F THE ATIMA CRUSADER ISSUE 113 WINTER 2015 Proclaim Your Faith Whole and Entire

PROCLAIM THE TRUTH OF FATIMA AND THE FAITH! When Christ resurrected into Heaven, He did not leave us destitute He sent us the Holy Ghost (See page 35). And when God took Father Gruner to his eternal rest, he, also, did not leave us destitute. He left us the truth of Fatima and our Faith in all his teachings and writings and speeches. This Fatima Crusader is not unlike all those that Father Gruner inspired while he was still with us in body. He left us with a wealth of wisdom, understanding and inspiration to pass on to you under the same strong leadership and Directorship that supported Father Gruner all these years. And the same worldwide experts on Fatima and the Faith will continue updating you with the things you need to know what s going on in the world, what s going on in the Church, and the consolation and inspiration you need to hold onto the Faith whole and entire. Don t Give Up! At our Only the Pope Can Save Washington conference in Washington, D.C., we had been given a prime position in front of the Capitol wherein the Pope and political leaders could not by Coralie Graham, Editor avoid seeing Our Lady s statue and World Peace banners. At the last minute we were moved to a site two blocks away where we could not even see the Capitol and perhaps, by political ploy nor would the Pope or President be able to see FATIMA! A gentleman at the conference asked me, Did that make you lose confidence? My reply: Absolutely NOT! Undaunted, we pressed on, knowing with faith: Now we re on Our Lady s plan this should be very interesting! And it was. We were moved to plot 13 (Fatima s number) and it was the most beautiful site in the entire area with a beautiful water fountain in a flowered park-like setting. And because of this location, we were able to proceed through the streets of Washington, holding Our Lady high in all Her glory as She showered Her Maternal blessings on the passersby and made Her urgent Message known wider and wider. She turned Her rejection from the Capitol into a joyous and blessed event. Have faith in Jesus and Mary. Their plan always outshines our own. Your perceived falters may be the sacrifice Heaven is asking for to save more souls! 2 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

THE MESSAGE OF FATIMA IMPOSES AN OBLIGATION ON THE CHURCH Following is an excerpt of an address given by Father Gruner at Our Lady s Army of Advocates Conference at Chicago, IIlinois in November When one speaks the truth, their words are timeless as you will see in this excerpt of one of the last speeches Father Gruner gave before going to his eternal reward. by Father Nicholas Gruner, S.T.L., S.T.D. (Cand.), R.I.P. Sister Lucy was questioned, why Our Lord would not convert Russia or bring about world peace except through the Consecration of Russia. She asked this of Jesus and He replied: Because I want My whole Church to recognize that Consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that later on, My Church will extend the devotion to the Immaculate Heart and place Her devotion beside devotion to My Sacred Heart. Sister Lucy, responding to this, tells us: That is why God insists. This is the way, and the only way, and nothing else will work. Now, if I could relive the last 34 years of my life over again and do something else, I might say, I wish there was another answer. But there isn t. This is the only way. This is the Will of God and He is not changing His mind. The thoughts of His Heart are to all generations. Our Lord s Heart is not just a symbol, but actually is full of love and, of course, His greatest love is for His Mother. She is greater than all the saints and we ve had some very great saints, but She is greater than all of them. He loves Her more, not just because She is His Mother, but because She is the holiest creature that ever was made or will be made. And He wants Her to be exalted. So there we have it. Where does this leave the Church? There are those who hold that the Church has no obligation regarding Fatima; that it is simply a private revelation and 4 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

if the Pope wants to ignore it he can perfectly well do so. And if the bishops want to ignore it, they, also, can perfectly well do so. And so can all the priests and everybody else if they want to. That is the theory; that is the thesis; that is the understanding of most people today. But, unfortunately, that theory is completely wrong and may lead millions of souls into hell! The Obligation to Believe How can we be so sure about that? We can base that on several things. First of all, before we get to the obligation to obey, let s get to the obligation to believe. Philosophy is the study of final things in the light of reason alone without the benefit of revelation. The philosophy that deals with what we are all obliged to do is called ethics in its classic term. Even by simple ethics, we can prove the obligation to believe Fatima even without quoting Scripture once. Very simply, we have the obligation to believe our fellow men. First of all, man has been made to live in community. That is, we live, we depend on each other. Some are good typists and others are good thinkers or writers or whatever else we do. None of us has enough talent and ability to live without the help of someone else. God made us that way. We are dependent on our fellow men, all of us are, for different things things that we are not good at. And so, even in the Church, God has made us that way. Certainly, the Pope and bishops and the priests have gifts and authority that others do not have. But the Pope and bishops and priests also need the help of others. That is the way God intended it that we live in community, that we depend upon each other. Therefore, in order for us to live in community we must, first of all, be able to believe a reasonable person when he tells us something reasonable and we have no counter indication to think that there is something wrong with what he says. If we weren t bound to believe our fellow man of goodwill, then we couldn t live in society. It s as fundamental as that. And so there is no real reason for not believing the 70,000 witnesses that they really saw the miracles on October 13th. There is no real reason for not believing the approval of seven popes that the Message of Fatima is worthy of belief. There is no real reason for refusing to accept what the children of Fatima told us. The Fatima Crusader Winter

And so, as such, we are bound to believe them just on the natural human level alone. We could develop that further. I wrote a thesis for philosophy on that basis alone. But there is much more than just philosophy or ethics to prove the obligation to believe. What I mentioned is: first of all, there are those who think that, Well, if it is not an Article of Faith, I have no obligation to believe whatsoever, and that is a completely false conception of our obligation to live in this world. Everything is not revealed in the Scriptures, but we have obligations that are taught. As Saint Paul tells us in Romans, we have obligations which the Natural Law itself tells us. Now we do know that God has also reinforced the Natural Law by revealing much of it, if not all of it, in Sacred Scripture. But the fact is, we are also bound by the Natural Law itself, whether or not it s in the Bible or in tradition. We are also bound by the Natural Law and believing our fellow men is part of the Natural Law. We don t have to believe everybody all the time, but we do have to believe reasonably, our fellow men. That s an obligation and it can be a serious obligation, depending on what it is. We either believe or don t believe them. If it s something not important, there may be some slight sin in not believing them; but if it is something really important and we have no reason to doubt it, then, to refuse to believe is also a sin, even on the natural level. Do Not Despise Prophecy The next thing is, on the basis of Scripture, we have various passages which no one would dispute. I think the first passage you will find is in the book of the First Letter of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians, Chapter 5, verse 19, in which he says: Do not extinguish the spirit, do not despise prophecy, but test all things and hold fast to that which is good. The first thing he says is, do not extinguish the spirit. The Holy Spirit can and does speak to every generation with prophetic messages. Saint Thomas Aquinas, the greatest theologian, tells us that every generation receives prophecies from the Holy Spirit. If we start off with the assumption that God can send a prophet and give us a message and we don t have to believe it, we re already going 6 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

against Scripture because that fundamental attitude is despising prophecy; it s extinguishing the Holy Spirit. We are forbidden to do that in the Bible itself. That s not the only passage you will find it s in Colossians and it s a famous quote that the Church is built upon the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. Now regarding those who interpret the word prophets as being the prophets of the Old Testament, it s not incorrect to believe that because the prophets of the Old Testament have a lot to tell us even today. There s another interpretation of that passage which means that the Church is built upon the prophets of the New Testament. We have learned that there is a hierarchy, and God has certainly made a hierarchy. There is a pope and the bishops and the priests. The Council of Trent defines that all three of them are members of the hierarchy, obviously in limited and various degrees. The Gift of Prophecy But besides the hierarchy, there is also the charism, or the gift, of prophecy. And that charism also is what the Church is built upon, not just the hierarchy. The Church is built upon the charism or the foundation of the apostles with Christ Jesus, Himself, the chief cornerstone. Built upon that is the apostles as well as the prophets, and in that analogy the foundation stone is what you build upon; then the apostles are the next foundational stone and after that are the prophets. So what is the relationship between the prophets of the New Testament and the apostles? Again, you go back to Thessalonians, Chapter 5, verse 19, and he tells us: Do not despise prophecy, do not extinguish the spirit, but test all things. So it s the role of the hierarchy to test the prophet; to see if the prophet, indeed, comes from God. Not all people who claim to have the gift of prophecy are prophets. That is why we don t promote apparitions which are not approved by the Church not because they all are ipso facto false, but because we do not have the time or maybe the ability or both to actually examine every one and test them. The Church has tested Fatima. The Church has said that Fatima is worthy of belief. That is why we promote that Fatima has been tested. But also, we have the command of God through Saint Paul, telling us to hold fast to that. The Fatima Crusader Winter

It s the role of the hierarchy to test the prophet in this case, FATIMA. It s been found by the hierarchy to be good, and therefore we are bound to hold fast to it, and for that matter, so are the Pope and the bishops bound to hold fast to it. So then, are we trying to say that Sister Lucy, for example, is more important than the Pope, or that she can command the Pope? The answer is very simple. No, she does not command the Pope. Rather, God uses the prophet, in this case Sister Lucy, to transmit a message and she transmitted the message faithfully. We Owe Obedience to God First The hierarchy is to judge whether this message comes from God or not, and having done so, the hierarchy is bound to obey not the prophet, but God, Whom they have determined had spoken through the prophet. All obedience is given to God. If we must obey the policeman or we must obey the Pope, if they have jurisdiction in a matter where they tell us to do things, then we re bound to obey not as obeying man, but as obeying God, Who speaks through, or uses these persons, to tell us what we must do. The hierarchy that is, the Pope and the bishops and the priests and everyone else, including the laypeople have to obey too. The Consecration of Russia is a command of God. Our Lord came to Sister Lucy again in 1931, after the formal request made before the Most Blessed Trinity commanding the Consecration of Russia. A Heaven-sent Command Ignored Jesus commanded that the Pope command the bishops to consecrate Russia in union with him. He expressed His unhappiness: Make it known to My ministers, given they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, like him they will follow him into misfortune. Our Lord says that the King of France was punished; he was beheaded; he was killed as a criminal. Why? For one reason because he did not obey in time the command to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart. Now there may be those who say: Well, that s too bad, he didn t know he had to obey; he didn t have to obey; he was given a message through a saint who wasn t canonized then. 8 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

