1 100 - Year Anniversary Conference OUR LADY OF FATIMA Conference 4 3 rd MESSAGE and THE ROSARY Grace for Humanity MESSAGE #3 A Symbolic Key to the 20 th Century In many ways, The Apparition of July 13 th 1917 proved to be the MOST CONTROVERSIAL aspect of THE MESSAGE OF FÁTIMA. The reason being was that the first two parts of the message: THE VISION OF HELL and the prophecy of the future role of Russia and how to prevent it by means of Consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary these things were not revealed to the world until Sr. Lucia wrote them down in her THIRD MEMOIR, at the request of her Bishop, in the year 1941 For over 24 years, Sr. Lucia kept the first TWO PARTS of the Message to herself! And then there s the 3 rd part usually called the Third Secret THIS ONE remained in the VAULT of SILENCE until May 13, That s 83 YEARS following the Apparition of the White Lady. On May 13, 2000 St. John Paul II chose to reveal the contents of the THIRD SECRET on the day when two out of the three children of Fatima, Jacinta and Franciso, were Beatified. They who this VERY DAY in Fatima through the WORDS OF POPE FRANCIS were declared SAINTS in Heaven. With over 400,000 people present for the celebration of the Holy Mass in Fatima, Jacinta and Francisco have NOW become the two youngest, non-martyred Saints in ALL OF CHURCH HISTORY. According to Sister Lucia, "THE BISHOP CLOTHED IN WHITE" who prays for all the faithful in the 3 rd part of THE SECRET: is the Pope. He s the one making his way with great difficulty towards the Cross amidst the corpses of those martyred (Bishops, Priests, Men and Women Religious and many Lay People), when suddenly, he too FALLS TO THE GROUND, apparently dead, under a hail of gunfire. After the ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT of John Paul II on the 13 th of May 1981, when all was said and done, John Paul the II concluded the following: "The assassin pulled the trigger, but it was it a Mother's Hand that guided the bullet's path, enabling the Pope in his throes to halt at the THRESHOLD OF DEATH " That bullet now rests in THE CROWN OF THE STATUE of Our Lady of Fatima One year following the assassination attempt, on May 12, 1982 Sister Lucia wrote a letter to St. John Paul and provided him with an indication for how to interpret the third part of the "SECRET." "The THIRD PART OF THE SECRET refers to Our Lady's words: If not [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated' (13-VII- 1917). The THIRD PART OF THE SECRET is a SYMBOLIC REVELATION, referring to THIS PART of the Message, conditioned by whether we accept or not what the Message itself asks of us: If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world.' Since WE DID NOT HEED THIS APPEAL OF THE MESSAGE, we see that it has been fulfilled Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not YET SEEN THE COMPLETE FULFILLMENT OF THE FINAL PART OF THIS PROPHECY, we are going towards it little by little with great strides if we DO NOT REJECT THE PATH of Sin, Hatred, Revenge, Injustice, Violations of the Rights of the Human Person, Immorality and Violence. 1

2 LET US NOT SAY that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the contrary it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In his kindness God WARNS US and calls us to the RIGHT PATH, while respecting the freedom he has given us; HENCE PEOPLE ARE RESPONSIBLE ". And so as Sr. Lucia points out: it is we, WE MERE HUMAN BEINGS all of us THROUGHOUT THE WORLD we are all responsible for our own punishment during the times in which we live. Because the challenge with the MESSAGE OF FATIMA is that it is multifaceted and therefore the fulfillment of that which was asked by the LADY IN WHITE is a multi-concerted effort that has to be made by the entire body of Christ at work in the world. IT'S NOT just one person's role, it wasn't just THE THREE CHILDREN'S JOB to experience Conversion, to Pray, to offer Sacrifices for those facing DEATH so that they might be spared from the Fires of Hell, to offer up their sufferings in the Hope of changing the course of History, to bear witness to the White Lady, to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to pray the Rosary daily so as to END WARS EVERYBODY from the littlest child who first folds his or her little