After one month they will automatically be removed and, if need be, replaced at your request.

2 Pastor Ama s sermon this Sunday is entitled How to Get Better Every Day. The scripture verses she is using are as follows: PROVERBS 6: There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. 20 My child, keep your father s command and do not forsake your mother s teaching. Bind them always on your heart; fasten them round your neck. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you. For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life. ROMANS 8: 1 6 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.

3 And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. JOHN 3: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God s one and only Son. This is the verdict: light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. 4 The next evening bible study group will be embarking on a new study using the book GRACE by author Max Lucado. The study meets on Monday evenings at 7p.m. If you are interested in joining this group please contact Linn Winterbotham, winterbotham@jps.net He can answer your questions about the study and let you browse the text. The Tuesday afternoon Bible Study group will be reading and discussing a book called Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus. Nabeel Qureshi shares the powerful story of his journey from faith in Allah to faith in Jesus Christ. Along the way, he gives valuable insight into Islam, sharing cultural, intellectual and theological barriers that often stand in the way of Muslims accepting Jesus. However, despite his objections to Christianity, it was the friendship of Christians, the historical facts of the life of Jesus, and divine revelation through a dream and vision that convinced Nabeel of the truth of the Gospel. Nabeel's testimony will deepen your understanding of American Muslims and draw you closer to Jesus as you consider the amazing ways He works today. Growing up, Nabeel never thought he would consider turning from his family's deeply held beliefs in Islam. It was his whole world, his identity. Yet, as he grew into a young man earnestly seeking for God to speak into his life, he was surprised by what he found. What he found was a growing question about the divinity of Jesus, which led ultimately to his conversion to Christianity. Please come and join us in reading and discussing this book! It is my hope that we will all deepen our Christian faith and find a convincing defense of our beliefs. We welcome all who are interested in learning more about the Muslim faith as well as becoming well-versed in our own Christianity. We will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 3:30 P.M. CALLING ALL WOMEN We are putting together a pickup ensemble made up of women who are interested to do John Rutter s All Things Bright and Beautiful for our outdoor service on July 26. Please gather at 8:45 A.M. in the courtyard and we will rehearse this simple two-part anthem in honor of all God s creation!
