MESSIANIC PESACH HAGADDAH 1

SANCTIFY THE FEAST Let us pray and set apart this time for YHVH s Festival of Freedom, Pesach! LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES While not traditionally candles are lit to give light and are used in the Feasts. In the beginning of The Torah we find that,... And G-d said, Let there be light : and there was light. Genesis 1:3 Later, in Exodus 35:14, YHVH, Who is The Light-giver, instructed the His People, The Children of Israel, to construct a menorah to light the Holy Place within The Tabernacle. Therefore, we see light in creation, as well as in consecration before YHVH. When Yeshua spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." John 9:5 Tonight as we see the candles glowing may we also remember, reverence, and rejoice in our Messiah, Who is The Light of the world, John 9:5. In lighting these candles we seek to create a set apart, sacred space for YHVH s Festival of Freedom, Pesach. With His Presence we sanctify the coming-together of His Body in remembrance of what He has done for us. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. John 12:46 2

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matt 5:14-16 MOTHER OR WOMEN Baruch atah Adonai Eloheynu melech ha olam asher kid shanu bid varecha v natan lanu et Yeshua M shiychenu, v tzimanu l hiyot or ha la olam. Amen Blessed are you, O LORD our God, King of the universe, Who sanctifies us by your commandments, and has given us Yeshua Messiah, who commands us to be light to the world. EVERYONE: I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! Psalm 18:1,2,46 As we celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread as well as His resurrection on the Feast of First Fruits this week we wait expectantly, for His Return! Until then we say: EVERYONE: Leh shah na Hah bah ah Ber ru sha law yim! NEXT YEAR IN JERUSALEM! Blessed are You, O LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has given us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this season. THE FIRST CUP THE CUP OF SANCTIFICATION Traditionally cups of wine are used to represent the redemptive promises, and their fulfillment, of YHVH in Exodus 6:6-8. The first cup is called the Cup of Sanctification as it represents the first I WILL of YHVH in Exodus 6:6. Sanctification means to be set apart. We are setting apart this time to worship, to bring honor to YHVH and to remember His salvation. 3 34

bondage of sin, lighting the path and showing them the way to Yeshua and freedom. PARTICIPANT: (Child goes to door and opens it to see if Elijah has come, and says Is 40:3) "In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God Is 40:3 Blessed are You, O LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has shown us a glimpse of your infinite grace and mercy. Thanks be to You, for Your Son, our eternal Redeemer and King, the True and Perfect Lamb. Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them. Luke 12:37 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Yeshua Messiah Phillipians 3:20 to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Yeshua, who rescues us from the wrath to come. 1 Thess 1:10 Let us close our celebration by praising our LORD. God said: Therefore say to the Israelites: I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. Exodus 6:6 In the same way that YHVH brought out the Israelites from Egypt, He has brought us out, redeemed us, separated us, set us apart, made us holy from the profane, and freed us from sin. He has set us apart unto Himself when we enter into the Covenant though Yeshua as our Lord. As covenant Believers we see and understand that the Feast of Pesach has importance to us not only as a remembrance of what He has done for His People in the past and our present lives, but also, as a prophetic picture of what is to come when Yeshua returns and gathers us into His Kingdom. Let us eat this meal as YHVH has instructed us and to watch and be ready for Yeshua s return. Here is how you are to eat it: with your belt fastened, your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand; and you are to eat it hurriedly. It is ADONAI s Pesach (Passover). Exodus 12:11...SAY, It is the sacrifices of ADONAI s Pesach (Passover), because (ADONAI) passed over the houses of the people of Isra el in Egypt, when He killed the Egyptians but spared our houses. The people of Isra el bowed their heads and worshipped. Exodus 12:27 Let us bless YHVH, please stand. (Lift your wine glass & read the scripture & say the blessing together) 33 4

