3 Proverbs Chapter Three Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: What is the son not suppose to forget and keep in his heart? Directions: Write what the son is not suppose to forget and keep in his heart (one on each square). Next, cut out booklet. Fold flaps on dotted lines so they both cover the middle square. Glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. What three things will the law and commandments add to you? Directions:Write the three things the law and commandments will add to you write one on each octagon. Next, cut out booklet and fold accordion style on dotted lines and glue into lapbook.
4 Proverbs 3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart. What are you not suppose to let forsake you? Directions: For booklet. Cut out and fold in half. Write inside fold on dotted line and glue into lapbook. What are you suppose to do with mercy and truth? Directions for oval booklet. Cut out, fold in half. Write inside and glue into lapbook.
5 What does forsake mean? To quit or leave entirely; to desert; to abandon; to depart from. Forsake the foolish, and live. Proverbs 9:6. Directions: for booklet to the right. Cut out, Fold in half, write inside and glue into lapbook. What does forsake mean? Directions for above booklet. Cut out and Write Proverbs 9:6 inside. Fold in half on dotted line and write Proverbs 9:6 on the outside of the booklet and glue into lapbook.
6 What is Mercy? That benevolence, mildness or tenderness of heart which disposes a person to overlook injuries, or to treat an offender better than he deserves. What is mercy? For above booklet. Cut out, fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook. What is truth? Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies. My mouth shall speak truth. Proverbs 8:7.
7 What is truth? For above booklet. Cut out, fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook. Write Proverbs 8:7 Directions: For scroll booklets. Cut out both scrolls. Next, write Proverbs 8:7 on the lined scroll. When finished, stack scrolls and staple the scrolls together. Glue into lapbook.
8 Proverbs 3:4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. If you let not mercy and truth forsake you, what will you find? For above booklet. Cut out and fold in half. Write inside and glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. What two commands are given in Proverbs 3:5? Directions for the above booklet. Cut out and fold in half. Write inside and fold on dotted line. Glue into lapbook.
9 Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. What is the command in Proverbs 3:6? What will he do if you do this? Directions for the above booklet. Cut out and fold in half. Write inside and fold on dotted line. Glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. What three things are you told to do in Proverbs 3:7? Directions for above booklet. Write the three things you are told to do in Proverbs 3:6. Write one thing on each flap. Next, cut out booklet. Cut on dotted line stop at solid green line. Next, fold flaps on green lines so that they cover the middle of the booklet. Write Three Things on the outside of the booklet and glue into lapbook.
10 Proverbs 3:8 It (the fear of the Lord) shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. What shall the fear of the Lord be? Directions: Cut out booklet. Write one answer in each square. Fold squares on dotted line towards the middle square so they cover the middle square. Glue into lapbook. What does navel mean? The center of the lower part of the abdomen, or the point where the umbilical cord passes out of the fetus. As the navel is the means of supplying food and strength to the whole body in the infant. What does navel mean? For above booklet. Cut out and fold in half, write inside and glue into lapbook.
11 What does marrow mean? Bone marrow is the flexible tissue found in the hollow interior of bones. The marrow is the center and moisture of the bones and actually determines the health of the bones. In both bones the shaft is hollow, while the large ends are more dense. In the living bone, bone marrow is found in the hollow area which serves in blood cell production. Directions: For booklet. Explain what bone marrow is in lined portion of booklet. Cut out booklet and fold in half. Fold on dotted line so the flap goes up and covers part of the bone picture. Close booklet. On the out side of the booklet write Bone Marrow Proverbs 3:8. Glue into lapbook.
12 Proverbs 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. Honour the Lord And with the Directions: Finish the sentence. One in each square. Cut out booklet, fold in half. Cut on dotted lines, Stop cutting when you get to the solid blue line. Fold flaps over so they cover your writing. Glue into lapbook. What does honor mean? The esteem due or paid to worth; high estimation. What is honor? Directions: Describe what honor is on lined portion of booklet. Cut out both pieces of the booklet and stack them together then staple. Glue into lapbook.
13 What is substance? Goods; estate; means of living. Job's substance was seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels and more. Job 1:3 Describe substance. For above booklet. Cut out booklet. Fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook. What does firstfruits mean? First Fruits are the offering of the first agricultural produce of the harvest. What are firstfruits? For fruit booklet. Cut out booklet. Fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook.
14 Proverbs 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. What will happen if you honor the LORD with your substance? Write Proverbs 3:10. Directions: Write Proverbs 3:10 on lined portion of booklet. Next cut out both pieces of booklet and stack them. Then staple them together on the tab on the left. Glue into lapbook.
