ACAL Newsletter May 2016 Dear ACAL Members and Friends, elcome to the first edition of our NEW Australian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders Newsletter! We Wlive in an information age where you expect to be kept up to date on developments of interest to apostolic leaders. Our purpose in ACAL is to raise, encourage and empower apostolic leaders across Australia. These men and women have caught the vision of Apostolic Reformation: to return God s people to the priorities and practices of Jesus and the Apostles. In the past six months, I have personally met with our ACAL Regional Leadership Groups in all six states and the ACT. To do this, in addition to my church and network responsibilities, was challenging but gratifying. My mission had three purposes: to get a feel for each group getting to know our members and friends, to introduce ACAL to prospective members, and encourage our State Convenors who are leading the groups. For your information, our ACAL National Council is comprised of convenors of the seven groups. My candid observation: we have our work cut out for us. I saw some amazing hotspots of creativity, strategic planning and support of apostolic leaders. Apostolic Reformation is making significant inroads across Australia. However, in some places apostolic leaders feel isolated and lack support and skills. This reinforces the need to recognise, instruct and link people called to apostolic leadership. We would also like to see more interaction and support between church and marketplace leaders. Our goal in ACAL is simple: connect apostolic leaders with wisdom and resources so each member can be more effective in their sphere of influence. To do this requires a team effort. We need seasoned apostolic leaders who are willing to build into emerging leaders outside of their normal networks. Also, in early March, 40 Australian leaders met on the Gold Coast at our first extended two and a half day ACAL Annual Summit. The summit was a great success and we learned some lessons that will help us fine-tune for next year. Look out for the registration forms for our next summit in Launceston, 7 10 March, Please pray as the ACAL National Council meets on 9 June in Sydney. I urge you to keep abreast of ACAL Developments by noting: John & Alaine McElroy Our new ACAL website can be found at We are on Facebook at Australian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders Regular articles and updates are available on the ICAL website We believe this newsletter will grow and mature with time. We value submissions and feedback from our members. Please keep in touch and remember you are in our fervent prayers. Love in Christ, John McElroy ACAL Convenor N

Western Australia e had our inaugural meeting in February with seventeen people attending. John McElroy, the WAustralian Convenor presented the Coalition s purpose including the brochure and extended the invitation to join. Paul Botha unpacked some apostolic strategies that he had gone through with his church and how these are impacting not only the church but society at large. During the discussion time I Natanael Costea WA REGIONAL LEADER had the opportunity to highlight how the Australian School of Ministry fits into the Kingdom equipping and then we discussed the way forward. We are extending our invitation to both church and marketplace leaders with an apostolic heart to join the coalition and we plan to have another More info at state meeting in the coming months. ACT FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK / australiancoalitionofapostolicleaders New South Wales he New South Wales regional ACAL members have been growing in relationship and encouragement Tmeeting regularly with one another, stirring one another towards pursuing this current move of God within our personal lives, our marriages, families, churches and businesses. We are seeing a fresh openness amongst ministers with regards to the apostolic message. David Belestri NSW REGIONAL LEADER We are certainly in a new day of expression and advance for the apostolic message in this nation. Much work is still to be done and yet we are believing God to draw to us with Cornelius connections throughout this state for the acceleration of this move. ince the ACAL conference and local meeting in February/ March life has been busy here. A SHomecoming team representing five nations held a three day meeting here in the ACT. The meeting provided a chance to hear amazing stories of transformation in China in recent years. Key underlying values such as the need for the church to be a family rather than an organisation, the need for fathers and sons, mothers and daughters as per Malachi 4:5-6 were also articulated. Related meetings were also held in Adelaide and Perth. Next month the ACT will be hosting a team from the UK led by Roger Sutton in conjunction with One Heart. The focus will be on city transformation. Jamie Prior ACT REGIONAL LEADER 2

