1 भ त भ उव च इ त म त पक त वत भगव त स तप व वभ सखमपगत च हत क तमपय ष य व व ह ३२ Śrī Bhīṣma Stutiḥ śrībhīṣma uvāca iti matirupakalpitā vitṛṣṇā bhagavati sātvatapuṅgav vibhūmni svasukhamupagat kvacidvahartuṁ prakṛtimupyuṣi yadbhavapravāhaḥ 32 Now, at th tim of dath, this mind, which is rndrd pur by many and varid spiritual practics, is fr from craving. I compltly offr my mind at th ft of th On who appars as th nobl of th Yadu clan, but who is in rality th all-prvading bing, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, th On who is always full and happy in Himslf, who accpts th yoga māyā just for play, and from whom ths cycls of cration kp apparing. (32) 1

2 भवनकमन तम लवण र वकरग रवर र दध न वपरलककल वत नन वजयसख र तर मऽनव ३३ tribhuvanakamanaṁ tamālavarṇaṁ ravikaragauravarāmbaraṁ dadhān vapuralakakulāvṛtānanābjaṁ vijayasakh ratirastu m'navadyā 33 Th On who has an nchanting body rsmbling th dark bluish tint of th bark of th tamāla tr, who wars a fluttring rob lik th rays of th morning sun, whos lotus fac is surroundd by flowing, curly locks of hair. Toward Śrī Kṛṣṇa, th frind of Arjuna, may I hav unfailing lov fr of worldly dsirs. (33) 2

3 य ध तरगरज वध व क- कच लत मव यलकत मम न शतशर व भ म न च वलस वचऽ क आ ३४ yudhi turagarajovidhūmraviṣvakkacalulitaśramavāryalaṁkṛtāsy mama niśitaśarairvibhidyamānatvaci vilasatkavac'stu kṛṣṇa ātmā 34 My mind rcollcts that uniqu glimps of You in th battlfild: Your flowing, curly hair taintd by th dust raisd by th horss hoovs, th littl dw drops of swat causd by Your xrtions on th battlfild making Your fac mor bautiful, your armor and skin pircd by my sharp arrows. Unto that bautiful armord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, may I offr my body, mind, and slf. (34) 3

4 सप द स खवच नश म नजपरय बलय तव त परस नक यर रथ नव य तव त प थसख र तमम ३५ sapadi sakhivaco niśamya madhy nijaparayorbalayo rathaṁ nivśya sthitavati parasainikāyurakṣṇā hṛtavati pārthasakh ratirmamāstu 35 Having hard th rqust of his frind Arjuna, Śrī Kṛṣṇa immdiatly placd th chariot btwn th two armis. And stationd thr, by a mr glanc th Lord robbd th lifspan of th Kaurava army. Toward that Śrī Kṛṣṇa, th frind of Arjuna, may I hav suprm lov. (35) 4

5 व हतप तन मख नर जनवध मख कम तमहरद व य द षब य रणर त परम त मऽ ३६ vyavahitapṛtanāmukhaṁ nirīkṣya svajanavadhādvimukhasya doṣabuddhyā kumatimaharadātmavidyayā yaścaraṇaratiḥ paramasya tasya m'stu 36 Whn Arjuna, stationd btwn th two armis, saw us, th hads of th Kaurava army, from a distanc, and flt that slaying ths popl would b th gratst sin, h wantd to withdraw from th battl. At that tim, Śrī Kṛṣṇa unfoldd slf-knowldg in th form of th Gītā and dstroyd Arjuna's ignoranc. Toward th ft of that Śrī Kṛṣṇa may I hav dvotion. (36) 5