15 Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction. What is the son not to despise? What is the son not to be weary of? Cut out above booklets, fold in half. Write inside, glue into lapbook. What does despise mean? To contemn; to scorn; to disdain; to have the lowest opinion of. What does despise mean? For above booklet. Cut out booklet, fold in half. Write inside. Fold on dotted line and glue into lapbook.
16 What does chasten mean? To correct by punishment; to punish; to inflict pain for the purpose of reclaiming an offender; as, to chasten a son with a rod. Describe chasten. For above booklet. Cut out booklet, fold in half. Write inside. Fold on dotted line and glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. For above booklet. Write Proverbs 3:12 inside booklet. Next, cut out booklet fold on dotted line and write Proverbs 3:12 on the outside of the booklet, glue into lapbook.
17 Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Happy is the man And the man For above booklet, describe the happy man by finishing the sentences. Next, cut out booklet. Cut on dotted line, stop at solid blue line. Fold the flaps on the sold blue line leaving the faces still showing. Glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:14 For the merchandise of it (wisdom and understanding) is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. What is better than silver and gold? Cut out above booklet. Fold in half, write inside and glue into lapbook.
18 Proverbs 3:15-18 She (wisdom and understanding) is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. Describe wisdom and understanding. _ For above booklet. Describe wisdom and understanding using the above scripture writing on the lined portion of the booklet. Next, cut out booklets, stack and staple on the left glue into lapbook.
19 Proverbs 3:19-20 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. Describe what the Lord did by wisdom, understanding and knowledge. For above booklet. Describe what the Lord did. Next cut out both clouds, stack and staple, glue into lapbook.
20 Proverbs 3:21-22 My son, let not them (law and commandments verse one) depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion. So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. What will sound wisdom and discretion be? Directions: What will wisdom and discretion be? Write one on each scroll. Cut out booklet. Fold on dotted line like an accordion. Glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:23-24 If the son does not let the law and commandments depart from his eyes what four things will happen? Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
21 Directions: What four things will happen if the son does not let the law and commandments depart from his eyes? Write one thing on each octagon on the right, when completed cut out booklet. Next, cut on dotted lines. Then fold on the solid blue lines so that the flaps cover your writing. On the outside of the flaps write 1, 2,3 and 4. Glue into lapbook. 22 Proverbs 3:25-26 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Directions: Cut out, fold in half. Write inside, fold on dotted line and glue into lapbook. What are we not suppose to be afraid of and why?
23 Proverbs 3:27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Directions for above booklet. Write Proverbs 3:27 on lined portion of booklet. Cut out booklet. Fold on dotted lined so flaps cover your writing. Write Proverbs 3:27 on the outside of the flaps and glue into lapbook.
24 Proverbs 3:28-29 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. What things are you not suppose to do or say against your neighbor? Directions for above booklet. Cut out booklet, fold in half and write inside, glue into lapbook.
25 Proverbs 3:30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Write Proverbs 3:30 Directions: Write Proverbs 3:30 on lined portion of booklet. Next cut out both pieces of the booklet, stack and staple, glue into lapbook.
26 What does strive mean? To contend; to contest; to struggle in opposition to another; to be in contention or dispute; followed by against or with before the person or thing opposed; as, strive against temptation; strive for the truth. What does strive mean? Directions: Cut out, fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook.
27 Directions: Cut out booklets, fold in half and write inside. Glue into lapbook. Proverbs 3:31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. Write Proverbs 3:31. What is envy? Feeling uneasiness at the superior condition and happiness of another. What is envy?
28 Proverbs 3:32-33 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Froward and Wicked Righteous and the Just Directions: Compare the froward and wicked to the righteous and just. Under froward and wicked write the two things it says about them in the above scripture. One in each square below Froward and Wicked. Then do the same for the righteous and just. When complete, fold in half on dotted line. On the outside of the booklet write The Righteous and the Wicked.
29 Proverbs 3:34-35 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Scorners and Fools Lowly and Wise Directions: Compare the scorners and fools to the lowly and wise. Under scorners and fools write the two things it says about them in the above scripture. One in each square below Scorners and Fools. Then do the same for the Lowly and Wise. When complete, fold in half on dotted line. On the outside of the booklet write The Fools and the Wise.
30 What is a scorner? A scoffer; a derider; in Scripture, one who scoffs at religion, its ordinances and teachers, and who makes a mock of sin and the judgments and threatenings of God against sinners. Describe a scorner? Directions: Cut out booklet, Fold in half, write inside. Fold on dotted line and glue into lapbook. What does lowly mean? Humbly; meekly; modestly. What are three words that describe lowly?
