1 Du'a Al Mashlool Supplication of the Paralytic This Du'a was taught by Ali bin Abu Talib (p) to a youth stuck with paralysis, due to his ill teatment of his father. The youth was cured of his illness after reciting this powerful supplication. There is no god but You. Exalted are You above what the evildoers say, a great exaltation. O Light of the earth and the heavens! (46) Üô Šø ß$Ö] p* ô^eø Üô ÏøßôùÖ] Äø ô Êô] ø Üô ÃøßôùÖ] È ô ø eô^ ø O ample in blessings, O repeller of adversities, Üô ø % Ö]æø O maker of the breaths of life! (47) ôç» ß%Ö] Ðø Öô^ìø Üô ÏøŠ$ Ö] oø Êô^ ø Üô Ÿ»] ö Äø Úô^qø O He who gathers together nations, O healer of illnesses, O Creator of light and darkness! (48) ݺ ø Îø äü ø» Âø ^._ø mø Ÿ$ Ýô øóø Ö»]æø ôç» rö Ö»]]ƒø O possesser of munificence and generosity,

7 O He upon whose Throne no foot treads! àø n»úô øò» Ÿ»] ø Ýø øò» ]ø àø m» ôçø q» Ÿ»] ø øçø q» ]ø O most munificent of the munificents, O the most generous of the generous! (50) àø m» ôn»rô jøš» Ûö Ö»] ô^qø àø mù ô¾ô ^ß$Ö] ø ø e»]ø àø n»ãôúô^š$ Ö] Äø Ûø» ]ø O the most hearing of the hearers, O the most seeing of the viewers, àø n»ßôúôç, Ûö O the protector of those who seek protections! (51) Ö»] o$ Öôæø àø n»qô $Ö] øã» ¾ø àø n»ëôñô «íø Ö»] áø ^] O the sanctuary of the fearful, O asylum of the refugees, O sponsor of th believers! (52) àø n»fôöô ^_$ Ö] èømø ^Æø àø n»%ôn»çôjøš» Ûö Ö»] 'ø ^nøæô O helper of those who seek aid, O Goal of the seekers! (53) õ m» ô ø Øô ù Òö ^ørø» õ n»uô æø Øô ù Òö ø Þôç» gõ m» ôæø Ø( Òö gø uô ^ ø O companion of every stranger, O intimate of everyone alone, O refuge of every outcast! èõö$«ø Øô ù Òö Àø Êô^uø õ m ô ø Øô ù Òö pæf ^» O shelter of evey wanderer, O custodian of everyone astray! ôn»çô $ Ö] Øô Ë» _ôù Ö] Ñø ô] ø ôn»fôóø Ö»] î ô n» $ Ö] Üø uô ] ø O He who is merciful to old men, O He who provides for small infants! (56) õn» ô ]ø Øô ù Òö Õ$ ^Êø ôn»šô Óø Ö»] Üô» ÃøÖ»] øeô^qø O He who sets broken bones.o He who releases every prisoner! (57) ôn»ïôëøö»] ô ñô «føö»] oø ßôÇ» O He who enriches the miserable pauper! (59) of Ö]ô tö ^jøv» mø Ÿ$ ºn»Šô m$ غ ã» ø äôn» øâø ön»šô ÃøÖ»] àô O He for whom difficult is simple and easy. O He who never needs ºn»fôìø ðõo» ø Øô ù Óö eô çø aö an explanation! (60) ºm» ô Îø ðõo» ø Øô ù Òö of Âø çø aö O He who is powerful over everything. O He who is aware of everything! ô ôùö] Øø ô» ºn ô» eø ðõo» ø Øô ù Óö eô çø aö! RN O He who sees everything. O sender of the winds! (62) ô ^Ûø Š$ Ö]æø ôç» rö Ö»]]ƒø ô ]æø» Ÿ»] ø &ø Âô ^eø ô ^fø» Ÿ»] ô Ðø Öô^Êø O cleaver of the dawn. O dispatcher of the spiritrs. O my provision in hardship! (65) o» O my maintainer in my exile. (72) Ðô n»ïôv» j$ö ^eô o» ãô ÖF]ô Ðø n»$ôçø Ö»] oßôò» ö Ðø n» ô $Ö] pø ô^qø O my adjascent neighbor, O my sturdy pillar, O my God in truth! (76) hø ç» m%]ø ( ö Ìø ô ^Òø hø ç» Ïöû mø of Âø Ìø ö ç» mö $] ø O he who returned Jaseph to Jacob, O He who removewd the affliction of Job! (77) øæ.] ø gô Þ»ƒø øêô^æø O He who forgave the sin of David! (78) ôç» ãö nøö»] p ô m»]ø Úô äünørô ß» æø Üø mø» (àe»] 1ŠF n»âô Äø Êô] ø O He who caused Jesus the son of Mary to ascend and delivered him from the hands of the Jews! (79) lô ^Ûø ôóø Ö» ^eô o F ç» oø Ëô_ø» lô ^Ûø ö ö Ö] oêô ø Þö ç» mö ðô ø Þô gø n»rô ä jôûø O he who aswered Jonah's call in darkness, O He who chose u» øeô ^n& ôâø ^ Þ^Óø ø Moses by spoken words! (80) m» ô» ]ô Äø Êø øæø äüjøòøn»_ô ìø Ýø ø Ÿô F øëøæø O He forgave Adam his slip and raised Idris to a high place through His Mercy! (81) Ñô øçøö»] àø Úôù ^ uç» Þö orf Þ$ O He who saved Noah from drowning! (82)

