As far as we knew, we were the first church to do this. So we wrote cheers and practiced them. We were ready to represent. YOU know, sometimes God erases your plans. Well, there we were placed behind a marching band. I mean drums, horns, etc. There was no way that our cheers would be heard. As the parade started moving, the band was directed to turn down 113th Street. That left our little group free from their loud noise. Someone in our group started singing, "This is the day, this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made". We all followed suit. You know the people of Harlem responded. People on the sidewalk were lifting their hands to God and waving as they heard the song. We sang another song that we sing in church. Old men and women were nodding their heads as we passed, raising their hands in praise with us. Young people were singing along with us. Policemen and women who were directing traffic clapped their hands. Our pastor could have won a popularity contest. Everywhere we passed they called out to her, shaking her hand. Folks were clapping and we saw the joy in their faces. We sang every gospel song that we knew and Harlem rose up and welcomed us. What a fellowship!! How proud we were to be Christian and a people of African ancestry.

Under the leadership of "Dr. Sujay", as she is affectionately known, souls are saved, the Word is taught, and the membership grows. After months of prayer and accessing the needs of the church, she presented a vision and plans for the future. We are now fulfilling that vision. We are praying for a "Harvest in Harlem." She is known for her Wonderful Wall Street service at Old St. John United Methodist Church, which takes place every Wednesday. The NY Times described Dr. Johnson Cook as "Billy Graham and Oprah rolled into one." Born in Harlem, Rev. Dr. Suzan D. Johnson Cook is our senior pastor and founder of the BCF. A world-renowned pastor, she is often in demand as a preacher, motivational speaker, and orator for her electrifying, life-changing messages. A published author, she has 8 books in print. The latest two: Balancing Your Life: God's Hope and Plan for Your Future (Nelson 2003), Praying For the Men in Your Life (Zondervan 2003). She is also known for her best sellers: Too Blessed To Be Stressed: Words of Wisdom for Women on the Move (Nelson 1998) and A New Dating Attitude (Zondervan 2001). She is married to Mr. Ronald Cook. They have two sons: Samuel Christopher (age 13) and Christopher Daniel (age 10). She served this nation on three occasions: as White House Fellow for Domestic Policy, The Faith Liaison for HUD, and the only faith leader appointed to President Clinton's initiative on Race. Locally, she is active in many civic affairs and is the only female Chaplain for the NYC Police Department. She is also the first female President for the 10,000 member Hampton University Ministers' Conference, in its 89th year history. She toured with Bishop T.D. Jakes to be one of "God's Leading Ladies" for his conference series and was invited by the Joint National Baptist Convention to be the first female preacher to address the body. She loves the Lord. And Our Ministries on the Move To God Be the Glory for the Great Things He Has Done! As a new year begins, we are reminded how extremely good God has been to us. Believers Christian Fellowship Ministries are alive and well and serving to increase the Kingdom of God.The following are some of this year's highlights in ministry..children's Teaching Ministry Min. Yvonne Robinson and Sis. Yadira Dowling have been busy with our 2 to 12 year olds. These sisters have been very creative with our children in their teaching styles and their creativity is unparalleled. The children are very excited about their studies and look forward to Sunday morning classes. Just ask our newest member, Salvador Rosario, who has already brought his friend Ashley to join him. "And He took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them." (Mark 10:16).Youth Teaching Ministry The Youth Ministry led by Min. David and our tremendous youth leaders has been diligently at work. This team of ministry leaders is dedicated to our youth and has applied creative ideas into their teaching ministry. Currently they are studying Ephesians 6, "Putting On The Full Armor of God". The yputh are learning how important it is to be girded with God's armor to resist the attack of the enemy. "Train up a child in the way he or she should go, and when they are old they will not turn from it. (proverbs 22:6).Discipleship Classes/SPONGE classes (Adult Teaching Ministry) Discipleship class teachers have successfully completed their first cycle of teaching. They have been hard-working and attentive to the growing needs of their students and have shared the "good news" of Jesus Christ to all! Pastor has now started a more intensive SPONGE class, so that we can soak up the word. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2Tim. 2: 15)

