The first installment in this series of Bible commentaries of cross-centered scriptures, A CROSS IN THE PSALMS, is comprised of 330 pages and was first released in The second installment was completed on Sukkot 2016, A CROSS IN THE TORAH---GENESIS (488 pages), a unique commentary on the fifty chapters of our first parents, Adam and Eve, and their descendants: Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. The latest installment, A CROSS IN THE PROVERBS, all thirty-one chapters, was completed on the eighth and last day of Hanukkah The previous commentaries were completed with a reprint of the first on Purim 2016, the second on Simchat Torah The King James Version (KJV) is the only translation that identifies the Creator of the universe in this manner, with the letter t in center. I dedicate this Bible commentary of the book of Proverbs to my LORD and KING, YESHUA HA MASHIACH / JESUS CHRIST. Compiled by art ellison jr. You may reprint. 3 PROVERBS 1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel. 1:1 To know Wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; 1:2 Understanding 1:2 To receive the instruction of Wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity: 1:3 To receive the instruction of Wisdom 1:3 Justice 1:3 To give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. 1:4 Subtlety 1:4 2

A Wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto WISE COUNSELS: 1:5 Understanding 1:5 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the Wise, and their dark sayings. 1:6 The fear of THE LORD is the beginning of knowledge: 1:7a The fear of the LORD 1:7a (Note: The number 17 symbolizes victory and fulfillment. This chapter and verse, 1:7, is our model for life. On the seventeenth day of the second and seventh months, the flood rains came down and the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat, Turkey. Genesis 7:10 and 8:4. David s victory over Goliath was in 1 Kings 17, et al.) But fools despise Wisdom and instruction. 1:7b 3

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, 1:8a The instruction of thy father 1:8a Father 1:8a And forsake not the law of thy mother: 1:8b The law of thy mother 1:8b Mother 1:8b For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. 1:9 4

My son, if Sinners entice thee, consent thou not!!! 1:10 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, letus lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 1:11 (Note: An interesting observation with chapter and verse here. Chapter one, verse eleven. Seemingly innocent we suppose...multiply 111 X 6 and it equals 666. The number 666 is mentioned in the book of Revelation 13 as being the mark of the beast--- the anti-christ/messiah. The murdering of innocent babies during abortions, innocent Jewish people as in anti-semitism, and innocent Christians and Jews as in persecution is clearly anti-bible, and therefore, anti-god--- the 666 spirit. The persecution against these groups will become less subtle in these last days.) Let us swallow them up alive as the Grave; and whole, as those that go down into the Pit: 1:12 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 1:13 Substance 1:13 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 1:14 5

My son, Walk not thou in the way with them; 1:15a Refrain thy foot from their path: 1:15b For their feet run to Evil, and make haste to shed blood. 1:16 (Note: Proverbs are truly humanity s instructions for gaining wisdom, knowledge and understanding in one s life. All of life s ups and downs, the mountains and valleys, may be measured with numbers, symbolizing the paths we are to take. Again, we observe chapter and verse---1:16. Turning the number 116 upside down, it becomes 9/11. September 11. The most infamous day in American history. The destruction of the New York Trade Towers. And their feet did run to evil---on that day...making haste to shed I N N O C E N T B L O O D!!! ) Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. 1:17 And they lay wait for their own blood;they lurk privily for their own lives. 1:18 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof. 1:19 6

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets. 1:20 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: 1:21a Gates 1:21a In the city she uttereth her words, saying, 1:21b How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in their scorning, 1:22a, b And fools hate knowledge? 1:22b (Note: Sharing the gospel of our LORD and Savior, JESUS CHRIST / YESHUA HA MASHIACH with strangers for twenty years, I have witnessed to many who absolutely reject the knowledge of the truth. And when they hear the truth spoken to them very plainly, they still reject it. In their hearts they perceive there is no absolute truth, concluding that I may not know the truth, and that their feelings justify their limited understanding of scriptures, even though never having studied the Word of GOD from Genesis to Revelation.) 7

