2 Page 2 Jan./Feb Dear Ones, I often hear people complain about how time is rapidly passing us by. As a result, we tend to fall into resistance, attempting to hold on to the present, or even the past. And then, as life happens, the year comes to an end and we find ourselves unprepared to face the future. As I vision on the new year I see many amazing things in store for myself, for our beloved community and life on planet earth. We are already in growth mode as you have affirmed this with our power statement spoken on Sundays We are a vital, vibrant, prosperous and growing community! Rev. Jennifer Wilde Let us restate our Principle. We are surrounded by an Infinite Possibility. It is Goodness, Love, Law and Reason. In expressing Itself through us, It becomes more fully conscious of It s own being. Therefore, wishes to express through us. As It passes into our being, It automatically becomes the law of our lives. It can pass into expression through us only as we consciously allow It to do so. Therefore, we should have faith in It, and Its desires and Its ability to do for us all that we shall ever need to have done. Since It must pass through our consciousness to operate for us, we must be conscious that It is doing so. Ernest Holmes Now it is time to move toward the future with preparation and planning. In order to do this, we will be offering a wide variety of classes and workshops in 2019 supporting personal growth, empowerment and attention to spiritual practices, along with deepening through study of Science of Mind in our certificated classes. Our intention, aka strategic plan, is becoming a global community, lighting a way to Oneness, as we ignite a world of abundant possibility, honoring the magnificence of the individual soul. (BHAG) We are accomplishing this in the amazing ways we engage with one another! In addition, we are creating comfortable avenues to invite others outside of our spiritual community to programs designed to build and expand a greater, more harmonious community. We are growing, dear ones, and we are generating great excitement in the process through word of mouth, and our website! I encourage each of you to take time to listen to the sweet voice of the Divine as you create each day and find ways to express your love, unity, peace and compassion toward self and all others. May this year, 2019, offer our greatest transformation as we choose it to be. Abundance/Prosperity - I bless the abundance I see all around me, knowing that the presence of God s love showers the Universe with abundance. I open my heart to receive all I desire. Spirituality - I bless the presence of God, and I declare that there is one Life, this Life is God. Its Spirit is my very being. I am grateful for my deepening understanding of all Its Blessings. Career - I bless my career choices knowing that I enjoy a healthy work environment in which my skills and talents are valued and appreciated in all ways. Relationships - I bless my relationships, knowing that I am blessed with a loving heart that sees love and experiences harmony in all my relationships. Health - I bless my health, knowing that every cell of my body is filled with Spirit s radiant good health. Each cell effortlessly cooperates with every organ to maintain and improve my well being. Affirmations are like prescriptions for certain aspects of yourself you want to change. Treatment is not for the purpose of making things happen; it is to provide, within ourselves, an avenue through which they may happen. The moment we think we have to treat to compel something, that moment we are exercising a will power, which is now up against a proposition it cannot possibly meet. 5 Jan./Feb Page 5 Treatment I speak my word knowing that Love is the only presence there is now and always; this is the Love that lights every heart and fills every life. Love is consistently expressing Itself as me because I am God s Love in action. The constant Presence of Spirit is the source of Love within me. I speak my word knowing that as the New Year begins, my choices reflect my understanding of God s Love guiding and guarding me in this new year. I see only God s Love around me, experience only God s Perfection and give only from God s bountiful Love within me. I claim the Truth of Divine Abundance and I am prosperous in all of my affairs. I trust God s abundance within me as I generously give of my time and my talents. In gratitude for this Abundant Love, I surrender to Its flow in my life, knowing all my experiences are Whole and Perfect. With a glad and grateful heart, knowing this to be the Truth of Divine rightaction flowing in my life, I release this treatment into the working of God s Law of Love because it is now my reality. The Practitioner knows the truth about his or her patient; and that selfknowingness rises into the consciousness of the patient. The Practitioner realizes man is born of Spirit and not of matter. 7 Jan./Feb Page 7 YOUTH MINISTRY NEW YEAR - NEW THOUGHT Who is ERNEST HOLMES? What is a Practitioner? Prayer - How it works SEASON FOR NON VIOLENCE Happy 2019! We begin anew and begin with the basics. We will be learning about the teachings of Ernest Holmes and Science of Mind and Spirit. We will invite a Practitioner to come and talk to us about what they do. The children will write prayer requests and explore how prayer works in our lives. We continue to say and sign our Prayer treatment each week "God is - God is everything and everywhere, I am - I am One with God, I Have - God gives me everything, Thank you - I am grateful, Over and out and so it is! In February, we begin Season for Non Violence and learn about what it means as well as study about Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Look for SFNV Daily Practices we hand out each week - for our young ones to do each day during the entire Season! 