This team has been in prayer to the Lord to heal and deliver our hurts and losses. We welcome Sis. Santiago as she works with Sis. Fogle and Sis. Folson in this much needed ministry function. (Ps. 150:4) Women's Teaching Ministry Sister to Sister has completed its second cycle of teaching with Sisters Moore and O'Neal as co-teachers. Through the sharing of testimonies and the encouragement offered by group members this ministry has shown itself to be Holy Ghost filled and inspired! "Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you." (proverbs 4:6).Men's Teaching Ministry Brother to Brother has also completed a successful second cycle led by Min. Elvin Dowling. The brothers are on the move, inspired and in dialogue with one another about the Almighty God! Men's Day will be the 2nd Sunday in March, "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." (proverbs 2:6).Health Ministry: Fine, Fit & Fabulous Fine, Fit and Fabulous is a spiritual, fitness, and nutrition program started in February at BCF. The 3-month program includes si-x spiritual group sessions and twelve fitness session. More than 50 BCF disciples have signed up for a 12-week healthy lifestyle and exercise program. Loyce Godfrey is the leader and she has a team ready, willing and able. GOD T AKES AN INTREST IN HOW CHRISTIANS SERVE AND LOVE THOSE LESS FORTUNATE We thank the entire BCF community for everything you do in your ministries. Last year would not have been a success without your hard work and dedication to the ministry of Jesus Christ. The An2el Tree Ministr~ is happy to report that after the 11 a.m. service on December 18, 2005, children of inmates received presents and were treated to light refreshments. The caretakers and children experienced a life changing time. Since we know that children do as they see, it is our hope that compassion, love, and caring for others will stay with them now and always. The spirit of evangelism was evident as promises were made by our visitors to attend BCF on a regular basis. We look forward to this year's Angel Tree event and pray that even more families will be blessed. The Prison Minist~ collected items for female inmates at the Bay View Correctional Facility. These items were taken to the facility for distribution. As always, the congregation at BCF was most generous. A hearty "Thank you" was received from the intake worker at the facility, Ms. Gloria Wynn. She said that our church gave the most gifts ever.

Wonderful Wall Street Wednesdays was started by Pastor Johnson-Cook when she served at Mariners Temple Baptist Church seven years ago. She asked Pastor Jim McGraw to use John Street Church, and a unique partnership was formed. Pastor Johnson-Cook has had world and local leaders speak at the service, including Reverend Jessie Jackson, Yolanda King, and the current pastor of John Street United Methodist Church, Reverend Jason Radmacher. Here is what Reverend Jason has to say about Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday: "Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday is simply one of the most exciting ministries in which I have ever participated. I don't know of anything else like it, going on anywhere, in any other city, during the middle of the workweek. It's such a blessing to me to be able to be a part of something through which God is touching so many lives. It's also an incredible pleasure and honor to service beside one of God's true gifts to the Church in America today, the Rev. Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook". My name is Christopher Paulucci and I am forty four years old, married for almost 20 years to a wonderful anointed woman of the Lord, I have two teenage sons, and have been a Christian for over twenty years. I work downtown on Fulton Street. Come with me as I take you on a journey to a wonderful place, a place where the presence of the Lord is mighty. The place-- Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday. I can only imagine that when the Lord put the stars in order, he had a meeting with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and said "One day we will create a place where Jesus is exalted and lives are touched by my spirit and we will call this place Wonderful Wall Street Wednesdays". The first Wednesday that I attended Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday, it was a scene that must have been out of heaven. The place was packed with all races. Singing started and we all joined in, and the Holy Spirit moved in a powerful way. As the Praise Team led us, we sang our songs and our hearts leaped for joy as we gave our all and lifted our hands to the Lord. It was a beautiful time being there with my brothers and sisters lifting up the name of Jesus. After we sat down, Pastor Cook, or Pastor McGraw, or one of the guest speakers would preach an anointed message for the next minutes. Reverend Adrienne Lotson was another blessing to Wonderful Wall Street Wednesday. Here is a woman by her prayers and tenacity helped to birth a work here and see it grow to conception and produce blessings upon blessings in the space of minutes. She inspired us and prepared the hearts of the people to hear the word of the Lord. The Lord would speak through Doctor Suzan Johnson Cook; along with Pastor McGraw, and now Pastor Radmacher, and a host of guest speakers too numerous to mention. You ask what draws speakers to this place, The Holy Spirit brings them in, does the work and the anointing flows freely as the Wonderful Wall Street crowd is fed from the word of God through his servants.

I discovered Wonderful Wall Street when I started to work for the City of New York. I had just completed a year in a drug rehabilitation program. A co-worker and I were talking and I happened to mention how God's grace came into my life. She was Christian and she identified with a lot of the problems I was having in my life. She invited me to Wonderful Wall Street. At first when she told me about this church, I said ':4 church service, on a weekday?" I did not know what to expect. When I walked into the Church, I was amazed at how packed it was. The music was wonderful. The entire congregation was on their feet singing and clapping and praising God. I felt immediately at home. Immediately, I fell into the praise of worship. At that time, it was Pastor Cook and her partner, Pastor James McGraw. Together they welcomed the congregation. Pastor Cook preached a sermon on the book of David. She told how David was not this saint of a man, but a man who did sinful things and yet God blessed him. She said how David praised God at all times, and when he was wrong he went boldly to his father. I needed to hear that. I felt like she was speaking to me. Me, who have sinned and fallen far-or so I thought. But Pastor Cook brought God home to me. I have continued to go to Wonderful Wall Street. Coming to Wonderful Wall Street calms my mind in the middle of a hectic work week. It re-connects me to whom I belong to and my purpose in life. Wonderful Wall Street saved this sinners life and I am so glad that they are there because there are a lot of hurting people in that area To hear the word of God in the middle of the work week, in the middle of Wall Street is awesome.
