3 Satan s Mission Satan s mission is to kill, steal and destroy His main strategy is division Divide you from Jesus (that s the bottom line) Divide you from the brotherhood Divide your marriage Divide the church Divide your family..every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: Matthew 12:25

4 Satan s Schemes Lies & deception: Satan is the father of lies. He continually lies, deceives and slanders. Everything he does involves deception. You can find his lies in the bars, clubs, schools and even some churches. Satan tries to alter our perception of reality concerning his influence. Causing us to under estimate his power Causing us to over estimate his power

Psychological cause need love, support, help to think better Moral cause you might feel guilty, angry, hurt, offended, bitter, unforgiving need repentance Demonic cause All bad things are not caused by the devil, but the devil is real and he is trying to destroy your relationship with God. 8 Offences-the devils trap For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. II Timothy 2:26

9 We have no right to be Offended Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalms 119:165 God has every right to hold our offences against us, instead, He forgives every repentant sinner. Offence is an event -- Offended is a decision. God dropped all charges against you, why don t you drop your offences that you are still holding. A Christian has no right to be offended.

11 Temptations Temptations causes you to have too high of view of yourself so you will disobey God. Satan hides God s Justice and Holiness from you and plays up his Love and Mercy. You have no sense of guilt.

17 Temptations Shows you the bait, but hides the hook. See short term pleasure but hides long term pain. Rationalizes sin as a virtue. Becoming bitter over your suffering. Compare one part of your life to another. Unbalanced view of God: Only see God as loving and merciful, but not Just or Holy. Satan uses all of this and more to trick you, to trap you, to get you to fall away from God.

18 Accusations Accusation causes you to have a view too low of yourself, so you will beat yourself down. Satan hides Gods Love and Mercy and plays up God s Justice and Holiness. You are crushed by guilt and condemnation

19 Accusations Causes us to look at our self, (our sin) more than our Savior, Jesus Christ. Satan uses religion to control people by getting them obsessed over their self-life, (sins), and then creating a system to try to conquer self. The Gospel is about the Savior, Jesus Christ and what He did for us, instead of what we do. A child needs ten compliments for every one criticism.

20 Accusations Satan brings up old sins that caused damage to our lives and the lives of others. Tries to cause us to live in regret and shame. (Don t fish in the sea of forgetfulness). Satan causes you to focus on your inner thoughts, feelings, flaws & struggles. Looking at self instead of Jesus. When you pray it is more about beating yourself up than thanking God. Accusations lead to condemnation & guilt which lead to defeat, discouragement & depression.

23 Resist the Devil Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: I Peter 5:8 Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

24 Put on the Whole Armor of God Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 25 The Gospel Defeats Satan s Schemes Know what scheme the Devil is using against you, and put on the armor of God, The Gospel. I am a sinner, but Jesus took care of it at the cross. All my sins are charged to the account of Jesus Christ. I confess my sins to God. I repent and the blood of Jesus washes my sins away. I am loved and accepted by God. God see s me hidden in Christ. I have the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed to me. I have no guilt and no condemnation in Christ. I am not discouraged because of sin.

26 The Savior Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