Saint Margaret Mary certainly had a reputation in her lifetime as a saint. There was nothing contrary to the faith or morals in the message; nothing contrary to right reason for that matter. To them, France was in its glory days and Louis XIV was the most powerful and, shall we say, the most glorious of the French kings in his power and so they did not listen. 100 years later, as we know, the French king was stripped of his power by the Masonic infiltration of his country and the lodges took away the king s right to rule and make legislation causing the French Revolution. I think that historians would agree today that it was all the work of Masonry. It is interesting how Our Lord makes that same reference when He tells us that what happened to the kings of France by the same enemies will happen to the John Vennari, Master of Ceremonies at all of our Fatima Center conferences, has been of tremendous assistance to Father Gruner over these many years. Above, he opens up the conference session: Tribute to Father Gruner (Session 13). You will not want to miss this. See pages 53 and 63 to order your DVD(s). Pope and the bishops. Today, of course, they don t see it, but the signs are there if you re willing to look at them. My point here is that Our Lord, Himself, says that they will be punished; that they will follow the King of France into misfortune for one reason for not obeying His command. Obviously, He implies that they are obliged to obey; The Fatima Crusader Winter

otherwise it would be wrong for Him to punish them for something they are not obliged to do. And when I say them, I think we re all included because, at some point, we either haven t prayed enough or sacrificed enough or told our friends and neighbors, or done what we could to make it understood. And if that is true for us, it s much more true for many others who falsify the message, who claim to be devoted to Our Lady of Fatima. Whether they see that or not, God knows, but that s what they are doing. The Obligation To Believe Fatima Is Based on Scripture So this obligation then is not just based on reason, it s also based on the Scripture; it s also based on a further argument which I ve given and which no one has answered me yet. There are theologians whether conservative or liberal, whether left or right who will disagree with what I ve said. There are those who even have the reputation of being ultraconservative who would think I m wrong, but the argument goes something like this. There are two kinds of revelations. There are public revelations which were closed at the death of the last apostle and there are private revelations which you are not bound to believe. There are theologians today among them, Bishop Graber, a theologian in his own right who have pointed out that these are not the only kinds of revelations. There is also a public prophetic revelation. That is, not in Scripture, not in the Deposit of Faith, but, nevertheless, is binding because it s not simply a private revelation. A private revelation, strictly speaking, is for a person, a private person. God Endorsed Fatima Through the Miracle of the Sun You have the Miracle of the Sun before 70,000 people. You have Our Lady telling Her skeptics that if they don t believe, to come on such and such a date at such and such a time and She would prove to them that God is behind this message. She laid down the challenge and all of us have the obligation to seek the truth. We are told in 2 Thessalonians, Chapter 2, that the antichrist comes because Catholics have lost the love for truth. It is a fundamental attitude to seek the truth, to love the truth, to defend the truth. And, as such, we all have the obligation to seek 10 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

the truth. Here we have a public prophetic revelation given to the whole world with these witnesses, and yet some would say, I don t have to believe it, and close their mind and go on with their business. It cannot possibly be that they have no obligation just because they say, I refuse to look, I refuse to see, I refuse to know. That is not characterized by love for the truth. The largest opponent to Fatima is exactly characterized by that. Father Dhanis, a Jesuit priest, made a whole life career of debunking Fatima by refusing to look at the evidence. In the 1940s, during the Second World War, there were some people who took liberties with the text of Our Lady s message the second part of the Secret and changed Her words. That was a big disservice. According to them, they didn t want to hurt the war effort and, therefore, they took out the word Russia from Our Lady s words: Russia will spread her errors. Now it was evident to a man like Dhanis that something had to be done to the text so that before the end of the war, he could say he did a service by pointing out that they had doctored the text. But when the war was over, it was offered to him to come and read the original text, to come and interview Sister Lucy himself; but he refused to look at the evidence. He is not much better than any other people who refuse to look at the evidence of Fatima. They say, Well, you know, I don t have to believe it. You Cannot Deny the Evidence In Support of Fatima Well, if you looked at the evidence you would be forced to believe it; if you refuse to look at the evidence, you are not thereby off the hook. Saint Thomas Aquinas proves in his Summa Theologica that just because you keep yourself in ignorance, that is not an excuse for you being in ignorance, that and your ignorance will not excuse you on Judgment Day because you refused to learn the truth. He says, in fact, that your guilt is greater because you refused to learn the truth. And so this obligation is real. I would be happy to debate anyone, and there are plenty of them out there who think that we re completely wrong in this. But this point is fundamental. The excuse that the Church has been hiding behind for the last 50 years for not doing the consecration is that they don t think they have the obligation, and that is so patently false. The Fatima Crusader Winter

The obligation to believe and to obey is based, of course, on reason, on Sacred Scripture, and on the fact that Fatima is an established fact of such magnitude. It is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy when you see that we ve had 14,400 wars in 6,000 years of recorded history, and yet Our Lady of Fatima promises to stop that. The only place that is predicted besides Fatima is in Sacred Scripture where we are told: They will learn the art of war no more. That has not happened from the time that Isaiah and Micheas made these prophecies to the present day. Our Lady says that time is now. The significance of Fatima is a milestone in human history beyond anything. It s much more important than Vatican II or World War II or anything else, other than the life of Christ, Himself. It is a milestone in the history of mankind. Our Time of Mercy Is Running Out Do What You Can Now! This generation has not recognized it and we will pay the price for it not just the Pope and the bishops. It s up to each of us to do our part to make it known, to make it understood, and to live Fatima by praying five decades of the Rosary and wearing the Brown Scapular. Our Lady held out the Scapular for all of us to wear. You know, these things look very small, but these things are very great in God s eyes. We must do what we can with what God gives us to our hand. That is all He asks us to do. But He also asks us to understand these things and to encourage others to give them more importance. Saint Augustine said: Being a Christian, I rejoice with you. Being a bishop, I tremble the responsibility I have is much greater. He very much appreciated the help that he got from priests and lay people to fulfill his job. I m sure all good bishops would feel the same way. That is why we must not forget to pray and sacrifice for all good bishops and priests and especially for the Pope; that he will receive the graces necessary to fulfill the mission given him by Our Lady of Fatima to consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. 13 An Indisputable Historic Fact: THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN AT FATIMA An excerpt of a speech given by Peter Chojnowski at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Peter Chojnowski, Ph.D. Masonic Press Testifies to Truth of Miracle When looking for reliable sources concerning historical events, it is always best to consult those who have no bias or vested interest in the events. If they testify to the truth of the historical claim, the claim is bolstered immeasurably. If, however, the witnesses are professionally hostile and yet testify to the truth of the claims of their opponents, the testimony is of incalculable worth. We have this kind of testimony in the account of Avelino de Almeida, the Editor-in-Chief of O Seculo, a liberal, anti-clerical, and Masonic daily paper in Lisbon. Mr. de Almeida was actually a witness to the events at the Cova da Iria. To this testimony of the anti-catholics, we add the testimony of the Church. The official investigation into the miracle itself began in November Monsignor Vidal, who was directing the diocese of Lisbon, instructed the parish priest to launch an immediate investigation into the case. So the Church, from the beginning, was investigating the claims and interviewing the witnesses. This investigation came to fruition when Bishop da Silva of Fatima officially approved the apparition as worthy of belief. This could not have been difficult, since, unlike most historical events, the events on October 13th at Fatima had innumerable witnesses, whose testimonies agree, and who have left innumerable documents. These innumerable accounts of the events that October day were meticulously documented from the beginning until our own time. These accounts of the events came out in the decades when eyewitnesses were still alive, leaving open the possibility that the accounts could be refuted by the eyewitnesses. They could have objected when the reports came out, but no one did. In fact, on the 60th The Fatima Crusader Winter

anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun, there were some 30 eyewitnesses who could still testify to the events on that day. What also adds to the veracity of the claims concerning the Miracle of the Sun is the fact that the miracle itself was witnessed by some 70,000 people that day. Their testimony is unanimous. However, who were these witnesses, other than our Masonic newspaperman, Avelino de Almeida? Were there only Portuguese Catholic peasants who attended this anticipated miracle? The answer here is, of course, no. The Portuguese historian, Leopoldo Nuñes, who was present on the scene on October 13th, says: At the moment of the great Miracle there were present some of the most illustrious men of letters, in the arts and the sciences, and almost all were unbelievers coming out of curiosity, led by the prediction of the seers. Even the Minister of Education of the Masonic government was there. So, many of the anti-catholics who were perpetrated to have not been present at the miracles were, in fact, present at Fatima at the moment of the Miracle. Here we have Our Lady, at the request of Lucy, who sought to prove the authenticity of Her Fatima Message to the unbelievers. Again, we return to the account of the miraculous events on the day of the 13th given us by Avelino de Almeida, the self-professed anti-catholic witness. It is worth noting that the editors of the other anticlerical newspapers attacked de Almeida for his report. But even in the face of such criticism by his comrades he did not retreat from his testimony. In fact, 15 days after his original account of the Miracle, he published another story about the events, this time illustrating it with 12 pictures taken of the crowd in the midst of the Miracle of the Sun. Throughout this article, de Almeida just kept repeating, I saw it I saw it I saw it. Testimony of Dr. Almeida Garrett Let us follow the account of Avelino de Almeida, adding to it that of another eyewitness, Dr. Almeida Garrett, professor of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Coimbra, obtained by Fr. Formigao. The story for de Almeida begins on October 12th, 1917, when he arrives at Fatima to see the non-fulfillment of the prophecy of a miracle. Here, the unbeliever who was obviously 14 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

Flyer handed out in Italian at the Vatican on October 13, 2015 during the Synod Front: above, back: below The Fatima Crusader Winter

impressed with the Faith of the believers, says: On the road, we encounter the first groups which are on their way to the holy place, a good 13 miles away Men and women are for the most part barefoot, the latter carrying their shoes in bags on their heads, while the men lean on thin sticks and are also prudently armed with umbrellas. Apparently indifferent to what is going on around them they do not seem to notice the countryside nor their fellow-travelers, but murmur the Rosary as they go immersed in thought A woman recites the first part of the Ave Maria and immediately her companions continue the second part in chorus. They move rhythmically and rapidly in order to reach the place of the apparitions by nightfall. Here, under the stars they will sleep, keeping the first and best places near the little tree. What a moving account. He must have been profoundly moved by what he saw. We can only wonder about his attitude. Perhaps it was one of pity for what he thought were the pathetic hopes of the people. The whole night it rained. This was a change in the weather from what had occurred earlier in the autumn season. It was as if Our Lady was perfectly stage managing the scene to emphasize the Miracle. The rain transformed the dusty roads into muddy quagmires. What does de Almeida say concerning the response of the people to these adverse conditions? They did not lose hope and they did not forget the cause for which they came. The day of October 13th arrived. De Almeida continues: By 10 o clock the sky was completely hidden behind the clouds and the rain began to fall in earnest. Swept by the strong wind and beating upon the faces of the people, it soaked the pilgrims, often without protection against the weather, to the marrow of their bones But no one complained or turned back Hours of waiting The great mass of people congregate round the oak tree which, according to the children, is Our Lady s pedestal. What amazes us about the Miracle of the Sun is the specificity of Our Lady, just as God Himself is so specific in all that He does. God does not merely create, sustain, or guide the general. Our Lady said in July of 1917 that She would perform a miracle at midday on the 13th of October. But it was after noon, how can we say that Our Lady s promise 16 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