ABSOLUtE TRUTH Turn you atmy reproof: 1:23a Behold, I will pour out My Spirit unto you, 1:23b I will make known My words unto you. 1:23c Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded; 1:24 But ye have set at nought all My counsel, and would have none of My reproof: 1:25 I will also laugh at your calamity; 1:26a 8

I will mock when your fear cometh. 1:26b When your fear cometh as desolation, and your Destruction cometh as a whirlwind; 1:27a When distress and anguish cometh upon you. 1:27b Then shall they call upon Me, but I will not answer; 1:28a They shall seek Me early, but they shall not find Me. 1:28b For that they hated knowledge, 1:29a And did not choose the fear of THE LORD: 1:29b They would none of My counsel: they despised all My reproof. 1:30 9

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, 1:31 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, 1:32a And the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 1:32b But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, 1:33a And shall be quiet from fear of Evil. 1:33b (Note: The goodness of THE LORD is precious indeed. His promises are truly YES and AMEN. The love of GOD is for all who choose to place their trust in THE LORD and He will deliver. When YESHUA/JESUS graced us with His presence approximately 2021 years ago, around 4 B.C., give or take one year, the Mashiach / Messiah had arrived, fulfilling Isaiah 9:6, which states: For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE. Look to YAHWEH for your covering, and look to YESHUA / JESUS for protection from evil. As He was only thirty-three at His death, may you remember verse thirty-three. And He did rise again. Selah.) 10

PROVERBS 2 My, Son, if thou wilt receive My Words, 2:1a And hide My Commandments with thee; 2:1b So that thou incline thine ear to Wisdom, 2:2a And apply thine heart to understanding; 2:2b Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, 2:3a And liftest up thy voice for understanding; 2:3b If thou seekest her as silver, 2:4a 11

And searchest for her as for hid treasures; 2:4b Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of GOD. 2:5 For THE LORD giveth Wisdom; out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 2:6 He layeth up sound Wisdom for the Righteous: He is a buckler to them that walk Uprightly. 2:7 (Note: The key to a victorious life in MESSIAH YESHUA includes being a friend to Wisdom, embracing a righteous lifestyle and walking uprightly. The Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes misunderstood the ministry of JESUS because they had expected a Savior like Moses, whom GOD had used to deliver His people, the Israelites, from Egypt. The Roman oppression of Judea was ironclad and unyielding; YESHUA spoke of loving the enemies and forgiveness, and did not appear to have a plan to overthrow the Roman rule. He brought Shalom, as He was the Prince of Peace that was prophesied of in Isaiah 9:6. His was a ministry of circumcising hearts, preparing people for GOD, with LOVE AND PEACE. And as a result of missing GOD because of sin, pride, arrogance, self-righteousness and hypocrisy, the majority of the Jewish leadership saw their MASHIACH as a threat to their corrupt religious system. And not as their SUFFERING SERVANT, Who would later be crucified on a cross. Read Isaiah 53.) Righteous 2:7 12

He keepeth the paths of judgment 2:8a And preserveth the way of His saints. 2:8b Then shall you understand Righteousness, and judgment, and equity: 2:9a Yea, every good path. 2:9b When Wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 2:10 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 2:11 Understanding 2:11 To deliver thee from the way of the Evil man, 2:12a 13

(Note: Seventeen letters on either side of the cross as the promise is for deliverance from evil. The number seventeen is symbolic of victory...fulfillment...salvation. YESHUA was resurrected on Nisan/Abib 17.) From the man that speaketh froward things. 2:12b Who leave the paths of Uprightness, 2:13a To walk in the ways of Darkness; 2:13b Who rejoice to do Evil, and delight in the frowardness of the Wicked; 2:14 (Note: The total number of letters in the above verse is 55. The numerical value of the names Satan/Santa is 55. The above adjectives describe the adversary of our souls very well---evil, frowardness/perversion and wicked.) Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 2:15 To deliver thee from the strange woman, 2:16a Even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 2:16b 14

Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her GOD. 2:17 For her house inclineth unto Death, and her paths unto the Dead. 2:18 Death 2:18 (Note: The one event that has had the greatest impact on humanity was the death of her MESSIAH on the cross. On the day of Passover, 31 A.D., at the same hour that the priests and Levites were slaughtering thousands upon thousands of lambs in the Temple of Jerusalem, YESHUA / JESUS was the sacrificial Lamb of GOD. Without spot, without sin, without blemish, blameless, perfect in all His ways, full of love, mercy, compassion and forgiveness--- HE CAME AND HE DIED. AND THREE DAYS LATER--- HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD. AND FROM THAT TIME UNTIL NOW---HE LIVES IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER! Just believe.) None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. 2:19 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the Righteous. 2:20 Righteous 2:20 15

For the Upright shall dwell in the land, and the Perfect shall remain in it. 2:21 But the Wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the Transgressors shall be rooted out of it. 2:22 PROVERBS 3 My son, forget not My Law; 3:1a (Note: The word Torah is typically defined as law. And yet, a better definition is actually instruction or teaching.) But let thine heart keep My Commandments: 3:1b For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3:2 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: 3:3a Bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 3:3b, c 16

So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of GOD and man. 3:4 Understanding 3:4 Trust in THE LORD with all thine heart: 3:5a And lean not unto thine own understanding. 3:5b Understanding 3:5b In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. 3:6a Paths 3:6a 17

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from Evil. 3:7 It shall be health to thy navel, 3:8a And marrow to thy bones. 3:8b Honor THE LORD with thy substance, 3:9a Substance 3:9a And with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 3:9b (Note: We are all to live GOD-glorifying lives---in everything that we do, say and think, and even in our giving.) 18

Firstfruits 3:9b So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 3:10 My son, despise not the chastening of THE LORD; neither be weary of His correction. 3:11 Chastening 3:11 For whom THE LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. 3:12 Happy is the man that findeth Wisdom, 3:13a And the man that getteth understanding. 3:13b For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, 3:14a And the gain thereof than fine gold. 3:14b 19

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 3:15 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and Honor. 3:16 Right hand 3:16a Left hand 3:16b Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 3:17 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: 3:18a And happy is every one that retaineth her. 3:18b (Note: Wisdom is the one virtue that few would reveal as being a desire of their hearts. THE LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream, saying to him, Ask what I shall give thee. Solomon responded with 20

Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Thy so great a people. And the speech pleased THE LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing. And YAHWEH responded, Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart... And Israel experienced peace during the reign of Solomon. Or, in other words, the people of Israel who had retained Wisdom were all happy!!! 1 Kings 3:5, 9, 10, 12) THE LORD by Wisdom hath founded the earth; 3:19a Earth 3:19a By understanding hath He established the heavens. 3:19b Understanding 3:19b By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. 3:20 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound Wisdom and discretion: 3:21 21

So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. 3:22 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. 3:23 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: 3:24a Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. 3:24b Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the Wicked, when it cometh. 3:25 For THE LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. 3:26 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 3:27 Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. 3:28 Devise not Evil against thy neighbor, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. 3:29 22

Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. 3:30 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. 3:31 For the froward is abomination to THE LORD: 3:32a (Note: The word froward means perverted: whereas the word abomination means something detestable. ) But His secret is with the Righteous. 3:32b The Curse of THE LORD is in the house of the Wicked: 3:33a But He blesseth the habitation of the Just. 3:33b Habitation 3:33b Surely He scorneth the scorners: 3:34a 23

But He giveth grace unto the lowly. 3:34b The Wise shall inherit Glory: 3:35a But Shame shall be the promotion of fools. 3:35b PROVERBS 4 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 4:1 (Note: The sheer perplexity of things hidden, then newly discovered for all to see and be amazed, is the secret of kings that will be discerned only by a few. It is the glory of GOD to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 To the left of the cross above are 33 letters, which symbolize the age of YESHUA/ JESUS on the day of His crucifixion; the 31 letters on the right of the cross reflect the year of His death on Passover/Pesach 31 A.D. The numbers 33 and 31 added together equal 64, and when we add the letter t, we have a total of 65, which happens to be the Hebrew gematria for ADONAI, a title which means LORD in English. Other meanings include Master, Owner and Sovereign. Remember this interesting fact: Isaiah 9:6 refers to a Child that would be born, the Son that would be given to humanity---with the government of GOD S KINGDOM placed upon His shoulders, indicating a number of attributes that would pertain to the One individual Who would have these amazing titles, i.e., WONDERFUL...COUNSELOR...MIGHTY GOD... 24

