1 For His Glory E-News August RIVER OF BLESSING MOBILE BIBLE COLLEGE ON THE MOVE! The curtains of the tent at River of Blessing Bible College have been extended once again! Over the years since their chartering with FHGM&BC in 2005, we have seen the number of RBBC graduates extend throughout Zambia and even into some neighboring nations. The vision continues in the heart of Dr. Angel Chisefu, founder and college president, to reach into the highways and byways of his nation and other nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the teaching of God s Word. Therefore, when invited to bring River of Blessing Bible College to the Eastern Province as a Mobile Bible College, he was eager to begin yet another journey to further God s Kingdom! From June 30th to July 5 th 2018, thirty-nine pastors and leaders met in Katete, Zambia, for the first intensive training sessions of the RBBC Mobile Bible College. Below are the words of Dr. Chisefu himself: I am grateful unto the Lord for all that He has done. I just came back from Eastern Province where we conducted Bible School from 30 th June to 5 th July It was so wonderful. We had Pastors and other church leaders from three towns from different denominations. We did 3 courses on an intensive basis: Let s Weigh the Evidence, God s Holy Word and Thoroughly Furnished. We then left them with assignments to complete and submit. The time periods were from 09:00hrs till 18:00hrs and sometimes even beyond that. It was a crucial one. Only lunch break was stopping us, and it was just one hour. We drove from Lusaka to that place which is about 565 kilometres, which is about 5-6 hour drive. We reached the place safely and joyfully! One good thing is that many of the students are from different fields: Some are Police Officers, Teachers, Farmers, as well as many pastors are fulltime pastors. I want to say thank you for your support, prayers and words of encouragement Know that you are in time with the Lord concerning RBBC. You are yet to hear more of what the Lord is doing because of the support and godly counsel you render to us. Dr A. K. Chisefu (chisefuangel@gmail.com) This mobile Bible school should continue coming to us until we are fully equipped with the Word of God and possibly be partners with these mother bodies like Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia so that we reason together and understand the real Word of God. by Pastor Nicholas Banda, student
2 COMMENCEMENT and CELEBRATION AT FOR HIS GLORY BIBLE COLLEGE New Berlin, Wisconsin Excitement was in the air on June 15, 2018, when the graduates and FHG Board Directors gathered to put on their caps and gowns before the graduation march began! Many years of diligent study and obstacles to overcome finally culminated in joyful celebration and victories won for the glory of God! As they marched past family, friends, and faculty, they could sense the Spirit of God in their midst and the encouragement of those who had instructed and mentored them along the way. Officiating at the ceremony were Dr. Kathy Bojanowski (President/Founder) and Dr. Beth Laurent (Past President, pictured right). Messages were given by Class of 2018 Representative, Rev. Theresa Konkel, M.Div., who spoke on the Class Scripture (Is. 54:10, 17) and her fellow graduate, Dr. Diana Mesa Horaitis, D.B.C., shared a message on Ephesians 4:12, the College Scripture. Very special to each graduate were the words directly spoken to them from the heart of Dr. Beth who had been their president, instructor, and encourager through their years of study at FHG Bible College. As academic hoods and awards were presented, and degree certificates conferred, the graduates were honored for their accomplishments. We praise God also for the evidence of the Holy Spirit working in their lives and ministries during their years of biblical study! What He has called them to do, He has also equipped them to do, amen! It was such a blessing to also confer degrees in absentia to six incarcerated graduates! Behind their degrees are years of study and much time spent before the Lord allowing Him to work His Word deep into their hearts. Their excellence in study resulted in academic awards of summa cum laude or magna cum laude for five of them. The testimony of Troy, who earned his B. Div. Degree, magna cum laude, could represent, in part, the sentiments of many of these men: God called and gave me a vision of missionary work helping those in need. And then, to my great admiration, God provided me with a school and instructors who bore the same heart of ministry. All glory be to God for such fine and caring instructors whose love has been enduring and will last forever. On the other side of the world in Abuja, Nigeria, Pastor Frank Ordu, President of Better Life Bible College, was praising God for the joy of this day! He earned both a B.Div. Degree and M.Div. Degree, magna cum laude. His words (left) shared at commencement resounded in our hearts with a hearty amen! Glory to God! The longexpected day has come. May the glory of Yahweh fill the house as it was in the dedication of Solomon s Temple and the erecting of Moses Wilderness Tabernacle, in Jesus name, amen! Pastor Frank Ordu With much rejoicing, we congratulate each graduate: Elza Haley, M. Min. magna cum laude; Diane Hammann, M. Div. summa cum laude; Theresa Konkel, M. Div., summa cum laude; Diana Mesa-Horaitis, D. Biblical Counseling, magna cum laude; Frank E. Ordu, B. Div./M.Div.,magna cum laude; Jacqueline Salava, B.Div., magna cum laude; plus six incarcerated graduates whose biblical studies are commendable and their achievements honored! For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy upon thee. Isaiah 54:10
