He saw one beautiful butterfly and he tried to catch the butterfly. The butterfly escaped from him. But he followed the butterfly. The beautiful butterfly went to the dangerous forest. Raju also went to the dangerous forest. He slowly walked. He stood on one stick. It broke and one lion heard that sound and it got up and roared. Raju heard the sound. Raju found it very difficult to escape from the forest, and the lion came near Raju. It was difficult for Raju to escape from the lion. That time the beautiful butterfly came there and called more insects and the insects bit the lion. The lion ran from the area. Raju said thanks to the beautiful butterfly and insects, and Raju came out from the forest. 4 M. P. Udhaya Kumar Class IX

11 FUEL CONSERVATION NAME: M.MANO RANJITHAM CLASS: VII B WHY WHOULD I CONSERVE FUEL AND HOW? INTRODUCTION: Fuel plays a vital role in our day today life. It is used in wide range. Here I will discuss about the conservation of fuel. Thus the following details show the importance of fuel conservation. CONSERVATION OF FUEL WHY? The conservation of fuel is necessary for the survival of human being in the earth. Fuel is one of the non-renewable sources. A non-renewable resource is a natural resource which cannot be produced, grown, generated o used on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate. These resources often exist in a fixed amount or are consumed much faster than nature can create them. Some Example of fuels are coal, natural gas, wood etc. Human beings are very eager to destroy the nature. From the nature we can get everything. FUEL CONSERVATION HOW? We should save nature for the sake of our future generation. It gives life for our generation. The nature is the only source that gives fuel for the human being. By using adequate amount of fuel. This will lead to the conservation of fuel. By planting trees, we would conserve fuel. By the controlled use of natural gas, coal, petroleum etc. By these ways we could conserve fuel. CONCLUSION: Every person in the world had a duty to save the nature. So I would take the steps to save the nature by conserving fuel and also make my surrounding to conserve the fuel. It use save nature, the nature will save us. WITH NATURE EVERYTHING WITH YOU WITHOUT NATURE NOTHING WITH YOU Riddles By G. Mounika Class IV 1. I am a white horse with green tail. Who am I? Raddish 2. When you say anna we don t touch each other, When you say brother we touch each other Who are we? Lips 3. If you break me, I will laugh with tears, who am I? Coconut 4. I am a green box with white pearls in it. W ho am I? Ladies finger 11
12 Twins Twins are two offspring produced by the same pregnancy Twins can occur in two ways. In around a third of cases just one egg is fertilized but within days it splits, each half developing into an identical baby. In the remaining two-thirds, two eggs are released at the same time and both fertilized by separate sperm resulting in two non-identical babies. Interesting facts about twins: Identical twins share the same DNA but do not have the same fingerprints. About 1 in 250 pregnancies results in identical twins. 22 % percent of twins are left handed, compared to 10% in singletons. 40% of twins invent their own language. The average birth weight for a twin is 2.26 kg. Some twins are mirror images of each other. Fraternal twin girls have twice the chance of giving birth to twins than singletons. Nigeria has the highest rate of multiple births and more identical twins China has the lowest rate for multiple births averaging 1 in 300. Kodinhi, Kerala is noted for having a high twinning rate, although India has one of the lowest twinning rates in the world For polar bears, twins aren t unusual at all. In fact, they most commonly give birth to twins, and rarely deliver single cubs or triplets. Famous twins in sports: Mark and Steve Waugh Cricketers Chris and Brad Scott - AFL players Brett and Josh Morris - Rugby players Anthony and Saia Faingaa - rugby players Adam and Joel Griffiths - Footballers Darryl and Shane Wakelin - AFL players Horace and Harvey Grant Basket ballers Stephen and Matthew Febey - AFL players Phil and Tracey Neville - Footballers Bob and Mike Bryan Tennis players 12

14 POPULAR SUPERSTITIONS By S. Pavithra English teacher Look how the World s poor people are amazed at apparitions, signs, and prodigies-william Shakespeare. A superstition is an irrational fear of what is unknown or mysterious.it is founded on ignorance and illiteracy. People all over the world seem to have superstitions. Certain hours are believed to be auspicious and certain hours in auspicious. Charms and amulets are worn as protection against evil spirits. A come in sky is believed to herald the death of a great person. The hooting of an owl is supposed ominous and so is the whining of the dog in the dead of night. Way To Live By K. Aswini Teacher Avoid negative thinking Believe in yourself Consider things from every angle Don't give up at any chance Enjoy life today Family and friends are important Give more than you plan Hang with your dreams Ignore those who discourage you Justify your sins Keep on trying Love everyone Make things easier Never lie, cheat, steal Open your eyes and realize everything Practice makes everyone perfect Quitters never win, winners never quit Read and learn about everything Stop postponing Take control of your own Understand yourself to know others Visualize positive things Where there is a will there is a way X-(a)ccelerate your effort You are the best Zest is must It is considered in auspicious to travel towards the north on Tuesday and Wednesdays and towards the south on Thursdays. Some persons do not pay or lend money on Tuesdays and Fridays; they fear that they will be reduced to poverty if they do. Sneezing is regarded as a bad omen; if anybody sneezes before a journey is to be begun or some important work is to be started, it is postponed. If a cat crosses the way when a person is proceeding or important business, he fears that he will not succeed. In many European countries number 13 is considered unlucky, and so many hotels do not contain rooms numbered 13. They believe that if 13 people sit at a dining table, one of them will die in a few days. It is unfortunate that superstitions still persist in spite of the advance men of science. All superstitions are obviously baseless and absurd and prevent us for making progress in life. Man is a rational being. He should not allow the clear stream of reason to lose its way into the dreary desert to superstitions. 14
