Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (LCMC) is a thriving church community about 1 hour north of Seattle, in the friendly town of Stanwood, WA. With its first worship services being held in 1876, it cherishes a rich history and has deep roots in the community, while also actively engaging the new faces and character of a growing Stanwood/Camano Island area. The Stanwood/Camano area has one high school with around 1700 students and two middle schools of about 540 each. Currently, OSLC holds two worship services, one contemporary and one traditional, each Sunday morning, with total attendance averaging 250. Sunday School is held each Sunday, September through May. We also offer a two-year confirmation program with a Confirmation Camp in the summer. We have an all-church Wednesday evening gathering called ConneXion. It is a time to Connect with others. Connect with God ConneXion includes dinner, worship, youth ministry, group time, and an adult study series. Our active Children s Ministry meets Tuesdays with activites for ages K-5. Youth events are throughout the year along with Bible studies and spontaneous activities! The Youth Directors from all area churches meet monthly with the goal of supporting each other and motivating all youth, regardless of church affiliation, to come together for worship and community service. This provides vital support for reflection as you grow your ministry. The church also provides space for meetings for Youth for Christ. Although Youth for Christ carries out a separate ministry, opportunities for collaboration and shared activities are possible. In the past, there have been some shared experiences with other church-related youth groups in the area. Develop and run engaging organized programs for middle school and high school youth, including Confirmation. Work with Youth Ministry Team evaluating and enhancing youth programs following Youth Director s Mission statement and OSLC s E 3 mission statement of Encounter God, Encourage Believers, and Extend His Kingdom. Provide consistent and timely communication with youth, families, and congregation about issues and programs that impact the Youth Ministry of OSLC. Manage youth finances, following Youth Director s budget, including accurate record keeping and receipts, and assist in preparing Youth Director s annual financial report. Coordinate consistent youth service and involvement in church worship and church activities. Develop and maintain relationships with other youth ministries in our community. 3 Qualifications: 1. Have a passion for youth and youth ministry. Believes that God has called him/her to this ministry. 2. Either a degree in education, theology or related field, or anticipating a degree 3. Experience organizing and leading youth Benefits: 1. Youth Director will be paid an appropriate salary for full time work commensurate with education and experience as agreed to by the Church Council: $28,000 to $32,000 depending upon qualifications. This will be evaluated on an annual basis effective the first month of each year. 2. Youth Director will be given annual vacation of two weeks paid leave after the first full year. This vacation time will remain the same until otherwise changed by the Church Council. 3. Youth Director will be given the same paid holidays as the Pastor. 4. Position will be given a set monthly monetary amount for medical, dental, or life insurance benefits. 5. Position will have mileage reimbursement based on current IRS rates up to a set amount. Reporting Relationship 1. Youth Director will report directly to the Youth Council Chairperson. 2. Youth Director will also have a counseling relationship with the Senior Pastor. 3. An initial evaluation will be done at 6 months, then annually by August 31 st as is required of all church staff. The evaluation committee will be chaired by Senior Pastor and consist of the Youth Council Chairperson, Senior Pastor, and Church Council President.