11 oïf e»]ø «Ûø Êø øç» Ûö $øæø oöfæ» Ÿ»]ô ö á] ø^âø Ôø øâ» ]ø O He who destroyed Aad of the ancient (times), and Thamud, and did ot spare them, (83) oçf» ]ø æø Üø ø¾» ]ø ç» Þö^Òø Ü» ãö Þ$]ô Úôù õ ç» Þö Ýøç» Îøæø And people of the Noah before; certainly they were more unjust and more rebellious, (84) ½õ ç» Öö Ýôç» Îø o FÂø øú$ ø pçf â» ]ø èøóø Ëôiø ç. Ûö Ö»]æø And Al-Mu'tafikah, He also overthrew. (S. 53: Vv ). O He who destroyed the people of Lot, (85) n» ôìø Üø n»âô ] øe»]ô ø íø i$] àô gõ n»ãø ö Ýôç» Îø 1 FÂø Ýø ø Ú» ø æ$ And crushed the people of Shu'ayb. O He took Abraham as a friend! (C. 4 V.125). (86) ^Û n» ôòø o F ç» ø íø i$ ] àô ^f n»fôuø O He took Moses as an object of his Words (87) àø n»ãôûø q» ]ø Ü» n» øâø ồ æø ä Öô! æø äôn» øâø ²ö ] 1 $ ø ] Û$ vø ø íø i$ ]æø And took Muhammad, God bless him and his household, for a beloved! èøûø Ó» vô Ö»] áø ^Ûø Ï» Öö oø iôç. O He who gave Luqman wisdom, (89) å ô û eø Ú( õ uø Ÿô ø o» Çôføß»møŸ$ ^Ó» áø ^Ûø n» øšö Öô gø âô ]çø Ö»]æø And bestowed upon Solomon a kingdom such that may not befit anyone after him! (S.38: v.35). (90) éô øeô^førø Ö»] Õô ç» öûö Ö»] o øâø àô n»þø»ïøö»]]ƒ ø ø Þ$ O He who gave Dhul-Qarnayn victory over tyrranical kings! (91)

(93) o F ç» Ý(]ö gô»îø o FÂø ¼ø eø ø O He strengthened the heart of Moses' mother (94) áø ] øû» Âô kô ßøe»] Üø mø» tø øêø àø ø u» ]øæø onfv» And guarded the virginity of Mary, daughter of Imran! (95) gô Þ» $ Ö] àø Úô ^m$ ôòø ø àø e»] ±ø v» mø àø $ uø O He who fortified John, son of Zachariah against sins, (96) nøeô ^m$ ôòø ø ø $ eø gø ø ÇøÖ»] o ø ç» Ú% Âø àø Ó$ ø æø and calmed the anger of Moses! O He who gave Zachariah, Üõ n» ô Âø the good tidings of John! (97) x õ e» ø eô x õ e» $ Ö] àø Úô Øø n»ãôûf» ]ô p F Êø O He who ransomed Ishmael from the sacrifice with a Mighty sacrifice! (S.37: v. 107). (98) Øø n»eô^âø áø ^eø»îö Øø fôîø O He accepted the sacrifice of Abel! (99) Øø n»eô^îø 1 FÂø èøßøã» $Ö] Øø Ãøqø æø And placed a curse on Cain! (100)

Thy angels brought near Thou, and all those who obey Thee! (103) äöß»âø kø n» ø ø Û$ Úô ºuø ]ø ^ãø eô Ôø øòø ø èõ øòš» Øô ù Óö eô Ôø And I ask Thee with every asking with which any of those öòø» ]ø æø ²ö that have pleased Thee, has asked Thee, (104) ] ²ö ] ²ö ] èôeø^qø Ÿ»] ô o øâø äüöø kø Û» jøvø Êø Such that Thou has decreed for him compliance.