Blessed be The LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, King of the universe, Who has made distinction between light and darkness, between Israel (His People) and the Nations, between the Sabbath and the other six working days, between right and wrong, between the holy and the profane, between believers (His People) and unbelievers, Amen. Amen. Blessed are You, O LORD, Our God, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. WASHING OF HANDS Ritual hand washing has been a part of YHVH s people since He commanded Aaron, the first High Priest, to bathe his hands and feet before approaching the altar of the YHVH. We wash our hands as a symbol of our desire to live a clean life of acceptable service to unto YHVH. As covenant believers in YHVH through our Messiah Yeshua, we are reminded in Ephesians 5:26-27, that we are sanctified and cleansed with the washing of water by The Word of YHVH that we may be presented holy and without blemish unto Himself. 5 THE CUP OF ELIJAH 32 Traditionally there is one more cup, a fifth cup that is called Elijah s cup. In traditional Jewish seders it is a cup that is set out for Elijah whom they expect to come and announce the Messiah s coming. We as covenant Believers know that Yeshua has come and await His return. John the Immerser was one who came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for Yeshua to come. Yeshua replied, "To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands." Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. Matt 17:11-13 The beginning of the gospel about Yeshua Messiah, the Son of God. It is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"-- "a voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' " And so John came, immersing in the desert region and preaching an immersion of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were immersed by him in the Jordan River... And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I immerse you with water, but he will immerse you with the Holy Spirit." Mark 1:1-8 In the same spirit of John may we prepare a way for Yeshua to come again. May we prepare our hearts and live our lives in anticipation of His return, preparing ourselves to be His Bride. And while waiting for His return for us, may we take our lamp, full of oil, the Holy Spirit, shining bright to a world in darkness and

This is the gate of the LORD; The righteous will enter through it. I shall give thanks to Thee, For Thou hast answered me; And Thou hast become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This is the LORD s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. O LORD, do save, we beseech Thee; O LORD, we beseech Thee, do send prosperity! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed you from the house of the LORD, The LORD is God, and He has given us light; Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I give thanks to Thee; Thou art my God, I extol Thee. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. For His lovingkindness is everlasting. The earth is the LORD s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers. Who may ascend unto the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully. He shall receive a blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Thy Face even Jacob. Psalm 24:1-6 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:2,10 Wash yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil. Isaiah 1:16 Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, that you may be saved Jeremiah 4:14 Blessed are those that wash their robes Revelation 22:14 This is also a reminder that Yeshua took this ritual a step further and humbled Himself the night of Pesach (Passover) with His disciples by washing their feet. Yeshua called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. Mark 10:

Now that I, your LORD and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you... John 13:14-15,17. We should follow Yeshua s example and serve each other with sincere, humble love, thinking of their needs before ours. (Wash your hands and dry them on the towel as it is passed to you) EATING OF THE KARPAS YHVH commanded the Pesach (Passover) meal to consist of three things: the sacrificed lamb, unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Other foods, traditions and customs have been added over the years to symbolize and to help tell the story of the redemptive work of YHVH through Yeshua. The Karpas, parsley, reminds us of the hyssop branch that was used to apply the blood of the sacrificed lamb onto the doorframe and lintel of the homes of those that obeyed and believed YHVH would save them from the 10 th plague and would deliver them out of Egypt. Hyssop was also used in the cleansing ritual in Leviticus 14 as well as the ritual that affirmed the covenant. This is the same branch that was lifted up to Yeshua with wine when he was on the execution stake. Exodus 24:7, Hebrews 9:19; John 19:29 PARTICIPANTS Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. All nations surrounded me; In the name of the LORD I will surely cut them off. They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; In the name of the LORD I will surely cut them off. They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished as a fire of thorns; In the name of the LORD I will surely cut them off. You pushed me violently so that I was falling. But the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and song, And he has become my salvation. The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. Shall not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD. The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not given me over to death. Open to me the gates of righteousness; I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to the LORD. 7 30