was being fulfilled? Here it is necessary to say that the Portuguese government, due to its belligerency with France and Britain during World War I, decided that the clocks were to be set 90 minutes ahead so that Portugal would be in the same time zone as her fellow belligerents. On October 13, 1917, 1:30 p.m. was actually midday, sun time. The hour of the miracle approached. The presence of the seers is announced shortly before the scheduled time of the apparition and miracle; they arrive about one-half hour early. The little girls Jacinta and Lucy, crowned with flowers, are led to the place where the platform has been erected. When Lucy asks them no, orders them to shut their umbrellas in the drenching rain, something that goes against intuition, the order is transmitted and executed right away without resistance. Then they wait. What if there was no Miracle? But there was. Near the time of 1:30 p.m., a priest, who stood by the children and had been waiting since the previous evening, began to grow impatient. Look, its midday now. Our Lady does not lie. Well, well. After a few minutes with nothing happening except the rain pouring down on the uncovered thousands, the priest again looked at his watch and said: Look, its midday now. Our Lady doesn t lie. It s past midday. You see it s all a delusion. Run along all of you. Go away. It s a delusion. In response to this skepticism and doubt, Lucy refused to go. It was midday, so the priest began to push the three children away from the site. Then the simple faith of Lucy took over. She began to cry and said: If anyone wants to go, I shall stay where I am. Our Lady said She would come. She came the other times and She will come this time too. At that moment Lucy looked to the east and said to Jacinta: Jacinta, kneel down. Our Lady is coming. I saw the lightning. According to Sister Lucy s account, the impatient priest did not say another word and the children never saw him again. It was at this moment that the Miracle commenced. Here are the stages of the Miracle of the Sun: The Rain Stops What is truly amazing about this Miracle is that Our Lady perfectly stage managed the entire event. Each aspect of the miracle was directed to accentuate the miraculous nature of the phenomenon. Dr. Almeida Garrett reports, The The Fatima Crusader Winter

sky, which had been overcast all day, suddenly clears up; the rain stops and it looks like the sun is about to fill with light the countryside that the wintry morning had made so gloomy. This sudden change of weather surprised all of the witnesses. Dr. Pereira Gens simply reports, The rain suddenly stopped ; it suddenly stopped, of course, at the exact moment which had been predicted for the Miracle to take place. The Vision of the Sun Why the vision of the sun? Because at this moment, contrary to the normal phenomenon, everyone and this is a unanimous testimony without contradiction could look at the sun clearly, directly, and without wincing or closing their eyes. No one needed to turn away. This is what the editor of O Seculo says: Then they saw a unique spectacle, [an] unbelievable spectacle for anyone who did not witness it. From the road one could see the immense multitude turn towards the sun, which appeared free from clouds and in its zenith. It resembles a dull silver disc, and it is possible to look at it without the least discomfort. Dr. Garrett, however, had this observation: I saw it [the sun] as a disc with a clean cut rim, luminous and shining, but which did not hurt the eyes. I do not agree with the comparison which I have heard made in Fatima that of a dull silver disc. It was a clearer, richer, brighter color, having something of the luster of a pearl I felt it to be a living body It looked like a glazed wheel made of mother of pearl It was a remarkable fact that one could fix one s eyes on this brazier of light and heat without any pain in the eyes or blinding of the retina. The Dance of the Sun One would think that this would be enough, being able to look at the sun without having to turn away, but Our Lady wanted to demonstrate Her power in a more convincing way. So this sun that all the witnesses could observe without irritation danced. This was called by many of the common folk present, The Dance of the Sun. De Almeida says concerning this dance : The sun trembled, the sun made sudden incredible movements outside all cosmic laws the sun danced according to the typical expression of the people. It shook and trembled; it seemed 18 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

like a wheel of fire. Dr. Garrett adds: The sun s disc did not remain immobile. This was not the sparkling of a heavenly body for it spun round upon itself, it made a whirl. Also, It spun like a firewheel, taking on all the colors of the rainbow It looked like a ball of snow, revolving upon itself. According to Ti Marto, the father of Jacinta and Francisco, At a certain moment the sun seemed to stop and then began to move and dance However, the sun stops, only to begin its strange dance all over again after a brief interruption, whirling upon itself, giving the impression of approaching or receding. This dance, which was seen by the 70,000 witnesses, was actually repeated three times during the course of the 10 minute long miracle. All the Colors of the Rainbow With the Dance of the Sun something else began to happen. The landscape, and everything in it, began to take on, in succession, all the colors of the rainbow. Dr. Garrett testifies: During the solar phenomenon there were changes of color in the atmosphere I looked first at the nearest objects and then extended my glance further afield as far as the horizon, I saw everything an amethyst color. Objects around me, the sky and the atmosphere, were of the same color Soon I heard a peasant who was near me shout out in tones of stupefaction: Look, that Lady is all yellow! And, in fact, everything both near and far had changed to yellow. People looked as if they were suffering jaundice My own hand was of the same color. The exact same report comes from another witness, Maria do Carmo: The sun took on all the colors of the rainbow. Everything took on the same colors: our faces, our clothes, the earth itself. The Falling of the Sun Now we come to a part of the Miracle that made many of those present on the scene of the Cova da Iria believe that the world was ending such was the fearsomeness of the experience. This was clearly Our Lady s warning that the Message of Fatima was not only a message, but, also, a very grave warning. What happened at that stage of the miracle is called the falling of the sun. Then suddenly, one heard a clamor, a cry of anguish breaking from all the people. The sun, whirling wildly, seemed to loosen itself The Fatima Crusader Winter

from the firmament and advance threateningly upon the earth as if to crush us with its huge and fiery weight. The sensation during these moments were terrible. Again, The sun began to move and dance until it seemed that it was being detached from the sky and was falling on us. It was a terrible moment! It seemed like a wheel of fire that was about to fall on the people. Alfredo de Silva Santos reports: The sun began to move and at a certain moment appeared to be detached from the sky and about to hurtle upon us like a wheel of flame. Even though many thousands were expecting imminent death and were making their final preparations for that event, the miracle was not the end, but a warning and an indication of the mercy of God and the intercessory power of the Mother of God because the sun returned to the heavens. Everybody s Clothes Were Dry Then the final Miracle, the last manifestation of the intimate knowledge and love that God and His Blessed Mother have for mankind and for the pious faithful. Father Lourenço: This enormous multitude was drenched, for it had rained unceasingly since dawn. But though this may appear incredible after the great miracle everyone felt comfortable, and found his garments quite dry, a subject of general wonder The truth of this fact has been guaranteed with the greatest sincerity by dozens and dozens of persons of absolute trustworthiness, whom I have known intimately from childhood, and who are still alive [in 1937]. We have it from Dr. Pereira Gens that: I still remember the delicious sensation that this warm caress of the sun gave me I [felt] my clothes almost dry now, although they were all wet a few moments ago. 21 Was the last minute switch of our group from Site No. 1 (in front of the Capitol building) to Site 13 (two streets away behind a building) a political rejection or was it by Our Lady s choice? As you can see, this was a much more befitting location for Our Lady s procession and the silver lining in the cloud had we not been there, we would not have been able to proceed with our Pilgrim Virgin statue in full glory through the streets of Washington, D.C. 22 HOW SIX POPES FAILED TO RELEASE THE 3RD SECRET An excerpt of a speech given by Mr. Salza at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by John Salza, J.D. The title of my talk is How Six Popes Failed to Release the Third Secret of Fatima. In this talk, I am going to present the historical evidence, based on irrefutable facts and incontrovertible testimony, which gives us a moral certainty that there is a hidden text of the Third Secret of Fatima currently suppressed by the Vatican. For more information, please see my new book, A Catechism on Fatima at What Is the Third Secret of Fatima? The Third Secret of Fatima is the last part of the message Our Lady gave the children on July 13, The Secret consists of two parts: (1) Lucia s description of a vision of the execution of a Pope, bishops, clergy and other faithful by soldiers outside a city in ruins, and (2) Our Lady s words explaining the vision and other matters concerning the Church and the world (including a prophecy of apostasy in the Church beginning just after the middle of the 20th Century), which begins with the phrase In Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved What Is the Evidence of Two Separate Texts? The evidence that I will present demonstrates that Lucia recorded Our Lady s words in a letter to her bishop, and the vision on notebook paper not addressed to anyone. Lucia s letter to her bishop containing Our Lady s actual, verbalized words consists of about 25 lines, while the vision released by the Vatican is 62 lines; the letter was written on a single sheet of paper, separate from the notebook paper Lucia used to write the vision. The letter was written on (or shortly before) January 9, 1944 (while the vision was written on January 3, 1944). 22 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

Both documents were placed in separately sealed envelopes, each containing Our Lady s express order that both documents were to be made public in The envelope containing the letter was delivered to the Vatican on April 16, 1957 (while the envelope containing the vision was delivered on April 4, 1957). The letter was stored in the papal apartment in a writing desk called Barbarigo (while the vision was stored in the Secret Archives of the Holy Office). The record also shows that Popes John XXIII, Paul VI and John Paul II read the Third Secret on two different dates, indicating two different texts. As we will see, John XXIII read two texts; one (the letter) around August 20, 1959 and the other (the vision) in Paul VI read also two texts; one (the letter) on June 27, 1963 and the other (the vision) on March 27, John Paul II also read two texts; one (the letter) in October 1978 and the other (the vision) on July 18, [After Mr. Salza proved the foregoing facts in great detail, he went on to address the part of the Third Secret released by the Vatican in 2000, of the Bishop dressed in White.] What Is the Vision of the Bishop Dressed in White? As mentioned, the Vatican finally released the text of the vision on June 26, 2000 (40 years late) along with commentary in a document called The Message of Fatima, but still has not released the letter, which remains hidden. With the June 2000 release, we learn that part of the Third Secret reveals a frightening, material chastisement involving a Pope, along with other members of the Church, being viciously executed by soldiers using bullets and arrows in a city in ruins and littered with corpses. Because there has been no such public execution of a Pope and other faithful to date, this prophecy remains for the future. Lucia s descriptions in the vision are quite curious, and may suggest the presence of two Bishops dressed in White in the Vatican during the execution, which we currently have with Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict (and which is a completely unprecedented situation in Church history). I actually mentioned this possibility in my talk in Rome in 2012, the year before Benedict XVI announced his resignation. The Fatima Crusader Winter

After describing an image similar to how people appear in front of a mirror, Lucia sees a Bishop dressed in White who gave the children the impression that it was the Holy Father. Why would Lucia say she had an image and the impression he was the Holy Father if he were really the Pope? Is this Bishop dressed in White the same person as the Holy Father who is killed by a group of soldiers with bullets and arrows later in the vision? Or is Lucia making a distinction between the true Pope and an anti-pope? Given the public challenges to the validity of the Bergoglio election, does this Pope/antipope scenario actually exist today? Could the Bishop dressed in White be Pope Emeritus Benedict, who still gives the impression of the Holy Father? Or is it Francis, the Bishop of Rome? Or, is it another Pope (or bishop) in the future? And is the big city half in ruins Rome (the cork tree being indigenous to Rome)? We will never know until the Church releases the hidden text, or the prophesied chastisements materialize, God forbid, for the Pope s failure to consecrate Russia. How did the Vatican Interpret the Vision In Its June 26, 2000 Document, The Message of Fatima? In a way that is contrary to reason. In the June 2000 document, Cardinal Sodano and Archbishop Bertone attempt to divest Fatima of any future prophetic realities and consign it to the past. How exactly? By actually suggesting that the prophetic vision Our Lady gave in 1917 (of the execution of a Pope and other faithful by soldiers with bullets and arrows in a city in ruins) was fulfilled in Mehmet Ali Agca s failed assassination attempt of John Paul II on May 13, The obvious problems with the Vatican interpretation are as follows: 1) John Paul II was not killed; 2) John Paul II was not at the top of a mountain at the foot of a cross when he was shot; 3) no one else in St. Peter s Square was shot at, much less killed, that day; 4) Ali Agca was not a soldier; 5) Ali Agca was a lone gunman; 6) Ali Agca did not use arrows in addition to bullets; and, 7) Rome was not a city in ruins. 24 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

