3 STATEMENTS OF FAITH United Christian School will teach and witness the following concepts of faith. 1. BIBLE We believe that the Holy Bible is the written Word of the living God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and recorded by holy men of old. It is infallible in content, will remain eternally and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried. 2. GOD We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. DEITY OF CHRIST We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. 4. MAN We believe that man in his natural state is a sinner, lost, undone, without hope, and without God. 5. SALVATION We believe that the terms of salvation are repentance to God for sin, and a personal and heartfelt faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in the new birth of a person. This salvation is entirely by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and not of our works. 6. BLOOD ATONEMENT We believe in the saving power through the blood of Jesus and His imputed righteousness. 7. ASCENSION We believe that Jesus Christ ascended to the Father and is presently engaged in building a place for us in Heaven and is interceding for the saints. 8. SECOND COMING We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to this earth. 9. HEAVEN AND HELL We believe that Heaven and Hell are definite places. 10. BODY OF CHRIST We believe the Body of Christ is made up of all who have been born again into the Kingdom of God, regardless of denominational differences. We believe in the spirit of unity while allowing for variety in individual ministries as to their work, calling and locality as directed by the Holy Spirit. 11. HOLY SPIRIT We believe the Holy Spirit to be the third person of the Trinity whose purpose in the redemption of men is to convict of sin, regenerate the repentant believer, guide the believer into all truth, in-dwell and give gifts to believers as He wills so that they may minister as Christ would to us. 12. MARRIAGE We believe that God created man and woman, and that marriage is exclusively between one man and one woman as defined in scripture. 5 Christian Teacher - Job Description Definition The Christian teacher is a called servant from God and is accountable to Him first, then accountable to the UCS school board, school administrator, students and school community. The Christian teacher has a committed understanding, competence and willingness to teach academics and mentor children in the Christian faith. Essential Functions Spiritual Responsibilities 1. Believe that the Bible is God s Word and have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior. 2. Model God s unconditional love in respectful nurturing of each child, parents and coworkers. 3. Actively witness and encourage spiritual growth in children, parents and coworkers. 4. Pray for students and the school ministry daily. 5. Regularly attend and participate in worship, devotions and actively demonstrate the Christian faith. 6. Demonstrate the Fruits of the Spirit in attitude, speech and behavior. Teaching Responsibilities 1. Recognize and honor each child as a unique and beautiful creation of our Father. 2. Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian faith throughout the curriculum and activities. 3. Establish and maintain proper discipline and order in the classroom and on the school premises. 4. Teach classes as assigned following the prescribed curriculum, scope-and-sequence, and standard. 5. Generate and save accurate lessons plans for each teaching day. 6. Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to support student learning and success. 7. Provide a variety of assessments to insure accurate evaluation of student learning. 8. Provide enrichment to core academic and related learning content. 9. Maintain accurate student records. 10. Develop and maintain a positive rapport with students and parents. 11. Communicate successes, challenges and deficiencies to students in a prompt and positive manner. 12. Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered learning environment. 13. Teach and practice school emergency procedures. 14. Know, teach and support school policies and rules. 15. Provide sufficient substitute materials. Professional Responsibilities 1. Support the larger UCS school ministry program by attending extra-curricular events. 2. Know and support the official statements, policies and procedures of UCS. 3. Communicate and represent UCS in an articulate, Christian and professional manner. 4. Maintain a positive rapport with administration, co-workers and the school community. 5. Continue education and professional growth/training. 6. Attend, participate and provide constructive comment during staff planning, implementation and evaluation of topics or events. 5

Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to change in priorities with frequent interruptions. 10. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Qualifications 1. Christian by affirmation of faith and by lifestyle example. 2. College graduate or college degree in progress, preferably in education, who feels God s call to be a Christian teacher. 3. Experience working with children.