Victoria Peter Kentley VIC REGIONAL LEADER A Here s leaders in ACAL we need to multiply our collaborative capacity to help the church understand and overcome the magnitude of the very serious forces that are hell-bent on destroying family, children and the church across our nation. is an update. Please take time to research the links: Marriage and the Election With the announcement of a Federal Election on 2 July, the church needs to be fully awake to the absolute reality that only a Coalition victory can provide any hope of retaining the existing marriage law as between a man and a woman entered into voluntarily for life. If Labor are elected they will implement same sex marriage (SSM) within 100 days. If the Coalition are re-elected they will implement a plebiscite to determine the will of the nation on this issue. The family as God designed it is core bedrock for a safe and healthy society. We must stand up and fight for this priority through the federal election and any ensuing plebiscite to retain marriage as is NO CHANGE to the existing marriage act! There already are three relationship types under Australian law: 1. Defacto relationships for unmarried heterosexual couples 2. Same Sex unions for homosexual couples 3. Marriage for one man and one woman. It is a lie to say there is discrimination in Australia against homosexual couples. These three legislated relationship types already cover everyone fairly. Approximately two and a half per cent of the population are homosexual. Of these less than half are SSM activists. So it is unjust and harmful to change the marriage law to favour around one per cent of the population and thereby damage 99 per cent. Parliament House, Canberra Marxist Sexualisation of Australian Children The announcement by the Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham that the federal funding for the Safe Schools Programme will not be continued and that substantial amendments need to be made to the program vindicates grave concerns expressed by parents, MPs and concerned organisations about the content and intentions of Safe Schools Coalition Australia (SSCA). Thankfully, several journalists and commentators have come out against the ideology and subversive politics behind Safe Schools. It is absolutely vital to be well informed on these issues. Please research the following articles from The Australian: children-sexualised-inschool-diversity-programs year-8-kids-to-study-sex-adsunder-domestic-violencecurriculum HOWEVER, only state premiers and education ministers can decide to ban the program in schools within their state. We need to lobby these MPs for the protection of our society. Even if the suggested changes were implemented (which they are not) the program would still contain links to Minus18 and Twenty10 (these sites link students to highly inappropriate content). Students would still be encouraged to cross dress, use opposite sex toilets and change rooms and there is no realistic opportunities for parents to seek exemptions. At this stage Safe Schools is rolling out in every state/territory WITH NO CHANGES. We must pray and demand that state governments suspend the program until a comprehensive parliamentary inquiry into SSCA materials has taken place. Please view the following video that explains the UN based Planned Parenthood global war on children through the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Agenda that is being implemented in Australia as evidenced above: Please pray and communicate how ACAL can rise up in its fivefold leadership across our nation. 3

Tasmania Trish Stuart-Smith TAS REGIONAL LEADER CAL in Tasmania has had two gatherings to date. The first was in November 2015 with a Agood deal of fellowship, enthusiasm and vision. The second meeting was in Tunbridge in February with the National Director, Dr John McElroy, leading and encouraging the group. Tunbridge was an original halfway stopping place for travellers between Launceston and Hobart and works well for a state-wide gathering. This was a wonderfully encouraging meeting and many opportunities were offered for members of the group to ask questions as John skilfully shared about the new apostolic revolution and shared resources with those attending. Further meetings are planned for late May. One will be in Hobart and the other in Launceston. A combined State-wide gathering is planned for early August in Tunbridge. When individual flames are combined they make a fire. I see for ACAL Tasmania, that when apostolic leaders, who are passionate for Jesus and the advance of his kingdom, gather in trusting covenantal relationship, seeking his face and his plan, then we can be part of a spiritual, holy fire burning in Tasmania. At our first gathering one of the apostles had a picture of a giant reservoir that was beyond what we could imagine and in the body of water great power was present in that place of rest and being. In any body ACAL NATIONAL SUMMIT 7-10 March 2017 Country Club, Launceston, Tasmania More details to come on of water no individual drop of water is distinguished from any other - they are part of the whole body of water. This picture is a reminder that all together, as Christians who carry the Holy Spirit of God, there is great power when the unity is such that we are truly one body with one Spirit - in essence the family of God. Trish is the Tasmanian Convener for ACAL currently meeting with, and gathering, apostolic leaders in Tasmania in the church and in the market place. Trish was ordained in the Anglican Church in She has pastored three churches in the Anglican Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. One was in Western NSW and two were in Canberra. She is married to Peter and has three adult children. Trish has a heart for the Kingdom of God to advance and Jesus love to be known by all. As well as her pastoral duties, Trish has been involved in community prayer, city wide networks, gatherings and events that focused on unity between the different churches and a desire for revival in our nation s capital and Australia. In the Anglican Church, Trish has been involved in outreach to communities in Canberra and rural Australia and at times organising the prayer that undergirds each outreach. Trish has a particular passion for prayer, ministering to the Lord, and for the whole church to be worshipping in Spirit and in truth. Trish and Peter felt called to Tasmania and moved to Hobart in She is now executive director of The International Anglican Order of the Cross (TIAOC). TIAOC was established in 2014 to encourage and network Christians of all denominations in being a kingdom and priests unto God and to help the church to prepare as the bride, seeking holiness and righteousness and with eyes only for Christ its Bridegroom. 