The problems with this interpretation are obvious and numerous, which is why Mother Angelica of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) critiqued the Vatican document by saying we didn t get the whole thing. 1 Moreover, the prophetic trajectory of the Vatican s attempted interpretation does not make sense. Our Lady takes us from a terrifying vision of hell where demons torture the souls of the damned, to specific warnings about the most violent and death-filled Century in world history that took over 200 million lives to a botched assassination attempt on a Pope who spent several months in the hospital, only to resume an active and productive life (living another 24 years), even returning to the ski slopes? 2 As deplorable as it was, this attempted homicide on a Pope could hardly be the culminating event of the bloodiest century in world history, the 20 th Century. It doesn t add up. What other problems are there with the Vatican s 2000 interpretation of the vision? There are many other substantive problems with the interpretation. For example, why would the Vatican wait almost 20 years, until the year 2000, to reveal a prophecy that was allegedly fulfilled in 1981? In fact, Cardinal Oddi reported in Il Sabato magazine on October 17, 1990 that Lucia met with John Paul II in May 1982 and it was decided that the vision would not be released because it might be misinterpreted. But if the prophetic vision was already fulfilled in 1981, then the vision could not be misinterpreted in 1982 or any other time due to its fulfillment. Further, if the Third Secret prophecy was fulfilled in 1981, then John Paul II would not have needed to do a consecration in 1984 to prevent the conditional chastisement from occurring; it would have already occurred in Finally, on April 19, 2000, John Paul II wrote a letter to Lucia (a copy of which was included in the June 26, 2000 document) in which he says he is sending Bertone to Lucia to ask certain questions about the interpretation of the Third Part of the Secret to help prepare for the release of the Vatican document. But if the 1981 assassination attempt was the fulfillment of the third part of the secret and the secret is now part of The Fatima Crusader Winter

the past, then one must ask why John Paul II still had questions about the interpretation in the year Is the Vatican s assassination attempt interpretation of the vision binding upon Catholics? No. According to the Fifth Lateran Council, the Pope alone has the authority to give a binding interpretation on prophecy, and Pope John Paul II provided no interpretation of the vision in the June 26, 2000 document. Rather, the document was issued by two Cardinals and an Archbishop and concedes it is only an attempted interpretation of the prophecies. Cardinal Ratzinger, who provides the theological commentary on the vision, prefaces his written analysis by saying Before attempting an interpretation and Before undertaking an interpretation, finally describing his efforts as An attempt to interpret the secret of Fatima. At the June 26, 2000 press conference, Ratzinger also said, It is not the intention of the Church to impose a single interpretation. 3 Ratzinger also makes it clear that the attempted interpretation is that of Cardinal Sodano, and not the Pope s. Of course, Vatican officials, who have no authority to interpret prophecy, cannot bind us to attempted interpretations that they admit are not binding. The Third Secret, the Upcoming Synod, and Apostasy in the Church Why the cover-up? Because, as I will demonstrate in my next talk, the Third Secret warns of apostasy in the Church, beginning with the Church s highest leaders (the Pope and bishops). This apostasy, no doubt formally triggered by Vatican II, is coming to a head under the reign of Pope Francis and, in particular, with his socalled Synod on the Family. While Vatican II created primarily a doctrinal crisis in the Church, the Synod could create a moral crisis of unprecedented proportions, if the traditional doctrine of marriage is undermined, and sodomites and fornicators are admitted to Holy Communion, thereby unleashing unthinkable sacrilege against the Blessed Sacrament. While many of the bishops are steeped in Modernism, it would appear that a good share of them will draw a line in the sand on traditional Catholic morality. We can only hope and pray that is the case, 26 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

Pope Francis greets the crowd on September 24, 2015 from the Capitol balcony. and thanks be to God for those who will. Unfortunately, only a few bishops, like the great Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, responded to the doctrinal crisis caused by Vatican II and the New Mass. Almost all the rest of the bishops caved in. But it seems that God is going to give the bishops one more chance, to stand up for Catholic Truth, this time to defend Our Lord s teaching on marriage and the family. As we approach the 100th Anniversary of Fatima, the results of this Synod may be the final test that God will use to sift the wheat from the chaff before He punishes the world with the chastisement revealed in the Third Secret unless the Pope prevents the chastisement with the Consecration of Russia. No matter what happens, however, no matter what the Pope decides, we need to remain with Jesus and Mary, and with the Tradition of the Church so that, as St. Vincent said, we can never be led astray by any lying novelty. 28 THE MOMENTARY TRIUMPH OF CHRIST S ENEMIES Would Anyone Regard This as Our Lady s Triumph? An excerpt of a lecture given by John VennarI at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by John Vennari It is astounding that many Catholics including those who represent various Fatima Apostolates actually propound the idea that Pope John Paul II s 1984 consecration of the world fulfilled Our Lady s request to consecrate Russia, even though Russia was not mentioned, and the bishops of the world did not participate. Even more astonishing: many Catholics have lost the sense of the Faith so severely, they fail to see that we live not in a period that in any way resembles the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Rather, we live in an age that reflects the momentary triumph of Our Lord s enemies. We will take a quick look at the plans for the de- Christianization of society, laid out by Freemasonry in the 19th Century, by Communism in the 1950s, and again by Communists in the United States in the early 1990s. It is clear that Satan s plan is now in ascendance. Let us popularize vice amongst the multitude. In his 1884 encyclical against Freemasonry, Humanum Genus, Pope Leo XIII warned that the Secret Societies strive to corrupt morals in society, since the man who is morally weakened will more readily come under the influence of their godless principles. After speaking of stage plays, books and pamphlets that are remarkable for license (which would be considered tame compared to today), Pope Leo warned: For, since generally no one is accustomed to obey crafty and clever men so submissively as those whose soul is weakened and broken down by the domination of the passions, there have been in the sect of the Freemasons some who have plainly determined and proposed 28 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

that, artfully and of set purpose, the multitude should be satiated with a boundless license of vice, as, when this had been done, it would easily come under their power and authority 1 The infamous 19th Century Masonic document The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita 2 likewise speaks of their plan to spread immorality, especially by the corruption of women. In order to destroy Catholicism, it is necessary to commence by suppressing women but since we cannot suppress women, let us corrupt her. 3 The Alta Vendita said further: Tertullian was right in saying that the blood of the martyrs was the seed of Christians. Let us, then, not make martyrs, but let us popularize vice amongst the multitude. Let us cause them to draw it in by their five senses; to drink it in, to be saturated with it Make vicious hearts and you will have no more Catholics It is corruption en masse that we have undertaken. 4 Is Communist Goals to Subvert Us We see Communism announced similar aims. In 1958, former FBI agent Leon Skousen documented 45 Communist goals to subvert America from within. They are detailed in his book, The Naked Communist. Here are five of these goals: Goal 24: Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech; Goal 25: Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV; Goal 16: Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural, healthy ; Goal 27: Infiltrate the Churches and replace revealed religion with social religion. Discredit the Bible ; Goal 40: Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. Each of these goals listed by Mr. Skousen, considered unthinkable in the America of 1958, are not only accomplished in the United States, but are principal components in today s pop-culture, as purveyed by Hollywood, rock and roll, MTV, Internet and countless other media. 5 Now, to take this up to the present: we see the forces of organized naturalism, the force of secularism, and yes, even the forces of the Communist spirit at The Fatima Crusader Winter

work in our nation to this day. 1992: Communist Party USA There is a fascinating documentary released a few years back called Grinding America Down by former Idaho Representative Curtis Brown. In the beginning of the documentary, Rep. Brown tells the story of when he was a graduate student in 1992, a writer-acquaintance asked Brown to attend a weekend meeting for him with the Communist Party USA. The meeting was held at Berkeley University. Here, Brown saw the Communists propounding a strategy for further subversion of America from within. To break down the family the Communists urged promotion of co-habitation (living together out of wedlock) and the Feminist Movement; To destroy our culture and religion the Communists encouraged promotion of homosexuality; To destroy business Brown relates, the Communists in 1992 said they wanted to get behind the environmental movement, as they saw it as the only vehicle capable of creating enough regulation and red tape to discourage business growth. Brown said that when he was at this 1992 meeting, he thought to himself: this plan is so radical, I m probably not going to have to worry about it in my lifetime. But around 2006 or so, he remembered the 1992 event, and was stunned to realize that every goal the Communists had set at that meeting was fulfilled in the United States. In the same documentary, former White House Staff Economic Advisor Jim Simpson noted, Patrick Moore, who was a co-founder of Green Peace, and he was a very dedicated environmentalist, quit Greenpeace when he realized that it had been captured by radical leftists who were intent on using the environmental movement as a vehicle to destroy capitalism. This is why many environmentalists have been called Watermelons: green on the outside, red on the inside. It is no surprise that Barack Obama pushes, as much as he is able, the environmentalist agenda, as well as homosexuality and feminism. Even more disturbing, however, is that certain members of the present-day Vatican, in their Modernist thrust to allegedly dialogue with the 30 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

world, give the appearance of espousing the same evils promoted by the enemies of Christ. Documents emanating from Synod 2014, as well as the prepatory documents for the 2015 Synod, unbelievable as it sounds, say we should look for positive elements of co-habitation. 6 The 2014 Synod mid-term document spoke of the positive aspects of homosexuality. 7 We see Cardinals speaking of the alleged positive aspects of stable homosexual relationships. 8 These same men who propound these scandalous proposals maintain their influence of power in the 2015 Synod now underway. And sad to say, the push for environmentalism in the present pontificate not only reflects the plan called for by the enemies of Christ and Christian civilization, but also has nothing to do with the competence and duties of the papal office. What we have in this case is religion at the service of humanity, religion at the service of ecology. It is a mancentered disorientation caused by a reckless sentimentality, and by the spirit of Modernism. We live in the world now dominated by the spirit of Antichrist, as clearly laid out in the documented plans of Freemasonry and Communism. We have become so used to this unprecedented level of corruption, however, many Catholics believe the 1984 Consecration fulfilled the requirements of Our Lady, and we are now, somehow, living through the beginning of the Triumph of Our Lady s Immaculate Heart. This is ludicrous, and demonstrates that too many of us have become tone-deaf to the music of Catholic Truth. The Consecration of Portugal and of Russia To help keep our balance, let us recall the miraculous conversion of Portugal that occurred after the Portuguese bishops consecrated Portugal to the Immaculate Heart in 1931 (and again in 1938). Portugal, which had been living under the anti-clerical persecution of Masonic forces, was given as a result of the bishops specific consecration of that nation the grace of a three-fold miracle: 1) A Magnificent Catholic Renaissance, a great rebirth of Catholic life; 2) The Miracle of Social Reform according to Traditional Catholic social The Fatima Crusader Winter