hands in prayer ALL THE WAY UP TO THE POPE HIMSELF: we all have to do our part! I mean THE WHITE LADY was very specific in what she asked to be done in July of 1917 I shall come to the world to ask that RUSSIA BE CONSECRATED TO MY IMMACULATE HEART and I ask that on the first Saturday of every month Communions of reparation be made in ATONEMENT FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD." The Consecration of Russia and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is something that only the Holy Father could do. For Christ s PROMISE to St. Peter on the shores of Galilee spoken some 2000 years ago is a promise in which every single one of his successors SHARES IN by virtue of standing in his office. I give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven and whatever you bind on earth, I will bind in Heaven!" (Matthew Chapter 16, verse 19) It took all the way up until the 25th of March 25 in 1984 before a Pope had THE COURAGE and THE TRUST to fulfill that which only he could do. On that day, Pope St. John Paul II in Union with All the Bishops of the World, Consecrated all Individuals and Peoples of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary The following words were prayed during the course of this Consecration (words that you will hear shortly because following this Lesson from Heaven) for we will ECHO before Our Blessed Lord the words of the entire Consecration. For now, suffice to say that the following was PRAYED by the Holy Father on behalf of Christ s Body of Believers scattered throughout the world: The POWER OF THIS CONSECRATION lasts for all time and embraces all individuals, peoples and nations. It overcomes every evil that the Spirit of Darkness is able to awaken, and has in fact AWAKENED IN OUR TIMES, in the Heart of Man and in his History. Five years later, in a letter that she wrote on 8 November of 1989, Sister Lucia PERSONALLY CONFIRMED that this Solemn and Universal Act of Consecration corresponded to what Our Lady wished "Yes it has been done just as Our Lady asked, on 25 March 1984." The Holy Father fulfilled that which only he could do, but now what about the other part of that which OUR LADY has asked? "I ask that on the FIRST SATURDAY of every month Communions of reparation be made in ATONEMENT FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD." 2

3 That's something that's within all of our power to do and yet, and yet: HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THIS DEMAND FROM HEAVEN? And then from there, how many Believers actually take it seriously and not only believe it but mark it down in their SCHEDULES AND CALENDARS: First Saturday of every month - get to Mass and receive holy Communion in order to make reparation in ATONEMENT FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD " We still have lots of work to do Oh sure - three children were VISITED FROM HEAVEN some one hundred years ago but the Lessons learned at THE SCHOOL OF MARY, the Prophecies Spoken, and the Visions experienced are still just as REAL, just as APPLICABLE, just as URGENT TODAY as they were back then. In light of this truth, 20 years ago that s back in 1997 three years prior to revealing the contents of THE THIRD SECRET, St. John Paul II spoke the following: "The Lady of THE MESSAGE seems to read the Signs of the Times THE SIGNS OF OUR TIME with special insight... The insistent invitation of Mary Most Holy to penance is nothing but the manifestation of her maternal concern for the fate of the human family, in NEED OF CONVERSION and FORGIVENESS." Three years later on May 13 of the year 2000 at the end of the Holy Mass which had been presided by the Holy Father in Fatima, the ONE PLACE on EARTH where our Holy Father celebrated the Holy Mass this very day: CARDINAL ANGELO SODANO, the Secretary of State, announced the THIRD SECRET before the entire world and from there, he went on to provide the following words as a Guide for Interpretation: That text contains a PROPHETIC VISION similar to those found in Sacred Scripture, which do not describe photographically the details of future events, but synthesize and compress against a single background facts WHICH EXTEND THROUGH TIME IN AN UNSPECIFIED SUCCESSION AND DURATION. As a result, the text must be interpreted IN A SYMBOLIC KEY. The Vision of