(4) Chapter 29 32: judgment on Egypt; description of judgment; comparison to Assyria; a funeral song over Egypt. Chapter 33: appointing watchmen on the wall; Chapter 34: firing all the shepherds / the hired pastors; the LORD will do the job. (2) Chapter 35-36: judgment begins at the household of God; but extends to the irksome neighbors; God always looks for love freely given. Much of this but not all was local history 2500 years ago. Plan B: The last days: Trumpets, Afflicting souls, and Tents; 3 days that are still on the Lord s calendar. Chapter 37 the great awakening of Joseph (led by Ephraim and Manasseh) when they along with Judah become one; until Jesus Messiah returns to rule with a rod of iron. Armageddon: Chapter 38 Gog and Magog against Judah and Manasseh; Chapter 39 Gog and Magog against Ephraim the battle is over. Plan A: the first days: Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Pentecost. Prophet Ezekiel says: But back to reality: Chapters 40 46: when you return to the land after 70 years in Babylon, rebuild the temple; include the 30 guardrooms. Chapters 47 48: when Messiah comes to reign; He will get the water to flow and clean up Jerusalem; notice there are no more bloody sacrifices. In this chapter we have a continuation of the prophecy against Egypt, just before the desolation of that once flourishing nation, we learn of the destruction of all her allies and confederates, all her interests and concerns and the several steps that would be taken to push forward her destruction MH. 1 The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God / aren t you glad our God speaks to His people? 2 4 A sword will come upon Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia / the judgment starts with Egypt, but will quickly spread; and it will end with justice on the brutish nations today; I m sure it will be an Oh crap, kind of a day. 3 10 Thus says the Lord God; I will make an end to the multitude of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon / this prophecy was first fulfilled 2500 years ago sort of a trial warm up anticipating the big game coming; then it will have a second, final fulfillment when Messiah comes in power and great glory. 11 He and his people with him / all Babylon including Babylon the great, the terrifying terrorists of the nations / both in force and fierceness, they will make horrifying work, this leader and his people with him will be brought to destroy the earth / Daniel told us, the 4 th beast, clothed in their fashionable colors of purple and scarlet the colors of ancient Babylon; Daniel says, the roman govt will be the last brutal govt smashing and destroying until the whole world is broken; they are busy doing that even today: and will draw swords against Egypt, and fill the earth with the slain / and we know history tells us this happened a long time ago, but hey, it is the legacy of Rome and will continue till the end; just turn on TV and watch. 12 And I will make the rivers dry / can you imagine the Nile River or the Euphrates River or both dry? Such desert regions without water, in 3 days the people will start to die and sell the earth into the hand of evildoers / and nobody will say: I am shocked...! Isn t it obvious? This is what is happening now days. and I will desolate the earth / God has been patient and longsuffering with the world; but even so, He is sorting out the scummy riffraff, and everything in it, by the hand of strangers / by foreigners; God s favorite method: send foreigners, they will stir up the hated: I the Lord have spoken / anybody want to argue with the Lord? 5 so to heal and make it strong to wield the sword. 22 Therefore thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms / his lineage, and his armies; Egypt will be dismantled piece by piece, both the strong arm, and that which was broken outrageous? No, it makes me proud of God; and I will make the sword fall from his hand. 23 I will scatter among the nations the Egyptians / along with their mixed bag of mercenary little leaguers and all our faithful brothers and sisters who have been harassed and hassled for centuries in Egypt they will greatly rejoice, and disperse these mercenaries through the countries. 24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put My sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh s arms, and he will groan before him with groanings like a mortally wounded man. 25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall; and they will know / so they are attending a school of hard knocks, they have a lesson to learn, I am the Lord, when I put My sword in the hand of the king of Babylon / even the last mystery Babylon the great, faithless Mother of adoring whores who is guilty of all the blood of the martyrs and saints of Jesus, and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. 26 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they will know / for a 4 th time, they went to school, they have a lesson to learn; what is it?
