4 For the church throughout the world, Inspire the sons and daughters of your church for prophetic witness to your truth. And upon old and young give clarity of vision to acknowledge your saving power in the world. For nations of the world and its leaders, Overcome the babble of misunderstanding among the nations, and let all people hear in their own language and recognize in their own culture your unifying message of love. For planet Earth, our home, By your Spirit, renew the earth, make us good stewards of its resources, and teach us to enjoy its abundance rightly. For those in need of healing, Send your healing Spirit upon those who are sick in body or mind, restore them to health, and restore to them the joy of salvation. For our neighbors and members of our civic community, Teach us to be good neighbors, to live in peace with one another, and in friendship share the joys and burdens of daily life. For our children, Bless our children, protect them from danger, and help parents and caregivers nurture them so that they may mature in wisdom and grow in grace.
5 For our enemies, Bless our enemies and show us how we may do good to them for the sake of Jesus Christ. For all those people or situations that have moved us to compassion. Holy Spirit, hear our prayer [Here you may say aloud your prayers of petition and concern.] Holy Spirit, receive our prayers and, according to your wisdom, provide all that we need. And hear us now as we pray the prayer that Jesus taught, saying Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. O$)'&!'* A$) G )$&7 G!\! " OAA)'$)* A '86 Come, Holy Ghost Leland B. Sateren Come, Holy Ghost, in love, shed on us from above Thine own bright ray! Divinely good Thou art; Thy sacred gifts impart to gladden each sad heart. O come today! Come, Light serene and still, our inmost bosoms fill, Dwell in each breast. We know no dawn but Thine; Send forth Thy beams divine on our dark souls to shine, and make us blessed. Come, all the faithful bless, let all who Christ confess His praise employ; give virtue s rich reward, Victorious death accord, and, with our glorious Lord, eternal joy! Amen. 7 We Seal God s Word Upon Our Hearts T8 S(5)(6 ' $A '8 L$)G 7 S&) L: We celebrate the Spirit of God, Who hovered over creation and brought order out of formlessness. P: We praise You, Spirit of God. L: We celebrate the Spirit of God, Who filled Jesus with power and wisdom and, through him, made the life of God available to all. P: We praise You, Spirit of God. L: We celebrate the Spirit of God, who has been poured out on all people, and leads us into the Kingdom of God. P: We praise You, Spirit of God. L: And so, as we gather at the Lord's table, we recognize the Spirit's presence among us, and we open our hearts to the Spirit's influence. P: Lord, we come knowing that we depend on you for life and truth and love. We come knowing that you welcome us with open and accepting arms. We come ready to meet with you, and be changed by the encounter. Amen. L: We remember how the Lord Jesus, on the eve of his crucifixion, gathered his friends for a meal. During supper, he took a loaf of bread, and gave thanks for it. Then he broke it and passed it among them with these words: P: This is my body which is broken for you. Take, eat and remember me. L: After the meal, Jesus took a cup of wine and gave thanks for it. Then he passed it among them with these words: P: This is my blood which is shed for you. Take, drink and remember me. L: So now, we eat and we drink and we remember Jesus and his great love for us. And we will continue to do this until he returns. Amen.

12 Our Mission Gathering in the heart of Nashville, we are a community of disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek the welfare of the city as we seek the kingdom of God. We are an historic church working to be a welcoming and inclusive congregation. Together we actively share God's grace and love through worship, education and service, and through being an active voice in promoting justice and peace in our community and the world. Our Values and Ethos We believe that every person is a beloved child of God. Our welcome extends to everyone, whatever your economic circumstances, your faith background, your racial or ethnic identity, your sexual orientation or gender identity, or your political affiliations. As a diverse community we seek to intentionally embody God's radically inclusive and transformative love for everyone. With love and grace, we are called as a community to grow together as a voice for justice and peace each as we are, with our unique human stories of joy and struggle. SESSION 2017 Rev.