EVERLASTING FATHER...PRINCE OF PEACE. He is the One spoken of in Matthew 23 when He spoke as a Father to rebellious, stiffnecked children who had dishonored Him. He came to bless His people...and they rejected the Holy One of Israel---- YESHUA HA MASHIACH / JESUS CHRIST.) For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not My Law. 4:2 (Note: The best teaching that anyone could receive today is the good doctrine we find in GOD S WORD, His Holy Bible, from the Law, the Torah--- His instructions, His teachings...from Genesis to the book of Revelation. We must...never FORSAKE THE LORD S INSTRUCTIONS!!!) For I was My Father s SON, tender and only beloved in the sight of My mother. 4:3 Mother 4:3 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain My words: keep My Commandments and live. 4:4 Get Wisdom, get understanding; forget it not; neither decline from the words of My mouth. 4:5 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 4:6 25

Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore get Wisdom: 4:7a, b And with all thy getting get understanding. 4:7c Exalt her, And she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee to Honor, when thou dost embrace her. 4:8 (Note: When was the last time that we heard a powerful message about the importance of wisdom and the significance of operating in wisdom on a daily basis? Or, do we assume that we all have this virtue, when we may not?) She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. 4:9 (Note: Remember the forty-niners who went out west to California for the gold rush? As believers in YESHUA/JESUS---He is our Gold!!! Keep pressing into Him, and you shall receive your beautiful crown of glory---that will never tarnish. May we all become 49ers!!!) Hear, O my son, and receive My sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. 4:10 I have taught thee in the way of Wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. 4:11 26

When thou goest, thou steps shall not be straitened; 4:12a (Note: Or, When you walk, your step will not be hindered. Tree of Life Version / TLV) And when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. 4:12b Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go; 4:13a Keep her; for she is thy life. 4:13b Enter not into the path of the Wicked, and enter not into the way of Evil men. 4:14 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. 4:15 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; 4:16a (Note: Another translation states, For they cannot sleep until they do evil. TLV) And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. 4:16b 27

For they eat the bread of Wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. 4:17 But the path of the Just is as the shining light, 4:18a That shineth more and more unto the Perfect day. 4:18b The way of the Wicked is as Darkness: they know not at what they stumble. 4:19 My son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. 4:20 Let them not depart from thine eyes; 4:21a Keep them in the midst of thine heart. 4:21b For they are life unto those that find them, 4:22a And health to all their flesh. 4:22b 28

Keep thy heart with all diligence; 4:23a For out of it are the issues of life. 4:23b (Note: It is so vital that we treasure the hear that THE LORD has given to each of us. Matthew 12:34 states, For out of the abundance of the hear the mouth speaketh. 1 Samuel 16:7 states, For THE LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but THE LORD looketh on the heart. And if you are dissatisfied with what is revealed to you regarding your heart as you read these words, you may want to consider what THE LORD says that He will do for all who desire to wholeheartedly pursue Him. Let us look at Ezekiel 11:19, And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their G O D. 29

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. 4:24 (Note: May all of our conversations be pleasing in the ears of THE LORD. May we take time to THINK before speaking. Please consider 1 Peter 1:15, which states, But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy, for I AM HOLY. And also read 1 Corinthians 15:33, Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. And Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And lastly, LORD JESUS stated in Matthew 12:36, But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give an account thereof in the day of J U D G M E N T Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 4:25 Ponder the path of thy feet, 4:26a (Note: We must always be mindful of where we are going. Consult with THE LORD and determine if it meets His approval. He still communicates, even today---and sometimes we are too busy to hear from Him. Considering taking the family out to see a new movie??? Did we find out GOD S opinion regarding the film? If we fail to connect with Him, there may be regrets later. And when we do connect---bliss, without the regrets.) 30

