SYCHRONIZING THE HOLY BIBLE (KJV), JASHER, JUBILEES AND ENOCH Story format for easier reading. Duplications removed. From Enoch to Noah By Maralyn B. Dyck Introduction: Dead Sea Scrolls contribution to the story is in italics. My comments are in brackets. HOLY BIBLE: As man began to multiply upon the earth, daughters were born to them. They were very beautiful. ENOCH: In heaven the Watchers (one of the category of angels) looked down upon the earth and saw the beautiful women and longed to have them as their wives. Semjaza, their leader convinced 200 of the Watchers to agree to go with him to earth, each choosing a wife. Semjaza convinced them that only he would bare the punishment if God was angry, so they agreed to go with him. They swore a covenant between them to plan and do this thing. They descended to earth on the summit of Mount Herman in the days of Jared, the fourth generation from Seth, son of Adam and Eve. After descending to earth they spread out and chose themselves wives, even ruthlessly taking some women from their husbands, and then they defiled them and the women gave birth to children; some were great giants with heights up to thirty feet tall. They taught them charms, enchantments, cutting of roots and made them acquainted with plants to use them for witchcraft. These giants quickly consumed all the belongings of men for themselves. When the men could no longer defend themselves, they turned on them and began devouring them; they were cannibals. Their sin did not stop there; they also sinned against birds, beasts, reptiles and fish and later on they even turned against each other and devoured their flesh and drank their blood. Their children became known as the Nephilim. Some became the giants of renown (i.e. like Goliath). HOLY BIBLE: The Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man; yet his days will be 120 years. There were giants in those days and also after that. The sons of God came unto the daughters of men. Some of their children became the mighty men of old, men of renown. The Lord repented that he made man on the earth; it grieved Him at His heart. NOTE: Remember, these children had evil spirits in them from the Watchers and did not have the good spirits created in normal children. These began to be referred to as evil spirits or

demons. When their bodies died, their spirits lived on to continue creating havoc and chaos on earth. ENOCH: The people of the earth laid accusations against them to God and God heard them. Then the four archangels of God, Michael, Uriel, Raphael and Gabriel, looked down from heaven and saw the shedding of blood on the earth and the lawlessness throughout the whole land. They said to one another, Some of the people of the earth are crying out for help to the gates of heaven! They reported these things to the Lord of Lords; all these things that were happening. God knew, of course, all that was happening, but they wanted to know what God was going to do about it, and they wanted to help out the good people of the land. God then gave them instructions that he wanted them to perform on earth. To Uriel: Go to Noah and tell him in My Name to hide himself, then to reveal to him about the end that was approaching. He was going to destroy all the earth and everything on it by a global flood that would cover the entire earth! Noah and his immediate family only would be preserved for the later generations of the world. To Raphael: Bind Azazel, their leader, hand and foot and cast him into the darkness by making an opening in the desert, which is in Dudael, and cast him therein. Place rough and jagged rocks over him and cover him with darkness and let him abide their forever; cover his face that he may not see light. On the great Day of Judgment he shall be cast into the lake of fire. Heal the earth which the Watchers have corrupted; proclaim the healing of all the earth so that not all the children of men may perish through the secret things that the Watchers have disclosed and have taught their sons. The whole earth has become destroyed through the works that were taught by Azazel: to him ascribe all sin. To Gabriel: Proceed against the bastards, reprobates and fornicators and send them one against another that they may destroy each other in battle, for lengths of days they shall not have. No requests on behalf of their children will be accepted, for their children were hoping for eternal life. Each will have a maximum of 500 years. To Michael: Go and bind Semjaza and his associates (other Watchers) who have united themselves with women, defiling themselves in their uncleanness. When their sons have killed one another and have seen the destruction of their loved ones, bind them fast for seventy generations in the valleys of the earth, till the day of their judgment and consummation, until the judgment that is eternal is consummated.

Enoch, the son of Jared, was an upright king who walked with the Lord of Lord in his daily activities, including teaching his people the ways of the Lord, answering all their questions about the Lord. He resolved to separate himself from the sons of men and to hide himself in order to serve the Lord. He secluded himself for days and spent one day with his people. He continued this pattern for many years. During the time he was alone he spent his time praying to and praising the Lord his God. Finally, he began to stay six days, then 1 day with his people. After a few years he would go into seclusion for a month, then later for a year at a time. People began to search for him, but they could never find out where he was as God hid him during that time from their sight. His people loved him, but they also feared him. There was such a God-like awe about him that frightened them. (Remember how the people feared Moses because his face shone so brightly after spending just 40 days with the Lord of Lords on the mountain top!) Somewhere during this time period, God gave Moses a message for him to deliver to the Watchers. He had spent some of days away from the people teaching the Sons of God. His activities had to do with the Watchers still in heaven, the holy ones. These watchers called him Enoch the Scribe. During this time period, God gave Enoch a message for the Watchers who left heaven and caused so much destruction. The message was simple. They would have no forgiveness for their sins. They shall see the murder of their children and make supplication unto eternity. They will not receive mercy or peace. Enoch then went to the Watchers on earth where they had assembled together, and he delivered God s message to them. When they heard God s judgment they were greatly afraid, fear and trembling seized them. They begged Enoch to speak to God on their behalf for they were so ashamed of their deeds that they could not raise their eyes to heaven on their own behalf. He agreed to try. He wrote down their petition, then he took it and sat down by the waters of Dan and read it to God, then he fell asleep. A dream came to him with God s answer, a vision of chastisements and a message to Enoch to chastise them and reprimand them for even thinking God would change his mind. When Enoch awoke, he returned to where the Watchers were waiting for him, weeping, with their faces covered. God delivered to them the message God had given him in the dream. There will be no forgiveness of sins for their children, nor any peace...the same judgment as for their parents. Later, when once again Enoch was talking to his people, just as he had finished talking with them, an angel of the Lord spoke to him wishing to bring him up Eden to teach the Sons of