teaching based on the social Kingship of Christ and not insipid dialogue with the world. 3) The Miracle of Peace: Portugal was spared the horrors of the Spanish Civil War that was raging right next door; and Portugal was then spared the ravages of World War II. 9 This threefold miracle gives the blueprint for us to judge whether or not the consecration of Russia has been properly accomplished. As noted, we do not see the structure of what happened in Portugal anywhere on earth. Rather, we see the present-day fulfillment of the plan of the serpent, as manifested in the writings of Communism and Freemasonry. Yet the threefold miracle, similar to what took place in Portugal, is what we will see for the whole world. This was affirmed by the eminent Patriarch of Lisbon, Cardinal Cerejeira, who in 1942 said that what took place in Portugal in the 1930s and 40s is a sample a preview of what Our Lady has prepared for the whole world when Russia is consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. What has taken place in Portugal proclaims the miracle, said Cardinal Cerejeira, and it foreshadows what the Immaculate Heart of Mary has prepared for the world. 10 Finally, once again, we recall that the promise of Our Lady of Fatima is the conversion of Russia to the Catholic Faith, and not a mere political conversion. This conversion has yet to take place, and hence the Consecration has not yet been properly enacted. I close by quoting on this point Father Joaquin Alonso, probably the top Fatima expert of the 20th Century. Father Alonso, who had many interviews with Sister Lucy, wrote in 1976:... we should affirm that Lucia always understood that the conversion of Russia is not to be limited to the return of the Russian People to the Orthodox Christian religions, rejecting the Marxist atheism of the Soviets, but rather, it refers purely, plainly and simply to the total, integral conversion of Russia to the one true Church of Christ, the Catholic Church. 11 Footnotes: 1. 34 Revolution. With the brief approbation of February 25, 1861, which he addressed to the author, Pope Pius IX guaranteed the authenticity of these documents, but he did not allow anyone to divulge the true members of the Alta Vendita implicated in the correspondence. The full text of The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita is also contained in Msgr. George E. Dillon s book, Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked. When Pope Leo XIII was presented with a copy of Msgr. Dillon s book, he was so impressed that he ordered an Italian version to be completed and published at his own expense. The Synod Fathers noted that homosexual persons have gifts and talents to offer the Christian community and that pastoral outreach to them is an important educative challenge. This is a far cry from the correct teaching found even in the New Catechism, which is nowhere found in the Synod documents: Sacred Scripture presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity (cf. Gn. 19:1-29; Rm 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:9-10; 1 Tim 1:10). Tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from genuine and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, No ) 8. 35 GIFTS OF THE HOLY GHOST By the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation, we receive the Seven Gifts of the Holy Ghost Fortitude, Wisdom, Counsel, Knowledge, Piety, Understanding and Fear of the Lord. Especially during this time of crisis, we need to draw upon these virtues to strengthen us and assist us as we go forward to defend Our Lady of Fatima and the One, True, Holy, Catholic Faith. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Force. He inspires courage and heroic endurance into His devout clients. This action of His was made manifest at the beginning of the Church s career. On the morning of Pentecost, the timorous apostles were transformed into the fearless champions of the faith. Not only was darkness dispelled from their minds, fear was also dispelled from their hearts. They found themselves emboldened to risk persecution and death in the establishment of the Kingdom of Christ. The Holy Spirit exhorts them to that enterprise: so too He heartens the individual Christian to establish the reign of God in his soul. It is the specific work of the Spirit of Jesus to form the Christian to be a Christian. Christ, when leaving His Apostles, told them that they would not be deprived of a guide. Another would succeed Him, to lead them heavenwards. The Fatima Crusader Winter

Their orphan state would end with the coming of that other. History reveals how this promise of Christ has been verified. The Apostles were changed men after Pentecost. All the truth of Christ, henceforth, came from them without error or without hesitation. But it was not only to them that Christ s promise was made. It was given in a certain proportion to all the faithful of all times. The action of the Holy Ghost is revealed in that quasiinstinctive knowledge of the profound truths of supernatural religion which is discernible in those Christians who strive to shape their lives after Christ s teaching. Their enlightenment and their understanding of transcendental truths are the bewilderment and the envy of those who are wise only with the wisdom of this earth. Man s life is rightly lived when it bears him on undeviatingly to the Beatific Vision. The virtue of Prudence is needed to regulate life in this sense. The Spirit of Jesus infuses the virtue of Prudence into the activities of the whole Mystical Body of Christ and into each member of that Body. The Christian will order the affairs of his life, even in their temporal aspect, aright when he wills to submit himself to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The path through life of the follower of Christ is a path plentifully strewn with trials and sorrows. Grief weighs down the soul at times and paralyzes its energies. It needs strengthening if it is not to shrivel up in the fires of tribulation. Human sympathy is powerless to minister this inner strength and comfort. It can be imparted only by God. The Divine Saviour sent His Holy Spirit to sustain and comfort the Christian in his trials. The Paraclete means one who comforts. The Holy Ghost is the love of God personified. That love of God has all the gentleness and understanding of maternal affection. It comes natural, therefore, to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity to cherish, to encourage and to give consolation to those of God s children who are fainting by the way, under a burden of grief. We are wise when we turn to the Holy Ghost in all the issues of life, temporal as well as spiritual. Our recourse to Him should not be occasional and particular: it should be continual and in regard of all necessities. Pray daily to the Holy Ghost, an often forgotten but essential devotion. 36 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

TESTIMONIAL TO FATHER GRUNER An excerpt of a speech given by Miriam Gruner at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Miriam Gruner Thank you all for coming to this conference. This is the first conference the Fatima Center has had since the death of my uncle, Father Gruner. He was very much looking forward to having this conference in Washington while the Holy Father was here and we are very pleased that we are able to fulfill his wishes. It is really hard to believe that it has already been almost five months since Father passed away. I know many of us believe that Father must be in Heaven. A few years ago, I attended a funeral Mass at which the priest told everyone that we need not pray for the soul of the deceased but that we should pray to her because the priest was sure she was in Heaven. When I mentioned this to Father Gruner, he became very animated and told me that when he died, he wanted me to try my best to ensure that no one said such things about him. He said, Make sure they pray for me and offer Masses. I have been deeply moved by the many prayers, Rosaries, Masses and sacrifices that many of you and others have offered for Father. There have been so many, I cannot keep track. I suspect he is very pleased. I also know he would want me to thank you and ask you, in your charity, to keep the prayers coming. Father Gruner touched the lives of many but only since his death have I started to become aware of just how many people he affected and just how deeply The Fatima Crusader Winter

he affected them. At the wake for Father held in Buffalo, I met a woman and her son who had travelled by bus for a total of 15 hours to and from New York City just to be at the wake for two hours. The Fatima Center received hundreds of letters, some from people who had known Father for decades and others from people who had never met him but would have dearly loved to do so. The consistent theme that ran through the many testimonies I heard and read was that Father changed people s lives by strengthening their Faith in Our Lord and His Holy Catholic Church and by impressing upon them the need to heed the message of Our Lady of Fatima. At the same time as I heard and read such testimonies, I was trying to discern how much time to devote to The Fatima Center. I must confess a certain sense of fear and despair crept into my thoughts. After all, Father was gone and no one can replace him. Plus, if I got more involved in Our Lady s work, I was likely to attract more of the devil s attention, which I certainly didn t want or need. I was tempted not to get involved. But then I thought, I would be dishonoring all that Father had worked so hard for, all he had given his life for, if I didn t get involved as much as my duties as wife and mother would allow. Father often reminded us that, as bad as things may get, we have Our Lady of Fatima s assurance that Her Immaculate Heart will triumph, we have the Scripture s assurance that Our Lady will crush the devil s head, so there is nothing to fear. And I was strengthened by all of the messages of the support that The Fatima Center was receiving. One person wrote that Father s death leaves us with a profound determination and drive to keep the work moving forward and [proclaiming the message] louder than ever before. We meet here in Washington at a time of a deep and profound crisis in the world. The war in Syria and the Ukraine, a refugee and illegal immigration crisis, a $19 trillion American national debt, an aggressive Russia and China, the scourge of ISIS, the satanic harvesting of fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood, the highest court in the land ruling in favour of homosexual marriage, and an ever coarsening and anti-christian culture all compete for headlines. More than that, I know I m not alone in the feeling that this is just the beginning, that things will 38 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

most certainly get worse, that something wicked comes this way. Along with the crisis in the world, there is a profound crisis in the Church. Sister Lucy of Fatima said that the final battle between Our Lord and Satan will be over marriage and the family. It is ominous that next month s Synod at the Vatican threatens Catholic teaching and practice on marriage and the family. On Thursday [September 24], the Holy Father will address a joint session of Congress. In his speech, the Pope may well touch on some of the issues that bedevil the people of the United States and world. He may even propose certain ideas to address those issues. Father Gruner wanted us to be here this week because we know that only one idea will work. We know that only Mary can help us. We know that the crisis in the world and the Church is too far gone for human solutions. We know that the only thing that will turn the tide against Satan and his legions is the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Over the next three days we will proclaim that message here in this hall. May we all derive many graces from the Masses that will be celebrated here and many insights and much inspiration from the talks to be given by our excellent speakers. And when this conference ends and we return to our homes, communities and parishes, may we keep up the fight, by praying our daily Rosary, carrying out our duties of state to the best of our abilities, fulfilling the Five First Saturdays devotion first for ourselves and then for others and by constant prayer and sacrifices for our loved ones, the Holy Father, the Church and the world. Father Gruner is no longer here to lead us. But he taught us the crucial truths we need to save our soul and the souls of others. In human terms, we have no chance we are few in number and the forces of darkness arrayed against us are overwhelming. But because we have Our Lady and Her Blessed Son on our side, our ultimate victory is assured. May all of us together continue Father s work until the Consecration of Russia and the Triumph of Our Lady s Immaculate Heart. Thank you for your support and your prayers. May God bless us all. 40 NEW LIGHT ON THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA An excerpt of a speech given by Suzanne Pearson at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Suzanne Pearson Our Lady chose Russia for a very special task. Once it is consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart, She will use Russia to bless all other nations, bringing peace to the whole world. Why She chose Russia as Her instrument is a design locked in the Heart of God. Churchmen find reasons not to consecrate Russia. But why not just try it? Why is there so much resistance to just trying it? There would be such great benefits! Our Lady promises peace to the whole world! Peace! Doesn t everyone long for peace? My only conclusion is that some people actually oppose these great benefits. Everyone may want peace, but not on Our Lady s terms. Peace means different things to different people. The Communists used to say that peace will come when all the world is Communist. All real enemies of the Church want peace on their own terms, not on Our Lady s. Others want peace, but not yet... or peace, but not until If we look at history, men have always wanted peace, but nations, or their leaders, have been willing to sacrifice peace, at least for a time, in order to gain objectives they considered important enough. Warring nations would not sign peace treaties before gaining certain borders, certain hegemony, certain trade concessions, or other objectives. They never wanted to get locked into a situation that, with a little more fighting, they might be able to change. Peace implies stability. No one wants to stabilize a status quo that is not in their favor. This applies a priori to the revolutionaries, who have always claimed that, in order to advance their goals, they depend on instability, on constant upheaval. Another reason people might hesitate to accept Our Lady s 40 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