Fatima concerns above all the WAR WAGED BY ATHEISTIC SYSTEMS against the Church and Christians, and it describes the immense suffering endured by the witnesses of the faith in the last century of the second millennium. It is an INTERMINABLE Way of the Cross led by the Popes of the twentieth century For 17 years now, we have lived IN THE LIGHT OF HAVING RECEIVED THE FULLNESS of that which was taught to the three children during their time spent in THE SCHOOL OF MARY The decision of St. John Paul II to make public the THIRD PART OF THE "SECRET" of Fatima in the year 2000 brings to an end A PERIOD OF HISTORY marked by TRAGIC HUMAN LUST FOR POWER and EVIL, and yet somehow, this TIME is still pervaded by the Merciful Love of God and the watchful care of the Mother of Jesus and of the Church The WHITE LADY: Mary, The New Eve, The Mother of God, Our Blessed Mother was SENT TO EARTH in order to help ALL OF US recall forgotten Truths and Values. She s here to remind us that man's future is in JESUS CHRIST her Son ALONE and that each and every single one of us is an ACTIVE and RESPONSIBLE part of His Mystical Body at work on Earth for the SALVATION of SOULS!!! 3

4 CLASSES WITH THE WHITE LADY continued for the children between the months of July to October 13 of Every month, more and more people would gather at the site motivated out of Curiosity, Wonder, and Unbelief. Recall what THE WHITE LADY promised Lucia after being asked the following during the July 13 apparition: "I would like to ask who you are and if you will DO A MIRACLE so that EVERYONE WILL KNOW FOR CERTAIN that you have appeared to us." "You must come here every month and in October I will tell you who I am and WHAT I WANT. I will then PERFORM A MIRACLE so that all may believe." Then it came to pass, all throughout the night of October 12 and 13th rain had pummeled the earth and soaked the ground. Every Pilgrim that made their way to Fatima to be present for that which they had hoped to see: A MIRACLE BY OUR LADY, felt the sting of discomfort As the children made their way to the place where OUR LADY always appeared, they were surrounded by uncharitable comments and skepticism on the part of many. And then, THE WHITE LADY APPEARED as she promised that she would "What do you want of me?" Asked Lucia once again. I want a chapel built here in my honor. I want you to continue saying the Rosary every day. The war will end soon, and the soldiers will return to their homes. "Yes. Yes - will you tell me your name?" I am the Lady of the Rosary! "I have many petitions from many people. Will you grant them?" Some I shall grant, and others I must deny. People MUST AMEND THEIR LIVES and ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend our Lord any more, for He is already too much offended! "Is that all you have to ask?" There is NOTHING MORE As the Lady of the Rosary began rising towards the east, she then turned the palms of her hands which emanated THE LIGHT OF HEAVEN, she projected that light TOWARDS THE DARK SKY. For while the rain had stopped, dark clouds had continued to obscure the Son: the Light from her hands suddenly burst right through the clouds as Lucia EXCLAIMED: "Look at the Sun!!!" At that moment, 70,000 people before I go on to describe this and we share in eyewitness testimonies wrap your brains around what I'm talking about here. MCMAHON STADIUM has a seating capacity of 35,000. That's two times the amount of people AT THAT VERY MOMENT 70,000 people witnessed what has been called "THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN." 4

5 If you look at pictures on the Internet concerning THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN, you ll see a multitude of human beings whose faces are turned towards the heavens. Eyewitnesses attest that a GREAT CRY erupted among the people: "A MIRACLE! A MIRACLE!" Before the ASTONISHED EYES OF A GREAT MULTITUDE, whose aspect was biblical as they stood eagerly searching the sky, THE SUN TREMBLED, made sudden INCREDIBLE MOVEMENTS outside all cosmic laws In one place a woman cried out: "How terrible! There are even men who do not remove their hats before such a STUPENDOUS MIRACLE!" Here's an account from a PRO-GOVERNMENT ANTICLERICAL SECULAR news writer: "At one o'clock in the afternoon, midday by the sun, the rain stopped The