1 Nkatini e Nkai (God s Story) Vol. 7; Issue 3 25 August 2013 (If you prefer not to receive our prayer letters, then please advise us) You are invited to join our new ministry Facebook page: Ecc 3:1 There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven: Their Turn Some of you have received notification from Africa Inland Mission that we will not return to the mission field. It is more correct to say that we will not return full time to the mission field. As abrupt as this appears, we have been planning to return to the United States for over one year. It is a natural transition for us for some very good reasons: Robert graduated from RVA on 13 July 13. He began classes at Emporia State University in Kansas just this past week. He will major in Social Studies for Secondary Education. Joseph has started his senior year at Flint Hills Christian School in Manhattan, KS. Susan and I are pursuing medical evaluations for issues that have plagued us for several months. We do intend to continue with our ministry in Samburu, but on a short-term basis. We hope to return to Maralal on or about October The ministry is now in the hands of our young men who we have been training over the past 5 ½ years. I will be more specific: The pastoral ministry at Lare-Oibor and Lelendu is now in the hands of our brothers Timothy, Francis, and Samuel. These men graduated from the Samburu Bible Training Centre, and they are very well equipped to lead

2 these churches. The borehole project is complete and running smoothly day in and day out. The church and community are now responsible for whatever maintenance might be required in the future. Lawrence Lesas is the chairman of the AIC Lare-Oibor Compassion program. He replaces Timothy who cannot be lead pastor and chairman of the Compassion program. Almost 300 children are now sponsored in the program The Samburu Bible Training Centre continues classes in Maralal (2 classes) and Archers Post. Barikiwa Lekeren and Nicholas Lekorere continue their teaching, and Lawrence handles the administration of the school. The task of evangelism and discipleship among unreached Samburu Lororas is underway, and Lawrence is in charge of this work. Lawrence and Barikiwa recently showed the Samburu Jesus Film at a new Lorora named Nalepo. We prayed for acceptance and the people responded enthusiastically by viewing the film twice. The discipleship of this community has begun using the solar mp3 players and Bible story pictures.

Susan and I will support this ministry as long as God provides the means to do so. Our sending church has commissioned Lawrence to do this work, and another Kansas church is on board as well. Where does this leave you? We will continue to communicate with you as new Lororas are reached for Christ, and there are a large but unknown number of these communities that have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will also maintain our Facebook page entitled Samburus for Yesu ( ). This is a forum for all believers who desire to follow the discipleship of the Samburu people.

5 We now have an unusual request: We ask that you no longer support us financially. On September 1, 2013, Susan and I will be considered inactive with Africa Inland Mission. If you send financial support for us to AIM on or after September 1 st, then they will return that money to you. For now we do not have any way for you to receive a tax exempt receipt for your financial gifts. In the future, we may establish a not for profit organization, but we are not there yet. Finally, we thank all of you who have taken this spiritual journey with us since 2003 as we prepared to go out to the field until now. God has opened so many doors for us to serve the Samburu, He has been faithful to this ministry, and He continues to walk with us and our Samburu brothers and sisters.
