1 REMOVING SATAN S SEAT VOLUME ONE PREFACE Personal growth is the lid of your life. Without personal growth you will never overcome obstacles, break barriers or go beyond your programming. You will never be able to say what Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 7 NKJV, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. What is the heart of this book? Never stop growing, never stop reaching, and never ever stop! If you can embrace this philosophy of life, then I can call you my growth partner. As my growth partner, you will come along with me in this journey of building a bigger and better you. If you become bigger and better, the devil will not be able to oppress you, or block the best that God, your heavenly Father, has for you. I like what Isaiah said, regarding the anointing, in Isaiah 10:27 NIV, In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat. When you grow the devil s schemes and traps are much too small for you. Thank God you can live as Jesus lived! As a partner in growth, you will find traps along the way in your spiritual journey. The purpose of the first volume of Removing Satan s Seat is to empower you to overcome every trap, and, more specifically, how to uncover character traits that appeal to specialized demons sent against you. These demons have been sent to stop you from growing and they want to take you out of the fighting zone, and even worse, use you as an agent of evil in the house of the living God. 2 Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. INTRODUCTION God so loved the World that He sent His son Jesus to provide a way for humankind to be restored and reconciled. It was Adam who sold humanity into slavery, but Jesus took our sins and paid our penalty. This allows for humanity to know God once again. Jesus spotless blood allows for us to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt or any feeling of inferiority, as if sin never existed. The Word of God tells us: Colossians 1:13 NIV For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. We were once under the control and dominion of darkness, which means under the power and influence of the devil. The Apostle Paul gives us further insight in the following verse. Ephesians 2:2 NKJV In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience. Once, we were pawns in the hands of an evil master; but since God, who is rich in mercy, sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us, we are now in His Kingdom and under His authority. Colossians 1:13 YLT Who did rescue us out of the authority of the darkness, and did translate us into the reign of the Son of His love. 2 P a g e

3 Notice that we are no longer in Satan's kingdom, but we are in the Kingdom of God, where Jesus is Lord. This is the same Jesus who defeated the Devil in his own arena and at his own game. Thank God, we have a Champion who took the authority back that Adam gave to Satan and returned it to those who believe in Jesus Christ. Luke 4:5-7 YLT And the Devil having brought him up to an high mountain, showed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the Devil said to him, 'To thee I will give all this authority, and their glory, because to me it hath been delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I do give it. Thou, then, if thou mayest bow before me--all shall be thine. Luke 4:5-7 MSG For the second test he led him up and spread out all the kingdoms of the earth on display at once. Then the Devil said, "They're yours in all their splendor to serve your pleasure. I'm in charge of them all and can turn them over to whomever I wish. Worship me and they're yours, the whole works." Both of these translations give us insight into what the devil USED to be. Because of what Jesus did, the devil is not what he used to be. He was once the god of this world s system, and had authority over all human beings. He was once the keeper of the keys of death and hell. However, Jesus was manifested to loose us from the works of the Devil. Because we are the children of the covenant man Abraham we should not be bound by Satan anymore for Jesus has set us free! We have the power to restrain or permit activity on the Earth. If Satan is running around in any area of our influence, it is simply because we are permitting him to do so. The moment we take authority and restrain him from operating will be the minute he must obey and leave our inheritance alone. Since the devil is a defeated foe, he should never occupy a seat of authority in our lives. What is meant by Removing Satan s Seat? To remove Satan s seat is to remove Satan s place of 3 P a g e