grey mother-of-pearl tone SKY turned into a sheet of silver which broke up as the clouds were torn apart and the silver sun, enveloped in the same gauzy grey light, was seen to whirl and turn in the circle of broken clouds. A CRY WENT UP FROM EVERY MOUTH and people fell on their knees on the muddy ground... The light turned a BEAUTIFUL BLUE, as if it had come through the stained-glass windows of a Cathedral, and spread itself over the people who knelt with outstretched hands. The blue faded slowly, and then the light seemed to pass through yellow glass. Yellow stains fell against white handkerchiefs, against the dark skirts of the women. They were repeated on the trees and on the stones. PEOPLE WEPT and PRAYED WITH UNCOVERED HEADS, in the presence of a miracle they had awaited. The seconds seemed like hours, so vivid were they. Ti Marto the father of now St. Jacinta and St. Francisco reported the following: The sun turned EVERYTHING TO DIFFERENT COLOURS---yellow, blue and white. Then it shook and trembled. It looked like a wheel of fire that was going to fall on the people. They began to cry out, "We shall all be killed!" Others called to our Lady to save them They recited Acts of Contrition. ONE WOMAN BEGAN CONFESSING HER SINS OUTLOUD, ADVERTISING THAT SHE D DONE THIS AND THAT... When at last the sun stopped leaping and moving, we all breathed a sigh of relief. We were still alive, and THE MIRACLE that the children had foretold, had been seen by everyone Afterwards, people began asking each other what they d seen. The GREAT MAJORITY admitted to having seen the Trembling and the Dancing of the Sun; others affirmed that they saw the face of the Blessed Virgin; others, again, swore that the sun whirled on itself like a GIANT WHEEL THAT LOWERED ITSELF TO THE EARTH AS IF TO BURN IT IN ITS RAYS You believe because you see Thomas BLESSED are they who have not seen and yet BELIEVE! (John 20:29) Let's not get TOO DISTRACTED by the event known as THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN. Because EVERY DAY, just the fact that we re alive and floating in space on a planet we call Earth with oxygen to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, surrounded by the love of family and friends that s an EVERY MOMENT MIRACLE that people all over the world take for granted. As if it's something that's owed to us by means of a Cosmos that has no CAPACITY for INTELLIGENCE. What about The Miracle of JUST life itself? Never mind the sun DANCING AROUND in the sky for 10 minutes! 5

6 As children in THE SCHOOL OF MARY, our task is that of STAYING FOCUSED ON THE PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE THAT HAS BEEN IMPARTED TO US FROM HEAVEN and not on the rather embarrassing fact that God had to intervene once again in a Supernatural Way before 70,000 people so that we would but believe The NEWFOUND KNOWLEDGE that's been imparted to us from Heaven that we need to keep at the forefront of our minds and hearts as believers is that of THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYING THE ROSARY DAILY for the Lady in White asked this of us not once, not twice, BUT AT ALL SIX APPARITIONS as a matter of fact it's the only thing she repeated SIX TIMES in these or similar words: I want you to come here on the 13 th of next month. I want you to continue saying the Rosary EVERY DAY. And after each one of the Mysteries, my children, I want you to pray in this way: O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, SAVE US FROM THE FIRE OF HELL. Take all souls to Heaven, especially those who are most in need. The word itself: Rosary comes from the Latin word, ROSARIUM, which means rose garden or garland of roses. Throughout history, the Rose is one of the flowers that has been used to Symbolize the Virgin Mary, as we pray the Rosary, it s as though we re offering our Blessed Mother a SPIRITUAL BOUQUET OF ROSES which she in turn USES to obtain Graces for souls who need them the most. St. Louis de Monfort, in his book The Secret of the Rosary relates how St. Dominic, around the year 1208 received the Rosary from the Blessed Virgin as a means of converting the Albigensians and other sinners of his time. As the story goes, Dominic had withdrawn into a forest near Toulouse, where he prayed continuously for three days and three nights