Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don t try to get them back. Do to others as you would like them to do to you. If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return. Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 6 Church Announcements The PIBC Sunday School will present a Gospel Bowl Worship Service Program on today at 3 p.m. The theme will be: A Soldier In God s Army Preparing For Service: 2 Timothy 2:15, study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. There will be a Bible Trivia Competition between Peoples and Curry Temple Churches. Sis. Sherry Howson from Greater New Bethel Church will present Special Emphasis on our theme. All are invited to share with us. You will be blessed. Refreshments will be served following the program. Pastor Davenport would like to meet with ALL Deacons and Deaconess August 28 at 6 p.m. in the PIBC Conference Room. ALL Choir members are requested to provide music for the Judge Haley Memorial on Thursday, August 30 at 11 a.m. Sis. Carolyn Barnett will be the musician. Pastor Davenport will be bringing the Message at Rose Hill Baptist Church Sunday, September 23rd at 3 p.m. for their Founders Day Program. He is requesting the Choir to accompany him on that day. Also, Pastor is asking all who can and will to come and help a brother out while we all render praise to God and represent PIBC. Special thanks to all who participated in the Community Fish Fry & Fellowship. It would not have been as great as it was without all of you. Thanks to Sis. Friendship for making the potato salad, Deacon Elmore for the sausages, Sis. Russell for the BBQ and all of you that signed up to bring various items. Thanks to those of you that assisted with getting the areas set up and for the cleaning afterwards. Thanks to the ministries for the monetary donations. Thanks to my daughter Sherita, sister in law Melba, and best friend Althea for helping to orchestrate the entire event. A special thanks to Deacon Rudd for providing the fryers and another thank you to Deacon Rudd, Deacon Friendship and our nephew Michael Smith for due diligence with getting them fired up. the persistence truly paid off. We met and shared information with our neighbors and the fellowship was truly remarkable. Now that the foundation is built, we are ready to go higher. Can t wait until next year! A Time To Laugh For everything there is a season,...a time to laugh Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4 (NLT) A man was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane stopped in Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in 50 minutes. Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. The man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his seeing eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight. He could also tell he had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name, said, "Bill, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?" The blind man replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs." Picture this: All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a seeing eye dog. The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines! Remember... things aren't always as they appear. TEACHER: Tommy, why do you always get so dirty? TOMMY: Well, I'm a lot closer to the ground then you are. TEACHER: Why are you late? WEBSTER: Because of the sign. TEACHER: What sign? WEBSTER: The one that says, "School Ahead, Go Slow." TEACHER: In this box, I have a 10-foot snake. SAMMY: You can't fool me, Teacher...snakes don't have feet. TEACHER: How can you prevent diseases caused by biting insects? JOSE: Don't bite any. MOTHER: Why on earth did you swallow the money I gave you? JUNIOR: You said it was my lunch money. TEACHER: If I had seven oranges in one hand and eight oranges in the other, what would I have? Student: Big hands!