Behold, I am coming soon!... Rev 22:7 After this cup, the disciples went out singing a hymn to the Mount of Olives. He was arrested, beaten, whipped and was crucified as the Passover lambs were sacrificed in the Temple. Three days later He arose from the grave, walked among the people for 40 days and ascended to The Father where He awaits the time of His Return. Let us take turns reading the Psalm of ascent as was traditionally sung on Passover throughout the years and as Yeshua did. (taking turns reading) PSALM 118 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. O let Israel say, His lovingkindness is everlasting. Oh let the house of Aaron say, His lovingkindness is everlasting. Oh let those who fear the LORD say, His lovingkindness is everlasting. From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me in a large place. The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me. 29 The salt water symbolizes the tears shed as a result of the slavery and over the deaths of those that died in the tenth plague. May we also remember that Yeshua shed tears over His people who were like sheep without a shepherd. Luke 19:41 Let us not forget and shed a tear for those who are still in slavery to sin around the world, and for those who are persecuted for His Namesake. Our Messiah experienced the sorrow and pain of our sins as He became our sacrifice though His death. To Him be all glory, now and forever. Amen. After reading the scripture say the blessing, dip your parsley in the salt water and eat it. Surely our grief s He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Barukh atah Adonai Eloheynu melekh ah olam borey pri ha adamah. Blessed are You, O LORD our God, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth. 8

THE THREE PIECES OF MATZAH This is matzah, the unleavened bread. See how flat it is; it has no yeast in it that would puff it up. The Hebrews had to leave very fast and they were unable to wait for the bread to rise. It is also called the lechem oni, the bread of affliction that the Israelites ate in the land of Egypt. It represents the pain and suffering of slavery that they endured for 430 years. In the Word of YHVH, leavening, yeast, is a symbol of sin. This bread is unleavened and is a symbol of having no sin. The matzah is also a portrait of Yeshua Who had no sin in His life. He is the Bread of Life. Do not eat it with bread made with yeast, but for seven days eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste--so that all the days of your life you may remember the time of your departure from Egypt. Let no yeast be found in your possession in all your land for seven days. Deut 16:3 Then Yeshua declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35 Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:8 The matzah cover is divided into three sections with three pieces of matzah in it. There are several traditions as to why this is. As covenant Believers we see that the three sections symbolize the Echad of YHVH, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, as One. Yeshua s body that was broken for our sins is represented by the middle piece of matzah. Yeshua died on the stake, was 9 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in YHVH; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Yeshua answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:1-6 Yeshua did not drink of this cup either. He said that He would not drink of it until He drank of it in His Kingdom when He returns for those who are His, His Bride. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." Matt 26:29 "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' "" Rev 19:6b-8 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Rev 22:17 Let us also not drink of this cup either until we drink it together with Him in His Kingdom when He returns for us. 28

After reading His instructions, lift your glass and say the blessing, then drink from your cup remembering His Shed blood, the costly price paid, the covenant cut with His Blood, for your redemption. This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. 1 Corinthians 11:25 ה עוֹוֹל ם ל ך מ ך א ל ה ה יניננוּ י נה ה ו ה אַתתּ ה ב רוּוּ ן ה תג פ ך פּ ר עווּינ בּוֹר ינוּא Barukh ata Adonai Eloheynu melekh ha olam borey pri ha gafen. Amen Blessed are you, O LORD, our God, King of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine. Amen. THE FOURTH CUP THE CUP OF THE KINGDOM After YHVH redeemed the Israelites from Egypt He brought them to the Promised Land, a land flowing with milk and honey. He will also bring us into that Promised Land, His Kingdom when He returns, where we will be with Him for all eternity. And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.' Ex 6:8 27 wrapped in grave clothes, buried and brought forth (risen) again on the third day, as bread is brought forth from the earth. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. John 12:24 This process is a beautiful picture of Yeshua. A kernel of wheat is planted, buried in the ground. It sprouts hidden away beneath the soil, grows and when ripe is harvested. The one seed of grain has become many more seeds. To become bread, the kernels have to be separated from the stalk. To do this the stalks are beat to release the kernels. Then, they are threshed to remove the hard outer covering. They are threshed with a sledge that has razor sharp metal teeth that is drug over the grain. Next the chaff, the outer covering that has been separated has to be winnowed away leaving only the kernels of wheat. Then the kernels of wheat have to be ground and crushed into a fine flour that is mixed with water and oil and baked into bread. I will break the middle piece of matzah to represent that Yeshua was afflicted and broken for us. It will be wrapped in a cloth just as Yeshua was wrapped in grave clothes for His burial. HIDING THE AFIKOMAN The unleavened bread wrapped in the cloth is called the Afikomen. Afikoman is a Greek word meaning that which comes after, such as the dessert of a meal. Now, at this time the children will close their eyes and not peek. The Afikoman will be hidden away just as Yeshua was hidden away in the grave for 3 days and nights. After the meal the children will search for the hidden Afikoman and the one who finds it will return it to me for a ransom. Yeshua is The Ransom paid to redeem us. 10

