Estrella Baptist Association OFFICE W. OSBORN RD. PHOENIX, AZ ESTRELLA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION STRIVES TO R.E.A.C.H. R.E.A.C.H. Relationships Encourage Assist Church Planting Harvest CELEBRATE GOD! Let the Association office know what God is doing in your local church body so we can share the Good News and rejoice together! On Mission Engagement Gary Dodrill, our EBA Director of Missions, has challenged us to be intentionally on mission this year. A vision for 2016 is for each church in the Estrella Association to take part in a mission engagement. Perhaps your church is leading or partnering with another group to go on a mission trip this year. Please give us a small write up about the kingdom work you do, your thoughts on the experience and lives you touched. Take some pictures of the people your ministry encounters and send them to us so we can praise the Lord for using us to expand His kingdom on earth. Perhaps your church has a state or local mission engagement, please send us a brief write up about the endeavor along with some pictures to celebrate how the Lord uses us to reach those right here in the shadows of our steeples. If you are looking for a way to become missional in your church vision, please do not hesitate to reach out to Gary Dodrill, or Pastor James Hayes, our EBA missions director. There are many needs in our own communities, I encourage you to build relationships with the schools closest to your church, attend city meetings and get involved in your neighborhood HOAs. These are all avenues the Lord will open up for the body of Christ to minister to others as we extend ourselves in service. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. (Acts 6:4) I pray you will lead your congregation to experience the power of God s mighty hand moving ahead of us as we serve the needs of those God has placed in our life s circle. Some can go across the seas, come can go across the state, all can go across the street. Let us alway seek opportunities to be On Mission

FBC Garden Lakes is On Mission Engagement with the City of Avondale and their Care First Resource Center for its annual backpack drive. We are collecting backpacks and school supplies, we are volunteering at the resource center in July to help stuff the backpacks and to assist in distribution to the Avondale families in need. A simple way to be the hands and feet of Christ to the community and local resource center. First Southern Baptist Church Avondale is expanding its On Mission Engagement to help tackle the homelessness issue in the West Valley. Pastor Jack Marslender is helping to facilitate a partnership between the faith community, the local government and NGO to bring relief to men and women who want off the streets. The Southwest Valley Homeless Initiative can use your help! We have a goal of 7 churches partnering to house 10 homeless adults each for 1 night a week. We need other churches and organizations to help supply meals (dinner and breakfast), toiletries, etc. This effort is a coalition birthed from the City of Avondale Interfaith Council meetings and has potential to bring the kingdom of God into the realm of the forgotten and homeless. If you want more information on how you can partner and participate, please contact Pastor Jack Marslender at FSBC Avondale is pastor@fsbca.org office phone is website is

SUBMERGED 2 SHARE JESUS! First Southern Baptist Church of Buckeye dove deep and helped the community become Submerged in God s word. Vacation Bible School was held the week of June 6-10 at Bales Elementary School. 170 children passed through the doors to hear the gospel and 6 little ones received Christ! Over 80 volunteers were present to share the love of God with these beautiful kids. Thanks to the amazing Summer Feeds program, all children received breakfast and lunch free of charge. Not only were their souls fed, but their bodies were fed as well! Many children chose to stay for the extended afternoon session which consisted of a fire fighter demonstration, water play day, Christian magician, and many other fun activities. This year, the children took a mission offering each day to help raise funds to send a team from the church to the Bahamas. The mission team will be setting up a VBS for the children there with the help of the $ that was raised! All in all, it was an amazing week filled with music, games, crafts, and the presence of the Holy Spirit!

Refugees in the news! Daily in our news is the stories about the refugees in our world. In fact we are being told that we are witnessing the largest movement of people in modern history Phoenix is one of the top 10 cities in the US people are moving too from around our world. God is bringing the world to our city! One of the ministries in our valley reaching the refuges is Pastor Francis wo pastors an African church. Every week new families move here with very little. Eating Hamburgers for the very first time in their lives, this family is from the Congo Escaping violence in Burundi You can help with: clothes, small appliances, school supplies, kitchen utensils, microwaves, helping with English classes, bus passes, help with gas for those helping them. We seek partners for Pastor Francis as he is called on 24 hours a day to help, pray and give. Let me know if you would like more information: even a $1 a day can help a family

IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS! On March 6, 2016, Harvest America was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, with 82,000 people in attendance and another 180,000 watching from 7,000 host locations! 25,557 people made a profession of faith after hearing the Gospel of Christ Jesus proclaimed.

