The world our children live in is full of lights, flash, multi media and entertainment, a place where they can sit back, be entertained and get bored. We want to introduce them to a God that is full of life, who is exciting and yet never changing. A God that will empower and equip them to bring signs and wonders to the earth so that they can reach the lost for Jesus. We want to see children hungry for His presence. At the same time we can t expect children to be operating in the gifts of prophecy or healing or eagerly pursuing Gods presence, when we the leaders are not desiring and seeking God first and foremost in our lives. My prayer is that as we go through these next 8 weeks that you as leaders will have stories of how you have been equipped to bring heaven to earth to share with the children. 2

Grade 0-1 Week 1 What was God thinking? Memory verse: Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6 vs. 10 Bottom line: God only thinks good thoughts about me. Have a person dressed in the Jesus costume, ready. Place the 4 signs in God s heart bucket. The purpose of the story is to explain to the children that God wants heaven to come to earth. Explain Mat 6 vs. 10 when Jesus taught His disciples to pray. When Jesus did miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit He would say the Kingdom of Heaven is here. (Have a child stand in front to hold the signs). Take the signs from the bucket one by one and describe them saying the Lord wants these to happen on earth. Demonstrate what happens when the kingdom of heaven comes to earth. Show the bucket fill with dark water and explain that the water 6

represents all the bad things of the earth like sickness, war, fear. Show them the large rock and tell them it represents the kingdom of God. Place it in the bucket and see how the water is displaced. Explain that the kingdom of God pushes the bad things of this world away when it comes to the earth. We are the ones that bring the things of heaven to earth. Explain that there are ways to bring heaven to earth. Hold up the first key. PRAISE Have someone dressed as Jesus holding a sword. Play praise music and get the children to dance. Let them know that our praise is like a rocket that reaches heaven and Jesus responds by coming to destroy His enemies. Hold the second key up PRAYER. Have Jesus standing beside you with 2 children, rope and scissors. When two or more are gathered in my name, I am there. Have the 2 children praying in agreement. Have Jesus walk up to them and join them. The third key is PROPHETIC DECLARATION (you will need a picture of dynamite) When we speak what God wants us to speak, things will change. Remember that God spoke the universe into being. Describe a situation that needs changing in their schools or families. Have the children come up and speak out what God wants to do in these situations. Explain that these declarations are more powerful than dynamite and that they will blow the plans of the devil up!!!! Key 4 is PROPHETIC ACTS. Explain that doing certain acts brings the Holy Spirit to change things on earth. Use the examples of Jericho and the marching around the walls with the trumpet as an example of a prophetic act. Activity: Making a key ring Items needed: key rings Pieces of small card that have the words, praise, prayer, prophetic declaration and prophetic acts written on them. 1 each for each child 7

1. Get the children to colour in the pieces of small card that have the words, praise, prayer, prophetic declaration and prophetic acts written on them 2. and explain each one to the children, referencing the object lesson 3. Punch a hole through all 4 and put key ring through so that you have made a key ring 8

Grade 0-1 Week 3 God s healing love Memory verse: They will place their hands on sick people and they will get well. Mark 16:18. Bottom line: It s not God s plan or will for us to be sick and to suffer. Story: Items needed Thief costume (balaklava, black tight pullover, black gloves, torch) Jesus costume Balloons Signs saying DISEASE, SICKNESS Big cross Nails, hammer Throughout the story, emphasise that there is no sickness in heaven. God s heart is for healing and health. Opening drama skit. (You will need 3 children for this skit, the thief, the normal child and Jesus). You will also need 2 balloons and signs saying sickness and disease. Have a child walking happily across the front of the room carrying two balloons with the words HEALTH and LIFE written on them. Have the thief come and snatch the balloons away from the happy child. Thief then gives the child the signs that say sickness and disease on them. As the child receives these signs he/she falls to the ground and begins acting very sick. Have the thief laugh at the child. The Jesus character comes now and takes away the signs from the sick child. He then takes the balloons from the thief and gives them back to the child. The sick child gets up, now healthy and happy. Jesus points to the door and the thief slinks away. Jesus then takes the new healthy child by the hand and they can walk away together smiling. Explain the skit and the freedom we have in Christ. 9

Demonstrate with the use of the cross that the sickness and disease signs are placed at the foot of the cross (use nails and hammer to nail these signs to the cross) and that Jesus took them onto himself when he died so he wants us to live free. Make use of multimedia for this part of the demonstration. Encourage the children that because they are saved and possessed by the Holy Spirit, God wants to use us to bring healing to those who are sick or injured. Let them know that they can minister in school, hospitals, shops, home. Anywhere. Create an environment where children can pray for one another, family others they know are sick. Encourage children to always share testimonies of everything that God has done the following week etc. Activity: Making a cross with signs of disease, illness and death pinned onto the cross Items needed Pieces of dole rod that can be used to make a cross. 2 each, one shorter than the other for each child Pieces of small card that have the words, sin, illness, death written on them. 1 each for each child Prestick and string 1. Get the children to glue/prestik/use string to tie the pieces of wood together to make a cross 2. Colour in the pieces of small card that have the words written on them 3. Glue each sign to the cross explaining that these things were taken away at the cross by Jesus when he died. 10

