2 hanksgiving is a holiday that Christians wshould absolutely OWN!! Just like our non-believing neighbors, we receive our daily bread from the hand of our heavenly Father. Just like those who are oblivious to the Almighty, we dwell in a land of abundance and plenty. But unlike them, we know something our friends don t... we know from WHOM these blessings have come AND that He has much more in store for us! Think back to a time when your heart almost burst with thankfulness. Was it when you saw your bride walking down the aisle OR when you saw your groom nervously awaiting your arrival? Was it when your firstborn entered the world? Was it graduation or getting hired for your dream job? Was it being surrounded by generations of family? What if I told you that those awesome blessings are pale compared to the brightness of our other God-given blessings? How great is the love and mercy of our God that He would top these earthly blessings with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING in Jesus Christ!! Before day one of creation, our Father chose YOU! Yes, despite your spiritual poverty and openly rebellious nature, God chose to send Christ into the world to redeem you. To say that your character was questionable is a wild understatement, and yet the Lord loved You with a dying love!! It was His desire that you should one day stand before Him HOLY and BLAMELESS! What is the blessing of being HOLY? It is being set apart from the corruption surrounding you. It is being excised out of a world that is falling apart and being rent asunder. It is being elevated to the same condition as the Lord God Almighty the One Whom the angels laud with Holy, holy, holy! Your impurity is washed away by the precious and saving blood of Jesus. It is going from being dirty, dusty creatures of earth to being honored citizens in the Kingdom of heaven! What is the blessing of being BLAMELESS? It is Jesus making the great trade taking on Himself our sin, and bestowing on us His righteousness. It is having all of your core rottenness forgiven, forgotten and transformed. It is the Judge declaring us Innocent and receiving NO condemnation for our numerous and onerous sins. Give thanks to the Lord for He has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing AND our daily bread. What a God! What a life! Give thanks! To God be the glory! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. 3 and bees, for Your love and for this food, thank you God for all that s good. This is a snack prayer that has been sung in our preschool for 40 years. Yes, we ve been around since 1978! Pretty awesome to know that! We have been Sharing God s Word with all Generations of preschool families for 40 years! In fact, we have a couple who is sending their child this year that were in my afternoon class together. They are now married and carrying on the tradition of Bethlehem for their child. For that, I am thankful and humbled. It is awesome to know that we are still doing our job of sharing Jesus in a preschool that prepares children for kindergarten as well as teaches them about their Savior. I m also thankful for the opportunities to share the message of Jesus - with grandparents (who will be coming this month for Grandparent Day) and parents (who will be attending our Thanksgiving Celebrations in each of our seven classes). What a blessing we have in sharing Jesus with them all! We got to hear, at our Cottage Meeting Potluck, about the families that are now part of our congregation who were first part of our preschool. They, too, are blessing our preschool and church with their time, talents, and treasures. The Lord is doing amazing things here at Bethlehem. Thanks so much for letting our staff do this job that we love so much. Happy Thanksgiving!!! Chapel on the Stairs! Jacob had a dream of ange ls ascending and descending a heavenly stairway. Without knowing how, the man summoned sufficient strength to drag his parched body the distance to the second tent. With his last ounce of strength he tugged at the door of the second shack and collapsed. I Need Water A traveler became lost in an unnamed desert. Realizing his only chance for survival was to find civilization, he began walking. Time passed, and he became thirsty. More time passed, and he began feeling faint. Reduced to crawling, he was on the verge of passing out when he spied a small shack about 500 meters in front of him. Barely conscious, he reached the shack and called out, "Water! Please, I need water!" An old man appeared in the door of the shack and replied sympathetically, "I am sorry, sir, but I have no water. However, would you like to buy a tie?" With this, he brandished a collection of exquisite silken neckwear. "You fool," gasped the man. "I'm dying! I need water!" Another man, looking enough like the old man to be his brother, appeared at the door dressed in a costly tuxedo. Looking down at the crumpled mass at his door, he inquired, "May I help you sir?" "Water..." came the feeble reply. "Oh, sir," replied the man, "I'm sorry, but you can't come in here without a tie!"