4 authority in our lives. You may say, If the devil is already defeated in Jesus, and Jesus has all authority, why then is it necessary to remove his seat? Satan has no legal authority in your life or in the Church of the Living God. However, he can have authority through ignorance of his activity in your life and in the church. Jesus did everything that was necessary to do in the spiritual realm; you and I must exercise our authority on the earth or Satan will take a place, or seat, of authority illegally. Although Jesus has set us free and the price of our freedom has already been paid; we must, by faith, appropriate what is already true in our lives. Thus, removing Satan s seat is an act by which we exercise our authority of what Jesus has done for us. The devil should never have any influence in the life of the Christian. We have the same authority on the earth as Jesus did when He walked on the earth. Acts 10:38 NKJV "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. The devil is the one who had to figure out what to do about Jesus. In most Christians lives, it is the other way around. As Christians, we are constantly trying to figure out what we are going to do about a recent attack. Or even worse we are trying to figure out how to recover from what the devil has already done to us. This is not acceptable! God is bigger than this! We are the conquerors! Satan is the conquered! We are the masters; Satan is the slave! We have the authority: Satan must obey the Christian who knows his place in Christ, who is at the right hand of God! If the above is true, then we must exercise our authority and kick Satan out of our lives and our church. 4 P a g e

5 I have a special love for the House of my God. Because Jesus paid the price for our sins and established the church to care for and mature us, it is the Church of the Living God that will bring us into our rightful inheritance in the Kingdom of our God. This reminds me of the traveler who fell among thieves in Luke 10:30. Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half-dead. Satan is the thief and he seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. As a pastor of a local church, I have found many people in this condition half dead. The story goes on to tell us what typical church folk do. Luke 10:31-32 NKJV "Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. The Priest and the Levite represent those of us in the ministry. Notice they were so busy doing church business that they did not have enough time to minister to those who were in need. Many of us in the ministry are so consumed with the details and busy work of the church, or with the pursuit of becoming rich and famous; we do not have time to minister to a person without that person coming through half a dozen armor bearers. People are dying all around us and our driven condition is causing us to miss the point. Verse 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. Notice he was a Samaritan, a man who was considered a sub-human compared to the superior Jewish race. This man recognized a person in need and had compassion for him. This 5 P a g e

6 compassion moved him to do something about his condition. As a pastor, I recall many times seeing a person under the influence of the devil and doing everything in my power to free them from bondage. Thank God for the compassion of Jesus that grips our soul to touch the untouchable and love the unlovable. Luke 10:34a NKJV "So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. For this half-breed Jew to stop in the middle of this road and help a dying man was a tremendous act of courage and selflessness, because he was at the risk of experiencing the same treatment. Putting aside his own personal fears, he was able to finish the job. Not only did he pour oil and wine and place him on his own animal, but he also took the next step and brought him to an inn. There, he paid for someone to take care of him. We, too, are commissioned by Jesus to go into the highways and byways. Our mission is to find the blind, the lame, and those busted and disgusted (the half-dead). We are to put them in our car and bring them to the inn, or to the church, where we are to take care of the lost sheep. Luke 10:34b NKJV He took out two denariis, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. Two denariis represent two full workdays. For example, this man could have been a traveling businessman. Let's say his average wage was one hundred and sixty dollars a day equaling one denarii. He gave the innkeeper approximately three to four hundred dollars, plus the cost of keeping him in the hotel for two days. Also, any additional expenses would be paid upon his return. This story is a wonderful picture of what we do in church life everyday. We reach out, overcoming our own fears, insecurities, and limitations, to recover strangers and we are willing to pay the expense for their recovery. This is the mission of any Bible believing church. This is why I have such a special love for the House of God. This is why I am committed to 6 P a g e

7 communicate truth, which will keep the Church of the Living God from being assaulted by the devil. Without the Samaritan-type church, the half-dead will die. Together we are going to learn how to continue to grow up in Christ and how to be a positive influence in the House of God. I love the following verse, because it communicates my heart for the House of God and what is expected of us as Christians. 1 Timothy 3:15 AMP If I am detained, you may know how people ought to conduct themselves in the Household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and stay (the prop and support) of the Truth. 7 P a g e