IMPOSING UPON HIMSELF HARSH PENANCES COMBINED WITH THE USE OF THE DISCIPLINE so lacerated was his body that he fell into a coma and that s when Our Lady appeared to him accompanied by three angels. She said, "Dear Dominic, do you know which WEAPON the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world?" "Oh, my Lady," answered Dominic, "you know far better than I do, because next to your Son Jesus Christ you have always been THE CHIEF INSTRUMENT OF OUR SALVATION." To which Mary replied, "I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the PRINCIPAL WEAPON has always been the Angelic Psalter, which is the foundation-stone of the New Testament. Therefore, if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, PREACH MY PSALTER." He rose from where he lay and with burning with zeal for the CONVERSION OF THE PEOPLE and headed straight for the Cathedral. Unseen Angels rang the bells to gather the people and Saint Dominic began preaching. Jus then, a HUGE STORM broke out, the earth shook, the sun was darkened, and there was so much thunder and lightning that everybody was very much afraid. The call being put forth was that of CONVERSION, AMMENDMENT OF LIFE and SEEKING THE PROTECTION OF MARY by means of praying the Rosary! So fervent was Dominic in his exhortation that day, that almost everyone in Toulouse was converted over to the Faith. So as to understand what Our Lady meant when she said: The Principal Weapon is the Angelic Psalter: PREACH MY PSALTER. We need to remember that during the first centuries of the Church, it had become a Monastic Practice to pray all 150 Psalms of the Bible every day during the Liturgy of the Hours. Often times the monks were joined by townspeople who, THOUGH ILLITERATE, wanted to share in this practice of praying the Psalms. And so they began praying on a string of 150 beads or knots in parallel fashion whenever the monks gathered for prayer. 6

7 The people substituted Ave Marias ( Hail Marys ) in exchange for the words of the Psalms. That s why the Rosary is structured the way that it is. Originally, the Rosary had 150 beads on it and you can still see these at times worn by some Religious but the one we re most accustomed to seeing is the Rosary as we know it today that is, with 50 beads upon which we pray the Hail Mary as we reflect upon a certain Mystery of our Lord's life. It took another 300 years, but eventually a CARTHUSIAN MONK divided the rosary into fifteen brackets (or decades) and a Dominican assigned Mysteries of our Lord s Life to each of the decades. These mysteries, as we know them today, are events in the life of Jesus as written in the gospels. WHY DO SUCH A THING??? It's because the Rosary is a means, a tool, a channel through which ANYONE and EVERYONE can meditate upon the story of our Savior s life from the moment of his Conception to the time of his unnatural death and Supernatural Resurrection!! That s why Our Lady calls it a WEAPON, because when we re BUSY CONTEMPLATING THE LIFE OF OUR SAVIOR, no other distractions and or temptations can wage war upon us!! The Rosary is THE ROSE OF ALL DEVOTIONS because within the contemplation of its mysteries, the interior of our souls are led to contemplate the Beautiful Fragrance of Salvation History as it has been revealed in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Pope Pius XII called it: A Compendium of the Gospel. For the MAIN FOCUS IS ON JESUS his birth, life, death and resurrection. The Our Fathers remind us that Jesus' Father God the Father is the ONE Through whom, With whom and Inn whom salvation has been INITIATED. It is the PERFECT prayer born out from the Heart of the Trinity and given to us by the Word made Flesh The Hail Mary is a prayer based in Scripture. It begins with the greeting spoken to Mary by the angel Gabriel at the time of the Annunciation: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you (Lk 1:28), and continues with the greeting spoken to her by her relative, St. Elizabeth: Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus (Lk 1:42). It remind us to join with Mary in contemplating the mysteries of our Salvation PONDERING THEM WITHIN OUR HEARTS while at one and the same time, they also make us aware that Mary was and is intimately joined with her Son in all the Mysteries of his earthly and