Arizona Tax Credit Churches can Scholarship Your Families at NO cost! We congratulate Joni & Friends for their success as an approved organization for the AZ Tax Credit! What does that mean for churches who have special needs families who want to go to camp but have limited funds? Pastors need to encourage people in the congregation, not just the special needs families, to give now to the J&F Camp fund to be used by your special families. I have seen and heard the results from individuals that have experienced camp; their lives will change forever. Invest Now, Gary Dodrill Jesus shines His light Everywhere Late yesterday afternoon I wheeled into our boardroom at the Joni and Friends International Disability Center, a little weary from the day's work, and in need of refreshment for my heart. Immediately, I looked through the glass wall and saw the Luke 14 mural down in the lobby -- I was struck by the brightness of Jesus' figure. Right then, I sensed Him whisper, "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." Your everyday life is filled with evidences of God's presence everywhere, and at any time, He longs to speak refreshment to you. Just keep your eyes open, and enjoy the blessing! The above article is a blog entry by Joni Erikson Tada on June 23, 2106, for more of her inspirational writings or info about the Joni & Friends Ministry check out the website

A GRAND View Camp! This June, we had the privilege of making our third (now annual) trip to Grand View Camp. My husband, Randall, and I are the youth group leaders at Ajo Calvary Baptist Church in Ajo, Arizona, where we serve a small, tight-knit group of teens who spend each year anticipating to their week-long trip to camp. This year, a total of 10 teens made the 6-hour trek with us to Grand View, including two friends from Silent Hope Church in Mesa. Grand View Camp is a new, top-notch facility in Eagar, Arizona. Each summer they host a number of teen and junior camps, with attendance open to any youth - whether they re part of a church group or not. Our week at camp is always filled with solid Bible teaching, lots of free-time activities, crazy games, and plenty of friendly competition.

A GRAND View Camp! This year, three of our teens had the amazing opportunity to stay for a second week as leadership campers, or 10:45ers (derived from Mark 10:45). They received additional training sessions during their first week at Grand View, and went on to serve as needed as operational staff/assistant counselors during the following week of junior camp. Each one immensely enjoyed the 10:45 experience, and returned home with new excitement for serving Christ. After five days of an action-packed, Bible-saturated, draining, exhilarating camp experience, our teens were ready to do it all over again. Salvation was accepted by some, steps in spiritual growth were made, big questions were answered, personal relationships were formed and strengthened, and God was glorified. Although we wish we could stay all year at camp, even just one week spent in creation surrounded by people who share the same goal of serving Christ can be a powerful catalyst in a teen s walk with God. And in a youth group leader s too, for that matter. - Holli Wilson

EBA Ministry Resource Network All who believed were together and had all things in common. - Acts 2:44 Who has a snow cone machine? Where can I rent equipment? What Bible studies does the Association already have? We know it takes resources to make ministry work. We need people, finances and stuff. Here are a few resources available to your church: EBA Block Party Trailer - Tables, chairs, shades, coolers, games, snow cone machine, popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, mini bouncy house, etc. Call for list of items and to reserve trailer Let the EBA office know what resources you have or vendors you recommend to add to our ongoing Resource Network. Thank you and God bless. Grand View Camp If your church is looking for an affordable camp / retreat site, check this place out! Grand View Camp has reasonable rates for youth, women and custom camp needs. Located8 miles into the National Forest near Eager, Arizona this facility has a great atmosphere and offers a variety of activities and amenities. Contact Camp Director Matt Wilson for more information (864) or matt@grandviewcamp.org check them out online at

The EBA has used copies of the threeyear Curriculum for the Gospel Project for both Children and Preschool age classes. These can be used by churches for FREE! There is enough material for: Children: 2-3 classes of older, 2-3 classes of younger; with posters, CD's, and leader kits Preschool: 2 classes of each age 3yr through 5-K; with CD s, leader kits, and supplies Please notify Twila immediately if you would like to use these materials for your church; they are undated so they can be started ANY time, (i.e, the beginning in January). This is a wonderful opportunity for churches who love their children but have limited resources to have high quality teaching materials. An unsolicited promotion by a satisfied church At The Way Fellowship Church, we have been using The Gospel Project curriculum for our elementary aged children's ministry and found it to be well suited to teaching school aged children. Our elementary age children's workers have also expressed a desire to continue using this material in years to come. Two elements of The Gospel Project curriculum that are particularly beneficial: (1)The material is aligned to teach the major stories of the bible over a three year period. It starts in Genesis and ends in Revelation, attempting to be as comprehensive as is possible in three years. This helps children to see an overarching view of scripture and not simply stick to one portion of the Bible. (2)The Gospel Project points children toward Jesus no matter what the text of scripture. The authors are intentional about showing how Old Testament events and figures foreshadow Christ. If you are searching for elementary aged teaching material, I would recommend trying The Gospel Project. Kyle M. Hall - Evangelism Catalyst The Way Fellowship Church, Cell:
