4 Does God expect ME to do Evangelism? For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 NKJV) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19 20 NKJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16 NKJV)

7 Personal Evangelism Methods To Name A Few Evangelism Explosion- asking diagnostic questions & then explaining the Gospel in terms of grace, man, God, Christ & faith Permission Evangelism- gaining permission from the listener & using testimony based presentations of the Good News Friendship Evangelism- becoming friends with unbelievers, establishing a relationship before attempting to address their need for a Savior Intellectual Evangelism- using logic, e.g. 4 Spiritual Laws The Way of The Master Evangelism- stresses the use of God s moral law as seen in the 10 Commandments to show people their sin and their need for a savior. Soul Winning Script Evangelism- uses a script that asks a series of questions that includes the love of God & where the person would spend eternity when they die

13 What Can A Testimony Do? It can be used by God to reach the unsaved It can be used to encourage Believers It can strengthen your faith

14 Cardboard Testimony Spend a minute to reflect on an areas of your life that God transformed BEFORE a challenge that you had, the person that you used to be, negative thought(s) that you had, etc. Write it on one side of the cardboard The Changed Life What did God do? AFTER Who are you now? Write it on the other side of the cardboard

16 Reasons To Write Your Testimony You have a plan- You can say exactly what you plan to say (does not need to be memorized) Helps to keep you on track

17 Making the Connection Culture Post- modern world Values based on what feels right Truth is relative not absolute Questions All religions are equal- pluralism Understand the Modern World Values based on the Bible Knowledge is based on logic & reason Policies & Procedures establish trust Monotheism- One God through Christ

18 Making The Connection Be fully present listen to & understand what people really mean when they speak. Often the words that come out of a person s mouth is just a small part of what they mean. The real question is why? Find common ground- look out for things in casual conversation that could lead Sincere compliments

19 A Plan of Action How do I begin? Preparation 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. (1 Peter 3:15) Keys to Effective Witnessing

20 A Plan of Action Pre-Evangelism Invite FRAN to Church Send an Evite sharing the Bishop current or next preaching series; confirm how the preached word has help you, e.g. been just the word you needed to hear Invite to brunch/lunch on Sunday; if the response is yes, ask FRAN to meet you at church beforehand Ask FRAN if they are attend church anywhere right now; if the answer is no, ask them to hang out at New Psalmist with you on Sunday. Let FRAN know how Bishop Thomas messages energize you & help prepare you for Monday & the challenges that you know you will have to facep

24 A Plan of Action Decision Asking For A Now That You Know the PROBLEM is SIN the PENALTY is DEATH the PROVISION is the CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST THE PROMISE IS ETERNAL LIFE Are you ready to make a decision TODAY to accept Jesus as Lord of your life?

25 SAMPLE SINNER S PRAYER Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner and I need Jesus in my life. I turn from my sins and turn to You. I believe that Jesus is Your Son and that he died on the cross for my sins; He was buried and He rose from the dead. I accept this by faith. I invite Jesus to be the Lord of my life, to reign and rule in my heart. Thank You Lord for forgiving me and saving me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

27 4-P Method Problem- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) Penalty- For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23a) Provision- But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8) Promise- that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10)
