5 PARISH NEWS Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED Do you know how to provide basic first aid to someone in need? How about saving someone's life with CPR and an AED? Join us on Saturday 20 May 2017 from 08:30-12:30 in the Green Room for this Emergency Care & Safety Institute course taught by Hunter Marks and Erin McGinley. The cost is $15 at the door for course materials and a 2-year certification. Bring a first aid kit, and if desired, something soft to kneel on (e.g. garden kneeling pad or knee pads). To register, Hunter at Hunter.Marks@alumni.LSU.edu with the first name, last name and address where you would like to receive your certificate. Registration closes Wednesday 17 May 2017, or once 15 people register. Feast of Ascension Thursday, May 25, we will celebrate one of the major feasts of the Christian Year the Feast of Ascension. Our brothers and sisters from Christ the King and Trinity REC will be here to join us in this great celebration. At 6:00 p.m. we will have a meal together before the Eucharist. Please put this on your calendar now to come together with our extended parish family in celebration. If you would like prayer for a specific need, please have a seat in the right front row for your turn with the Prayer Team. Prayer for the Sick O Lord, who feels the pain of the world, and looks upon all sick and suffering persons with pity and mercy, enfolding them with thy love; grant that in the midst of pain they may find thy presence; to doctors and nurses grant tender hearts and healing hands; and give health again in body and soul, for thy tender mercy s sake.
