1 CONNECT GROUPS: Listing & Descriptions Why should I be part of a CONNECT Group? The vision of Cross Points Church is to connect people Jesus. Connect groups is one of the primary ways we accomplish this vision. In Connect Groups, we follow Christ (CONNECT) together, as we do life with one another (COMMIT) and intentionally participate (CREATE) in His mission in our community. How do I join a CONNECT Group? For more information call the church office at CONNECT GROUPS Leaders: Shaun and Jan Arness Contact: Day & Time: 2nd & 4th Friday 7:00 p.m. Narrative: Connect Group: Focus is worship, prayer and fellowship Leaders: Spence and Kathie Clarke Location: Between Basehor and Tonganoxie Contact: (Spence s cell) Day & Time: Two (2) Thursday evenings each month Narrative: Connect Group: Open to all. We have a topical Bible study and discussion. Our group does not have any children. Our group is a great way to get together with people north of the Kansas River for fellowship and learning more about the Lord.

2 Leaders: Josiah and Bethany Enyart Location: Lenexa, KS Contact: Date and Time: Sundays, 5:00 pm Narrative: Connect Group: Our goal is to challenge young families to read the bible and pray together as a family in order to help integrate Jesus' love into our personal relationship with God and our relationships as parents, spouses, coworkers, and friends. Leaders: Phil and Mary Anne Green & Robin and Elaine Miller Location: Lenexa, KS Contact: Day & Time: 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Narrative: Connect Group : We have a discipleship type of format with open discussions on topics that are based on that Sunday's message, a Bible verse or personal issues. We have 3-5 couples on a regular basis. Leaders: Tom Hayes Location: Lenexa, KS Contact: (Tom s cell) Day & Time: Three (3) Friday nights each month at 7 p.m. Narrative: Connect Group: Primary focus is spiritual enrichment, fellowship and prayer (Prayer focus varies). Generally have a book or study we focus on, prayer afterwards. Presently serving couples whose children are older and do not require childcare. Not opposed to couples with children, but childcare would need to be arranged. Leaders: Mark and Jacqueline Kelker Contact: (H) (Mark s cell) Day & Time: Fridays, 7:00 pm Narrative: Connect Group: Bible or current book study/discussions Leaders: David and Helen Owens Location: Westwood, KS Contact: (David's cell) Day & Time: Every two weeks on Friday nights at 6:00 p.m. Narrative: Connect Group: Dinner, fellowship and prayer each time we gather Leaders: Jeff and Salina Rucker Contact: (Jeff's cell) Day & Time: Sundays at 3:00pm Narrative: Connect Group : Open to all ages. The group's primary focus is connecting to each other, and those around us, while building relationships that are committed to Jesus. We do this through verse and topical Bible studies as well as using selected books. We engage in community outreaches and meet at various times simply for fellowship.

3 Leaders: Bruce and Alvina Young Contact: Day & Time: Two Friday evenings each month at 7:00 p.m. (6:30 p.m. when Potluck) Narrative: Connect Group: We focus on praying for our unsaved family members, each other's needs, and encourage each other. Our group enjoys going into the Shawnee community and serving food at the Shawnee Community Center, sing Christmas carols & worship songs at Easter time. At this time there are no families with young children so we do not have a need for child care. Title: W.O.W. Group (Women on the Way) Leaders: Becky Hanna, ; Jennifer Heillman, Location: Leavenworth, KS Day & Time: 2nd Fridays, 6:45 p.m. (subject to change); additional social gatherings Narrative: Connect Group: For the purpose of encouraging ladies who are alone, single, divorced or widowed, with a special emphasis on new widows. Meetings include worship, prayer and sharing. We also have outings such as dinners out, movies, potlucks, as well as special projects. Ladies of any age are welcome to join us. Is. 61:3 He gives us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. So we will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified. BIBLE STUDY / DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS Leader: Keith Brooks Location: Cross Points Church Room 236 Contact: Narrative: Bible Study Group: Open to anyone. Group does verse by verse Bible study followed by discussion. Leader: Mark Martinez Location: Maranatha High School Room 228 Contact: Narrative: Men s Study Group: Open to men of all ages. Come study, fellowship and grow with other men of CPC as we strive to become the man God has called us to be as well as the man our family needs us to be. Leader: Spencer and Kathie Clarke Location: Cross Points Church Conference Room Contact: (Spence s cell) Narrative: Bible Study Group: We start with music and worship, then have a topical Bible study. We look up Scripture and discuss what we are studying. We like to share ideas and like to laugh. We care about each other and pray for needs within our group.

4 Leader: Don Lewis Location: Cross Points Church Fireside Lounge Day & Time: Thursdays, Fireside Lounge, 6:30 a.m. Narrative: Men s Discipleship and Prayer Group : Open to men of all ages. MISSION NETWORKS / PRAYER GROUPS Leaders: Pam Smith Location: Cross Points Church Conference Room Contact: psmith2894@sbcglobal.net Day & Time: The first Sunday of the month after church service Narrative: Mission Network Meeting - AfricaNet provides a prayer covering for our missionaries in Africa, America and Australia. We support short term missions to our covered areas. Through we keep in touch with our missionaries and AfricaNet members so urgent prayer requests can be addressed between our meetings. Leaders: Linda Smith Location: Cross Points Church Prayer Room Contact: Day & Time: 3 rd Monday of each month Narrative: Healing Team : We pray for healings both before church on Sunday and after. We welcome others who believe in healing and want to serve the Lord in this way. Leaders: Wolfgang and Betty Jo Simon Location: Overland Park, KS Contact: Wolfgang ( Wbsimon@earthlink.net ) Betty (Betty@BettyJoSimon.com) Day & Time: First Monday each month which has four Mondays - 2nd Monday in those months with five Mondays. 7-9:00 p.m. Narrative: Mission Network Meeting (AsiaNet / EuroNet) gathers together to praise and worship and hear the latest news from our missionaries in Asia and Europe. They share with us praise reports and prayer requests, for which we intercede. It's a great opportunity to hear how God is partnering with these very special families. Leaders: Pam Rosenberger Contact: Day & Time: Every Wednesday, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Narrative: Women s Prayer: We are a prayer and share home group that is open for new women to attend. We share about our lives and prayer needs, share Scripture, and pray for each other.

5 Leaders: Cindy Eaton & Alvina Young Location: Cross Points Church Contact: Day & Time: Every Wednesday, CPC Office Volunteer Room, 6-8:00 p.m. Narrative: Mother s Intercession Group : We are a group of women who are interceding on behalf of our children and grandchildren. In a time when the enemy is fighting harder than ever we are seeing the need to cry out to the Lord on behalf of this next generation is also greater than ever. We have also recognized that the Lord is doing a work in us as parents and wives as well, as long as we open our hearts to His promptings. We welcome those women who would like to pray on behalf of their young, teen or adult children. Leader: Seagayl Henderson Location: Cross Points Church Day & Time: 1st & 3rd Wednesday, CPC Prayer Room, 1:00 p.m. Narrative: Trafficking Prayer Group: Join us in praying to end Human Trafficking. We pray for local, national & international issues as well as ministries informed of the needs.