8 Personal Note Galatians NKJV 1:11-12 But I make known to you, brethren that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. Removing Satan s Seat Volume One reveals the personal journey of my life. The Holy Spirit has been my personal growth coach. The following words were spoken to me during a private time with the Lord, my God. The Holy Spirit has you on a personal growth program; He is your mentor for personal growth. What I share with you in this book is from my heart to you. The truths found in this book came to me by revelation. I was asking God probing questions and this book is the end product. My questions began because I was privileged to work in a ministry that impacted hundreds of ministries and churches around the world. Since this ministry s scope was so vast, I would hear about the state of churches and pastors everywhere. This ministry was on the cutting edge in its day. During my time with this ministry, my realm of understanding immensely changed because of the many things I learned about the Church of the Living God. Learning how the Holy Spirit moved and how to recognize and yield to different anointings were some of my greatest lessons. I also learned about the Ministry of Helps, how to recognize church governments, and how true governments correctly functioned. I had access to the best teachings in the land and exposure to some of the greatest leaders of our time. Anyone in this type of environment would be able to pick up golden nuggets of truth here and there. My time working with this ministry was a powerful and great experience. Opportunities to receive impartations from some of the most effective, anointed ministers and churches in the land were always present. 8 P a g e

9 It was during this time that I learned how to ask the right question from my seniors in the ministry and most of all from the Lord Himself. I would hear great stories from the past and the present of what God was doing in the Earth. I would also hear the horror stories of how Satan was annihilating churches, ministries, and ministers. I would hear about how things began in a blaze of glory and how they ended abruptly by the devil. I would see some of these things first hand, and I must say it was very disturbing. I would then ask myself, How could this happen to such a powerful man of God? or How could such a wonderful church be crushed by the enemy? I remember a time when a very powerful man of God came to our church and preached under such a powerful anointing. I was so blessed to sit in the same room with this man. His local church was equally powerful, for it was literally changing its community. He was killed in a plane crash and shortly thereafter the church completely folded like a piece of newspaper. I wept and wept for this man of God and the church that he had established. I felt such anger and so much pain. I felt we had been robbed of a wonderful man of God. This incident and many others caused me to search for answers. It was during this period of searching that I asked the Lord our God the right questions. I asked, Father God, why are churches and ministers defeated by the devil? How can they be so powerful, yet fall and fold so quickly? Why does it seem like we have no defense against the wiles of the devil? God began to show me that the problem was lack of growth development in church leaders. When a leader stops growing, the enemy has a chance to catch up to what I am doing in that church. So the enemy is given too much time to formulate an attack strategy against the church. I asked God, "What is the answer?" He answered, Never stop growing and never say no to Me. Always keep current on the Word of the Lord. Next, I asked, "Why would a leader stop growing?" He responded, They don t do it intentionally. They are a trapped by the enemy. "Trapped by the enemy?" I said. He explained, Yes, they are trapped by pride, rebellion, strife, or envy. When they are in a trap, they cannot grow bigger than the attack of the enemy. 9 P a g e

10 In this book, you are going to find out why the Devil has a seat of authority in the lives of Christians and in the Church of the Living God. You are about to learn why you must never, ever stop growing. Therefore we must learn the proper conduct of the House of God. Without the House of God, those who have been assaulted by the devil will die without ever knowing the Lord and without ever knowing their purpose for being on this planet. I am writing this book to help you be a vessel of honor in the House of God. Let s grow together and discover how to remove Satan s seat. 10 P a g e

11 SECTION ONE GETTING THE BIG PICTURE In writing this book, I had one mission in mind: to assist the believers in their spiritual development and to stimulate their desire to be a positive influence in the House of God. I believe this will ensure God s vision and the cause of Christ will be advanced without delay, and will not be hindered. To remove Satan's seat is to remove his influence from the House of God. We do not want the devil to have a seat of authority in God's House. As a child, I remember playing the game called musical chairs. Let s say there are about twenty people and nineteen chairs. We would walk around the chairs while the music was playing. When the music stopped, we would rush to find a seat. Of course, someone wouldn't have a seat. The person left standing would have to leave the game. In the same way, we don't want the devil to have a seat in the House of God. There is no place for the devil in the Church of God. 11 P a g e
