek word hēsuchios (pronounced hay-soo'-khee-os) It means still (undisturbed, undisturbing): - peaceable, quiet. Antonym: fierce; Violent. 1Pe 3:4 (AMPC) 4 But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of God. FOCUS! Put away distractions. Women tend to have a lot of emotional distractions Keep your mind clutter and strife free. Recap Your spirit man downloads God s will and purpose and power to accomplish Your mind starts to devise, strategize, problem-solve and plan Your body sets out to accomplish, but the Lord directs your steps. Pro 16:9 (AMPC) 9 A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Pro 16:1 (NKJV) 1 The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. Exploring the possibilities Imagination It is affected by what we know, things we have experienced Therefore your soul realm and past experiences can be a strong barrier to what God can do in your life. If you have never experienced it before or never known someone who has, you might be inclined to believe that what you are dreaming off is not possible. Gen 11:6 (KJV) 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

11 Gen 11:6 (AMPC) 6 And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them. But you have to REACH & str-e-t-c-ch! God told Abram to get up and walk in his dream. Gen 13:17 (NKJV) 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you." Do it by Faith Heb 11:1 (NKJV) 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. HOPE is defined as: A desire of some good, accompanied with at least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that it is obtainable. Hope differs from wish and desire in this, that it implies some expectation of obtaining the good desired, or the possibility of possessing it. Hope therefore always gives pleasure or joy; whereas wish and desire may produce or be accompanied with pain and anxiety. MY EVIDENCE Evidence is defined as that which elucidates and enables the mind to see truth; proof arising from our own perceptions by the senses, or from the testimony of others, or from inductions of reason. To Map: Get closer to your dream. Travel expands the imagination Identify someone who has something very similar to what you have and move as close a possible to that person If you can t travel, go on the internet and browse. - take pictures or screenshots of what you dream of.

12 Taking the first step THE PRINCIPLE OF THE SEED TAKE THE FIRST STEP 2Ki 4:1-2 (NKJV) 1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves." 2 So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil." Has nothing That is a lie of the devil Every dream has seed. God has not left you without seed. Gen 1:28 (NKJV) 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." How God works Mat 13:31-32 (NKJV) 31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches." The Parable of the Seed Growing Mar 4:26-29 (NKJV) 26 And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." The Parable of the Mustard Seed Mar 4:30-32 (NKJV) 30 Then He said, "To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?

13 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade." It is a concept that you must master. Never despise something that has the potential to completely turn your life around - no matter how little or insignificant it looks. Zec 4:10 (NKJV) 10 For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth." So, what is your seed? You already have it You don t need to pay for it - that was God s gift to you for your prosperity Seed can be: Time Resources Talent Connection Certification Intellect, etc. TAKE THE FIRST STEP 2Ki 4:2-7 (NKJV) 2 So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil." 3 Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones." 5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."