And let all thy ways be established. 4:26b Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: 4:27a Remove thy foot from Evil!!! 4:27b (Note: In 2017, evil comes in all forms. Gossip, unholy alliances, internet, movies, T.V., entertainment, music, pride, murder, abortion, sex sins, alcohol/drug abuse, witchcraft, idolatry, Sabbath breaking, magazines, books, etc.) PROVERBS 5 My son, attend unto My Wisdom, 5:1a And bow thine ear to My understanding: 5:1b Understanding 5:1b 31

That thou mayest regard discretion, And that thy lips may keep Knowledge. 5:2 (Note: Be led of the HOLY SPIRIT and He will give to us discretion when we seek Him in His Word, The HOLY BIBLE. He will impart to us the knowledge of Him. If you have not yet done so, consider committing the following Bible verse to memory--- from 2 Timothy 2:15...which states, Study to show thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. ) For the lips of a strange woman drop as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: 5:3 (Note: For everyone looking to do great things for the Kingdom---Beware of your adversary. Satan s use of charming, beautiful members of the opposite sex may be used to distract you, get you off track, and even de-rail your train--- if you are not prayerful and watchful. As Peter warns in 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: And believe it or not, he uses people... Most of whom do not even realize they Are being influenced by satanic forces.) 32

But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. 5:4 Her feet go down to Death; her steps take hold on Hell. 5:5 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, 5:6a, b That thou canst not know them. 5:6c Hear Me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of My mouth 5:7 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: 5:8 Lest thou give thine Honor unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: 5:9 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labors be in the house of a stranger; 5:10 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, 5:11 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 5:12 33

And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, 5:13a Nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me. 5:13b I was almost in all Evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly. 5:14 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, 5:15a Waters 5:15a Cistern And running waters out of thine own well. 5:15b (Note: A subtle message to those who are married. THE LORD would have us tend to the pasture He gave us, rather than look elsewhere. In other words, be content with the spouse that GOD blessed you with.) 34

Waters 5:15b Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. 5:16 Fountains 5:16 Waters 5:16 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers with thee. 5:17 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 5:18 Fountain 5:18 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; 5:19a, b 35

And be thou ravished always with her Love. 5:19c And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? 5:20 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He pondereth all his goings. 5:21 His own Iniquities shall take the Wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his Sins. 5:22 He shall Die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. 5:23 PROVERBS 6 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, 6:1 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, 6:2a Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. 6:2b 36

Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; 6:3a Deliver thyself 6:3a Go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. 6:3b Humble thyself 6:3b Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids. 6:4 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of a fowler. 6:5 Go to the ant, thou sluggard, consider her ways, and Be wise: 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard 6:6a 37

Which having no guide, overseer or ruler, 6:7 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. 6:8 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? 6:9a How long wilt thou sleep? 6:9a (Note: To borrow from a Keith Green song---it is difficult to win a war in a world that is sleeping in the dark while the Church is sleeping in the Light. It is time for the Church to wake up and fight. There is a spiritual war raging.) When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? 6:9b (Note: There have been times in history when it was quite obvious that the Church was asleep at the wheel when certain U.S. Supreme Court rulings became the law of the land and very little was heard from the Church. We pray that we all awake from deep slumber. Consider the moon. While reflecting the light of the sun/son, it symbolizes every born-again, Holy Spirit-filled believer whose sole purpose on earth is to bring light to a dark unbelieving world, bringing glory to the SON OF GOD, YESHUA / JESUS. Everything else pales in significance.) Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 6:10 38

So shall thy poverty come as one that traveleth, and thy want as an armed man. 6:11 A naughty person, a Wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. 6:12 A naughty person 6:12a He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 6:13 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth Discord. 6:14 He soweth Discord 6:14c Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. 6:15 These six things doth THE LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: 6:16 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 6:17 39

A lying tongue 6:17a A heart that deviseth Wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 6:18 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth Discord among brethren. 6:19 A false witness that speakest lies, 6:19a And he that soweth Discord among brethren. 6:19b Witness 6:19a Brethren 6:19b 40

My son, keep thy father s Commandment, and forsake not the Law of thy mother: 6:20 Mother 6:20 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. 6:21 When thou goest, it shall lead thee: when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; 6:22a And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. 6:22b For the Commandment is a lamp; and the Law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 6:23 And reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 6:23c To keep thee from the Evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 6:24 41