8 Page 8 Jan./Feb Winter Classes Change your thinking, change your life! - Dr. Ernest Holmes, Founder of Religious Science There s still time to enroll for one of our upcoming Science of Mind classes. Taking classes will help you discover practical approaches to using tools and techniques that can help you understand spiritual principles and to experience the Presence and Power of the Divine in our daily lives. These classes will help students to explore and create the life they want to live. Power of Your Word This class is an introduction to prayer. Why a course on prayer? Because prayer is a BIG part of our daily lives. Whether you realize it or not, you pray all the time. This experiential course teaches the fundamentals of prayer. You ll learn why life-affirming prayer is answered and how it is answered. You ll learn how to pray effectively and become aware of how you limit and interrupt your own prayers. You will also be introduced to various forms of meditation and how they can become a useful tool as you deepen into spirituality. When you complete this class, you ll have new prayer and meditation tools to work with. Each week there is material that will deepen the student s understanding of prayer and the power of meditation. (Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Beyond Limits or Foundations.) Six Monday evenings beginning January 14. Instructor: Clydene Smith, RScP. Investment: $220. Exploring Roots The purpose of this course is twofold: First, to bring into sharper focus our grasp of Science of Mind fundamentals by exploring the soil in which Dr. Holmes ideas took root; Second, to savor with pure enjoyment the richness of the rational, philosophical, and mystical concepts contributed by the writings of three giants in the early New Thought Movement. We will study them in the sequence by which they impacted the life and work of the young Ernest Holmes: Ralph Waldo Emerson, the distinguished New England philosopher and essayist; Thomas Troward, an eminent British jurist and metaphysician; and Emma Curtis Hopkins, a greatly respected American teacher and mystic, often called the teacher of teachers. 9 Jan./Feb Page 9 Practicing Your Presence Workshops Two new workshops are being offered: Part 1: Facilitation. This is for those who have a desire to teach and just need some training to learn the basics of good teaching techniques. Saturday, January 19 from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Taught by Rev. Jenn Wilde. Tuition: $75. Part 2: Public Speaking, Platform Presence. This workshop is for those who feel a calling to share their invocation and words of wisdom with the congregation on Sunday morning. Learn how to allow Spirit to express through you and be part of enhancing our Sunday service. Saturday, January 26, from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Taught by Rev. Jenn Wilde. Tuition: $75. Visioning/Collage Workshop Let s get together and vision to create our best 2019! Connie Martin, RScP. from the Colorado Springs community will facilitate a visioning and collage workshop. This is a way to put the future we desire into action. January 12, 2019, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Cost is $ All materials and snacks will be provided.

10 Page 10 Jan./Feb Listen - Your Journal is Speaking Do you want to hear what it has to say? Bring an open mind and heart to this workshop and learn to access and erase old tapes and connect with your own inner wisdom. (Journaling is not the same as keeping a Diary.) Based on the writings of Ernest Holmes and the Journaling techniques of Christina Baldwin and Kay Leigh Hagan, this workshop will help you: Discover the Past Define the Present Design the Future No previous experience or skills are necessary. Led by Marilyn Manassee, RScP. When: 4 Wednesdays, March 6 to March 27, 11:00am to 1:00pm Fee: $45 "To keep a journal of self-awareness allows you to be an active leader in your own life. We are so blessed to have such wonderful volunteers at New Dawn. Each of these people give their time, heart and soul to ensure that things run smoothly at our Center. Today we d like to show our appreciation and gratitude to Jean Buscherhof who is retiring from her work on the Welcome team. Her TEN YEARS of service do not go without praise and acknowledgement for her work, dedication and love for our community!!! Jean s smiling face has greeted so many people visiting our Center, and many of those people have become a part of our community because of her and her love for New Dawn. Thank you, Jean!

Conscious Community: Associating with those who are exploring and growing, those who see life as a spiritual experience, and honoring the call to share and cultivate a sacred space. Conscious Service: Discovering the joy and privilege of service realizing service as one of the most meaningful spiritual practices when it is a recognition of Spirit in ourselves, in all others, and in that which we do with love. Conscious Giving: Transcending obligatory giving, embracing the opportunity to express abundance through supporting a vision that matters, realizing ourselves as an inlet for the unlimited abundance of God, and lovingly choosing to become an outlet for God s Good. The Talk/Pray/Love care ministry offers spiritual prayer, visits and support to New Dawn congregants experiencing challenges (in home or hospital). 12 Page 12 Jan./Feb Community Outreach Care Ministry Community Outreach has been busy the last few months. In October, Gateway Domestic Violence Services recognized New Dawn for our continued, outstanding volunteer support. Kathy Nelson accepted the certificate for New Dawn. It is now posted in Fellowship Hall near the Community Outreach bulletin board. At the Thanksgiving service, New Dawners contributed hundreds of dollars worth of non-perishable foods. These items were then delivered to Gateway Domestic Violence Services the following week. Thanks to everyone who contributed and especially Cathy Blank, Beth Bell, Marilyn Allen and Laura Stanovich for set up and delivery. The Outreach Team decided to support Aurora Mental Health Center kinship groups with a $450 tithe. This tithe allowed 49 people, 22 adults and 27 children, to attend a showing of Instant Families on November 25th. This movie is a tender, informative movie about foster care and adoption. New Dawners were invited to attend. Parents then discussed the movie in their support groups after the showing. In December Community Outreach focused on the Giving Tree that provides gifts to moms and children being served by Gateway Domestic Violence Services. This year New Dawners purchased and wrapped a record number of gifts for 43 children. The Women s ministry provided $25 gift cards to each of the 24 moms of these children. Women s Ministry also created cards for every mom with a personal message from New Dawn. The Aurora Animal Shelter received 226 pounds of dry dog and cat food, 147 cans of canned food, as well as 11 cans of puppy and kitten formula and $75 in cash donations. Thank you to Mary Stephens for taking charge of all the donations to the Aurora Animal Shelter. And THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Christmas a bit brighter and more abundant for these families and animals. Don t forget, you can donate Boxtops for Education for Crawford Elementary school all year long. Just drop them off in the Boxtops shoebox in Fellowship Hall. In addition, if you donate items to ARC, you can bring the receipt to Kathy Nelson or put them in the envelope in the Gateway Donation Box.