heavenly existence and that we, like her, are called to intimately experience the Joys, Sorrows, and Luminous Glory of her Son's life. And finally: The Glory Be s remind us that THE PURPOSE OF ALL LIFE is to bring glory to the Trinity. SOLI DEO GLORIA Glory to God ALONE That is to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Pope Paul VI explained it this way: Without [contemplation] the Rosary is a body without a soul, and its recitation is in DANGER OF BECOMING A MECHANICAL REPETITION OF FORMULAS and of going counter to the warning of Christ: In praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words (Mt 6:7). By its nature the recitation of THE ROSARY CALLS FOR A QUIET RHYTHM AND A LINGERING PACE, helping the individual to meditate on the mysteries of the Lord s life as seen through the eyes of her who was closest to the Lord. 7

8 The ULTIMATE GOAL of meditating with the Rosary is to help us to know Jesus better and to bring us to union with Him. What sets the Rosary apart from ALL OTHER worldly types of Meditation practices, (Yoga, Zen Meditation, Transcendental Meditation, Buddhism, Chakra Meditation, and the list goes on and on) is that with the Rosary, we are not seeking to EMPTY OURSELVES but rather to FILL OUR MINDS and HEARTS with the Action of the Holy Spirit with the second person of the Trinity who accompanied God the Son along his earthly life s journey so that through Mary s intercession, we can be protected from the FLESH, the WORLD, and the DEVIL Back on August 6, That morning, Fr. Hubert Schiffer began his day with Mass in the Church of Our Lady s Assumption. When he finished, he headed to the nearby rectory for breakfast. He had just sat down to slice his grapefruit when there was a sudden, BLINDING FLASH OF LIGHT. A TERRIFIC EXPLOSION filled the air with one bursting thunder stroke, he recalled. An invisible force lifted me from the chair, hurled me through the air, shook me, battered me, [and] whirled me round and round like a leaf in a gust of autumn wind. Fr. Schiffer was a Jesuit missionary living in Hiroshima, and what he had seen was no ordinary flash of light. It was an atomic bomb that had exploded just eight city blocks from the church. Right within the FIREBALL DIAMETER of the bomb which was between two to four kilometers in length and it should have destroyed everything in its path. While the roof of the church was gone, its walls remained standing. THE TWO-STORY RECTORY WHERE FR. SCHIFFER WAS EATING BREAKFAST WAS INTACT; even the windows were still in place. Half a million people were ANNIHILATED IN THAT BLAST. Pictures of those who died can be found on the internet and they will leave you speechless Yet miraculously, the eight Jesuit priests living there all survived. Although they were only ONE KILOMETER from the epicentre of the blast (where the temperature was in excess of 20,000 to 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit), they sustained only minor injuries. They experienced absolutely no ill effects from their exposure to the radiation and did not have any loss of hearing. In fact, they had no visible long-term defects or sickness at all! How s that even possible? There s no question that it was a MIRACLE THAT DEFIED ALL HUMAN LOGIC. For apart from the church and the rectory, there were no buildings left standing anywhere near the vicinity. And while the Jesuits were not burned or injured in the initial blast, they should AT LEAST have all received enough radiation to be dead within a matter of minutes. Yet they were all spared. They had no doubt that Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, had protected them: We believe that we survived because we were LIVING THE MESSAGE OF FATIMA, said Fr. Schiffer. We lived and prayed the rosary daily in that home I leave this evening s final word to Venerable Bishop Fulton Sheen: "The Rosary is the book of the BLIND, where souls see and there enact the greatest drama of love the world has ever known; it is the book of the SIMPLE, which initiates them into mysteries and knowledge more satisfying than the education of other men; it is the book of the AGED, whose eyes close upon the shadows of this world, and open on the substance of the next. The power of the Rosary: it is beyond description " Our Lady of the Rosary Pray for US!!! 8
