First reader(judy Roth) takes book with them, turn page for the next reader. Virge Smith will facilitate readers near Reconciliation Room. Each one reads the petition, turns the page and during the silence, walks down the stairs and the next petition reader walks up, etc. Last (Diana Abbott) brings binder back down the stairs and places it in sacristy. Ushers go to their stations immediately after the homily to be ready to take up collection immediately following the Prayer of the Faithful. 3

My brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, on this most sacred day when the Lord has gone before us to the Father and has assured us of all that he has promised, let us place our prayers before God with confidence and trust. 4

5 PETITION ONE FOR HOLY CHURCH Judy Roth Let us pray, dearly beloved, for the holy Church of God, that our God and the Lord be pleased to give her peace, to guard her and to unite her throughout the whole world and grant that, leading our life in tranquility and quiet, we may glorify God the Father almighty. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, who in Christ revealed your glory to all the nations, watch over the works of your mercy, that your Church, spread throughout all the world, may persevere with steadfast faith in confessing your name. 6 PETITION TWO FOR THE POPE Kathy Best Let us pray also for our most Holy Father Pope Francis, that our God and Lord, who chose him for the Order of Bishops, may keep him safe and unharmed for the Lord s holy Church, to govern the holy People of God. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, by whose decree all things are founded, look with favor on our prayers and in your kindness protect the Pope chosen for us, that, under him, the Christian people, governed by you their maker, may grow in merit by reason of their faith. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is sanctified and governed, hear our humble prayer for your ministers, that, by the gift of your grace, all may serve you faithfully. 8 PETITION FOUR FOR CATECHUMENS (AND ALL TO BE FULLY INITIATED) Cathy Kamp We pray for Brennan Garlock, Debra Garlock, Hadley Garlock and Megan Hanselman who prepare for Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil tomorrow night. We pray for Lynn Bartholomew and Adam Greenly who prepare for full reception into the Roman Catholic church and receiving Confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil tomorrow night. We pray for Melissa Dawson and Jesseca Downey who prepare for Confirmation at the Easter Vigil tomorrow night. Collect Almighty ever-living God, who make your Church ever fruitful with new offspring, increase the faith and understanding of those to be fully initiated, that reborn in the font of Baptism, enlivened by the Holy Spirit and nourished with your Body and Blood, they may be added to the number of your adopted children. 11 PETITION SEVEN FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN CHRIST Marlene Maggio Let us pray also for those who do not believe in Christ that, enlightened by the Holy Spirit, they, too, may enter on the way to salvation. We pray for our sisters and brothers who worship at the Islamic Center of Rochester, that they will have a full revelation of the true God and His loving character. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, grant to those who do not confess Christ that, by walking before you with a sincere heart, they may find the truth and that we ourselves, being constant in mutual love and striving to understand more fully the mystery of your life, may be made more prefect witnesses to your love in the world. 12 PETITION EIGHT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD Steve Smith Let us pray also for those who do not acknowledge God, that, following what is right in sincerity of heart, they may find the way to God. COLLECT Almighty and ever-living God, who created all people to seek you always by desiring you and, by finding you, come to rest, grant, we pray, that, despite every harmful obstacle, all may recognize the signs of your fatherly love all the witness of the good works done by those who believe in you, and so in gladness confess you, the one true God and Father of our human race. We pray for, President Donald J. Trump, the members of the United States Congress, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, Tony LaFountain, Andy Moore, Linda Kohl, Paula Metzler, Rob Quinn, Amy Steklof, and all elected officials. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, in whose hand lies every human heart and the rights of people, look with favor, we pray, on those who govern with authority over us, that throughout the whole world, the prosperity of peoples, the assurance of peace, and freedom of religion may through your gift be made secure. 14 PETITION TEN FOR THOSE IN TRIBULATION Diana Abbott Let us pray dearly beloved, to God the Father almighty, that he may cleanse the world of all errors, banish disease, drive out hunger, unlock prisons, loosen fetters, granting to travelers --- safety, to pilgrims --- return, health to the sick and salvation to the dying. COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, comfort of mourners, strength of all who toil, may the prayers of those who cry out in any tribulation come before you, that all may rejoice, because in their hour of need your mercy was at hand. 15 COLLECTION FOR SHRINES IN THE HOLY LAND Instrumental Music Steve Smith and Bob Ouellette will facilitate getting Ushers for Good Friday Chuck Falcón, Elizabeth and Poly Ouma, Bob Ouellette, Lisa Mannella, TBD Collection taken up for the support of the Shrines in the Holy Land; taken directly to the safe by 2 Ushers following the collection and while the cross is prepared to be brought down the aisle. Ushers should have the basket in the front middle of the sanctuary and once their collection is complete, they bring the monies to the front, drop into the basket, then take their baskets back to the cabinet in the Usher s Room. Two ushers will walk with the offerings to the sacristy, where they will deposit immediately into the safe. Go to places following the silent time after the homily. Use cloth to wipe it periodically when people kiss it. Cross Bears assist guide people to the side of the cross as well as front After "behold the wood of the cross" is sung We repeat : Come, let us adore..stop 3 times.then: THE ADORATION OF THE HOLY CROSS - SECOND FORM The large wooden cross brought forward and is held by the teens on the floor, off of the step, sideways, as we venerate. Candle bearers are standing, flanking the cross. Presider and priest go first. 15

16 All sing, Jesus, Remember Me Veneration Stops here Once veneration is completed, the cross is placed on the stairs in the corner same position as in Lent. THIRD PART: HOLY COMMUNION At the Cross Her Station Keeping (Stabat Mater, 413) Procession of ministers to the Altar: In silence, Virge coordinates from the sacristy. Ministers of Communion come to the sacristy as soon as Adoramus te Christe begins, line up in chapel. The Candle Bearers and Ministers of Communion bring out the Blessed Sacrament down the East/Side Aisle starting down the aisle as soon as veneration is over. As the veneration ends, the altar is prepared for communion by, assisted by the Ministers of Communion. Corporal is placed on the altar receives the paten and the 6 gold ciborium of hosts at the altar + pyx Ministers of Communion, candle bearers and corporal bearer will stay up at altar. Priests go to altar following the ministers of communion motions for all to stand and prays the following: 16

19 PRAYERS AFTER COMMUNION AND FOR DISMISSAL Let us pray Almighty ever-living God, who have restored us to life by the blessed Death and Resurrection of your Christ, preserve in us the work of your mercy, that, by partaking of this mystery, we may have a life unceasingly devoted to you. Through Christ our Lord. DISMISSAL Bow down for the blessing. May abundant blessing, O Lord, we pray, descend upon your people, who have honored the Death of your Son in the hope of their resurrection: may pardon come, comfort be given, holy faith increase, and everlasting redemption be made secure.
