Jump Start Your Spiritual Health Matthew 16:24 Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (NKJV) (a) Pray More Regularly Luke 5:16 Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. (NLT) Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. (NKJV) Matthew 6:5-8 5 And now about prayer. When you pray, don t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get. 6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. 7 When you pray, don t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don t be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him! (NKJV) Mark 9: When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more! 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, Why could we not cast it out? 29 So He said to them, This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting. (NKJV) (d) Be _Led By The Spirit More Regularly Luke 4:1, 14 1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. (NKJV) Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. (NLT) Galatians 5:16 Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won t be doing what your sinful nature craves. (NLT) the big idea: God will help you jump start your spiritual health so that you can have a better life.
