1 A Vet s Tears Over America Being asked in a recent if I thought the fires in California were the possible judgment of God, (based upon their recent legislative acts); I set out to give a short answer. Suddenly as I wrote however, tears came to my eyes and my heart began to break for the nation that I love and have served all my life. And the following is what flowed into my spirit. What creates a Superpower? What sustains it? What is a Superpower? Definition of a SUPERPOWER: 1. An extremely powerful nation, esp. one capable of influencing international events and the acts and policies of less powerful nations. 2. Power greater in scope or magnitude than that which is considered natural or has previously existed. Generally speaking, the true definition of what a superpower really is has been blurred in most of our minds by a false image. The Soviet Union used to be a Superpower. They were not however a Superpower because they obtained nuclear capability, as many people may think. (Israel has nuclear capability and Pakistan has nuclear capability, but neither is a Superpower) No. A Superpower is only a Superpower when it is able to economically finance a global infrastructure of influence which affects ALL nations. The Soviet Union was a Superpower Money held that infrastructure together A lack of money was its death One simply cannot separate a Superpower's influence from their money.

2 The USSR knew little or nothing of the Word of God; but even in their Godless ends, they were a people of diligence. They loved their nation. They possessed a national perception of themselves that rose above lesser, individualistic, selfish desires; a people prepared to make personal sacrifice for what they believed in as a country. Thumbing their noses at God however, (as a government, if not altogether as a people); God judged them. He did not however send nuclear missiles raining down on their cities, but instead, He bankrupted their economy. And in a matter of but a few short months, a historically feared superpower turned into an impotent, ignored, and soon forgotten nobody on the greater world-scene. For a time. It is fair to say that America qualifies today as a global superpower, barely... And she got there by putting God first. America is extremely different from the former USSR however because she knows the Word of God, having been saturated in it for nearly 250 years. Her national infrastructure and global perspective have all been built upon a biblical world perspective of righteousness and human equality. And her power of the past two centuries has come from God Himself. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this (power) rejoice not, that the spirits (powers) are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven Luke10:19-20 There used to be great rejoicing and purpose in this land I call my home, because there is nothing that can compare to knowing that you are under the care and protection of the Most High God. For nothing you see, can compare to knowing you are on the good-guy's side and have a divine purpose guiding your very existence. Somehow though, we have tripped over our own blessings and become drunk with our intelligence; our power; and especially our money. Slowly, we began to consider these things ours. We forgot where they came from and why they came to us. We began to use them according to our own wisdom. And as we became a god unto ourselves a subtle evil lodged itself in our hearts.

3 Slowly, the laughter of rejoicing disappeared. Our anointed cloud of liberty lifted. And in its place; a fog of evil insanity enveloped us in dark night. Lamentably, we forgot the Sovereign God who both birthed and blessed us. And intoxicated with power and self-sufficiency, we decided to simply become our own masters, which is to say, our own God. And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of [mine] hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as [it is] this day. And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God. Deut 8:17-20 God is not threatening judgment toward America Beloved - He is in the middle of accomplishing it. Just as the recent California wildfire losses have consumed over one billion dollars of national and state resources; God, in a jealous love of His righteousness, and in answer to the abuses of His merciful grace, has begun to consume away our power; which is money. He is not (to date) raining down nuclear weapons upon us because He is merciful to the innocent. Instead, He is erasing the super off of our power by consuming our economic ability to maintain our place on the world scene (and the basic infrastructure of our own nation) at an alarming rate. "According to analysis, the U.S. has [now] spent about H$604 billion on the warsh, [on terrorism] including $39 billion in diplomatic operations and foreign aid...and this figure "could reach 2.4 TRILLION over the course of this decade." (AP Press release ) One does not have to be a global economist to recognize that this path is not sustainable...

4 On top of these figures, the value of the dollar (inflated in our favor for nearly 40 years by an agreement with the original OPEC nations to lock the purchase of oil to US dollars only), is rapidly declining in the world market. (Read this link and the rest of my article very prayerfully) That oil pact in the early 70's locked the American dollar into place as the reserve currency of the world: Temporarily that is, until now. (Or in the very near future) However, since nations such as Iran, Russia, North Korea, China and Venezuela have modernized by developing their own natural resources; national economic systems; and their own international alliances - Any one of these nations could fore-see-ably de-stabilize the economy of the United States simply by covenanting with other oil purchasing nations to do two things: (1) Liquidate their national dollar reserves (at a loss) and (2) Buy oil provided by like-minded producing nations with Euros, or their own national currencies. (At a long-range gain) With counties like Iran attempting to do this already, (by offering lower prices on oil than other oil-producing nations and accepting currency other than US dollars); a domino-effect of dollar-downfall is almost assured, eventually. Self-Deception Looking at this picture the other day of the Presidents of Iran and Russia standing side-by-side, I thought to myself: One nation, a bully shamed; now returned for revenge. The other, a prophetic end times player, looking to fulfill his near coming moment Never as an American Christian could I have imagined living to see this day