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 6:25 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: 6:26a And the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. 6:26b Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? 6:27 (Note: The answer is NO. Always count the cost, asking yourself Is it really worth the risk? ) Clothes 6:27 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? 6:28 Upon hot coals 6:28 So he that goeth in to his neighbor s wife; 6:29a 42

Whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. 6:29b Men do not despise a thief, if he steals to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; 6:30 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. 6:31 Restore 6:31a Substance 6:31b But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: 6:32a Understanding 6:32a He that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. 6:32b 43

A wound and dishonor shall he get: and his reproach shall not be wiped away. 6:33 For jealousy is the rage of a man 6:34a Therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. 6:34b He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts. 6:35 PROVERBS 7 My son, keep My Words, and lay up My Commandments with thee. 7:1 Keep My Commandments, and live; and My law as the apple of thine eye. 7:2 Apple of thine eye 7:2a Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. 7:3 Say unto Wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call Understanding thy kinswoman. 7:4 44

Understanding 7:4 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, 7:5a From the stranger which flattereth with her words. 7:5b For at the window of my house I looked through my casement. 7:6 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding 7:7 Understanding 7:7 Passing through her street near her corner; 7:8a And he went the way to her house, 7:8b In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night; 7:9 45

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart: 7:10 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, 7:13 (Note: The verses 11 and 12 were not included in the original manuscript, and thus are not included in this commentary of Proverbs, as evidenced by the parentheses. Remembering the command to not add to or take away from His words. Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32...Proverbs 30:6...1 Corinthians 4:6... Psalm 119:160...Revelation 22:18,19.) I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows. 7:14 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, And I have found thee. 7:15 (Note: Once we determine to truly live for THE LORD, the enemy will direct those that are not His to tempt us so as to shipwreck our faith in GOD. Always be on high alert, for the enemy is like a lion seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 Walk with Wisdom daily, and you will not become a spiritual statistic. Selah.) I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, 7:16a 46

With carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. 7:16b (Note: In Genesis 26:1, 2, THE LORD appeared unto Isaac and warned him not to go to Egypt but rather have faith in GOD to provide for him and his family. The opposite of faith is sin. Romans 14:23 states, Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Since the days of the Bible, Egypt has symbolized sin and was, on many occasions, the object of GOD S wrath. And in the above verse, the linen from Egypt represents the articles of iniquity.) I have perfumed my bed with myrhh, aloes, and cinnamon. 7:17 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. 7:18 For the good man is not at home, he is gone a long journey: 7:19 He hath taken a bag of money with him, And will come home at the day appointed. 7:20 (Note: The parallels are out of this world. No man could have inspired the writings to have had so many occurrences in the natural sense. The Bible, as was written in the Hebrew and translated into English is clearly a supernatural, divinely-inspired book. Only GOD could have inspired this masterpiece. 47

With thirty-one letters on both sides of the cross, representing the year of the Crucifixion of YESHUA, 31 A.D., and in the tomb for seventy-two hours, in chapter 7, verse 20, THE LORD shall return at the appointed time to snatch away His Bride, who is the Church, dead and alive, having prepared herself for the Wonderful Bridegroom, JESUS CHRIST, making His return at The Second Coming of THE LORD. And she will be faithful!!!) With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. 7:21 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of The stocks; 7:22 (Note: A better translation of a fool to the correction of the stocks, taken from the Holy Scriptures / Tree of Life version, like a stag bounding toward a trap. ) Till a dart strike through his liver; 7:23a As a bird hasteth to the snare, 7:23b And knoweth not that it is for his life. 7:23c 48

Hearken unto Me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of My mouth. 7:24 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, 7:25a Go not astray in her paths. 7:25b For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. 7:26 Her house is the way to Hell, 7:27a Going down to the chambers of death. 7:27b (Note: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of GOD. Galatians 5:19-21 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8) 49

PROVERBS 8 Doth not Wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice? 8:1 Understanding 8:1b She standeth in the top of high places, 8:2a By the way in the places of the paths. 8:2b Paths 8:2b She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, 8:3a, b 50

Gates 8:3a At the coming in at the doors. 8:3c Unto you, O men, I call; and My voice is to the sons of man. 8:4 O ye simple, understand Wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 8:5 Understanding 8:5b Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 8:6 Excellent things 8:6a For My mouth shall speak truth; and Wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8:7 All the words of My mouth are in Righteousness:there is nothing froward or perverse in them. 8:8 51

All the Words of My mouth are in Righteousness 8:8a They are all plain to him that understandeth, 8:9a Understandeth 8:9a And right to them that find knowledge. 8:9b Receive My instruction, and not silver; 8:10a And knowledge rather than choice gold. 8:10b For Wisdom is better than rubies; 8:11 52

And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. 8:11b I, Wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 8:12 (Note: Another translation finishes the verse with the following... and acquire knowledge with discretion. Holy Scriptures / Tree of Life Version Bible) The fear of THE LORD is to hate Evil: Pride and arrogancy, and the Evil way, And the froward mouth, DO I HATE!!! 8:13 (Note: The meaning of the word froward is perverse; contrary; stubborn; going against what is wanted; a deliberate or obstinate desire to behave in a way that is unreasonable or unacceptable, often in spite of the consequences.) Counsel is Mine, and sound Wisdom: 8:14a I AM UNDERSTANDING; 8:14b 53

Understanding 8:14b I have strength. 8:14c By Me kings reign, and princes decree Justice. 8:15 By Me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. 8:16 Judges of the earth 8:16 (Note: When the Mashiach / Messiah establishes the Kingdom of GOD on earth during the Millennium, the saints of GOD will judge the world. 1 Corinthians 6:2, 3 states, Do ye not know that the saints shall 54

judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smaller matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life? ) I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me. 8:17 I love them that love Me 8:17a (Note: These simple words say it all. The relationship between GOD and His creation is based on our love for Him and His love for us. Plain and simple. We love Him because of Who He is...and He loves us because of who we are---made in His Image. NOTHING COMPARES TO THE LOVE WE HAVE FOR OUR GOD. CHRIST ALONE. MAY HE ALWAYS FIND US FAITHFUL. THE LOVE OF JESUS IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION...I WILL NEVER FIND ADEQUATE WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY LOVE FOR YESHUA. IT IS VERY FULFILLING!!!) Riches and Honor are with Me; yea, durable riches and Righteousness. 8:18 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and My revenue than choice silver. 8:19 I lead in the way of Righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 8:20 55

That I may cause those that love Me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 8:21 Substance 8:21 THE LORD possessed Me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. 8:22 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 8:23 Earth 8:23 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; 8:24a When there were no fountains abounding with water. 8:24b 56

Before the mountains were settled, before the hill was I brought forth: 8:25 Before the mountains were settled 8:25a While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, 8:26a Nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 8:26b When He prepared the heavens, I was there: 8:27a He set a compass upon the face of the depth: 8:27b When He established the clouds above: 8:28a 57

When He strengthened the fountains of the deep: 8:28b When He gave to the sea His decree, 8:29a That the waters should not pass His Commandment: 8:29b When He appointed foundations of the earth. 8:29c Then I was by Him, as One brought up with Him: 8:30a And I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him; 8:30b Rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth; 8:31a And my delights were with the sons of men. 8:31b 58

Therefore hearken unto Me, O ye children: 8:32a Blessed are they that keep My ways. 8:32 Hear instruction, 8:33 And be Wise, and refuse it not. 8:33 Blessed is the man that heareth Me, 8:34a Watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors. 8:34b, c For whoso findeth Me findeth life, 8:35a And shall obtain favor of THE LORD. 8:35 59

But he that Sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: 8:36a All they that hate Me love death. 8:36a PROVERBS 9 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her Seven Pillars: 9:1 Wisdom hath builded 9:1a She hath hewn out her Seven Pillars 9:1b 60

She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. 9:2 She hath sent forth her maidens: 9:3a She crieth upon the highest places of the city. 9:3b Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: 9:4a As for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 9:4b Wanteth 9:4b Understanding 9:4b 61