5 South Australia Mark Mudri SA REGIONAL LEADER ince we met on the Gold Coast in March, these are some of the noteworthy things happening and Spending in Adelaide. 40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR LIFE FEB-MARCH Another prayer campaign was successfully undertaken in front of the abortion mill in Adelaide. While the charge has been led by our precious Catholic brothers and sisters, several Protestant prayer warriors have been joining in these highly effective prayer vigils. The Kingdom Facilitation Centre (KFC) has strongly supported the initiative in prayer. VISIT FROM BISHOP RICHARD LUTWAMA FROM KAMPALA, UGANDA MID-MARCH TO DATE Richard is an amazing bishop overseeing over a hundred churches around the world and he shares a powerful testimony of how the Lord delivered him in the midst of a bank robbery. He has published several books and I have endorsed one of them called The Prophetic Church. VISIT FROM BISHOP DAVID SSENFUMA APRIL 1 TO DATE David hosted me in Kampala, Uganda last August where about 50 senior leaders from around the nation gathered together. David s church encompasses medical rooms, training for young IT entrepreneurs, microfinance and macro-finance, and other cutting edge strategies. One of their initiatives is to help churches buy their own property so that usually Muslim landlords stop hiking up the rent and trying to kick them out. VISIT BY HOMECOMING LEADERS, PRIVATE LUNCH AND TOWN HALL MEETINGS 7 APRIL 2016 Over 600 people from many churches, denominations and cultures joined us in the Town Hall. We were led by a Korean choir, an African choir, and an Asian worship team. The Chinese leaders gave testimony of how the Lord is beginning to change China as a result of the five leaders of the Chinese Underground Church (representing something like 50 million people) repenting and beginning to work as one. Tangible outcomes such as change to a 2 child policy, fighting corruption, and the building of roads into the Middle East have occurred since the leaders began pastoring the nation and not only their own congregations. The evening culminated in Communion. VISIT FROM MATTHEW SIBY INTERNATIONAL ENTREPRENEUR FROM INDIA 21 APRIL A powerful young entrepreneur from India visited us. He is looking to establish his operations in Australia relating to Kingdom enterprises flowing from coconut related products. 24 APRIL 2016 We were privileged to be special guests at the ordination of an apostle and three pastors of an SA continued > 5

African church which is only five years old. It started with about 15 people and now has over 150 people, with several graduating from university. IT training is provided, and the pastoral office consists of half a shipping container. I have rarely seen such contented and godly leaders. The Deputy Mayor and the Federal Member were also in attendance and were greatly moved by the five hour or so service. UPCOMING VISITS * April: Dr Darrell Furgason and Dr John Stewart World leading authorities on the Christian Worldview. They will be discussing the issue of Islam and Political Correctness and forging plans for the birthing of a Christian University of Law, Government and Politics in Australia. * 4 6 May: Alan Platt Co-convener with Timothy Keller in the New York Transformation of Cities Day to be held in October. A number of leaders meetings have been convened around his visit. * 5 8 May: Roger Sutton and David King. These are senior UK international transformational leaders and Roger was chaplain for Manchester United for 5 years. God-incidentally, Roger is good friends with Alan Platt and we are working with a number of churches and leaders to maximise the impact of their brief visit in Adelaide. * August: Ken Fish will be doing seminars here. * September: Bishop of Baghdad, Andrew Cannon is likely to be here. * 9 10 September: Reverend Dr Margaret Court will also be visiting. AUSTRALIAN CHRISTIAN LEGAL CONFERENCE: 29 SEPTEMBER TO 1 OCTOBER This will be probably the most significant gathering of Christian legal professionals in the history of the Southern Hemisphere. It is only the third Australasian Christian Legal Conference and the first one in 14 years. We have been able to secure the event to be joined by Advocates Asia and the Global Leadership of Advocates International (which represents something like 30,000 legal professionals in 150 nations). Some of the most senior Christian lawyers in the world will be coming to Australia for the first time. In addition, approximately 15 professors of law will join us to birth a Christian University of Law, Government and Politics in Australia. This will have the potential to raise up leaders, not only for Australia, but the surrounding nations which have KFC The Kingdom Facilitation Centre (KFC) and Thursday night prayer meetings continue to attract international visitors who not only come to minister, but to be refreshed and encouraged prophetically and pastorally. This is a brief report of some of the things that are happening in Adelaide around this time. So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers... Ephesians 4:11 6

