Page 2 We All Are Stewards Stewardship is a beautiful reflection of God, responding with joy to His call to spend time in prayer, to volunteer at St. Teresa of Calcutta and in the community and to commit financial resources to support the parish. We are pleased that the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will be focusing on Stewardship in response to the priorities identified in the Synod. That means that more help will be Ministry of Worship Ministry Opportunities available to parishes. We plan to involve you in whatever we discover so that we can make stewardship a way of life for us all. In addition, the new Gathering Space will be a wonderful resource to share the fruit of our ministries and to encourage greater engagement. Instead of a Ministry Fair, we will feature one ministry every week or every other week. We hope this new direction will spark a greater commitment and response to stewardship in our parish. The Stewardship Committee L1 Prayer & Worship Committee: Those involved with liturgical ministries help lead people to God through the enhancement of worship at Mass and at other prayer opportunities through Mass ministries. L2 Liturgical Committee/Seasonal Planning (subcommittee of Prayer and Worship): Plans and prepares liturgical celebrations that enhance our worship of God during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. This includes establishing a focus, suggesting music, ideas for the environment and order of worship. L3 Cantor/Choir/Instrumentalist/Youth and Children s Ensembles: Supports the community in musical prayer. The adult choir sings at either the 9:30 or 10:30 am Mass and rehearses Thursdays at 7 p.m. Cantors lead the sung prayer of the congregation and rehearse as needed. Our youth ensemble engages young people in leading worship: selecting the music, singing, and playing instruments. Our children s ensemble comes together during important times of the church year to elevate our liturgies. Instrumentalists are welcome at all Masses and rehearse as needed. L4 Resurrection Choir: Offers song and support during funeral Masses. Rehearsal is the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the North Lake church. All are welcome to come and sing no prerequisites. L5 Liturgical Environment: Creates an environment that encourages worship and enhances church seasons and events as well as worship during Ordinary Time. Some parishioners also wash, iron and maintain the holy linens used for Masses. L6 Altar Servers: Youth (grades 4 and up) and adults provide various duties during Mass. Families (parent/child, siblings, or other) are also encouraged to serve together. Training is provided as needed. L7 Hospitality/Ushers and Greeters: Hospitality ministers are often the first point of contact for people attending Mass. Greeters welcome parishioners and guests and help orient them to our parish. Ushers help people find seats, arrange the presentation of offertory gifts and take the collection. L8 Proclaimer: Voices scriptural readings and leads the general intercessions during Liturgies, daily Mass, and other prayer services. High school age and adult parishioners are welcome. Training and materials are provided. L9 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Prayerfully distribute the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ at all Masses and special liturgies. Brief initial training is required. L10 Sacristans: Prepare the elements before Mass and make sure we are ready to worship. They also provide other services like keeping the sacristy clean and in order, cleaning the altar and maintaining the vigil lights and sanctuary light.

St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Page 3 Ministry of Community Building P1 Parish Life Committee: St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Life Committee coordinates special events, which may include a volunteer appreciation evening, a patronal feast day, softball game, Christmas caroling, and church festival. The committee also works with Christian Women, and oversees Friendship Sundays and craft fairs. P2 Christian Women: Women of all ages join our group for monthly gatherings of friendship and faith. Our motto is socializing, spirituality, and service. Scheduled meetings generally held once per month during the school year. Some of the activities we have offered in the past include: a baby shower for Hartford Pregnancy Center; supplying a soup supper for the Lenten series; and attending a play together. P3 Caritas Corner: Provide childcare during our 9:30 a.m. Mass for young children and at parish meetings as available. This ministry is a sign of our commitment to promoting family attendance at Mass and the needs of families with young children. Per Archdiocesan guidelines, each volunteer is required to take the Protecting God s Family workshop. P4 Bakers/Food Preparation: Periodically, for parish social gatherings, funeral luncheons, or other events, parishioners will bring home-baked goods, vegetables or fruit trays to share. P5 Special Meals for Parish Events: Prepare a meal for a small group of guests, i.e., bishops, priests, guests, as they prepare to celebrate a sacrament with us. P6 After Mass Fellowship: Parishioners bake, serve and coordinate these gatherings after Mass approximately once a month at our North Lake and Monches worship sites. P7 Photography: If you are attending an event at our parish and have your camera or phone, take a picture and send it to the parish office. We love sharing evidence of our parish ministry! P8 Parish Picnic/Festival/Patronal Feast Celebration Volunteers: Be part of one of these parish-wide events that everyone enjoys! Lots of helping hands are always needed to make these fun activities successful. P9 Appreciation Evening: This is our opportunity to thank all parishioners who commit their time and talents to our parish family. Help us plan the evening with new ideas and a focus on gratitude for the ongoing service to others. Wo Ministry of Administration A1 Pastoral Council: Provide leadership for the parish. As a consultative body and the primary visioning group in the parish, ensure that the parish is carrying out its stated mission and that the pastoral needs of all parishioners are met. Its focus is on the mission of the parish and not daily operations. A2 Stewardship Committee: Encourage parishioners to embrace stewardship as a way of life. They also help coordinate ministry displays in the Gathering Space, and oversee annual financial pledges by parishioners as well as pledges for service in the parish, reminding parishioners that everything we have is a gift from God. A6 Secretarial/Clerical : Help the Christian Formation Office/Parish Office by performing general office duties. A7 Receptionist/Phone: Make phone calls for special events or answer the phones when needed.

