Four candles, four promises continually offered to us by God, and all of them manifest in this one we light tonight: the Christ candle. In Christ we find the creative power of hope, the peace that comes from justice, the joy that must be shared, and the love that transforms us and makes all things new. All: In Christ we find light and life. One: As we worship on this Holy Night, may the light of Christ be kindled in us, and may the Life of Christ be born anew in our hearts, our minds, our lives. They looked up and saw a star shining in the east beyond them far, and to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night.
