Those who engage in this work need always to be under the control of the Spirit of God. - CM 12 Disciples of Jesus: "Our calling may not have been our choice... but we are to accept it as God's choice for us." HDL 5 "Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society." Emerson God doesn't choose us because we are talented, successful and righteous... He chooses us because we are so absolutely degraded, lowly, sinful and wretched... Because we know our unworthiness we stay at the foot of the cross... We see that Jesus has exchanged our death for his everlasting life! Along with Martin Luther we say: When I look at myself I don t see how I can be saved. But when I look at Jesus I don t see how I can be lost. You see, God uses broken vessels because, when the vessel is broken they never take the credit. And when the beautiful message is proclaimed no one thinks of crediting the vessel... because it is so apparent that it's not about the messenger... Have you ever met the person whose mission in life is to educate others on what they should eat, or wear? Maybe you ve met that person who is always trying to correct a flaw or error in someone else s life? This isn t Christianity, it is Religiosity. Religiosity is when you are obsessed with all the rules & regulations, but you have no joy. You can't talk about yourself or your experience with Jesus, because you don't have one. It s been well said; Religiosity is for those who are afraid of going to hell. And Spirituality is for those who have already been to hell. There is an eloquence far more powerful than the eloquence of words in the quiet, consistent life of a pure, true Christian. What a man is has more influence than what he says. HDL 7.1 The fact that we are called upon to endure trials shows that the Lord Jesus sees in us something precious which He desires to develop. If He saw in us nothing whereby He might glorify His name, He would not spend time in refining us. He does not cast worthless stones into His furnace. It is valuable ore that He refines. The blacksmith puts the iron and steel into the fire that he may know what manner of metal they are. The Lord allows His chosen ones to be placed in the furnace of affliction to prove what temper they are of and whether they can be fashioned for His work. HDL 9.2 The potter takes the clay and molds it according to his will. He kneads it and works it. He tears it apart and presses it together. He wets it and then dries it. He lets it lie for a while without touching it. When it is perfectly pliable, he continues the work of making of it a vessel. He forms it into a shape and, on the wheel, trims and polishes it. He dries it in the sun and bakes it in the oven. Thus it becomes a vessel fit for use. So the great Master Worker desires to mold and fashion us. And as the clay is in the hands of the potter, so are we to be in His hands. We are not to try to do the work of the potter. Our part is to yield ourselves to be molded by the Master Worker. HDL 10.1 Living in the Potter s hands, Rocky The church must give her attention to the canvassing work. This is one way in which she is to shine in the world. 2 NEWSLETTER TITLE Page 2 For a Solid Life of Success, Avoid These 4 Temptations There are consequences for chasing rainbows. Here s how to avoid them. By: Paul J. Meyer I don't have enough paper to write or tell you the thousand sad stories I know about all the educated, gifted and talented people who fell into the temptation to get rich quick, looked for something for nothing, ceased to persist and do, believed false promises, and took shortcuts. A solid life of success is built climbing stairs, not mounting a rocket ship, and it s sad to watch people chase false dreams or their tails, the wind, rainbows. Are you chasing rainbows? Make sure you stop running after these temptations: 1. The temptation to get rich quick Everybody wants everything instantly instant rice, instant pudding, instant success. My father always said, "Take time to be an apprentice and learn the whole job. It works. 2. The temptation to take shortcuts Taking shortcuts, cutting corners it s a character flaw. You will be building on sand, and it will surely collapse. It always has. And it always will. 3. The temptation to believe that the grass is greener on the other side We need to stay focused on where we are now, what we are doing now our present opportunity, our present job, our present activity. We need to be able to make our current responsibilities work. 4. The temptation to quit too soon History books and storybooks are filled with illustrations and parables of people who quit digging "three feet from finding the gold." Just one more try to complete an invention, just one more call to make a sale, just one more... What happens if you fall into one of these temptations? You might lose sight of your goals, develop a lack of confidence and suffer from an eroding self-esteem. But you can avoid all of that, if you just... Commit to a singleness of purpose. Set and put into writing specific and clearly defined goals. Outline exact action steps you must take to achieve your goals. Repeat daily affirmations to support your goals. Form a support group of your family, friends, and co-workers. Create an accountability factor.

6 Page 6 HOME HEALTH EDUCATION SERVICE TO: ROCKY DAVIS FROM: HHES SUBJECT: CHILDREN S CENTURY CLASSICS DATE: JULY 17, 2015 Lead books will be available in October and the full sets are scheduled to be out in November! Many have been asking about the status of the new Children s Century Classics. The final revisions have been made to the lead book and the file has been submitted to the printer as of today. It will be at least 4 weeks before it arrives. Advertising tear out cards (bi-folds) and lead cards have been designed and are being printed now. The actual 7 volume Children s Century Classics set is going through its final stages of review and editing. Each story has been compared with the Bible and the Conflict of the Ages to be sure of accuracy. Once that process is completed it will go to the printer and it will be a minimum of 8 weeks before we would receive them. A canvass is being worked on and will be made available to the LE once it is completed. I was in our booth at the General Conference showing a sample of the Children s Century Classics to those that stopped by, and I was reassured more than ever that it will be a tremendous set for the LE to sell. Everything from the pictures to the additional online content was commented on in a very positive way. Not only will it have great appeal to the public but it will not be a set that someone can buy cheaper online. One family looked at the Children s Century Classics and then they left. Sometime later they came back and pre ordered a set with the child using their own money. There was one little girl that her parents pre ordered the Children s Century Classics for her. She was so excited expressing animated comments like, I just love these!, I am so excited! and as her parents were already leaving and she was still looking at them, her parting statement was, I am so excited, I can t wait to get these!. We also are eager for the Children s Century Classics to be printed, but we also want it to be the best it can be when it finally arrives. We will do our best to keep you up to date on its progress.
