WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS INTROIT: Alive! Alive! Alive Alive Alive forevermore My Jesus is alive alive forevermore. Alive alive alive forevermore My Jesus is alive. Sing haleluia, sing haleluia My Jesus is alive forevermore Sing haleluia, sing haleluia My Jesus is alive. CALL TO WORSHIP L. We gather as disciples of Jesus to rejoice that he has risen from the dead. P. We gather in the presence of God whose love healed the One whom the world scorned. L. The resurrected Jesus is with us to help us find the way to abundant life. P. We are a blessed people! All honour and glory and praise be to our God. PRAYER OF INVOCATION (In Unison) Holy One, resurrected Jesus, blessed Son of God; you come to us with the promise of new life. You meet us in the busyness of our daily lives and show us the way to eternal life. Be with us now as we worship that your presence may bring us peace. May our worship on this blessed Easter Sunday instill within us a sense of your presence! Grant that we may show your love to others by the way in which we live our lives. We ask in Jesus name! Amen! HYMN: 164 VU The Day of Resurrection PRAYER OF CONFESSION (In Unison) Almighty God, we have stood at the foot of the Cross and we have wept as we searched for a reason. We have gone to the tomb and found it empty. Our Lord and Saviour has risen as he had promised. Yet even with the breath of your Spirit upon us we doubt. We confess that at times we wonder are we truly worthy, are we truly loved, in spite of our faults. Forgive us dear God and assure us once again of your great love for all your people. In Jesus name we pray, Amen! ASSURANCE OF PARDON L. God s face shines on all who are truly repentant. P. This is the day God s love is made real to us. All: Our brokenness is healed and we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
2 Sunday School Presentation HYMN: 330 VU Jesus Shall Reign SCRIPTURES New Testament: Acts 10: Epistle: 1 Corinthians 15: Responsive Psalm: Psalm 118 (P.837 VU) Solo: Derrick Butt Gospel: Luke 24:1-12 SERMON OFFERTORY INVITATION DOXOLOGY: Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures, here below. Praise Him above, ye heavenly Host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. OFFERTORY PRAYER (In Unison) God of all Ages, you have emptied the tomb and set us free from our burdens. Hope has overshadowed fear. Comfort has replaced neglect. Faith has gained victory over doubt. Today, we recommit to offering comfort, hope, and faith to others. We offer these gifts in honor of your Easter promise. Alleluia Amen! COMMUNION HYMN Break Thou the Bread of Life (SOG 149) Break Thou the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, As Thou didst break the loaves beside the sea; Beyond the sacred page I seek Thee, Lord; My spirit pants for Thee, O living Word! Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord, to me, to me, As Thou didst bless the bread by Galilee; Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall; And I shall find my peace, my all in all. O send Thy Spirit, Lord, now unto me, That He may touch my eyes, and make me see: Show me the truth concealed within Thy Word, And in Thy Book revealed I see the Lord. Thou art the bread of life, O Lord, to me, Thy holy Word the truth that saveth me; Give me to eat and live with Thee above; Teach me to love Thy truth, for Thou art love. All members are encouraged to attend. *News from the Annual Congregational Meeting, held on March 16 Thank You for coming along. A further clarification on The Shingle Fund income to cover the cost of the Metal Roof came from a variety of sources. The identified individual givings for 2014 was $ , for 2015 was $ and the Hot Roast Beef Dinner fundraiser was $ Thank You to all who contributed in these ways. The other sources, as outlined in a letter circulated in November, included Insurance, East District loan, UC Grant, Loan from our Cemetery Account. Over the years, money had been donated to the Building Fund, which was also used for The Shingle Fund. Regular repayments have been paid over the past year and half on the $20, loan and approximately, $13, is remaining over the next three and a half years. We still welcome donations to The Shingle/Roof Fund. *A budget of $ 92, was passed expenses include our share of the Pastoral Charge Assessment, oil, heat & light, insurance, maintenance, organists, etc.. The average monthly income needed to balance this budget is $ A committee will look at various activities which we can have throughout the year to supplement the envelope givings. *Susan Mercer and Darlene Kearley are compiling an list of Central Congregation so notices of upcoming events can be distributed electronically. Feel free to pass along your address to either of them. *WOW, what a success The Soup s On Lenten Project has been this year!! We served approximately 1000 meals, some were delivered to people in the community whom we felt would like a bowl of soup and dessert and there were many who came by the CE Center regularly to enjoy fellowship with one another. This would not have been the success it was, without the ongoing help of 50 volunteers who assisted with planning, grocery shopping, vegetable peeling, soup cooking, decorating, preparing the desserts and take outs, serving and cleaning up. There were many from the congregations who donated food items, pots of soup and contributed financially to this project. Thank You to everyone who helped in any way to make this project so successful. Trinity: *Trinity Board of Management meeting March 29 th 7:30 pm.