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 PARTICIPANT: (Hides the Afikoman) WHY IS THIS NIGHT DIFFERENT? THE FOUR QUESTIONS 11 YHVH s Word commands we should have this remembrance Pesach meal so that when our children ask why we have this meal we can explain it to them. Exodus 12:26 These 4 questions are tradition, and are traditionally asked by a young child (or youngest participant) to start the telling of the story of redemption. PARTICIPANT: (The youngest child that can read or youngest participant, will ask the questions)?ה תל ינּינלוֹת מ עוכ ל ה ה תזּ ך ה תל תּי נל ה נ עוּשּׁ תּ תנ ה מ תה,וּמ תצּ ה ח מ ינץ אוֹכ ל עוינן אָנוּ ה תל ינּינלוֹת ב כ ל שׁ ך מ תצּ ה כּוּלוֹ ה ה תזּ ך ה תל תּי נל ה 1. Why is this night different than all others? Why do we eat unleavened bread on this night when all other nights we eat either unleavened or leavened bread? Because we were slaves unto Pharaoh in Egypt, and YHVH brought us out with His strong arm. When Pharaoh let our ancestors go from Egypt, they were forced to flee in great haste. They had no time to bake their bread. They could not wait for the Take and eat; this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19 ה עוֹוֹל ם ל ך מ ך א ל ה ה יניננוּ י נה ה ו ה אַתתּ ה וּץ ה אָר ך מ עון ם ח ך ל ך ה תמּוֹצ עוינא Barukh atah Adonai Eloyhenu melekh ah olam hamotzi lekhem min har aretz. Amen Blessed are you O, LORD, our God, King of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth. While Yeshua commands us to drink from this cup as a remembrance of His shed blood, He did not drink of the cup at this time. He would drink of it the next day on the stake securing our redemption with His blood shed as the Passover Lamb. When the hour came, Yeshua and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God. After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. Luke 22:14-18 Sanctification is a necessary part in our salvation. YHVH is holy and we can not enter His Presence with sin. He established the sacrificial system to cleanse that sin, to reconcile and restore His People to Him. Yeshua is the perfect, spotless sacrifice we bring so we can be forgiven and be in YHVH s Presence. May we all be justified and sanctified though the blood of the Lamb, Yeshua. 26

Take a moment to examine yourselves before eating and drinking the cup. (Pause for reflection and personal prayer, read & meditate upon the passages silently) Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. Psalm 24:3-5 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-23 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:12-14 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Psalm 25:11 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. " Mark 11:25 Yeshua said a blessing and broke the bread, let us do the same as He commanded us to. Lift your piece of matzah and after reading His instructions and saying the blessing, eat the unleavened bread in Rembrance of His broken Body given for us. yeast to rise. So the sun beating down on the dough as they hurried along, baked it into flat unleavened matzah. PARTICIPANT:,י נר וּקוֹת שׁ אָרוּ אוֹכ ל עוינן אָנוּ ה תל ינּינלוֹת ב כ ל שׁ ך מ רוּוֹרוּ ה ה תזּ ך ה תל תּי נל ה 2. Why do we eat only bitter herbs on this night when all other nights we eat all other kinds of vegetables? The Word of YHVH tells us that our ancestors were slaves in the land of Egypt and their lives were made bitter by their oppressors. We eat the matzah with bitter herbs to remind us of the suffering and anguish that YHVH saved us from. PARTICIPANT: א פ עוינלוּ מ תט ב עוּינל עוינן נוּ א ך א ינינן ה תל ינּינלוֹת ב כ ל שׁ ך פ ע וֹמ עוינם שׁ תּ ינינ ה ה תזּ ך ה תל תּי נל ה,ח ת א ך פּ תעוֹ תם 3. Why do we dip our vegetables twice on this night when we do not dip our vegetables even once all other nights? We dip twice - (1) green vegetables in salt water, and (2) Maror in Charoses, a sweet mixture of nuts and wine. The first dip, green vegetables in salt water, symbolizes the replacing of tears with gratefulness, and the second dip, Maror in Charoses, symbolizes sweetening the burden of bitterness and suffering to lessen its pain. And as believers, it symbolizes the sweetness we have in the hope of Yeshua

