4 *Reading of Scripture - Luke 1: In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord. 46 And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. The Elders welcome the opportunity to meet you, talk with you or pray for you after church. They will be stationed by the Communion Table following the service. The Sacrament of the Lord s Supper will be administered today. We are exhorted in Scripture to be reconciled one to another, in all humility, as we prepare to rejoice together in our reconciliation to the Father through Jesus Christ by one Spirit. Our Mercy Needs offering will be received today along with our general offering. Please designate your check accordingly. During the month of December, all Mercy Needs designated offerings will go to support relief efforts for Americans impacted by hurricanes Florence and Michael. Major flooding and damage was seen throughout the Carolinas and the Florida panhandle. In particular, one PCA church in South Carolina was flooded and three PCA churches in Panama City sustained major damages as did the vast majority of their congregants. 7 ANNOUNCEMENTS Church Envelopes If you would like church envelopes for next year and didn t have them this year, please contact the church office or Chris Bohmer at From the Office The Year End Reports are due into the office by Friday, December 28th, so that they can be put in a booklet. Please keep your report brief (no longer than a couple paragraphs of text) and send pictures. Christmas Program A Christmas Gathering will be held today from 3:30-5:00, with individuals and groups sharing gifts of musical talents and other presentations in keeping with our Christmas celebration of the birth of our Lord! We would like all partaking in the celebration to bring food to share during a time of fellowship following the presentations. If your last name initials begin with A-G bring fruit or veggies, H-R bring sweet deserts, and S-Z bring cheese/crackers or salty items. If you bring an allergen free food (i.e. gluten/wheat free, peanut/tree nut free) to eliminate cross contamination please place all allergen free items in the parlor. Other items should be brought to the church kitchen. The Christmas Gathering celebration will support the Open Hearts Ministry which is led by Erin Tracht. A love gift offering will be taken during the program. Checks should be made out to Liberty Church, PCA with Open Hearts Ministry on the memo line. The Old Sanctuary is closed this morning as it is set up for the Christmas Gathering reception later today. However, parents may still use the Care Room in the Old Sanctuary this morning. Small Groups The Owings Mills/Reisterstown Small Group is having their regular monthly meeting at the Deardens' home on Friday, December 14th, 7:30PM. We will have an Advent meditation. Please come join us for worship, study, prayer, and fellowship! Let Fiona know what you are bringing for a snack Lost and Found Please check the lost and found in the coat room off main church entrance for lost items. There are dishes, clothing on hangers, children's books, sunglasses and various other items. If not claimed in a couple weeks these things will be donated to charity. Thank you!

8 ATTENTION LIBERTY MEN: Teenaged, Young, Middle and AARP Aged You are invited this coming Saturday December 15 th from 7pm - 10pm for Liberty s monthly men s outreach to the Baltimore Rescue Mission. Transportation will be provided. This ministry allows Liberty's men to connect with each other and advance God s kingdom in a service of prayer, reading Scripture, singing hymns, and sharing short messages to the men at the mission. No one needs to speak unless he chooses so there s no pressure. If you'd like to participate, please contact Jeff Watkins at or jefferydeanwatkins@gmail.com. Christmas Giving for The Children's Home Again this year, Liberty has the opportunity to bless the teenagers at The Children's Home (TCH) in Catonsville. There are multiple programs in TCH, including a female adolescent diagnostic program where Liberty ladies are hosting a Bible study. Another highintensity program is called Transitions for adolescent males. Please join us in being matched with a teen and fulfilling a wish on their list this year. Mary Ellen Gannon will be at the back door for people to sign up. Youth Group Our Youth Directors are Phill and Kelly Thomas. Please contact them for more information at office@libertychurchpca.org Youth Group meets every Sunday evening at 6:30-8:30 in the Block House. The Youth White Elephant Christmas Party is Sunday Dec. 16th at the Cotes' 6:30-8:00 pm. Gifts should be in the range of $10-15 and should be something you might actually want. Please no gag gifts. We want this to be enjoyable for everyone. Inclement Weather Policy Inclement weather information: If we have to cancel Sunday worship due to the weather or power outage, we will send a message through /constant Contact and put a message on our answering machine to let you know. If you are not currently receiving Constant Contact s, please call the church office so we can add you to the list. Activities during the week are automatically cancelled or delayed if either Baltimore County or Carroll County Schools are closed or delayed for inclement weather. Our snow removal company requires that we do not have any vehicles in the parking lot on days when they need to remove snow.

10 FOCUS ON MISSIONS Paul & Stephanie Billings Campus Outreach This week s campus ministries focus is on Paul & Stephanie Billings work in Washington, DC with Campus Outreach. Campus Outreach, which started 40 years ago as a ministry of a local church in Birmingham, Alabama, is now a network of campus ministries, each under the authority of a local church. They are passionately reaching students with the gospel and training them to become mature followers of Christ. Their desire is to see students leave college equipped to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God. Liberty has supported Paul & Stephanie in their work in Washington for about ten years. They lead the Campus Outreach DC staff team out of Capitol Hill Baptist Church (CHBC). They have two little girls, Emma and Ainsley. Paul is also finishing his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and serves as an elder at CHBC. Paul and Stephanie, along with his staff of over ten folks, are reaching and supporting students in their walk with Jesus at Georgetown, George Washington, and American Universities (in the Washington, DC area). They engage with students with the Gospel, through events, small groups, and one on one. Over 150 students are involved in Bible studies. They led a retreat in September for the most committed students to learn about God s heart for world missions and personal disciple-making. Paul is presently working in fraternities, meeting with each pledge 1 on 1, at one chapter, to awaken them spiritually.

11 Please pray for their work: -For Paul as he meets with Conor, Jake, Matteo, Brad, and Jackson, who are looking for answers about the existence of God, what is right and wrong, and what will truly satisfy them in life. -For more opportunities and people to meet with fraternity brothers. -For Paul and Stephanie, staff, and student leaders, as God develops their leadership and parenting skills - particularly Paul s seminary training.