Six priests led Our Lady in procession through the streets of Washington D.C. peace plan is the fear of returning to a Catholic world. Spoiled by the greater freedom offered by liberalism, some might dread the thought of regressing to a world of obedience, sacrifice, expiation, and self-control. This does not apply only to enemies of the Church. Each one of us must ask himself: To what degree have I accepted the new way? For some of us, it might be the relaxation of the rules of fasting that we appreciate; for others it might be the more permissive dress code, or the greater opportunities for women. Some might see a certain value in the Church s greater opening to the world, on a cultural or political level. To say nothing of easier annulments or more options in family planning. How much of all this would still remain in Our Lady s converted world? Those who spend years obstructing the Consecration of Russia just don t believe in Fatima, at least not in all of it. Or do they? Are we really dealing with a lack of Faith? What I see is rather a gnawing suspicion that maybe it is true, maybe Holy Mary really does have the power to actually bring about what She promises. For enemies of the Church, this possibility is terrifying. The devil is not an atheist. He and his minions also believe, and tremble. The Fatima Crusader Winter

The Vatican today is controlled by those who either oppose the Consecration of Russia or are directed by unseen supporters or benefactors, possibly even blackmailers, whom they believe they cannot cross. When we encounter an iron wall at the Vatican, it may really be a paralysis of fear. So what can we do? The Need for Consecration I think we have to face the fact that those fighting furiously against the Consecration of Russia are hardened enemies. They are not going to be won over by more education. They are not going to be convinced by explanations, intellectual arguments, or crystal-clear proofs. They are working for the other side. They need to be converted or they need to be outsmarted. Of course, we want their conversion. But until they convert, we must outsmart them. We must seize opportunities to work around them. We know that Our Lord rewards halfway measures, like the consecrations of the world performed by Popes Pius XII and John Paul II. I would like to suggest a different halfway measure, based on what happened in Portugal in the 1930s. On May 13, 1931, Cardinal Cerejeira, Archbishop of Lisbon, together with all his bishops, in the presence of 300,000 pilgrims, solemnly consecrated Portugal to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. What followed has been called the Miracle of Portugal. Catholic life flourished as never before. Vocations absolutely exploded. After decades of Masonic control, the new civil government was the most Catholic administration in Europe. Even Pope Pius XI marveled at Portugal s remarkable transformation and credited it to Our Lady of Fatima. The most astounding part of the Portuguese miracle was the Miracle of Peace. While the Spanish Civil War raged all along its borders, Portugal remained untouched. Cardinal Cerejeira and the bishops of Portugal renewed their national Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 13, 1938, in fulfillment of a solemn vow they had taken two years earlier to return and give thanks to the Most Holy Virgin, Mother of God, in the name of the whole nation, if She obtained for Portugal victory over atheistic Communism and the benefit of peace. Cardinal Cerejeira was able to exultantly affirm: The blessing of peace... which we... confidently requested at Fatima 42 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

has been granted to us almost miraculously. Mary Cannot Be Outdone in Generosity. Not only was Portugal spared a Communist takeover in the 1930 s, but on February 6, 1939, seven months before the declaration of World War II, Sister Lucy wrote to bishop da Silva that in this horrible war Portugal will be spared because of the national Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary made by the Bishops. And to Pope Pius XII she wrote on December 2, 1940, Most Holy Father, Our Lord promises a special protection to our country in this war, due to the consecration of the nation, by the Portuguese Prelates, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary; as proof of the graces that would have been granted to other nations, had they also consecrated themselves to Her. Based on these writings of Sister Lucy, I suggest that we follow the example of Portugal. Let s try to get individual nations to consecrate themselves, so that at least these countries will be protected from the coming chastisements. Perhaps the Cardinal Primate and bishops of some countries today could be motivated to provide that protection for their own people. But if bishops are unwilling, let s try to get civic leaders to do it. After all, the Sacred Heart of Jesus asked King Louis XIV to consecrate France, and He was pleased with the consecration of Ecuador to His Sacred Heart performed by President Garcia Moreno in If dignitaries inside Russia are now showing an interest in Our Lady s promises to Russia, this might be a good time to suggest the Consecration of Russia by its own prelates, as was done in 1931 in Portugal, or by its own civic leaders, if these are more amenable to the idea right now. If the consecration of the world, as a halfway measure, brought such great benefits, and if the Consecration of Portugal brought a three-fold miracle to that nation, think what the consecration of Russia by its leaders might bring! The more countries we can get consecrated, the more benefits we will receive from God. Where we can t get countries consecrated, let s try for states, provinces, dioceses, counties, cities, and towns. Fr. Joaquin Maria Alonso, C.F.M., the official archivist of Fatima, reported in 1943 that 41 Spanish dioceses, as well as many parishes, military and civic associations The Fatima Crusader Winter

in Spain had consecrated themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Having suffered through the Spanish Civil War and experienced first-hand the cruelty of the Communists, it is no wonder that the Spanish people, at that time, grasped the protective hand of Our Lady. Even today, in this ever more secular age, there must be at least some bishops, governors, or mayors willing to take this step. When hard times come, the rest of the world will see the prosperity of those places and be moved to follow their example. To reach our greater goal, the conversion of the enemies of Fatima, let s recommit ourselves to the personal side of Our Lady s plan for peace. Are we faithful to the daily Rosary, reciting it devoutly? Do we make a priority of fulfilling Our Lady s First Saturday requests? Are we consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary? Sister Lucy listed four essential elements in this personal consecration: grace, penance, the Rosary, and reparation. First, grace: We must live in the state of grace. Second, we must do penance. Lucia quotes Our Lord as saying: The sacrifice required of every person is the fulfillment of his duties in life and the observance of My law. This is the penance that I now seek and require. Third, the daily Rosary. Fourth, reparation: the Communion of reparation on the First Saturday for five consecutive months. When these requirements for the personal consecration are lived by each person, concluded Sister Lucy, the Consecration by the Holy Father will be realized. Like the Fatima children, we can do even more. Our Lord said that some demons can only be cast out by prayer and fasting. We can fast from food and from many other things as well. So let s look for ways to do penance while we multiply our Rosaries. Humbly aware that no amount of expiation can atone for the enormity of insults Our Lord has suffered at the hands of His creatures, we know that at some point He will take pity on us and give the Holy Father the grace he needs to consecrate Russia. We have Our Lord s promise that someday it will be done, and peace will come to the world. Let us do all that we can to hasten that day. Order a DVD of the entire speech or the whole set of 13. 45 THEY FIRED BULLETS AND ARROWS AT HIM Another Piece in the Third Secret Puzzle An excerpt of a speech given by Mr. Ferrara at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Christopher A. Ferrara, Esq. Piecing together the mystery of the Third Secret of Fatima is like the process of piecing together a jigsaw puzzle. With only a few pieces in place, the picture is difficult if not impossible to see. As more and more pieces are fitted together within the frame, however, it soon becomes obvious what the puzzle as a whole will reveal. Where the Third Secret is concerned, we have long since passed the point where the major pieces of the puzzle reveal the big picture: that the Secret foretells a divine chastisement of both the Church and the world, following an internal attack on the Church by her enemies within. That piece of the puzzle which pertains to the internal enemies of the Church was revealed by Pope Benedict XVI during his pilgrimage to Fatima in May of 2010, when he declared that in the Secret: are indicated future realities of the Church which are little by little developing and revealing themselves... As for the novelty that we can discover today in this message, it is that attacks on the Pope and the Church do not come only from outside, but the sufferings of the Church come precisely from within the Church, from sins that exist in the Church. This has always been known, but today we see it in a really terrifying way: that the greatest persecution of the Church does not come from enemies outside, but arises from sin in the Church. 1 At this point in the mystery, it becomes easier and easier to complete the puzzle because so many of the major pieces are now in place. One of the first pieces, as we know, involved Sister The Fatima Crusader Winter

Lucia s revelation, recorded on two different envelopes pertaining to the Secret, that the Blessed Virgin (contrary to the lying representations of Cardinal Bertone) had expressly ordered that the Secret was to be revealed in 1960 because, as Lucia explained, it would be clearer (mais claro) then. Unparalleled Church Crisis Certainly that element of the Secret that predicts an unparalleled crisis in the Church I mean the text the Vatican has withheld, wherein the Blessed Virgin explains the meaning of the obscure vision published in 2000 would have been clearer in In that year revolution was beginning in both the Church, with the calling of the Second Vatican Council, and the world at large, which underwent an accelerated descent into total depravity. (Anyone who is old enough to remember those days will recall that the Sixties were a time in which it seemed that both the Church and society had crossed over a threshold into a state of affairs the once Christian West had never seen before.) Today, so many large pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place that even the smallest pieces are now readily fitted into the picture. For example, the Synod on the Family, where we see precisely that the greatest persecution of the Church does not come from enemies outside, but arises from sin in the Church. Thus it is no surprise that in the Message of Akita, which Pope Benedict (then Cardinal Ratzinger) confirmed is an extension of Fatima such that these two messages, of Fatima and Akita, are essentially the same, 2 we read what can only be a foretelling of the very thing we see at work in the Synod: The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church. One will see Cardinals opposing other Cardinals... and bishops confronting other bishops. The priests who venerate Me will be scorned and condemned by their confreres; churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will tempt many priests and religious to leave the service of the Lord. 3 And yet, one small but seemingly important piece of the puzzle has always seemed odd and completely out of place to me. It is Sister Lucia s revelation that in the vision of the Bishop dressed in White 46 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

