6 SET UP THE ACCEPTANCE PROPERLY DO NOT TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT DO NOT INTEREST YOUR FRIEND THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT TIME TO TALK ABOUT YOUR CHURCH YOUR FRIEND MAY NOT WANT TO HEAR YOUR EXPERIENCE DO INVITE YOUR FRIEND TO TALK ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCE SO THAT HE CAN MATCH WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS WITH HIS OWN EXPERIENCE

7 LET THE BIBLE DO THE PREACHING After the visitor agrees to hear why it is important to have Jesus in his life: Open the Bible to Mark 1:15 Hand the Bible to your friend Ask him to read the passage DO NOT READ THE PASSAGE TO HIM LET HIM READ IT Ask him an appropriate question related to the passage

8 4 KINGDOM STEPS: Step 1: GOD HAS A KINGDOM, HE WANTS US TO BE HIS CITIZENS Mark 1:15 Text: The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel Look at your friend and ask, WHAT ARE THE TWO THINGS THAT WE MUST DO TO BECOME CITIZENS OF GOD S KINGDOM?

9 THE ANSWER IS IN THE BIBLE If your friend does not know the answer, point at the verse and ask him to read it again DO NOT TELL HIM THE ANSWSER Let your friend know that the answer comes from the Bible Most people who visit a church have high regards for the Bible Let the Word get into your friend After he says, Repent.. and believe You ask, Why do we have to repent before we can become citizens of God s kingdom?

10 THE 4 KINGDOM STEPS Step 2: WE NEED TO REPENT Romans 3:23 Text: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Your comment: THE BIBLE SAYS THAT EVERYBODY HAS IGNORED OR OFFENDED GOD DIRECTLY -- DO YOU AGREE?

11 LET YOUR FRIEND SUGGEST AN EXAMPLE OF BROKEN RELATIONSHIP Be careful not to confuse sin with crime DO NOT TRY TO PROVE THAT YOUR FRIEND IS A SINNER ASK YOUR FRIEND: Who is the closest person to you in your family? Most people will say, My mother THEN ASK: Have you ever had any fights with your mother? WHAT DID YOU DO TO REPAIR THE RELATIONSHIP?

12 THE 4 KINGDOM STEPS: Step 3: THE GOSPEL MEANS JESUS DIED FOR US AND WAS RESURRECTED FOR US I Corinthians 15:3-5 Text: Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures Your question: WHAT WERE THE TWO THINGS THAT JESUS DID FOR US?

13 THE GOOD NEWS HAS TWO PARTS The first part: Our sins are forgiven if we agree that Jesus died on the cross for us You may use an example: -- Have you ever received a traffic ticket? -- What will happen to you if you do pay the fine? -- What if your mother has paid the fine? The second part: Christ s resurrected life will be ours if we receive Him into our life Ask: Is there a difference whether Jesus died and never rose again, versus if He died and rose again?

14 THE 4 KINGDOM STEPS: Step 4: YOU NEED TO INVITE JESUS INTO YOUR HEART Revelation 3:20 Text: Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Your comment: DO YOU HEAR HIM KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR? WILL YOU INVITE HIM INTO YOUR LIFE NOW?

15 LEAD YOUR FRIEND IN A SINNER S PRAYER Dear Lord, I thank You for giving me this chance to hear the gospel I agree that I am a sinner I ask for your forgiveness I believe Jesus died on the cross for me I know that He rose again for me Please come into my heart Cleanse me Be my Lord and Savior I want to follow You and serve You all my life Amen.

16 FOLLOW UP ASK, If someone asks you where is Jesus right now, what will you say? INSTRUCT THE NEW BELIEVER TO PRAY AND STUDY THE BIBLE IF THERE IS TIME, INFORM HIM THE IMPORTANCE OF BAPTISM AND SHARING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS INTRODUCE THE NEW BELIEVER TO A CHRISTIAN GROUP
