In this Bible story, we encounter a brave woman named Abigail who uses her courage to help others in need. Without hesitation, Abigail gathered bread, meat grains, and cakes and took them to David s camp. We know her as a hero because she courageously risked her life and wellbeing to show generosity to others. 3 Jesus Goes to the Temple Luke 2:41-52 Wisdom! This story is from the book of Luke in the New Testament of the Bible. Show your students a Bible. Illustrate how to find this Bible story. This session marks a move to the New Testament. Looking at Luke 2 we meet the child Jesus (Jesus as a child) in the temple. During the time of Jesus the temple was not just a place of worship but also a place of education. Teachers there taught by asking questions. Jesus answered the teachers questions with an impressive level of wisdom and understanding and responded with questions of his own. Jesus didn t dominate the conversation but listened to what the teachers had to say.