It was hard not to notice over one hundred participants complete with Fatima T-shirts and placards, praying the Holy Rosary and singing the Fatima Ave. With faith and perseverance there is always a way. Our Lady will do the rest and She DID! the future Pope s executioners fired bullets and arrows at him. Arrows? What is the meaning of this reference to such primitive weaponry? One might be tempted to think that surely Lucia must have stumbled here, that Our Lady could not possibly mean literally that a future Pope would be hunted down and killed by men wielding bows and arrows. Here too, however, developments over the passage of time seem to have allowed us to fit even this odd little piece into the bigger picture with a resounding and quite chilling confirmation of what is actually the great significance of a seemingly incongruous detail. We Will Conquer Your Rome, Break Your Crosses, Enslave Your Women... ISIS Consider first a recent article in the ISIS magazine Dabiq, quoting a fanatical Imam who The Fatima Crusader Winter

prophesies as follows: We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. Next consider a recent article in the Italian daily Il Giornale, which may well provide one of those precise historical clues that clarify a prophecy as its fulfillment nears (like the ripening fig tree that heralds the coming of Spring, to use Our Lord s parable of the advent of the Last Days). The article reports on an e-book being distributed to Muslim militants that provides instructions to prepare for the conquest of Rome by learning to use various weapons, including home-made bows and arrows. The idea is to stockpile weapons whose possession is not currently illegal so that they can be employed in urban guerrilla warfare. As the instruction manual states: The advent of the war for the conquest of Rome will consist primarily of the urban guerilla in the cities and streets of Europe. Suddenly the reference to a Pope of the future being slain by bullets and arrows falls into place in the grand puzzle that is being completed before our eyes. Can we be certain this is so? Without the Virgin s own explanation of the vision for which the Vatican has substituted the ludicrous interpretation of the Vatican Secretary of State we obviously cannot be. Then again, it is always prudent to examine the signs of the times when Heaven itself has given us a warning of impending disaster a disaster to which nearly the entire hierarchy remains oblivious as they persevere in the ruinous course of the past fifty years of drift and decay in the Church and widening apostasy in the world. 49 From Fatima to Washington, D. C.: THE LINKS IN OUR LADY S ROSARY Dr. David Allen White is a retired Professor of Literature and perhaps the leading national expert on Shakespeare. Following are excerpts of a speech he gave at our conference held in Washington, D.C., in September by Dr. David Allen White I would like to dedicate this talk to our dear departed great priest beloved of Our Blessed Mother obviously for all the work he did, and those of us who are lucky enough to have known him and heard him and have him before us for the rest of our days as a model, as a model of what we should do. Now, I do have to say one thing. I m looking around and I don t see children here. I m going to be talking about children today, but this is not a talk that younger children should hear. I don t see any, so I don t think it s a worry. Teenagers may listen, and teenagers probably should listen. So that s not just for those in this room, but it would also be if this gets played elsewhere for those people who are watching it or listening to it. Please parents, be aware this really is a talk for adults and young adults there are some things I need to discuss, that the younger children should not hear. Why is that? Well, let me start with one of the obvious things about children that we take for granted. That is, the sheer innocent joy that children represent in our lives from the time we were very young, and were children ourselves those wonderful days when we were fairly carefree. Children can be very naughty; I m not letting them off the hook, mind you. As we all know they re touched indeed with Original Sin they can be naughty but there is the special joy and innocence of childhood that s quite unique. I think it is not accidental that when Our Lady came to Fatima to deliver the most important message of the 20th Century, and one that still extends to our time, She spoke to three The Fatima Crusader Winter

shepherd children. It follows a pattern in the 19th Century, when She came to La Salette and spoke to children. There are other apparitions some of which are debated but in many cases, very often, She is speaking to children. What is this? Why is this? What is that special joy? Indeed, one of the terrible aspects of the destruction of the family is that entire families no longer live together. We ve been scattered all over the landscape. It s very hard to keep family in one area and it s even harder to keep families in one home. It s very clear that the intention from the beginning of what a family is, is that you should have the children, you should have the parents, and you should have grandparents, all living together or at least very close by, because that s a family. Also the joy that the children bring to the grandparents you know the old saying: If I had known being a grandparent was so much fun, I would have had the grandchildren first. You see these poor older folks who are shunted into old folks homes; what happens to them when a child comes into their midst, the joy they become filled with, the joy on their faces. It is one of the small victories of the devil that he s managed to destroy the family in that way. It s a shame because the children can bring that innocent joy. Why, what is it? Let me quote a poem. It s a beautiful little poem, one of the Songs of Innocence, by William Blake. The Lamb Little lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? Gave thee life & bid thee feed. By the stream & o er the mead; Gave thee clothing of delight, Softest clothing wooly bright; Gave thee such a tender voice, Making all the vales rejoice! Little lamb who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? Little lamb I ll tell thee Little lamb I ll tell thee! He is called by thy name For He calls Himself a Lamb He is meek and He is mild, He became a little Child: I a child and Thou a Lamb, We are called by His Name. Little lamb God bless thee. Little lamb God bless thee. It s a lovely poem. It explains for us, in very simple terms, the beauty and joy and innocence of childhood, because Our Lord, Himself, was Incarnate as a baby, as a little child. That Child, born in Bethlehem, was the way in which God chose to 50 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

enter the world. Indeed, those characteristics of the little Lamb, became the Lamb of God mentioned in the Mass from that time forward. It tells us that childhood and innocence are of a very special time. Well, the fact of the matter is, Our Lady (God Bless Her) did come. The official title that I gave to this talk although it s shifted somewhat was, The Links in Our Lady s Rosary: From Fatima to Washington, D.C., Where We Are Today. Now when I gave it that title, I was thinking of one thing in particular; but it has changed, and I ll make clear during this talk why those links have changed. I can start with a few of the Joyful Mysteries links which are these: The Annunciation The Blessed Mother is told that She has been chosen, and She consents. It is Her consent that makes possible the history of mankind from that point on. It all begins with the Blessed Mother s consent to be a Mother. She was a virgin; She consented to be a Mother. The Visitation is Mary s visit to St. Elizabeth. Now we have two children. God, in His infinite Mercy, has given Elizabeth a child in her old age and the child is in her womb. The child, of course, is John the Baptist. When the two women, the cousins, meet and embrace, the two children in the womb recognize each other. St. John leapt for joy in his Mother s womb, and the theologians tell us at that moment, he is freed from Original Sin. He becomes innocent because he will make way for the Lord. He is going to be the one. He will be the one who will baptize in the river Jordan, showing what needs to be done in the future. He has that joy, that excitement. That innocence is there while John the Baptist is still in the womb. The Nativity What we also know (it is not part of the Joyful Mysteries) takes place off-stage, if you will King Herod is out to kill that Child. The word had come that someone who will challenge his kingship has been born a little Boy and he orders that all of the male children be killed. It turns into one of the terrible sorrows of Our Lady. The joy of giving birth, but simultaneously, the knowledge that Herod has killed those children. It s a terrible burden. The Presentation in the Temple is Mary s complete submission to God s law, giving that Child in service to God; giving God, Himself, in service to God; doing what was The Fatima Crusader Winter

commanded of Her; commanded through Her from God Himself. She was always obedient to everything God wished Her to do an extraordinary thing. Then again, She was born immaculately, without Original Sin, so She could faithfully unlike us do everything that God required Her to do. And She did. The Finding of Our Lord in the Temple the discovery in the Temple when the Child is a bit older teaching. Then there is that mysterious gap of time, when Jesus went down to Nazareth and was subject to them to His father and His Mother. The Child, God Himself, was subject to a male father and a female Mother, showing the importance of the family; the necessity of the family, where God, Himself, will submit Himself to the order and structure and authority that is in the family an extraordinary thing. Then, of course, we have those years, the private years. During that time, where was He? He was at home with His father and His Mother. The bulk of Our Lord s time on this earth was spent with His family. We know He learned carpentry; He learned a trade. He didn t go to a university. He obviously learned much from His Mother, being there with this perfect Mother (speaking of His human nature). Again, what an extraordinary gift! When at that moment on the Cross He gave Her to Saint John, He gave Her to all of us. That perfect Mother is our Mother now. It was a great, great gift. On the way to the Cross, He sees His Mother. She knows what is happening. She understands what the necessity of it is, but the sorrow is overwhelming. So, even the most perfect of mothers can feel terrible suffering for their children, even when they know certain things are inevitable and must happen. Then another extraordinary thing happens when Our Lord speaks to the women of Jerusalem and says: Do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. He knew what was going to happen. Again, He is instructing the mothers to weep for themselves, selfishly? No! for your children. 54 Our Lady of Fatima is the Answer to: THE WAR AGAINST LIFE An excerpt of a speech given by Stasia Vogel at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Stasia Vogel, J.D. You ve heard from many scholars and speakers but I would like you to just think of me as nothing more than a cheerleader, to kind of jump start you and charge your batteries and cheer you on because we have an arsenal of power to smash the diabolical. And in the end, Our Lady, as the Commander of this Army shall restore the Church and the family and the value of life. These enemies who produced the one-world system the population controllers, the Gates, Warren Buffett, Obama, politicians who play games with us they should be no more than gnats annoying the lion. But it will not come easy to have this victory. Our inaction lets them prosper. I spent my life as an activist in Pro-Life from the day I heard the decision that abortion was legal in the United States and, actually, before that, because New York State already had legal abortion. It was a terrible day. I was a Vietnam era war bride. One day a Communist prisoner of war, a Columbian Father, dropped by my house and gave me a Child s Rights pamphlet Abortion, the Contraceptive Society. It just started me thinking and I haven t stopped since then. We ve done everything we could in Buffalo and I encourage you to do whatever you can, wherever you are, because people come to the Church, people come to the Faith through Pro-Life. It s happened many, many times. Women who have had the worst lives and end up having their child that they may not have wanted it s amazing how you see their lives change. Everything turns around, the Hand of God comes upon them. They suffer all this gloom and doom that the abortion peddlers give them. It stops. At any rate, I m trained, basically, to try cases and prove facts based on evidence. Today, we re sort of drowning in an 54 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

ocean of evidence. In five short decades, our Church, our culture, our schools, our government has been totally upended. You all know this; it s upside down from 50 years ago. If we walked in that 50 years to today, we would probably have to be revived because of the shocking changes in our government. This is war and ground has been taken from us every day. There isn t one day that we aren t losing ground in what we re doing Those people who should be screaming Murder! Tyranny! Traitor! are silent. We re in a train wreck and we have daily doses of propaganda. I have an interesting quote I ll give you, by John F. Kennedy, seven days before his assassination: There is a plot in this country to enslave every man and woman and child. Before I leave this high and noble office I intend to expose this plot. As you can see, this is the way we were at one time. We had these kind of people; we had this Church, we had these solid Catholic books; we had everything; then, all of a sudden, just like that, just like a lightning flash gone. So what is going on here? You have to understand that satan is the master divider. He divided the angels, he divided Adam and Eve. He divided Cain and Abel and he divided the Church. And you know from your own experience the division between traditionalists, neocans, conservatives, modernists. This is in 50 years! We re not fighting the enemy; we re fighting each other. Just try bringing up traditionalism with Modernists and they want to slap you upside the head, call you names and have you carted off to the Looney bin just because you re propounding what the Church always was! I envision the devil as a slim, good looking guy, in an expensive suit, with his feet up on a nice, long desk, Park Avenue penthouse; leaning back in his executive chair, having a smoke and laughing his head off because squabbling Catholics are doing his work for him, tearing one another apart. Whoever heard of Catholics attacking Catholics before the 60s? It was unheard of, but that s what has happened. I m sure most of you could raise your hand and tell me your own stories of abuse. You get called a religious fanatic, a radical, a conservative and people The Fatima Crusader Winter

squabble worse than a group of five-year-olds having temper tantrums with each other. Modern Catholics are supposed to be fighting the real enemy, together with us! And what does the devil do? He distracts them. Make sure you look over here; look over there; look at this fight about this. But when the real enemy and all these diabolical things are happening they do nothing. The game has changed. For years, many changes were passed by the clergy and modernized nuns and people that could not get their bearings. It s like the jail plan at the Buffalo Holding Center. I ve interviewed prisoners there; some of the Pro-Life protesters, and I asked the Sheriff: What is this? We have to go up the stairs, down the stairs, back and forth. Well, he said, that s designed to confuse and disorient, so, if there s a jailbreak, there s not a clean run to the door. It s what we do to confuse and disorient. No chance of escape. So, instead of fighting the enemy, Catholics are confused and disorientated and sniping at each other and it s not good. Is God angry? You bet. There are probably 500 million unconceived souls. Do you realize the number of people that should be here today, living in this country, that were the victims of contraception that was pushed through by Richard Nixon. The people were told: If you don t agree to this, then shut your mouths and put these paid for contraceptive deals into action. Next time around, the Supreme Court had its order and they legalized abortion and here we sit. The Holy Spirit is the Lord, the Giver of life. This is the sin against the Holy Spirit, spoken of in Scripture, that cries down from Heaven with vengeance. Are you willing to march through hell on earth for a Heavenly cause? When temptation comes; when you worry; when you re afraid; when the frustrations of people and life get you angry; when somebody is back-biting you or calling you all kinds of ugly things; when your family is going crazy Instead of spending your day worrying, just make it a prayer right away and you d be surprised how wonderful things happen. The Blessed Mother will intervene for you. Call on Her. She is waiting for you. Order a DVD of Stasia Vogel s entire speech or the whole set of 13. See pages 53 and The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