Grade 0-1 Week 4 Steps to praying for healing Memory verse: They will place their hands on sick people and they will get well Mark 16:18. Bottom line: God has given us the power to heal sick people Story: Items needed Bible 2 signs ONE WAY or JESUS CHRIST Briefly review the lesson from last week, God s healing love. Use the multimedia video made. Encourage the children that because they are saved and possessed by the Holy Spirit, God wants to use them to bring healing to those who are sick or injured. Let them know that they can minister in school, hospitals, shops, home. Anywhere. Have two children come to the front and give one sign to each child. Healing is a sign that points to something greater - a relationship with Jesus. (Have the child with the one way sign point it towards the other child with the Jesus Christ sign. By praying for the healing of people s bodies, we can also point them to Jesus so they can be saved and their heart can also be healed. Go through the steps with the children. Put together a funky multi media presentation to help illustrate the steps 1. Smile and act friendly 2. Ask( where they have an injury and if you can pray for them 3. Pray (come Holy Spirit) 4. Speak( leg be healed in Jesus name) 5. Command (100% healing) 6. Encourage (the person being healed to share what God has done by telling others) 7. Invite (them to Jesus if they don t know Him) 11

Activity: Making a caterpillar with lots of segments to his body symbolising the steps we need to take when we pray for someone to get healed. Items needed: circles cut from cardboard, 7 circles for each child with the names of the above headings already written on 1 big circle for each child for the head of the caterpillar Beans for the nose Pipe cleaners for the ears/feelers Koki s/crayons/pencil crayons Punch Split pins glue 1. Punch holes into circles and join them with split pins so that it makes a caterpillar. 2. Draw eyes and attach ears to the caterpillar. Might be good idea to thread ears into cardboard so that they remain attached. 3. Decorate the caterpillar 12

Grade 0-1 Week 5 Journaling Memory verse: Then the Lord said to Moses Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it (Ex 17:14) Bottom line: God wants us to take time to listen to Him and to write down what He says to us. Bible Story: Moses and the 10 commandments (Deut 5:1-22) At the end of the story, place a sign saying God. Rush past the sign talking to yourself about things you have to do, or even praying to God without waiting for an answer. Explain how we wouldn t rush past our friends but we would stop and to talk to them. God also wants to spend time with us. Slow down, stop and sit under the sign. Try to pray to God and to talk to him but you just can t seem to concentrate. Hold up the heart bucket and show it to be full of clutter. Explain that we can t receive things from God when our hearts are full of all the stuff in our lives except for him. Empty the heart bucket and start to quietly praise him, singing softly and thanking him for the things he has done. Then be quiet this is the time we hear from Him. Take the bucket and point it upwards to catch Gods presence. God wants to show us what he looks like to the ears and eyes of our heart. Have the children sit quietly and listen to God. Be sensitive to the spirit and lead the children into their small groups without losing the moment so they can discuss the things they heard with their small group leaders. 13

Activity: Making a journal Items needed: Pieces of A6 paper, about 10 each Hard piece of card for front and back of each journal for each child Stickers, glitter etc to decorate One punch per box String Colouring pens and crayons 1. get the children to write their names on the front of the journal 2. place one piece of hard card and one at the back with several pieces in between and line them up 3. punch holes in through all the paper and thread sting through to make a journal 4. decorate the front and back 14

Grade 0-1 Week 6 2 Doors to freedom Memory verse: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Galations 5 vs. 1 Bottom line: We can live free from feelings of anger and fear Object Lesson: (must be rehearsed before-hand) Items needed A Childs heart bucket Torch Hammer Jesus costume Thief costume Oversized padlock made from cardboard (see instructions) one for throne zone and one for safari park 8 signs- peace, love, fear, joy, lies, unforgiveness, forgiveness, anger Have one helper dressed in Jesus costume and another dressed in thief costume. Have a child hold the heart bucket. Tape peace love joy signs to the bucket, explain that these are the things God wants us to enjoy. Have the thief come in and remove the signs in from the heart bucket and put fear sign on the heart. Over the mic (from behind) have a voice that reads the way the enemy steals these gifts is when he comes to bring fear. Thief puts fear sign on the heart. Bring out the padlock and attach lies sign to it. Lies from the devil are like a lock on a door Give examples of lies on the projection, written out for the older children. Some of the lies the devil feeds us is something bad is going to happen, you are not special, and you are going to get hurt. Again from the mic, a voice reading when we believe these lies it can keep us from doing normal things. We become like a 15

