2 Spiritual Director s Reflections Two Hundred Thirty- seven years ago the United States of America declared her independence from England. It was free from the abuses of King George III and that this new nation would be based on liberties and freedoms that were foreign to monarchial rule. Freedom comes with a price and our country was at war with England. The lives of many were sacrificed but the birth of a New Nation commenced. The notion of freedom has, over time, dissolved into a chaotic fantasy where freedom no longer involves sacrifice but a reckless abandonment to anything goes. I can do whatever I want and no one can stop me is the chant for today. All of this nonsense is just the psycho- babel of relativism. No restrictions, no personal responsibility, no guilt, no accountability is what this philosophy promotes. However, there is a source where one can find that true freedom that so many people are looking for and it is found in Jesus Christ. Our Savior witnessed by action and word what True Freedom is. His whole life was to show us fallen human beings who God the Father is and where that source of True Freedom comes from. It is not just TRUE FREEDOM that God provides but also TRUE LOVE, TRUE JOY, TRUE HAPPINESS and ETERNAL LIFE. This life requires one thing that our modern world rejects, and that is surrender to God. The World View tells us that surrender, submission, subjection are a loss to freedom. You cannot give your life over to anyone, including God. The paradox is that when we surrender, submit, subject our lives to God, we receive TRUE FREEDOM. Surrendering our lives to Christ the King gives us the Freedom the world cannot give. We accomplish this today by surrendering our lives to Christ s Bride, the Church. Her guidance, wisdom, and power comes from her Groom, Jesus Christ. In this union the world comes to see the Glory of God and brings Salvation to Souls. This surrender is not done by force but out of love. The World sees this surrender as done in force or folly, but we see it as done in love and life; eternal life. Yet God does not force Himself on us. He gives Himself in love and we are called to accept Him in love. This is called Free Will. If His love is given through force then we would surrender ourselves more out of fear that out of love. He wants us to give ourselves to Him in love for love lasts forever where fear is limited and weak. Our Spiritual Father, St. Pio, surrendered himself to God by offering his life as a priest and he received the wounds of Christ, the stigmata. He also surrendered himself to Christ s Bride, the Church, when She asked him to refrain from public audiences when his fame began to grow. The Church wanted to make sure that what St. Pio was doing was truly from God. He sacrificed his life to the guidance of the Church and to his superiors out of obedience and was reward for his faithfulness, his surrender, his witness to God by being cleared to continue his work. When we surrender to God, we will receive blessings beyond measure. Our Nation received Freedom when we became independent from England. We, however receive True Freedom when we become dependent on God. May God continue to Bless You and bring you His Peace. Yours in Christ, Fr. Edward J. Janoch Spiritual Director
3 Dedication to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus In this month dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus, let us praise the Blood of Jesus Christ poured out for us on the Cross and continually offered for our redemption in the Eucharist. In His Body and Blood we are washed clean and made whole. Ancient Anxanum, the city of the Frentanese, has contained for over twelve centuries the first and greatest Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church. This wondrous Event took place in the 8th century A.D. in the little Church of St. Legontian, as a divine response to a Basilian monk's doubt about Jesus' Real Presence in the Eucharist. During Holy Mass, after the two- fold consecration, the host was changed into live Flesh and the wine was changed into live Blood, which coagulated into five globules, irregular and differing in shape and size. The Host- Flesh, as can be very distinctly observed today, There has been 140 miracles of the Eucharist reported, including one when Pope Francis was a Arch bishop. Various ecclesiastical investigation were conducted since The analyses were conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision. These analyses sustained the following conclusions: The Flesh is real Flesh. The Blood is real Blood. The Flesh and the Blood belong to the human species. The Flesh is a "HEART" complete in its essential structure. It consists of the muscular tissue of the left ventricle of the heart. In the Flesh we see present in section: the left ventricle of the heart. The Flesh and the Blood have the same blood- type: AB (Blood- type identical to that which Prof. Baima Bollone uncovered in the Holy Shroud of Turin). The preservation of the Flesh and of the Blood, which were left in their natural state for twelve centuries and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon. The Eucharist was the Center of the life of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. When he ascended the altar to enter the Mystery of the Passion- Death- Resurrection of Jesus, he was transformed and was a means of transformation that God called to service as a living image of the Crucified Savior Whom Padre Pio offered on the altar. Those who participated and spiritually entered the mystery at mass with him were profoundly affected and determined to live in greater harmony with the will of God. Dear Padre Pio -- Thank you for he gift of the Eucharistic miracle we witness everyday. As we meet Jesus on the way, help us to hear and follow His voice. Jesus and you become on in Holy Communion, transform us into that experience so we are aware that He is with us everyday.
4 Please Pray for Our Sick Brothers and Sisters Abbot Christpoher Schwatz, Peggy Arnosk, Mark Luboski, Roger Reardon, Ann Lorek, Mario & Elaine Fitica, Marge Dodig, Rose Chuma, John D Amico, Gregg Danicic, Rita Welling, Dorothy Koncazl, Bernice Jisa, Elena Winzel, Tom Jansen, Michelle Urbancic, Frank Dvorak, Dolores DiLeone, Delores Dean, Loretta Zawislan, Grace Veccio, Ruth Halpin, Barbara Weisinger, Eleanore Gresko, Marie Uhlik, Lydia Baker, June Feldtz, Beverly Marenchek, Alice Yanoscik, Therese Gregg, Anna McCullough, Frank Bublinec, Carole Bertoni, Denise Voss, Jo Perz and James Greene Let Us Pray for the Souls of Our Recently Deceased Family Call Helen Husky (Sunshine chairman) to add a member to the list. HEALING PRAYER Beloved Padre Pio, today I come to add my prayer to the thousands of prayers offered to you every day by those who love and venerate you. They ask for cures and healings, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body and mind. And because of your friendship with the Lord, he heals those you ask to be healed, and forgives those you forgive. Through your visible wounds of the Cross, which you bore for 50 years, you were chosen in our time to glorify the crucified Jesus. Because the Cross has been replaced by other symbols, please help us to bring it back in our midst, for we acknowledge it is the only true sign of salvation. As we lovingly recall the wounds that pierced your hands, feet and side, we not only remember the blood you shed in pain, but your smile, and the invisible halo of sweet smelling flowers that surrounded your presence, the perfume of sanctity. Padre Pio, may the healings of the sick become the testimony that the Lord has invited you to join the holy company of Saints. In your kindness, please help me with my own special request: (mention here your petition, and make the sign of the Cross). Bless me and my loved ones. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