PARTICIPANT: ינוֹשׁ ב עוינן ב ינּינן אוֹכ ל עוינן אָנוּ ה תל ינּינלוֹת ב כ ל שׁ ך מ ס לּב עוּינן כ לּל נו ה ה תזּ ך ה תל תּי נל ה,מ ס לּב עוּינן וּב ינינן about this, Yeshua said to them, "Does this offend you? What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. 4. Why do we eat our meals reclining on this night when on all other nights we eat our meals sitting? Because reclining at the table was a sign of a free person. We follow this tradition by remembering our ancestors were freed on this night as we were and are freed from the bondage of sin and death by Yeshua. THE PASSOVER STORY The story of the Passover will now be told. THE PLAGUES The LORD God Almighty, the Rock of Israel, YHVH sent forth 10 plagues upon the land and the inhabitants of Egypt according to His might and power because of the oppression of His People Israel. With each plague YHVH defeated each of the Egyptian gods as well as Pharaoh himself. As we recite each plague, let us dip our finger into our cups of wine and allow a drop to fall onto the whiteness of the napkin in remembrance of YHVH s faithfulness to His covenant Promises. We are instructed as to the seriousness of this cup and before we partake of it we are to search ourselves to make sure we are eating and drinking in a manner that is worthy to partake: For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the LORD s death until He comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the LORD in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the LORD. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he does not judge the body rightly. For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. But if we judged ourselves rightly, we should not be judged, but when we are judged, we are disciplined by the LORD in order that we may not be condemned along with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:26-32 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moshe died on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:

And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." At this the Jews (people) began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." They said, "Is this not Yeshua, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?" "Stop grumbling among yourselves," Yeshua answered. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Yeshua said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." On hearing it, many of his disciples said, "This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?" Aware that his disciples were grumbling 23 BLOOD FROGS LICE FLIES LIVESTOCK BOILS HAIL LOCUST DARKNESS DEATH OF THE FIRSTBORN The final part of the Passover story will be told. THE SECOND CUP THE CUP OF JUDGMENT Now we will drink from the second cup, the Cup of Judgment. Yeshua was praying in the garden of Gethsemane, which means oil press, the night before he went to the stake. He did not want to drink from the Cup of Judgment but He was obedient and did because He knew the will of His Heavenly Father was best. Yeshua willingly drank from the cup of judgment in our place, so that we would not have to. I will deliver you from their bondage... Exodus 6:6 Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not as I will, but yours be done. An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke 22:

After saying the blessing take a drink from your glass of wine. Amen. Blessed are You, O LORD, our God, King of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine. YESHUA OUR PASSOVER LAMB YHVH commands that His People were to celebrate the Passover Feast for the generations to come as a memorial of His Deliverance and redemption. It also points forward to Yeshua s return. In accordance with the command of the sacrificed lamb of Passover we remember that: The Paschal Lamb is the sacrifice unto YHVH our God for redemption. Yeshua is our spotless Passover Lamb sacrifice. The next day he saw Yeshua coming to him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 15 "Praise be to the LORD, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel! Ruth 4:14 I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgements. 'Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God ; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. Exodus 6:6-7 It was at this point in the meal with His disciples that Yeshua speaks of His redemption and how to remember it for all generations. Yeshua uses the traditional cups of wine drank in the Pesach memorial meal to memorialize the I Wills of YHVH, His redemptive Promises to show us how the reality of the covenant is cut with His Blood and Body as the sacrifice. It is the covenant meal that is eaten between those who are YHVH s people, the talmadim of Yeshua. As John 6:43-63 says, we partake of our Passover Lamb, Yeshua. Each participant may read a portion of the scripture. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." "Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread." Then Yeshua declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 22