5 None of this is pretty, to say the least, but I love my country. I served nearly 21 years in her military defending her right to liberty and other men's right to equality and freedom. Some may read these present personal perceptions and declare I have turned on her or am condemning her and finding fault with her, but I am not. My personal opinion is that it is actually far too late for fault-finding or the avoidance of our coming downfall as a Superpower. I believe that as a nation among nations, God is about to make us bow our knee before Him even as He did the USSR; because the liberty and blessings He has poured out on us as a gift, have been treated as a right. Our liberty came to us joined-at-the-heart with God's heart. It was a liberty given to us in a divine framework which demanded nothing but remembrance and thankfulness in return. All He wanted was our thanks. We had the responsibility to honor that liberty by being stewards of a righteous example to the world. Unfortunately however, we have forsaken that responsibility. And except for our token gestures and words, we have failed to bring forth fruits of repentance to avoid this present judgment. With tears, I can say that I hate what I see happening. Our egocentric pride and spiritual blindness have made us a laughing stock before the eyes of the world. The only ones who cannot see the true present-day America is we ourselves. Beloved, the annual abortions shamelessly committed in our nation alone are enough in and of themselves to bring our downfall. We have forgotten God as a nation. We have become all talk and no walk and extremely evil in the imaginations of our hearts. And our present God-less steps are leading us directly toward the abyss of economic bankruptcy in a spiritual judgment that far exceeds natural circumstances. Mercies Found in Testings In a shuffle of all possible judgments which God could bring upon us however, this is probably the most measured and merciful judgment that could be shown to America. It will hurt, yes. It will test us, absolutely. But our humbling, not our hurt, is the goal of God's perfect love.

6 It is now a time for mental and spiritual preparation. I write this in the hopes that God may use me effectively in prayer, actions, and through my written words to be an encouraging light; awaking others to adjust their hearts and minds to the realities that are about to overtake us. " But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5: It is my heartfelt prayer that my Nation and the people I love will awake to a 'real intimacy' in their relationship with God. Because when everything falls apart and the pressures come; that relationship will be tested by fire. A Non-Existent Kingdom When that time of testing comes; the sheep will be separated from the goats... Do you know what that will look like? The sheep will have the character to bow down into the suffering with unbelievers, loving them and offering them God. The goats however will loudly, obnoxiously, and intolerably complain and accuse that the unbelievers and government are to blame for their suffering. And that those bad people should be judged; not they themselves. (If you don't believe this, just wait a little while and you'll see.) You ask me; could our Nation be in the birth pangs of God's judgment this very moment? Well... Mark the image of the character differential above down in your memory. And choose your alliances carefully as you judge for yourself. With State Senators suing God in court, blaming Him for every ill afflicting mankind...and with State Governors and legislatures trampling the institution of marriage and the family as millions of acres of their State burn...and with the present presidential candidates more power-hungry than God-conscious as they waltz blindly over the edge of economic sanity... God would seem to have sufficient reason to remove His restraint, if for no other reason, than to save us from ourselves.

7 "Therefore, thus says the Lord, 'Behold, I am planning against this family a calamity from which you cannot remove your neck; and you will not walk haughtily, for it will be an evil time." Micah 2:3 The Righteous, not the Right, will become the testimony and glory of God in the midst of this coming evil time. These people will not be the legalistically self-righteous, but rather those who walk with the Lord in an intimate personal relationship that speaks for itself by the mercy they show for others. They will hurt for evil doers, not relish their demise. They will suffer from the effects of this evil time beside the lost. They will suffer injustices by the world that does not understand their love. And they will suffer even worst things from evil brethren. But they will survive and be a testimony of God's all-sustaining grace. And what of the goats, you may ask? Each of us must examine ourselves. No one has the right to do that. But we must also realize that the time has past to analyze what minimal level of love or obedience will get us into heaven and out of hell. God wants our whole heart. And those who give it to Him and live for the Lord will suffer through this evil time, but will demonstrate through the acceptance of that suffering and the peace in their lives in spite of it, the true power of His grace. Those who spend their time lavishing luxuries upon themselves (while they can) and escaping suffering at all costs (later when they can t) will show themselves for what they really are. (Or rather, aren't) Their finger-pointing toward others, (including God), will include no acknowledgment of their own need for personal repentance. Their self-exalting righteousness will dishonor and reject Jesus' rightful, blood-bought Lordship of their lives. And refusing to share the sufferings of His reproach in this world, they will find no place to live with Him in the next.

8 I pray that you will embrace with all your heart the Lordship of Jesus. There is yet time, but little of it. And my prayer in writing this is that you may know Him as the intimate, faithful Lord and King of your life; and not be found among those who want a place in heaven, but will serve no King.
