2 INTRODUCTION: It is our hope that Youth groups across Louisiana will join together in prayer for the Youth Evangelism Celebra<on this year. Please let this guide give you ideas, sugges<ons, or tools that will help you in leading your youth in prayer to get prepared for this great event. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, Now is the day of salva<on. (HCSB) As followers of Christ, we can pray that God s people will wake up and realize the urgency of sharing the Gospel. We can also pray that the lost will understand that there is no guarantee of tomorrow. Please keep in mind, that this guide is simply just that a guide. It is only intended to give you a star<ng place in helping you lead your youth group in prayer. On the next page are a few ideas that will hopefully be helpful to you as you seek to lead your teenagers to: pray for themselves, your youth group, and every aspect of YEC. The following 3 pages aver the Ideas page can be used to help guide or direct your prayer to more specific needs so that together we will have maximum impact over every detail of YEC. In spiritual work, everything depends upon prayer. Andrew Murray Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God s infinite grace and power. All that God is and all that God does is at the disposal of prayer. But we must use the key. R.A. Torrey Prayer is as vast as God because He is behind it. Prayer is as mighty as God because He has commided Himself to it. Leonard Ravenhill Prayer allows God to do more in days, hours, minutes, or even seconds than we could accomplish without Him in months, or even years, of work. Dave Earley Prayer filled the life of our Lord while on earth Nothing is more conspicuous in the life of our Lord than prayer. E.M. Bounds

3 IDEAS: When to use this guide: This guide could be used during your weekly Wednesday night worship opportuni<es, during Sunday School, Small groups, or whenever your youth meet consistently on a weekly basis. We suggest that Week 1 be used during the October 29 th November 4 th week, Week 2 during the November 5 th 11 th week, and Week 3 during the November 12 th 18 th week. Examples of how to use this guide: 1. Individually A. Hand out the guide each Sunday for your youth to use in prayer during the week. B. Create a Prayer Path one week for your youth. Using the guide, create a path using sheets of paper that will lead them to pray as they walk along the path. C. Use Prayer Sta<ons that are located in different areas of a room. You could simply use a sheet of paper or be as crea<ve as you want to be with each sta<on. D. Create Prayer Cards to be passed out one week. Different partners pray specifically for different aspects from the guide. E. Create a Grab Bag using the Prayer Cards. Youth grab a card and pray. When that card has been prayed over, they return for another card un<l all cards have been prayed over. 2. Prayer Partners A. Give the guide to be used and prayed over out loud with partners. B. Have youth partner up and use Prayer Sta<ons, Prayer Cards, or Grab Bag as above. Partners could take turns praying. 3. Small Groups A. Hand the guide to a small group (3 to 4), and let each youth take a turn reading and praying. B. With youth sicng in a circle, use the Prayer Cards as above. Each youth grabs a card from the person on their lev. When they finish praying, they put the card down on the floor to their right for the next person to pick up. Youth con<nue to grab cards from their lev un<l everything has been prayed over several <mes. C. Have youth get in small groups (3 to 4), and use Prayer Sta<ons, Prayer Cards, or Grab Bag as above. Youth in the groups could take turns praying. 4. Large Groups A. Use a Prayer Leader. Using the guide, the leader can direct them how to pray in a specific way. This could be accomplished quietly in their own heart, out loud using sentence prayers or individuals simply praying out loud as directed.