6 नगममपह य म त - म तम धकतमव त रथ धतरथचरण ऽ य ल - ह र रव ह मभ गत र य ३७ svanigamamapahāya matpratijñāmṛtamadhikartumavapluto rathasthaḥ dhṛtarathacaraṇo'bhyayāccaladgurhaririva hantumibhaṁ gatottarīyaḥ 37 I had vowd that I would mak Śrī Kṛṣṇa tak up arms. To mak my promis tru, you actually abandond your pldg (to rfrain from taking up arms during th war). At that tim, your rushing forth from th chariot, lik a lion pouncing to kill an lphant, causd a trmor in th Mothr Earth, and your uppr garmnt slippd down. (37) 6

7 शत व शखहत वश णदश तजप र त आतत यन म सभम भसस र म ध थ स भवत म भगव न ग तमक ३८ śitaviśikhahato viśīrṇadaṁśaḥ kṣatajaparipluta ātatāyino m prasabhamabhisasāra madvadhārthaṁ sa bhavatu m bhagavān gatirmukundaḥ 38 Evn aftr bing hld back by Arjuna, th On who rushd towards m vigorously to kill m, th Lord who in spit of this act has all grac and affction for m, lt that Lord b my only rfug. (38) 7

8 वजयरथकट धतहयर म न आ त त य ण य भगव त र तर म ममष य मह नर हत गत स पम ३९ vijayarathakuṭumba āttatotr dhṛtahayaraśmini tacchriykṣaṇīy bhagavati ratirastu m mumūrṣoryamiha nirīkṣya hatā gatāḥ sarūpam 39 Th On who was always vigilantly protcting Arjuna's chariot, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, holding th rins of th horss in his lft hand and th whip in his right hand. This bcam a vry uniqu and bautiful vision of th Lord. In th Mahābhārata war, th warriors who did in battl also had a glimps of this bautiful sight, and bcaus of this thy attaind th abod of th Lord. For that Lord, th frind of Arjuna, may I whos dath is imminnt hav total lov and dvotion. (39) 8

9 ल लतग त वल सव ह स - णय नर णक त म न कतमनकतव क तमगन उ द कल य ग पव ४० lalitagativilāsavalguhāsapraṇayanirīkṣaṇakalpitorumānāḥ kṛtamanukṛtavatya unmadāndhāḥ prakṛtimagan kila yasya gopavadhvaḥ 40 During th rāsa līlā, th Lord gav th gratst honor to th gopikās with his gracful walk and gsturs, swt smil, and ys filld with lov. Whn h disappard during th danc, th gopikās, bing blindd by intoxicating lov and th pain of sparation, bgan toimitat his līlā (play). Having discovrd onnss in lov with Śrī Kṛṣṇa, may I hav lov for that sam Lord.(40) 9

10 म नगणनपवयसकलऽ सद स य ध रर जसय एष म अहणमपपद ई ण य मम शग चर एष आ वर ४१ munigaṇanṛpavaryasaṁkul'ntaḥsadasi yudhiṣṭhirarājasūya ṣām arhaṇamupapda īkṣaṇīyo mama dṛśigocara ṣa āvirātmā 41 In th grand assmbly of sags, royalty, and dignitaris who gathrd at th tim of Yudhiṣṭhira s rajasuya yajña, I witnssd how H who was th appl of all ys rcivd th highst honor and worship from all th popl by unanimous consnt. That sam Lord, th slf of all-bing, is Himslf standing bfor m at th tim of my dath. (41) 10

11 त मममहमज शर रभ ज द द ध तम क त न म त श मव न कध कमक tamimamahamajaṁ śarīrabhājāṁ hṛdi hṛdi dhiṣṭhitamātmakalpitānām pratidṛśamiva naikadhārkamkaṁ सम धगत ऽ वधतभदम ह ४२ samadhigato'smi vidhūtabhdamohaḥ 42 Just as th on Sun appars in many ways as sn through diffrnt ys, yt rmaining only on, similarly th world brought to manifstation by th Lord appars to b in th form of diffrnt physical bodis and minds. In rality, th Lord alon is th truth of all of thm. Bing frd from ignoranc, and th rror and confusion born of that ignoranc, I s myslf as not sparat from Him. (42) 11