Queensland Len Rossow QLD REGIONAL LEADER t this early stage in our development our Queensland team is wrestling with attempting to clarify Aour path forward particularly in attempting to clarify more specifically the aims of ACAL in relation to the regional gatherings. In considering this I note John McElroy s guideline: The purpose of Regional Groups is to gather ACAL church and marketplace leaders to form relationships and implement strategies that build a wall of righteousness to protect the land (Ezekiel 22:30). When I look at the Queensland contingent who attended the ACAL Summit, I am greatly encouraged by what I see Ian Shelton has a passion to see cities transformed and has a powerful story of the highs and lows of how this has played out in Toowoomba and carries a wealth of experience to share with other city pastors groups across Qld and beyond. Ian carries a mandate from the Holy Spirt to proclaim to cities. Prepare... The King is coming to towns and cities. David Hood has a wealth of experience of walking with John Alley in pioneering teaching and encouragement of apostolic life, particularly with respect to Fathering and Sonship and a deep understanding of apostolic grace and authority. Peace Apostolic has a mandate from the Holy Spirit to bring an apostolic message to the nation. Rudi Bam carries a prophetic mantle. Chris Petersen comes to the table Pictured: ACAL Summit 2016, Gold Coast QLD with a wealth of experience in church planting and apostolic authority. Tom Lew has a wealth of experience in business and facilitation. Wez Hone has a vital role to play in enabling Christian business people to catch Kingdom vision and to fund an area assigned to them by the Father. Sue Baynes has a passion in the area of government and will be number two on the Senate ticket for Family First. This is just a beginning point of stepping into the arena of politics after pastoring for a number of years. Sue has built a strong relationship with our Gold Coast Mayor and has enabled an open door for pastors of the city here. Brad Otto was registered but was unable to attend. He has a marvellous Father heart. He is one of the Fathers in our city and in the apostolic denomination across Queensland and the nation. He brings much wisdom to the table. Phil Spence was unable to attend but carries a wealth of experience in ministry overseas. For myself, I have a passion to see our city transformed and long to see the prophetic and intercession in the city raised up in strength and maturity and in good relationship with the pastors. The Gold Coast hosts the Commonwealth Games in 2018, giving the church of the city a unique opportunity to develop QLD continued > 7

QLD continued > closer working relationships in community engagement and outreach. I am to facilitate the prayer initiative for the games. At the recent ACAL Summit, John McElroy in presenting the discipling tool spoke of Kairos moments... I d like to share a few of my Kairos moments from the Summit and my reflection on them. 1 Chris Petersen alerted us to the danger of ACAL becoming yet another pastoral gathering... relationship is vital but ACAL needs to have an apostolic mission or strategy that is being implemented. My sense is that Chris is right on the money. We need an apostolic mission or strategy that goes beyond discipleship though discipleship in the sense of Fathering (Malachi 4:5-6) will be foundational. 2 The prophetic word on the Thursday had to do with disruption and a dying to the old way. I am left questioning what is it that I need to die to and what does disruption look like when we consider ACAL, or even is there an aspect that ACAL needs to lay down? From the prophetic word my sense is that we are being challenged to think differently... in a fresh way... perhaps even outside the booklet if you will. 3 There was a word for the church in Australia to do with a rollercoaster ride in the next season. 4 There was an ignition in the spirit when Wez Hone shared his heart with us. My sense is there is something powerful in the sharing of heart from champions across the domains / mountains / spheres. Wez ignites my vision and hope for kingdom impact in our city and in the nation. My faith is stirred... I can see the city with foundations whose architect and builder is God. I am passionate to see the church of the city not only come together but to implement strategic action that will announce and demonstrate the presence of the Kingdom. 5 In a meeting of the Queensland representatives, Ian Shelton brought to the table the suggestion of going to different cities and meeting with pastors groups to listen and to encourage... to pray and prophesy with them. We are considering how we might approach this for Kingdom outcomes. ACAL T-shirts We are currently looking to order some black polo shirts with the ACAL logo (on the left breast) and ICAL logo (on right sleeve) on them. If you would like to purchase and order one or more, please phone Corinne at the ACAL office or us with your shirt size/number required.
