There is no other day quite like this one in the church s year. There is no other god like ours. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! READING Romans 5:1 5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. 4 SERMON Pastor Marggi Pleiss-Sippola + HYMN OF THE DAY ELW HYMN 412 Come, Join the Dance of Trinity (Please stand at the conclusion of the introduction.) + NICENE CREED We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,* who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. 6 Preface It is indeed right, our duty and our joy join their unending hymn Please join us for The Lord s Supper All are invited to join us in the Lord s Supper. We believe that Christ is present in the bread and wine and that we receive God s grace and forgiveness through this meal. Those adults and children not communing with us are invited to come forward to receive a blessing. Please receive a wafer and dip it into the larger chalice containing wine or into the smaller chalice containing grape juice. In an effort to be more welcoming, we use only glutenfree bread. + THE WORDS OF INSTITUTION + THE LORD S PRAYER ELW page 154 C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
