Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music and dancing. This is called the moving of the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan for he is making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truths for this time. It is better never to have the worship of God blended with musical instruments in this manner. The truth needs nothing of this kind. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts the soul. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise to have a carnival, and this is termed the working of the Holy Spirit. Prophecy tells us that the beast is gathering together an army to wage war against the truth, against God and against His people. Pope Francis invited people to a great gathering called Together This historic ecumenical gathering took place on July 16, 2016 in Washington, D.C. and brought Catholics and Evangelicals together on the path to unity.1 The ecumenical event featured Pope Francis [through live video feed], Southern Baptist Convention President Ronnie Floyd, President Barak Obama [through a letter], Dr. Tony Evans, Tim Tebow, Nick Hall, Ravi Zacharias, Kirk Franklin, Lou Engle, Vatican envoy Matteo Calisi besides other Christian celebrities and musicians. The picture at the top right was the theme of the entire event: It s Time for the Church to Unite Together Babylon s Ambassadors Nick Hall was the organizer of the Together 2016 event. He is also the founder of Pulse, a Charismatic evangelical organization. He s an advisor for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and a member of the leadership of And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him [Rome], whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8. 2 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven Matthew 7:21. the Lausanne Movement, an organization that unites Evangelicals for evangelism. 2 Before the July 16, 2016 meeting that was designed to gather one million Christians in Washington, D.C., Nick Hall traveled to the Vatican seeking Pope Francis blessing and endorsement. Not only did Pope Francis endorse the Together 2016 rally, the pontiff also prepared a video that went viral through social media inviting people throughout the world to attend this great ecumenical gathering. 3 Pope Francis also sent an envoy to be his representative, Matteo Calisi, to speak during the rally. Calisi had been the Pope s representative for the April 9 Los Angeles rally as well. Pope Francis is working to unite all Christians together into one body. This is being done which will fulfill Rome s ultimate objective to repudiate the Constitution and to promote papal falsehoods. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near (Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 451). Doctrinal Differences Disintegrate Matteo Calisi is a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity 4 and has served the last three popes. When Catholic, Evangelicals and Pentecostals worship together our differences will go up towards heaven. We are one in Christ. Jesus said, When I am lifted up I will draw all men to me. When we announce the name of Jesus, that He is the One Lord and Savior, we are attracted to unity. We as Catholics like to bring this testimony to lift up the name that saves, the name of Jesus. 5 Nick Hall spoke about how excited and awesome it was that Pope Francis wanted everyone to come together at this historic ecumenical event. Nick Hall also read a letter from President Barack Obama who praised the ecumenical gathering and offered his best wishes to all the Christians of different backgrounds. President Obama praised them for helping to build a better tomorrow. 5 Charismatic Pastor Lou Engel encouraged the crowd to drop denominational barriers, gender barriers and racial barriers in these last days. He also led the Together 2016 participants in prayer asking God to release His grace of unity upon all the denominations. 5 Here we see Pope Francis, President Barack Obama and many Protestant churches working together to usher in religious unity in this nation. Prophecy declares that this is just what would take place in the last days of earth s history. And he [the USA] exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth Page 2 August 2016

3 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time 1 John 2:18. the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast [Rome] Revelation 13:12. Hundreds of thousands of Evangelicals came to the nation s capital to pray, worship and hear messages on unity and the importance of the churches coming together. This gathering was designed to cover up and evaporate centuries-old doctrinal divisions between Protestants and Catholics. Their purpose is to obtain a mere external unity based on emotional worship and not on Bible truth or principle. Rome s concept of together is not designed to resolve doctrinal differences by searching the Scriptures. No, Rome is not interested in exposing hearts and consciences to the life-changing truths found in God s holy word. Rome only wants unity of worship. This unity of worship is not being achieved by Bible study, prayer, repentance, heartsearching confession, and a putting away of sin as all God s true revivals are to be characterized. (See Genesis 35:1-14; 1 Samuel 12; 2 Kings 22-23; 2 Chronicles 29-30; Isaiah 1; Jeremiah 3; Daniel 9; Hosea 14; Joel 2; Amos 5.) At this gathering and the April 9 gathering which took place in Los Angeles, Rome made an international call to worship and tens of thousands responded. This is strikingly similar to a call to worship made by King Nebuchadnezzar. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Then [they] were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up Daniel 3:2-3. The Word of God plainly declares that His law is to be scorned, trampled upon, by the world; there will be an extraordinary prevalence of iniquity. The professed Protestant world will form a confederacy with the man of sin, and the church and the world will be in corrupt harmony. Here the great crisis is coming upon the world. The Scriptures teach that popery is to regain its lost supremacy, and that the fires of persecution will be rekindled through the timeserving concessions of the so-called Protestant world (General Conference Bulletin, April 13, 1891). A Carnival Atmosphere Notice the format of King Nebuchadnezzar s worship service: Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: and whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up Daniel 3:4-7. 4 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him John 4:23. The signal for worship was music. A very significant portion of Together 2016 was music. Christian rock, rap and other worldly styles of music blared from the outdoor stage as bodies swayed and hands rose in a grand celebration of worship. The music charged the atmosphere with an intense feeling of emotional unity. With hypnotic rhythm and excessive volume, worldly music confuses the frontal lobe of the brain disabling the center of conscience, reason and intellect. The lower passions take control of the mind and sin no longer seems so sinful. False doctrines no longer seem so dangerous. Lustful passions no longer seem disgusting. Emotional-based Worship This type of unity sweeps everyone together as one in Christ. In emotional-based worship, no matter what beliefs people hold or behaviors they endorse or sins they participate in, they can all connect in worship and enjoy an exhilarating experience. Jesus says, Ye worship ye know not what but the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth John 4: If the spirit of the worship service does not lead people to search the Scriptures for truth, it is the wrong spirit moving them! And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth Together was the theme. All churches and faiths and everyone together. A bedlam of noise and confusion. Everyone will be together in Rome s new world Order Catholics & Protestants. unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon Revelation 16: The gathering has begun! These Christian carnival events are not emphasizing sanctification, holiness, purity or righteous living that comes as a result of reading and applying God s word in our lives. They are not emphasizing the importance of coming under the control of the Holy Spirit and moral principles. The fundamental teachings of the Bible are not taught or encouraged at these interfaith ecumenical gatherings. There is no attempt to resolve doctrinal apostasy found within the Evangelical movement or within Roman Catholicism. In fact, you can believe in the most heretical teachings and practices and there is no problem all are welcome. You can go and fellowship, worship and pray with whatever belief system you hold provided you acknowledge other peoples belief system to be equally as good as truth. Many churches are ordaining transgender bishops and pastors, but that does not matter to this ecumenical movement because they believe they can still have togetherness in spite of the differing views of sexuality. Many who claim Christianity believe that the Bible is full of errors and cannot be trusted but because the ecumenical movement invites people to unite in love and not Page 4 August 2016

5 This people draw nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. In vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men Matthew 15:8, 9. on Bible dogma it doesn t matter. Many Christians have literally departed from the faith which is no problem. You just have to agree to disagree. As Paul expressed, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils 1 Timothy 4:1. Dangers Emotional Worship One of the greatest dangers of emotional worship services such as these are that people feel connected to God when they are actually far from Him. They experience exhilarating, worshipful feelings and believe that they are filled with the spirit of God when they are not. Worship experiences such as these have an intoxicating effect. The perception of right and wrong can be numbed just as much by the pulsating sounds of loud music and emotionally charged worship as it can by alcohol, drugs or lustful passions; and those who heed the call of Babylon and participate in these types of emotional worship services will find themselves bowing to the image of the beast when it is set up. Satan s plan is to keep souls deceived through his many temptations so that they are left without a shelter when the judgments of God fall upon this world. Only when it is too late will many realize that they are forever lost. We cannot afford to be gathered to the wrong side. Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed Isaiah 9: Consider carefully the words of Isaiah describing the gathering of people in the last days and how to be part of the right gathering: Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us. For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the LORD of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. And He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken. Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him. Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto Page 5

