1 What The Prophets Say Dr. Billye Brim September 28, 2014 Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 2 golden hooks up on which the history of the world hangs: 1. 1 st coming of the Lord 2. 2 nd coming of the Lord Revelation 22:6-9 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. There s a lot of darkness in the world right now and if you want to see the light of it, and see what s happening (in Syria, all around the world), then you ll have to know what the prophets said. Otherwise you could go bonkers. We re not scared of what s going on, because we know what the prophets said. Matthew 24:1-3 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world [should be age ]? 2 questions for Jesus: 1. When will the temple be destroyed? 2. What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age? We are not approaching the end of the world; we re approaching an age change. We re about to go into the 7 th day, the millennial day. Your coming = your coming as a king or emperor Watch the Fig Tree Luke 21:29-33 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth [into their prophetic places], ye see and know of your own selves that summer [judgment time] is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Fig tree = Israel (Joel 1:6-7) All the trees = the nations of the prophets; the prophets told us what would happen in certain nations in the end days 1 The Wells at 7th Street

2 Summer = judgment time The present generation who s living on the earth at that time will not pass away until everything s fulfilled. The generation that sees the fig tree bud (come into its prophetic place) the Jews will come home (the biggest miracle since Bible times). o For 2000 years they ve been dispersed all over the world, but still knew who they were (because of the Sabbath and the calendar). God kept all of them, as a sign to us. Jesus said, When you see it, you know that I m about to set up My earthly kingdom. God has a plan for earth [heaven and hell aren t the only 2 places you can live in eternity]. Anything He created, He s moving toward perfection with it. The Bible s full of what He s going to do with it, who s going to be here, who are the millennial people. We can do a lot of things with prayer. There are things that are going to happen. Some things we can stop and some things we can t but we can stop a lot more than we do stop. II Peter 1:16-21 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. More sure word = the prophets Peter is saying: Jesus is coming again. It s going to be dark; the world won t know what s happening. But you have a light shining in a dark place. That light is the prophetikos the Old Testament prophets. And if you will see what they said, they will tell you how everything turns out. They re going to tell you what happens to Israel they re coming back home. They re going to tell you what happens to the nations. And Jesus said if you watch it you ll know when I m coming, but you can t do it without watching the Old Testament prophets. So we watch the nations through the prophets. Nations to watch o Europe o Middle East prophets said the old nations of prophecy would be brought back, and why they would be brought back Jeremiah 49:39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days [ end of days end of 6 day work week; 1000 years is a day], that I will bring again the captivity of Elam [Iran/Persia], saith the LORD. Jeremiah 50:1 the word that the LORD spake against Babylon [Iraq] 2 The Wells at 7th Street

3 Jeremiah 48:47-49:1 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab. Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD 1. Moab & Ammon = Jordan; God is bringing them back for judgment 2 divinely orchestrated events brought these nations back to their end-of-days position in the Middle East 1. World War I Allies defeated the Ottoman Turks and divided up the Middle East 2. Discovery of oil They will be judged as nations for how they treated Israel Everything is spiritual now. There are no politics that are not spiritual. And we re the ones with the authority in the spiritual realm. o Syria 1 st witness: Zechariah (David Baron) 1 st 8 chapters of Zechariah are 8 visions Zechariah had about God restoring Jerusalem; chapter 9 it changes Last chapters of Zechariah about the overthrow of world power and Messiah s kingdom ; about war within the heathen world and Israel 1 st oracle (chapters 9-11): tell of the judgment of God through which Gentile world power over Israel is finally destroyed, and Israel is endowed with strength to overcome all these enemies. 2 nd oracle (chapters 12-14): the judgment through which Israel itself is sifted and purged in the final great conflict with the nations, and transformed into the holy nation of Jehovah. Zechariah 9:1-2 The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD. And Hamath also shall border thereby Burden: word for the Lord that s not good for the person it s talking about Whole scenario of how God is dealing with the nations will begin in Damascus, and from there will shoot out to all the area When this starts, nobody s going to wonder. Everybody s going to know Jehovah did this; the eyes of all the world will be looking at Him. And the finality of it is going to start with Damascus. So when we re watching what the prophets say, and Damascus and all of Syria is in an uproar, we have to take note! 2 nd witness: Isaiah 3 The Wells at 7th Street

4 Isaiah 17:1 17 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. This has never happened. This is one of the oldest cities; has had wars but has never been taken away and become a ruinous heap. Isaiah 7:7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 7:12-14 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us. Ezekiel War described here hasn t happened yet Russia will come down from the north, will have allies (38:5: Persia Iran; Ethiopia; Libya; Gomer Eastern Europe; Togarmah Turkey) Coming against Israel (38:8) to take a spoil 38:16-17 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me [will see that He is Jehovah], when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? 38:20-22 what He s going to do: great earthquake; turn them against each other; plead against them with pestilence and blood 38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD. All a nation has to do to be a sheep nation is repent and turn to God Ezekiel 39: And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward. They re going to know, because He s going to show them. We ve had the ministry of the Lamb, but we re getting ready for the ministry of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. And when the Day of the Lord comes that means He gets His way, Adam s lease is over God s going to move, and people are going 4 The Wells at 7th Street

5 to watch Him. They re going to look at Him, and they re going to know Jehovah is God and He doesn t have another name such as Allah. Jehovah is God. Wonderful things are ahead. The future is as bright as God can make it! But some judgments have to take place on the earth, and they re happening now and they re going to happen more. But hallelujah! You re the Church the glorious Church the ones that will be rising up in these last days with the glory of God upon our faces and the manifestation of God in our midst. Oh, these are glorious days! Make sure as you prepare, you re not preparing because you re afraid. People want to be what God wants them to be. He told us what to be: Be strong! Be courageous! Be not afraid! Rejoice! Pray always! Don t quench the Spirit! Anything you do from a motive of fear, you d better check it. 5 The Wells at 7th Street