prisoner call a child forward and get them to put the padlock around their necks. Read John vs 8:32 and have the Jesus character come and shine the flash light of truth on the padlock. Speak words of truth over the child such as God has made you in His image, He thinks good things etc. The Jesus character removes the sign and padlock from child s neck and removes fear sign from the bucket and replaces it with joy peace and love Remove all signs from the bucket The door of anger Have a child stand with the heart bucket and say that another door Jesus wants us to break through is the door of anger Place the anger sign on the bucket. The lock of the door of anger is unforgiveness. Place the unforgivenesss sign on the lock and out it around the child s neck. Ask the children for examples of anger that they experience that can result in unforgiveness. When we pray and ask Jesus to come we will be set free. Have the Jesus character come in with a hammer with forgiveness written on it. Have Jesus break the padlock and with the hammer and remove the padlock from the child s neck, then have Jesus remove the anger sign from the bucket and replace it with the love, peace and joy signs. Remind children that God loves them and wants them to stay free Activity: Making a padlock Items needed: - Velcro - Padlock bottom and top cut out onto thin card board. - Contact glue or tape to stick the Velcro onto the cardboard - Pattern of the padlock assembled 1. Get the children to stick the Velcro where the pattern indicates 2. Join the padlock together 3. Colour in and decorate their own padlocks. 16

4. Discuss again how Jesus came to set us free and how we live free Encourage the children to take the padlock home and to think of different things they are fearful of or angry about and get them to remember that the padlock is to remind us that Jesus has set us free. 17

18

Grade 0-1 Week 7 God has good things to say Memory verse: Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy 1 Corinthians 14 vs 1 Bottom line: God still speaks to us in today s world Object Lesson: (must be rehearsed before-hand) Items needed A large cut out that says I love you A radio or picture of a satellite dish Telephone A bible Blanket Rope about 3 meters Signs that say no future, no correction, no scary stuff. Put a red line through it so it looks like a no entry sign. Signs that say- comfort, edification, exhortation Begin the lesson by saying the God is talking all the time. He talks to us because he loves us. Hold up the big heart. Read 1 Corinthians Go on to explain that communication is a 2 way thing and while our speaking is praying, God also speaks but we have to learn to hear him. Use the satellite dish and say that God is talking all the time but we need to turn our hearts toward him in order to receive what He is saying. Point the dish to the wall where it won t work and then point it to heaven where it will work and where you can receive images from heaven. At the same time have the following pictures come up on the overhead, things like a picture of someone s wife, a house. Say things like God can tell you who to marry one day or what house to buy etc. When God speaks through us to someone else it is called prophecy. Use the telephone to teach that God is speaking through us. We can become a telephone when God makes a call to someone else. 19

Move on to the purpose of prophecy and the prophetic boundaries. God uses prophecy for edification- hold up sign. That means to build up the body of Christ. Words have the power to build up, blow the balloon or to deflate and break down. Let the balloon down. He uses it for exhortation. That means to draw near. Have a child at the end of the rope and draw the child in while he holds onto the rope. Explain that this is the way He draws us near to Him. He also uses it to comfort. Wrap a blanket around the child to illustrate the comfort. Hold the signs of don ts up. The ones with red lines through. We don t tell the future, no scary stuff and we don t correct. Even though God knows the bad stuff he speaks only good things through prophecy. Activity: walkie talkies Items needed: - Picture of walkie talkies (get off the internet or a Childs book), one for each child - cardboard - glue - scissors 1. Get the children to decorate the walkie talkies 2. Cut the walkie talkies out and paste onto the card board 3. Cut out the walkie talkies after they have been pasted onto the cardboard 4. Explain to the kids that talking to God is a two way process, we speak to him and we have to learn to listen to him. Recap some of the things that have to happen before we can listen to him. 20

Grade 0-1 Week 8 What language does God speak? Memory verse: Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy 1 Corinthians 14 vs 1 Bottom line: God speaks in different ways There will be time created in worship for the prophetic to flow after the short lesson. Also create space in the small groups for children to pray for each other and flow in the prophetic. Object Lesson: (must be rehearsed before-hand) Items needed Signs with the following written with a small diagram underneathpictures, dreams, visions, colours, bible, numbers, impressions, hearing, words of knowledge, smells Each of the above is a language the God speaks. He speaks to us in unique ways. Hold up each sign and explain how God uses the different ways and give and example of each if possible. Ask the children if they have a testimony of any of them. Get the children to hold up the signs to make it more interactive. Use pictures on the overhead to make it more interactive too, possible sound effects if possible. Use biblical examples for each. Pictures- you can see a picture Dreams- while you sleep (Joseph) Visions- images seen with our mind, they can be like a photograph or a movie Colours- God used a rainbow to make a promise. Different colours mean different things Bible- you may think of a scripture verse or reference Numbers- mean different things in the bible 21