Page 4 A8 Finance Council: Oversees the financial operations of the parish including accounting and internal control procedures. Develops and approves a parish budget in cooperation with parish ministries. A9 Money Counters: Assist in counting the contributions that have been made by parishioners over the weekend. The process involves cash, checks and coins and completing a detailed list of totals. Often counters are coordinated as a team of individuals, so that the same people can work together once per month. A10 Public Relations Committee: Assist staff with the creation of a public relations plan for our parish, utilizing multiple platforms to attract new and retain existing members with messages of welcome and love. Ministry Opportunities A11 Technology Assistance: Volunteers set up and run hardware to support communication during special presentations at Mass and at special liturgy or prayer activities in our Parish Center. A-12 Building and Grounds: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of parish property, buildings and cemetery grounds and plan for future needs and capital improvements. Coordinates several Parish Clean-Up Days each year. A13 Parish Clean-Up Days Several times during the year (spring/fall), volunteers gather to beautify parish grounds at both churches. A14 Building Trade Electricians, carpenters, painters, and handy people are needed occasionally for special projects. Ministry of the Word F1 Christian Formation Committee: Christian Formation is a lifelong process aimed at personal conversion and growth in faith. The committee is advisory to the staff in the implementation and evaluation of our formation programs from preschool through adult education. Meetings are held to plan, review and evaluate our parish programs. Call the Christian Formation Office for more information. F2 Evangelization Committee: Assists parish community to confidently Go and Make Disciples of All. They work to bring about in all members such enthusiasm for living their faith in Jesus Christ that they share it with others. The committee works to raise the awareness of evangelization and help St. Teresa be a welcoming place of worship and a community for all ages. F4 Catechist: Facilitates faith formation sessions for preschool/kindergarten children on Sunday mornings; grade school (1 st -5 th ) Wednesday afternoons; or middle school, high school, and Confirmation on Wednesday evenings from September to May. A catechist is a faith-filled person willing to share their faith, teach and learn with others while seeking to deepen their relationship with God. A catechist may participate in ongoing formation and work toward Archdiocesan certification. Per Archdiocesan guidelines all catechists need to attend Protecting All God s Family training and have a background check. F5 Co-Catechist : Assist the catechist on a weekly basis. Those who want to become catechists will have an opportunity to develop and teach lessons throughout the year. Receive the same materials as the catechist and review materials prior to each session. This is a wonderful way to explore your desire to serve as a catechist. However, not all assistants or substitute catechists need to become catechists. F6 Liturgy of the Word with Children: One Sunday per month facilitate preschool through first graders in music, prayer, and reading the Gospel during 9:30 a.m. Mass.. F8 Adult Formation: Facilitate scripture reflection and faith sharing in small groups using materials provided by the parish. Are you interested in facilitating a small Bible study group? Are you willing to host a small group in your home? We also hold adult education programs in the Parish Center throughout the year using small group table discussion leaders. F11 Mission Experience: The Workcamp Summer Teen Mission Trip is a week-long experience restoring the homes of people who are facing financial struggles, at locations throughout the United

St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Page 5 States, while keeping Christ at the center of every day. Teen and adult participants meet monthly for prayer, planning, and/or fundraising. F12 Youth Ministry: Work with middle and high school students by facilitating spiritual exchange (Bible Study), small group discussion, and social and service opportunities. F13 Vacation Bible School will be offered July in the Parish Center. VBS offers many areas of ministry, including music, Bible stories, set-up preparation, crafts, refreshments and games. Those who have been confirmed are particularly valuable volunteers. F14 Young Adult Ministry: Engage young, emerging adults at various points in their lives to offer support within a welcoming, loving community of acceptance and service. Ministry of Service C1 Christian Concerns Committee: The Christian Concerns Committee focuses on following the teachings of Jesus by loving our Church and our