God, as he was teaching the sons of man. He assembled the people before him again and told them that God was going to take him to heaven. He did not know when, but it would be soon. One day when he was again teaching them, the people looked up and saw a great horse descend from heaven and paced in the air. Enoch told them that it was time for him to leave them forever, never seeing them again on earth. The horse then came all the way down and stood before Enoch before the eyes of all his people! He taught them a few more things, then he mounted upon the horse. Enoch slowly rode forth and all the people followed him, about 800,000 men. He said to them, Men, return to your tents. By staying with me you may die. Some turned back and went home. The rest followed him for six more days. More men finally turned and went back home. Some of the men were hanging onto him and begging him to let them stay with him until he ascended into heaven. He warned one final time that they might die. They stayed with him anyways. On the seventh day he ascended into heaven in a whirlwind with horses and chariots of fire. The kings that had returned home with their men decided to go see if they could find out if Enoch had ascended yet into heaven. The place where Enoch ascended was easy to find. The area was filled with large stones of snow! They began breaking the snowballs apart expecting to find the men and maybe Enoch, but they never found any trace of Enoch or the men that followed him to the last. They were all gone! JASHER: And all the days of Enoch were 365 years. When Enoch had ascended into heaven, the kings of the earth took Methuselah his son and anointed him, making him king over them all in place of Enoch his father. Methuselah acted uprightly in the sight of God. During his whole life he taught the sons of men wisdom, knowledge and the fear of God and he told them not to turn from the good way either to the left or to the right. In the last days of Methuselah, men did turn from the Lord and corrupted the earth, robbing, plundering each other and rebelling against God. They transgressed and corrupted their ways and would not hearken to the voice of Methuselah, but also rebelled against him. The Lord was exceedingly angry with them and the Lord continued to destroy the seed in those days, thorns and thistles were produced which they did not plant. Because the sons of men did not turn from their evil ways, the Lord became very angry and sorry he had even made man. He decided to destroy them, and He did so at a later date.

It was during this time that Seth, son of Adam, finally died. Also, Lamech, Methuselah s son, married Ashmua and she conceived a son, Noah. For a short while the earth around Noah was at rest and free from corruption. Noah followed the ways of his father, perfect and upright. However, it did not take long before men once again turned from God as they multiplied upon the earth, causing the earth to become corrupted once more, filled with violence and evil of every kind. Man made himself into a god, robbing, plundering his neighbors, as well as his relatives. Their judges and rulers also became corrupt. They abused the cattle and animals of the earth and taught the mixture of animals of one species with another in order to provoke the Lord. God saw the whole earth and its corrupted ways, both of men and of animals. JASHER: God said He would blot out man, the birds of the air, together with the beasts of the field, for He repented that He had made them. All men who walked in the ways of the Lord died in those days, before the Lord brought the evil upon the earth. This was from the Lord, as He declared that they should not see the evil which the Lord spoke about concerning the sons of men. HOLY BIBLE: Noah was a just man who found grace in the eyes of the Lord. He was perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God. Noah s wife gave birth to three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. God told Noah He was going to destroy the earth because of all the evil, except for himself and his immediate family, his wife and his three sons and their wives. (Noah quickly found wives for his three sons from among the grandsons of Methuselah, so they could be on the ark with them.) God gave Noah complete instructions to build an ark, a large one, for his family and all the animals, birds and beasts of the field. He gave him the plans. God told Noah to bring every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind, into the ark with him, also two of the fowls after their kind and cattle of their kind and of every creeping thing of the earth after their kind. They would come to him to keep them alive. Noah was also instructed to gather food for himself, his family and for all the living beings and place it into the ark. Noah did all that God commanded him to do. God provided further instructions: of every clean beast and all the clean fowls of the air should be by sevens, male and female, to keep their seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