GRACE AFTER THE MEAL Traditionally grace is said after the meal, speaking thanks. We thank you, LORD our God, for the good land which you have given to our ancestors, for bringing them out from the land of Egypt, and redeeming us from the house of bondage into the freedom of Your Kingdom. We thank you for the Torah which you have given us and for hearts to obey our Word. We thank you for the life of grace and lovingkindness which you have graciously bestowed upon us, and for the food we eat with which you nourish and sustain us at all times. You open Your Hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. As you satisfy us with food may we be satisfied with your unfailing love and sing for joy and be glad all our days. May we satisfy the hungry and oppressed from the abundance of your blessings as your Word tell us, so that our light may shine bright and lead the way out of the darkness of this world and into the freedom and light of your Kingdom. THE THIRD CUP THE CUP OF REDEMPTION This is the Cup of Redemption, it tells us of YHVH s redemption. Our Messiah Yeshua shed His blood for the redemption of sins for all who would call upon Him. Whosoever will place their faith and trust in Him shall be saved. He is our Kinsman Redeemer! just as Messiah also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:2 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:11 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 On the Seder plate there is a spot for the shank bone that symbolizes the Passover lamb sacrifice. The eating of the physical sacrificed lamb was a shadow picture of Yeshua Who would come as the reality of that sacrifice. Yeshua is the reality of all of the animal sacrifices that were commanded to be given. We offer Him as our sacrificed Passover Lamb. We eat of the symbolic food (either the roasted chicken shank bone or piece of lamb) that represents the spiritual reality of Who was sacrificed for us. Eat of the chicken leg or piece of lamb to symbolize the memorial sacrifice of The Lamb of YHVH. Later we will eat again, as Yeshua said to do, in remembrance of Him as our Passover Sacrifice. The Unleavened Bread, are the cakes that were brought forth from Egypt that were commanded by the LORD to eat during these seven days of unleavened bread. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:

I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I give for the life of the world is My flesh. John 6:51 Yeshua is our sinless Bread of Life. We will eat of the unleavened bread in a moment. Look at the piece of matzah and see how it looks bruised, pierced, striped like whip marks. It has to be pierced & crushed to flatten it. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5 Because YHVH has delivered and redeemed us we therefore say: Blessed, Extolled and Magnified is His Precious Name, the Name of the LORD God of Israel, the Messiah, Yeshua, both now and forever, Amen. Let us say a blessing over the bread. Lift up a piece of matzah and after the blessing eat a piece of it. Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the tree. THE PASSOVER FEAST MEAL Let us bless YHVH for our meal. We will return to our sedar after the meal. Enjoy your dinner! THE CHILDREN HUNT FOR THE AFIKOMAN Let us continue our seder. The children will now hunt for the Afikoman and whoever finds it will bring it back to me for the ransom. (When the Afikoman is ransomed) "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. Mark 16:6 YESHUA IS RISEN! He has ransomed our lives and we now have the promise of eternal life in Him! We praise and thank Him with all glory! 17 20

We will partake of the Maror, the bitter herb on matzah to bring tears to our eyes in remembrance of the suffering and affliction of our people as captives in Egypt. The bitter herb represents the bitterness of slavery the Israelites suffered and also the bitterness of slavery of sin in our lives today. We should grieve that Yeshua bore our bitter sin for us. After saying the blessing, dip a piece of matzah into the bitter herbs and eat it. Blessed are you O, LORD, our God, King of the universe who sanctifies us with His commandments and commands us regarding the removal of leaven. Amen Baruch atah Adonai Elohyeynu melech ha olam, asher kidshanu b mitzvotav vitsivanu al a chee lat maw ror. Amen. Blessed art you, O LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with Your commandments and commanded us concerning the eating of bitter herbs. EATING OF THE CHAROSET Now we will again eat the bitter herb but this time with the sweet charoset. The charoset traditionally symbolizes the mortar used by the Israelites in building during their slavery in Egypt. And now for us as covenant Believers, it also represents how the sweetness of Yeshua can overcome the bitterness of sin in our lives. After saying the blessing, dip a piece of matzah in the bitter herb again and also into the charoset and eat it. 19 Blessed are you O, LORD, our God, King of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth. EATING OF THE BITTER HERBS The Bitter Herbs are eaten to remind us that the Egyptians embittered the Israelites, YHVH s people s, lives with hard bondage, in all manner of labor, bondage and slavery. Yeshua bore the bitterness of our sins for us, to free us from it s bondage. and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the stake, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds we are healed. 1 Peter 2:4 18