3 COME TO THE WATERS Once again during the months of July and August, a group of women from For His Glory Bible Fellowship are gathering by the intracoastal waterway at Sunset Beach, NC, for a time of resting in the presence of the Lord. Sweet strains of Christian songs can be heard as they quietly worship and settle their hearts to hear what God would say to them that morning. It s different each week, for the women are encouraged to share reports of praise from their lives, scriptures that hold special meaning to them, or personal concerns. How amazing it is to sense the Spirit of God at work touching hearts and lives through the ministry of each woman. Whosoever will may come, so feel free to bring a chair and join them under the trees from 8-9 a.m. at Sunset Beach Park every Tuesday in August! CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. TOBIAS WAKHUNGU! Dr. Tobias Wakhungu is President and Founder of The Word of Truth Bible College and Bishop over four churches under Dispensation of Grace Ministries in the Webuye area of Kenya. Recently, he has been appointed National Program Director at Churches Unite Kenya. While hosting a visit from Rev. Brendon Naicker, Program Director at Churches Unite in the UK, the first forum of Churches Unite Kenya was held at Word of Truth Bible College (pictured below). It is apparent that much travel is in the future for Dr. Wakhungu! May the Lord give him level paths for his feet, wisdom, favor and safety as he goes in Jesus name. 4 by Dr. Kathy Bojanowski with testimony from Pastor Frank Ordu Although this testimony was sent to me on October 21, 2017, it is timeless in its message to us as teachers and students of God s Word. There is no doubt that His Word is alive and active and will accomplish all that God sends it forth to do, even when you least expect it. Furthermore, when we read God s Word, if we are attentive, we may hear His voice speaking to us words that will help us understand, or, as in this case, words that may ask us a simple question. We must consider if we take those moments seriously. Do we take time to prayerfully think upon the words or question spoken to our hearts? Imagine the lifegiving banquet that God places before us every day in His Word and the life-giving words that He speaks to our hearts if we would but hearken to His voice. I find it interesting that one of the meanings of the word hearken is to listen with the intent of obeying (Strong s #8085 shama). So, read on to see what happened when Pastor Frank Ordu, President and Founder of Better Life Bible College in Abuja, Nigeria, hearkened to the voice of God! You never know the fulness of all that God wants to do in and through you as you are attentive and obedient to His voice. Oh, the lives that could be touched I have this testimony to share with you. It is about our classes today. The testimony is this: God used the book of Ruth to ignite a fire in the students. While preparing the teaching outline for the week, the Lord asked me to study the journey of Ruth all through her life. I discovered she moved from Moab to Bethlehem, from Bethlehem to the field of Boaz; next, to the threshing floor, which led to redemption and covenant at the gate. Then the Lord asked me what I thought was the significance of Ruth going into Boaz field. He told me that she went to harvest. At this point, I caught a message! It took Ruth faith and courage to go out in search of a harvest field. When she did, she stumbled into Boaz field, and it was in that field she met her Redeemer. Had she not stepped out by faith, she would have missed her destiny helper. The Lord then told me that it takes faith and courage to go into the harvest field. When you do, you will meet your Boaz, one who will help your destiny. This message sank into my heart. I kept meditating on the message Today I shared that message as a minor part during the interaction section with the students. When I did, the students caught the revelation and started screaming and jumping in the class. Some confirmed the message with life experiences of the favor they had received as a result of their faithfulness to harvesting souls for the Lord. But somewhere along the line, things happened, and they got discouraged. But with this teaching, now the fire is back, and they are launching out again with full force. Glory and praise to God! frankorduconsult@gmail.com
5 For His Glory Bible Fellowship, Shallotte, NC The study of the book of ACTS left a lasting impression in hearts and impacted the lives of the women at FHGBF. Through it, they were challenged to be bolder in their witness for Christ and to stand strong with hearts set for the defense of the Gospel. On June 19 th, Pastor John Appiah, General Overseer of Faith Outreach Ministries in Ghana, further challenged them as he declared God s faithfulness in the midst of trials endured for the sake of the Gospel. What a blessing to have him speak such a powerful word of truth! Dr. Kathy Bojanowski directs FHGBF in addition to her responsibilities as President of FHGM&BC. Beginning on Sept. 11 th, she will be teaching a new study on the Post-Exilic Prophets Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. A timely message for us today since these prophets were called to confront the Jewish remnant who had returned from Babylonian captivity to come out of complacency, UPCOMING EVENTS August 21 & 28 Sister Circle at Sunset Beach Park, 8-9 a.m. Sept. 8 WOTBC classes begin, Webuye, Kenya Sept. 11 FHG Bible Fellowship NC begins: Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi Sept.13 BLBC Commencement, 2-4 p.m pre-service; 4 p.m. Commencement, Abuja, Nigeria Oct. 16 Missionary Karen Farrand speaking at FHGBF, Shallotte, NC Oct. 27 WOTBC Commencement, Webuye, Kenya consider their ways, and to rebuild the Temple that was still in ruins!