4 WEEK 1 To be used during the October 29 th November 4 th Week. ADORATION(Praise): 1 Peter 1:3(HCSB) - Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrec<on of Jesus Christ from the dead. - Give God praise for who He is. God you are amazing because CONFESSION: 1 John 1:8-9(HCSB) - 8 If we say, We have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - Confess your sinfulness and need for forgiveness. God, I confess THANKSGIVING: Ephesians 5:19-20(HCSB) - 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, - Give thanks to God. God, thank you SUPPLICATION:(Asking God to supply needs. For your needs or the needs of others.) 2 Peter 3:9(HCSB) The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is pa<ent with you, not wan<ng any to perish but all to come to repentance. - Pray for the lost to be saved. God, I lih up Psalm 51:10(HCSB) God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. - Pray for the saved to grow, be renewed, and to be fully surrendered to God during YEC. Psalm 25:4-5(HCSB) 4 Make Your ways known to me, Lord; teach me Your paths. 5 Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salva<on; I wait for You all day long. - Pray for Youth Groups to have great par<cipa<on at this event. - Pray for Youth Groups to have an expecta<on to meet with God at YEC together. - Pray for Youth Groups to have a passion to see lives changed for the Glory of God. Proverbs 2:6-8(HCSB) 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He stores up success for the upright; He is a shield for those who live with integrity 8 so that He may guard the paths of jus<ce and protect the way of His loyal followers. - Pray for the leadership and the organiza<on of YEC. Psalms 127:1a(HCSB) Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; - Pray for the prepara<on of YEC. That everything will fall into place according to God s plans.

5 ADORATION(Praise): WEEK 2 To be used during the November 5 th 11 th Week. Revela^on 5:12-13(HCSB) - 12 They said with a loud voice: The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! 13 I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say: Blessing and honor and glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! - Give God praise for who He is. God you are wonderful because CONFESSION: Isaiah 6:5(HCSB) - 5 Woe is me for I am ruined because I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips, and because my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts. - Confess your sinfulness and need for forgiveness. God, I confess THANKSGIVING: Colossians 2:6-7(HCSB) - 6 Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gra<tude. - Give thanks to God. God, thank you SUPPLICATION:(Asking God to supply needs. For your needs or the needs of others.) Romans 10:9(HCSB) If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. - Pray for the lost to be saved. God, I lih up 1 Timothy 6:12(HCSB) Fight the good fight for the faith; take hold of eternal life that you were called to and have made a good confession about in the presence of many witnesses. - Pray for the saved to grow, be renewed, and to be fully surrendered to God during YEC. Ephesians 6:19(HCSB) Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. - Pray for Clayton King. That God will use him powerfully as he speaks the Word of God to us. Hebrews 12:1b-2a 1b(HCSB) let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2a keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith - Pray that there will be no distrac<ons during the messages, and that lives will be changed. Psalm 96:9(HCSB) Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth. - Pray for Rush of Fools. That God will use them to lead us in honest worship of Him. 2 Thessalonians 3:3(HCSB) But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one. - Pray for the facili<es, sound, ligh<ng, and media. Pray that everything will operate without distrac<ons. - Pray for there to be no distrac<ons in the schedule. That each session would run on <me and without problems.

God, thank you SUPPLICATION:(Asking God to supply needs. For your needs or the needs of others.) 1 John 1:9(HCSB) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - Pray for the lost to be saved. God, I lih up Deuteronomy 31:6(HCSB) Be strong and courageous; don t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. - Pray for the saved to grow, be renewed, and to be fully surrendered to God during YEC. Psalm 91:1-2(HCSB) 1 The one who lives under the protec<on of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. - Pray for protec<on over Youth Groups. (travel, lodging, safety at the Cajundome, etc ) Ephesians 6:19(HCSB) Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. - Pray for Brock Gill. That God will use him to capture the amen<on of youth so that they will hear a transforming message of truth spoken by Clayton King. Psalm 19:14(HCSB) May the words of my mouth and the medita<on of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord - Pray for everyone that speaks, or performs at YEC. That God would use them for His glory. Proverbs 5:1(HCSB) - pay amen<on to my wisdom; listen closely to my understanding - Pray for your Youth Group and other Youth Groups to hear God s message at YEC. Jeremiah 1:7a(HCSB) Do not say, I am only a youth, for you will go to everyone I send you to John 20:21(HCSB) Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you. - Pray that we will be honest, repent, and realize that Now is the day of salva<on. 2 Cor. 6:2 HCSB