EUCHARISTIC HERESIES THE WARNINGS OF FATIMA An excerpt of a speech given by Cornelia at our Only the Pope Can Save Washington Conference, September 22 24, by Cornelia R. Ferreira, M.Sc. The Guardian Angel of Portugal held a chalice with a Host suspended above it, from which some drops of Blood fell into the chalice. Leaving the chalice suspended in the air, the Angel taught the children this prayer: Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Then the Angel gave the Sacred Host to Lucia. He shared the Sacred Blood from the chalice between Jacinta and Francisco, saying: Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men! Make reparation for their crimes and console your God. The chief points made by the Angel are: First, the fundamental Catholic teaching that Jesus is physically present, in both His human and divine natures, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, under the appearances of bread and wine, after the consecration at Mass and in the consecrated Hosts reserved in every tabernacle. Second, lack of belief in this doctrine produces indifference towards Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and sacrileges are being committed against Him in Holy Communion and in the tabernacle. Third, God is so offended that He had to send an Angel to teach us to make reparation. (Later on, He even sent His Mother to further instruct us.) We are clearly living through the times that have The Fatima Crusader Winter

been prophesied. Communist infiltrators, helped by modernists, have been spreading the religion of man within Catholicism. Let s consider just a few outrages, sacrileges and indifference this has produced in most Churches. Removing the tabernacle from its central place of honor inevitably led to the loss of the sense of the sacred. Our eyes, minds and hearts could no longer focus on our King, and He automatically suffered a loss of prestige. Is it coincidence that along with the removal of the tabernacle, children were no longer taught how to behave in church, decent dress disappeared, and so did genuflection, silence, recollection, awe? The focal point of worship inevitably became the community, and those community members flitting around, exercising leadership within the sanctuary. Outrages multiplied as the Church became a noisy meeting place, and eventually, a theatre featuring blasphemous liturgies and loud profane music, drama and dance as part of the liturgical entertainment. Bulletins listing the roles of the various performers, and applause for them, complete the impression of entertainment. By the way, the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship stated in 1975 that liturgical dancing would desacralize the liturgy and introduce an atmosphere of profanity. But rules don t matter today, especially after the example given by Pope John Paul II. So Masses vary in creativity according to the celebrant, the occasion, or the community. Further, with Jesus replaced by man, out went exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, Forty Hours devotion, perpetual adoration, Corpus Christi processions, and so on. Jesus became the object of a colossal indifference, as predicted at Fatima. Visits to the Blessed Sacrament were no longer promoted, thus ensuring the loss of many graces and lights. Closed churches discouraged visits and gave a whole new generation the impression that the church is only a place for communal worship or gettogethers. So dead is the belief that it s the House of God really present, that pagan and false rituals now take place in Catholic churches. Surely, is turning the house of God into a temple of idolatry, in which the First Commandment is broken, one of the outrages mentioned by the Angel of Fatima? Even if the Mass with false rituals inserted 58 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

All ages joined in the procession. into it is carried out in a field or stadium, it is still a grave sin against the First Commandment and a monumental outrage against God... The emphasis on the Mass as a meal is seen as crucial to effecting a feeling of oneness and community in the parish. A booklet bearing the Imprimatur of the former Primate of Ireland, Abp. Dermot Ryan, teaches: When we go to Mass we have to focus on the people. The Eucharist is a true meal with one another. The family meal at home is one of the best forms of preparing for the Eucharist. Lay greeters at the door, the sign of peace, and greeting each other during Mass, complete the atmosphere of a friendly community meal. The whole focus of the Mass has changed to its being a commemoration of Christ s Sacrifice on the Cross and a memorial of the Last Supper, rather than the actual Sacrifice being re-enacted upon the altar. These are Protestant heresies condemned by the Council of Trent: If anyone says that in the Mass a true sacrifice is not offered to God, or that the act of offering is nothing else than Christ being given to us to eat; if anyone says that the sacrifice is a mere commemoration of the sacrifice consummated on the Cross, but not one of propitiation [or petition] let him be anathema. Pius XII also condemned the sophistical contention that the Mass besides being a Sacrifice is also the banquet of a community of brethren, which can only be licit if the faithful receive Communion, regarded as the culminating point of the whole celebration. This error has produced the belief that Communion is a right, hence The Fatima Crusader Winter

the lobbying for divorced and remarried Catholics to receive Communion to show their unity with the community. With the focus being the community and banquet, today, full participation means accepting the call to a leadership role at the feast. This means being a liturgical minister a reader, cantor, music minister, liturgy designer, eucharistic minister, cup minister and, I guess, dance ministers now. There are also the lesser ministries of ushers, greeters, etc. I got this bulletin last Sunday from a nearby church. On the front cover it has a section titled Ministries. It lists 30 varieties, but there are many more. Anything a lay person does for the parish is a ministry. Many good people have been led to believe they must have a ministry in order to serve the Church. They truly believe they are helping remedy a priest shortage or taking some of the load off the priest. Unfortunately, no matter how altruistic their motive, they are helping the modernist feminist agenda of using a plethora of lay ministries to destroy the ordained priesthood, and the very identity of the Church herself. I ll get to that in a few minutes. But first let s consider another major source of outrages against the Holy Eucharist Communion in the hand. Communion in the Hand Communion in the hand contradicts the Church teaching enunciated by St. Thomas Aquinas, viz., Out of reverence towards this Sacrament, nothing touches it but what is consecrated. Only the hands of a priest are consecrated. Communion in the hand was condemned in the 7 th Century to halt widespread abuses, and as a safeguard against sacrilege. However, Protestants adopted this practice to manifest their belief that there is no such thing as Transubstantiation and Holy Orders, and the bread is just ordinary bread and the minister an ordinary man with no Godgiven power to consecrate. Communion in the hand has given rise to various sacrileges and heresies. First, it s the justification for lay eucharistic ministers, including nuns. If a lay person could receive Communion in his unconsecrated hands, then he could distribute It to others. This immediately decreased reverence towards the Blessed Sacrament and other sacrileges followed: Consecrated Hosts left on pews, sometimes in pieces; carried in pockets; passed 60 The Fatima Crusader Winter 2015

around the classroom; dropped on streets; sold on e-bay; and easily procured for the ultimate profanation in Black Masses. The second result of Communion in the hand is that once lay eucharistic ministers became the norm, the floodgates were opened to a torrent of other liturgical ministries that have contributed to the downgrading of the priesthood and to other heresies. These ministries are the back door to women s ordination. The all-male priesthood is an affront to the feminist concept of equality, a concept derived from Communism and Masonry, and an error of Russia, about which Our Lady of Fatima warned. The feminist strategy is to involve females in other liturgical roles to prepare a climate of acceptance for priestesses, as congregations get used to seeing women around the altar. The Feminist Agenda The American religious feminist leader Rosemary Ruether explained: A growing practice of ministry shared by men [i.e., priests] and women will develop on local congregational levels. A certain educational process will go on between women and ordained males on the injustices of the restrictions placed on their female colleagues. Laity will become used to seeing women minister in a number of adjunct roles and wonder why not Sacraments. Perhaps there will be discussions... Eventually more bishops will be consecrated who wonder at the absurdity of the exclusion (with a growing example of women in full sacramental ministry in other churches). Jewish feminist Naomi Goldenberg confirms this strategy that makes use of devout women who are unaware of the feminist agenda. She says these reformists and their clerical supporters think using inclusive language and promoting women s ordination are means of improving the practice of their religion by encouraging women to share the responsibilities of worship equally with men, i.e., with priests. That phrase, share the responsibilities of worship, clothes the revolution against the priesthood in fuzzy, positive terms. Goldenberg openly admits that these so-called reforms challenge the basic nature of Christianity; they are not minor alterations, but major departures from tradition that will shake [Christianity] at its roots. Thus, according to feminist leaders, lay ministries are designed to destroy The Fatima Crusader Winter

the foundations of our religion; and they are a transitional step to priestesses. Limiting the priest s function merely to consecrating makes him an ecclestiastical technician says Fr. McLucas. He s correct. Parishes increasingly believe they possess what s called communal ownership of the liturgy. Owning the liturgy and taking over the priest s duties has led to the condemned heretical belief that the priest does not get his authority directly from God, through the Apostles, but from the community. This belief is tied to the assertion, We are eucharist people or, We are a eucharistic community. It s just another term for a Protestantized Catholic parish. A eucharistic community is defined as one in which No individual member holds status or authority that... is not derived from the community itself... Every minister is empowered by the community s/he serves. In other words, the priest is a minister equivalent to lay ministers, and you are only a priest if somebody wants you and if the eucharistic community commissions you. The commissioning of the priest by the community is symbolized by the routine processing of the priest from the back of the Church to the sanctuary before Mass as if he were in some way coming from the people ; and his processing to the back after Mass as if he were returning to the people. Formerly, his place was only in the sanctuary, which he entered and exited from the sacristy, to signify he had been chosen by God and set apart from the people as the Lord s anointed; and the Communion rail delineated that separation. This coup d état is painted as altruism and a blessing: this shared leadership among ordained and non-ordained members of the Church is considered a grace in a time of crisis (i.e., a time with a priest shortage ). The eucharistic community believes the transfer of responsibility to all the Baptized has blessed the Church. Pastors who don t share responsibility are dictators or autocrats. So emboldened are the laity, that reporting on a recent meeting of lay ecclesial movements in Toronto, the front page of the Archdiocesan paper crowed, Move Over Father, the Laity are Here!