6 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols Ezekiel 20:24. their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them Isaiah 8:9-20. Ecumenical Apocalypse And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon Revelation 16:16. What is going on in the Protestant world today? Can we not see with our own eyes that this gathering together is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? As Protestants turn back to join together with the mother church in Rome, it will soon bring us to the greatest crisis this world has ever seen. W h e n t h e leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result (The Great Controversy, p. 445). Just as King Nebuchadnezzar s call to worship was accompanied by a threat of death against all those who did not join in (Daniel 3:6), eventually Modern Babylon s call to worship will also be followed by a death decree. Thousands of Jews were carried away to Babylon with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. But all of them who were present bowed to the great image except these three. Who of us shall be able to stand when the rest of the world worships the image to the beast? At this very location Christians are uniting and heeding the call of Pope Francis, whose seat represents the power that has changed God s law and has set up a false idol Sabbath. History is repeating again. stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek Him, that seek Thy face, O Jacob Psalm 24:3-6. Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon Isaiah 55:6-7. When the churches of our land, uniting upon such points of faith as are held by them in common shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and sustain their institutions, then will Protestant America have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result (Great Controversy, p. 445). Protestant America and Rome are working hand in hand for a closer and more intimate cooperation. Religious ecumenism seems to be the top priority for world leaders in their efforts to stem the rise of terrorism, social hostilities and war. Again, what the world fails to see is that when church and state begins to unite all religious bodies into one, these efforts to bring peace and harmony will result in tyranny and persecution. Pope Francis is creating a religious and political climate that will bring about the final scenes of earth's history. Everyone seems to believe that Page 6 August 2016

7 Results of Ecumenical Apostasy the Pope's ecumenical worship services are being done in order to make the world a safer and better place. What is actually being done is that the final scenes depicted in Bible and Spirit of Prophecy are coming to pass. 1. Idol Worship Renewed "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed" Revelation 13:15. This verse here describes the very same scenes that took place in ancient Babylon with King Nebuchadnezzar. The entire ancient world was brought together to worship an idol by state decree. And by worshiping the idol, they were giving reverence to the King of Babylon. Today all the churches and all the political leaders are being bound together into one big ecumenical camp. They are worshiping the beast by honoring the idol sabbath set up by the beast power. Notice the fulfillment of this. "This movement, demanding that all observe as sacred an idol sabbath, resembles the act of Nebuchadnezzar in making a golden image, and setting it up for all to worship...nebuchadnezzar determined to make an image like that which he had seen, only it was to be made all of gold. This idol of gold was to be a most imposing spectacle, and was to take the place of God and be worshiped as God. The Sunday idol is set up as was this image. Human laws demand that it be worshiped as sacred and holy, thus putting it where God's holy Sabbath should be" (Manuscript Release, vol. 12, pp. 218, 219). 2. The Union of Church and State "These [political kings of the earth] have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast [Papacy]" Revelation 17:13. Here we see church and state coming together in these last days just as it did in ancient Babylon. Prophecy predicts that church and state will unite again to make war against God's faithful people. We see this happening as religious forces are rallying to take-over the state, just as King Nebuchadnezzar, a state power, passed a law pertaining to worship and forced all of mankind with the power of the state to obey. "When religion is mixed with civil government, it means much to Seventh-day Adventists. A union of church and state means a recognition of a spurious sabbath, and a failure to respect the conscientious observance of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment" (Manuscript Release, vol. 12, p. 218). Popery is to regain its lost supremacy, and the first fires of persecution will be rekindled through the time-serving concessions of the so-called Protestant world (Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 368). 3. Death to Dissenters Just as there was a death decree in ancient Babylon, "whoseso falleth not down and worshipeth, he should be cast into the midst of the fiery furnace" Daniel:3:11, so there will also be one in these last days: "that the image of the beast also should speak, and should cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed" Revelation 13:15. Those who honor the Bible Sabbath will be denounced as enemies of law and order, as breaking down the moral restraints of society, causing anarchy and corruption, and calling down the judgments of God upon the earth (Great Controversy, p. 592). There will come a time when, because of our advocacy of Bible truth, we shall be treated as traitors [terrorists] (Testimonies, Vol. 6, p. 394). Because we are living in dangerous times we thank God for the Three Angels Messages of Revelation 14 and for the blessed hope of the Lord s soon coming. God s prophetic word has warned us of man s futile schemes and attempts in converting and uniting the world into one ecumenical body. But we know the end of such plans. The coming of the Lord is the only hope this world has. May we obey God s commands and carry this final warning to all the world, and then Christ will come and put an end to sin and heal the universe.