neighbor through service, giving to the poor, caring for the sick, defending the unborn, destitute, and elderly, caring for orphans, feeding the hungry and clothing the naked. C2 Parish Ministry of Care: Provide ministry of care and Eucharistic visits to homebound, parishioners in acute care settings as well as those in nursing home and rehabilitation facilities. Our Parish Nurse provides weekly blood pressure screenings and one-on-one consultations. Advocacy and medical appointment support also provided by parish nurse. C4 Prayer Chain: Provide an opportunity to reach out to others who are suffering or have any need for our prayers. Members pray daily for petitions for the parish community. Intentions are received weekly. jacyntha@voyager.net to request prayers or to join the Prayer Chain. C6 New Threads of Hope: This is a non-profit organization that helps people in the greater Milwaukee community, across our country, and abroad. New Threads of Hope is a link between retailers and manufacturers, and community based social service agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations. The retailers and manufacturers donate their surplus inventory and past season lines of new apparel, footwear, and household goods. New Threads provides the warehousing for the goods, and coordinates volunteers who sort, process, and distribute the goods to those in need! C7 Respect Life: Our committee coordinates, and is directly involved with all the Respect Life activities within our parish. We also expand out on a local community level, as well as state and national levels. We provide financial help to Seed of Hope and the Women s Care Center in Milwaukee. We also support Pro-Life Wisconsin and Priests for Life. C8 Pine Ridge Mission: Pine Ridge, located in South Dakota, is the primary mission for our committee as well as one of the top missions of our parish. Our focus there is Red Cloud School where we provide yearly school supplies for all students in grades K-8. We also provide gifts at Christmas through our parish Giving Tree, new children s clothing and household goods from our New Threads of Hope program, medical supplies and baby items for the Porcupine Clinic and used books and items for Sacred Heart. A yearly trip is made in December to deliver items.

C9 Loaves and Fishes Meals Program: Two times each year our parish is involved with providing a free Sunday meal at Cooperating Congregations in Waukesha. The food is prepared and donated by parish members. Volunteers from the parish deliver the food, set up and serve the meal, then clean up afterwards. C10 St. Vincent de Paul: St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic organization, dedicated to helping the poor. United by humility and compassion, the group serves others with physical, spiritual, social and economic needs, supporting them on the path of recovery and independence. This is done by operating the North Lake Food Pantry in the basement of the Parish Center. They provide holiday food baskets and Christmas gifts to those served as well as rent and utility assistance, clothing and furniture vouchers to their local SVDP store, food gift cards and medical and dental assistance. In addition they sponsor two to four blood drives a year, visit shutins, serve four meals a year to the homeless, pick up and deliver donated bakery to the needy, provide funeral luncheons and coordinate clothing, food and household item drives. C11 Working with Seniors: We have young seniors and older seniors. In order to provide opportunities for all, we need parishioners who have skills in organizing, planning, grocery shopping for a luncheon, facilitating socials, teaching/coaching with computer skills, creating parties and other events, facilitating group discussions or convening educational groups on topics of interest. Donating Online With Safety and Ease Online Giving is now available for parishioners using We Share, an easy and convenient way to save time and support St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish. Donating is simple, safe, and completely secure. With We Share, you can set up a recurring weekly or monthly transaction using your checking, savings, or credit card account. (Because we are charged for each credit card donation, we ask that you consider your donation account to be checking or savings, so that all of your intended contribution goes to your parish.) Donation slips can be printed out on your computer so that you are able to place a recognition of your gift in the collection basket. Remember, you can change your donation any time you d like! Once you are registered (even if it s not through a donation) you can also sign up for parish activities and programs and register for religious education classes, all in one place! Additional information is available at the Parish Office. Thank you for considering Online Giving with We Share.