Impressions- feelings or emotions you feel when you are near to someone- Jesus felt the power coming out of him when the sick woman touched him. Hearing- you actually hear the voice of God Words of knowledge- you know something very specific about the person Smell- sometimes children smell things that are meaningful to the other children. Activity: Making a collage of the different ways we can understand His language. Items needed: - Photo copy of the pictures of the different ways God speaks - Red paper (one for each child) - Glue - Scissors - Stickers or other decorative material 1. Get the children to cut each language out 2. Stick the languages any way the want to onto the red paper 3. Colour in the pictures 4. Decorate in between the picture to make a pretty collage or poster Encourage the children to pray for one another and to prophecy. 22

Grade 2-3 Week 7 God has good things to say Memory verse: Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy 1 Corinthians 14 vs 1 Bottom line: God still speaks to us in today s world Object Lesson: (must be rehearsed before-hand) Items needed A large cut out that says I love you A radio or picture of a satellite dish Telephone A bible Blanket Rope about 3 meters Signs that say no future, no correction, no scary stuff. 43

Explain to the kids that talking to God is a two way process, we speak to him and we have to learn to listen to him. Recap some of the things that have to happen before we can listen to him. 5. Get the children to write out some of the key words that describe our heart condition in order to hear from God. 44

Grade 2-3 Week 8 What language does God speak? Different colours mean different things Bible- you may think of a scripture verse or reference Numbers- mean different things in the bible 45

Impressions- feelings or emotions you feel when you are near to someone- Jesus felt the power coming out of him when the sick woman touched him. 49 KickStart Kick Start is designed to keep the kids busy from the moment they arrive in small groups of ideally six. This helps to keep control, keeps kids busy, involved and creates a sense of identity and security with their peers and their leader. Re Fuel Re Fuel involves an ice-breaker/game, telling the Bible story for the day in a way that brings the story to life. Worship and prayer are all a part of this interactive time. It is also important to welcome 1st time visitors, sing happy birthdays and take up the tithes and offerings. It is good to revise the previous week s lessons and the memory verse. X-Celerate X Celerate is the time that the children go back into their same small groups as in Kick Start and do an activity with the leader while being asked questions and discuss what they have just learnt. 7:30 Leaders pray (Team Room) 9:30 7:45 KickStart 9:45 8:05 ReFuel (Worship) 10:05 8:20 ReFuel (Game, Bible Story) 10:20 8:45 X-Celerate (Activity) 10:45 9:25 Walk Down 11:25 For the Leaders As our heavenly father is pouring out His love and Spirit in this hour, we have the wonderful opportunity to raise up a generation that knows the Fathers love and intimacy. My prayer is that as we go through these next 8 weeks that you as leaders will have 49

stories of how you have been equipped to bring heaven to earth to share with the children. 50

Have the Jesus character come in with a hammer with forgiveness written on it. Have Jesus break the padlock and with the hammer and remove the padlock from the child s neck, then have Jesus remove the anger sign from the bucket and replace it with the love, peace and joy signs. Remind children that God loves them and wants them to stay free Activity: Go though the colour photo copied brochure with the children and spend time in your small groups with the children practically discussing the contents. Ask for feedback as you go along and possibly divide the children up into smaller groups so as to facilitate discussion. Ask for testimonies. Items needed: 1 colour brochure for each child. 63

Grade 4-7 Week 7 God has good things to say Memory verse: Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy 1 Corinthians 14 vs 1 Bottom line: God still speaks to us in today s world Object Lesson: (must be rehearsed before-hand) Items needed A large cut out that says I love you A radio or picture of a satellite dish Telephone A bible Blanket Rope about 3 meters Signs that say no future, no correction, no scary stuff. 65

Activity: Go though the colour photo copied brochure with the children and spend time in your small groups with the children practically discussing the contents. Ask for feedback as you go along and possibly divide the children up into smaller groups so as to facilitate discussion. Ask for testimonies. Items needed: 1 colour brochure for each child. 66

Grade 4-7 Week 8 What language does God speak? Different colours mean different things Bible- you may think of a scripture verse or reference 67

Numbers- men different things in the bible Impressions- feelings or emotions you feel when you are near to someone- Jesus felt the power coming out of him when the sick woman touched him. Hearing- you actually hear the voice of God Words of knowledge- you know something very specific about the person Smell- sometimes children smell things that are meaningful to the other children. Activity: Go though the colour photo copied brochure with the children and spend time in your small groups with the children practically discussing the contents. Ask for feedback as you go along and possibly divide the children up into smaller groups so as to facilitate discussion. Ask for testimonies. Items needed: 1. Colour brochure for each child. Encourage the children to pray for one another and to prophecy. 68