God told them that the rains would begin in seven days and would rain steadily for forty days and nights. Every living thing that He had created would be destroyed from off the face of the earth. Noah did as God had commanded him. He was 600 years old when the flood waters were upon the earth. Noah and his family entered into the ark to wait for the rains to begin. JASHER: God surrounded the ark with all the animals of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air. Noah was instructed by the Lord to sit in front of the ark. Those chosen by God to be on the ark would come before him and kneel down; these would be the ones chosen to enter the ark. His sons would then take them into the ark to their respective places in the ark. All the others standing before him must be left behind. He had one dilemma. A mother lion with her two cubs, a male and a female, knelt before Him...three of them. She obviously wanted to stay with them. While he was pondering what to do about this, suddenly, the two whelps rose up and chased their mother away and came back and knelt before him. Problem solved. Noah saw this with great wonder. They were taken into the ark while the mother and all the others watched. Two by two the unclean animals, beasts and fowl arrived at the ark. The clean ones arrived in sevens as God had commanded. The animals surrounded the ark at every place to give Noah seven days to get them all into the ark in the places that were prepared for them. Then God shut the door. Still, even with all the warnings of the rain and activities happening during those seven days the sons of man did not turn from their evil ways, but chose to die in their sins, lost forever. As the rains began to fall in sheets and the water started coming up from the ground, the people who had heard Noah s warning, hurried out to the ark to get inside, but the doors were shut and could not be opened because God had shut the door. They called out to Noah to let them in, but he told them they had their opportunity and chose to worship Satan and not God. He said he could not open the door even if he wanted to do so. The other animals of all kinds kept milling around the ark hoping to get inside to somehow escape the water that was rapidly beginning to cover the ground.

Noah kept preaching to them from within the ark, but none wanted to return to God, just wanted to escape destruction. There were about 707,000 people gathered outside. Of course the ark could not have held them all, even if Noah wanted them inside with him. Some said they were ready to return to the Lord, but God knew their real hearts were not for Him, only for escape from the coming flood. The crowds then approached the ark with the purpose of actually breaking their way into the ark. The water was not that deep yet where the ark was sitting. (It most likely rested on a hill.) Finally, the Lord commanded all the other beasts that were surrounding the ark to attack the people and drive them away from the ark and they obeyed. The people, followed by all the animals, began heading for higher ground, still hoping to get above the flood waters that were following them. They scattered in every direction. However, it was all in vain. At the end of the seven days the rain began to fall, the whole earth began to shake, the sun was darkened, and the foundations of the world raged; the whole earth was moved violently, the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared. The ark floated upon the face of the waters and it was tossed viciously upon the waters so that all the living creatures within were tossed about like pottage in a cauldron (stew in a pot). Inside the ark a great anxiety seized all the living creatures that were in the ark, and the ark felt like it would break apart. The animals and birds were terrrified; the lions roared, every living creature lamented in their own languages and were so loud their voices could have been heard at a great distance. Noah and his family cried and wept in their troubles; they were greatly afraid that they had reached the gates of death! Noah cried unto God about all of this, O Lord help us all, for we have no strength to bear this evil that has encompassed us, for the waves of the waters have surrounded us, terrible torrents have terrified us. O Lord, answer us, look upon us with compassion and be gracious to us, redeem us and deliver us. The Lord heard the voice of Noah; He had not forgotten him. By the end of the forty days of rain, all the shaking and breaking up of the earth stopped. The entire world was covered with water, fifteen cubits of water above the highest point of land.

HOLY BIBLE: The ark floated serenely on the surface of the waters. Every living thing or person on the earth died, none survived, except for those in the ark. God kept all of them safe during all of the commotion. The water prevailed upon the earth for 150 days. The sons of men still did not turn from their wicked ways, continuing to rebel against God with their very last breath. God caused a great wind to pass over the earth and the waters began to lower. The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped. The waters continued from off the earth for a long time until it reached the level God desired. (Even today the waters are still lowering bit by bit. This can be seen by watching the Dead Sea level and the drying off of the land above the arm of Aquaba. The land has never returned to its original level, instead leaving great oceans between the continents. No longer was the earth one continent with great rivers and a great ocean all around the entire earth. Fertile lands i.e the Sahara Desert and many other areas, that are gradually giving their fertile areas to the deserts surrounding them. Even in North America large areas are drying out.) The ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat in the seventh month. For three months more the water kept retreating. Forty days after the ark was at rest on the mountain Noah sent forth a raven which went back and forth from the ark without finding another place to land. After a while he sent forth a dove to see if the waters had abated at least from around the ark. The dove returned without finding a place to rest. After waiting seven more days he once again sent the dove from the ark. She returned in the evening with an olive leaf, a sprig, in her mouth. return. Noah waited seven more days and sent her out once more. This time the dove did not During the 601 st year of his life Noah opened the covering of the ark which he had made, and he saw that the water had subsided from the face of the earth. In the second month the earth was dried. On the 27 th day of the month, God told Noah to come out of the ark with his family and all of the living things on the ark. They did so. Once everyone was off the ark Noah built an altar. Taking one of all the clean beasts and of all the clean birds, he offered a whole burnt-offering to the Lord. Jubilees: He placed the fat of an ox, a goat, a sheep and kids, salt, a turtle-dove, a young dove, placing a burnt sacrifice on the altar. He mixed all of the above fats with oil, sprinkled with wine over it and strewed frankincense over the top of everything. The Lord smelled the goodly savour and blessed them.