Come, eatof My bread, 9:5a And drink of the wine which I have mingled. 9:5b Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of Understanding. 9:6 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself Shame: 9:7a And he that rebuketh a Wicked man getteth himself a blot. 9:7b Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a Wise man, and he will love thee. 9:8 Give instruction to a Wise man, and he will be yet Wiser; teach a Just man, and he will increase in Learning. 9:9 62

The fear of THE LORD is the beginning of Wisdom: 9:10a Fear of the LORD 9:10a And the knowledge of the Holy is understanding. 9:10b Understanding 9:10b For by Me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. 9:11 If thou be Wise, thou shalt be Wise for thyself; 9:12a 63

But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. 9:12b A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. 9:13 For she sitteth at the door of her house, 9:14a On a seat in the high places of the city, 9:14b To call passengers who go right on their ways: 9:15 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: 9:16a And as for him that wanteth understanding, 9:16b (Note: Or rather, that lacked understanding...tree of Life Version Bible) 64

She saith to him, 9:16c Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is Pleasant. 9:17 But he knoweth not that the Dead are there; 9:18a And that her guests are in the depths of Hell. 9:18b PROVERBS 10 The Proverbs of Solomon A Wise son maketh a glad father: 10:1a, b But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. 10:1c 65

Treasures of Wickedness profit nothing: but Righteousness delivereth from Death. 10:2 THE LORD will suffer not the soul of the Righteous to famish: 10:3a Righteous 10:3a But He casteth away the substance of the Wicked. 10:3b Substance 10:3b He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: 10:4a But the hand of the diligent maketh rich. 10:4b He that gathereth in summer is a Wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth SHAME. 10:5 Blessings are upon the head of the Just: 10:6a 66

But violence covereth the mouth of the Wicked. 10:6b The memory of the Just is blessed: 10:7a But the name of the Wicked shall rot. 10:7b The wise in heart will receive Commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. 10:8 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. 10:9 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall. 10:10 The mouth of a Righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the Wicked. 10:11 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all Sins. 10:12 In the lips of him that hath understanding, Wisdom is found: 10:13a But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. 10:13b 67

Understanding 10:13a, b Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near Destruction. 10:14 The rich man s wealth is his strong city: 10:15a The Destruction of the poor is their poverty. 10:15b The labor of the Righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the Wicked to Sin. 10:16 The labor of the Righteous tendeth to life 10:16a Righteous 10:16a The fruit of the Wicked to Sin 10:16b 68

He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: 10:17a But he that refuseth reproof erreth. 10:17b He that hideth hatred with lying lips, 10:18a And he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. 10:18b In the multitude of words there wanteth not Sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. 10:19 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the Wicked is little worth. 10:20 69

The lips of the Righteous feed many: 10:21a But fools die for want of Wisdom. 10:21b (Note: Or, lack of Wisdom Tree of Life Version Bible) The blessing of THE LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it. 10:22 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath Wisdom. 10:23 Understanding 10:23b The fear of the Wicked, it shall come upon him: 10:24a 70

But the desire of the Righteous shall be granted. 10:24b Righteous 10:24b As the whirlwind passeth, so is the Wicked no more: 10:25a But the Righteous is an everlasting foundation. 10:25b Righteous 10:25b As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. 10:26 The fear of THE LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the Wicked shall be shortened. 10:27 Fear of the LORD 10:27a 71

The hope of the Righteous shall be gladness: 10:28a Righteous 10:28a But the expectation of the Wicked shall perish. 10:28b The Way of THE LORD is strength to the upright: 10:29a But Destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 10:29b The Righteous shall never be removed: but the Wicked shall not inhabit the earth. 10:30a Righteous 10:30a 72

The Wicked shall not inhabit the earth 10:30b The mouth of the Just bringeth forth Wisdom: but the perverse tongue shall be cut out. 10:31 The lips of the Righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the Wicked speaketh frowardness. 10:32 Righteous 10:32a PROVERBS 11 A false balance is abomination to THE LORD: 11:1a But a just weight is His delight. 11:1b When Pride cometh, then cometh Shame: 11:2a 73
