The Sacred Ministers and the Assistants The Celebrant: The Most Reverend Athanasius Schneider, O.R.C. Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Kazakhstan Assistants to the Bishop: The Reverend Father Jay A. Finelli Pastor of The Church of the Holy Ghost Tiverton, Rhode Island The Reverend Father Thomas M. Kocik Parochial Vicar of Santo Christo Parish Fall River, Massachusetts Master of Ceremonies: Brother Mark Visconti, S.J.C. Saint John Cantius Chicago, Illinois!2

Procession The Bishop and ministers process to the sanctuary. When the Bishop arrives at the chair, he makes the Sign of the Cross, sings the Deus in adiutórium. reply: Dómine ad adiuvándum. adiuvándum ( Ё Ё. O God, come to my assistance.. O Lord, make haste to help me.!3 ( Ё Ё ( ( < < < Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. eluia The hymn is begun by the choir and continued by the people. Blest Day By Suffering Sanctified 1. Blest day by suff ring sanctified: Christ s chosen high apostles died. Today St. Peter wins renown. Today St. Paul accepts the crown. 2. Together, equally, they bled: Together: the victorious dead. They followed God and sacrificed And now their faith is crowned by Christ. 3. St. Peter holds the highest place, Yet Paul is not the less by grace. An equal faith was giv n to Paul The chosen vessel of God s call. 4. St. Peter, downward crucified To honor God in how he died Securely tied, he sees unfold The death his Shepherd once foretold. - STAND

5. O Lord, we ask that we may be In their exalted company, And with our princes sing Your praise Forever, to unending days. After the hymn, the Bishop sits and takes his miter; everyone else also sits. The psalms are sung alternating between choir and congregation. Antiphon1: You are Christ, the Son of the living God. Blessed are you Simon, son of John! & bb œ œ œ œ œ œ O praise the Lord, all you nations, acclaim him all you peoples! Strong is His love for us; & bb b b He is faithful œ œ œ forever. œ œ Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Antiphon: You are Christ, the Son of the living God. Blessed are you Simon, son of John!!4

Antiphon 2: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church. œ & b œ œ œ œ œ œ O praise the Lord, Jerusalem! Zion praise your God! & # œ œ He has blessed the œ children within œ you. œ He has strengthened the bars of your gates, He has established peace on your borders, He feeds you with finest wheat. He sends out His word to the earth and swiftly runs His command. He showers down snow white as wool, He scatters hoar-frost like ashes. He hurls down hailstones like crumbs. The waters are frozen at His touch: He sends forth His word and it melts them: At the breath of His mouth the waters flow. He makes His word known to Jacob, to Israel His laws and decrees. He has not dealt thus with other nations; He has not taught them His decrees. Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Antiphon: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church.!5

Antiphon 3 You are the chosen vessel of God, blessed apostle Paul; you preached the truth throughout the whole world. & bb œ œ œ œ Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who bestowed on us in Christ every spiritual blessing in the heavens. God chose us in Him before the world began, to be holy and blameless in His sight. He predestined us to be His adopted sons through Jesus Christ, such was His will and pleasure, That all might praise the glorious favor He has bestowed on us in His beloved. In Him and through His blood, we have been redeemed, and our sins forgiven, So immeasurably generous is God's favor to us. God has given us the wisdom to understand fully the mystery, The plan He was pleased to decree in Christ. A plan to be carried out in Christ, in the fullness of time, To bring all things into one in Him, in the heavens and on the earth. Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Antiphon: You are the chosen vessel of God, blessed apostle Paul; you preached the truth throughout the whole world.!6

Reading Jn 21:15-19 Jesus had revealed himself to his disciples and, when they had finished breakfast, said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? Simon Peter answered him, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my lambs. He then said to Simon Peter a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Simon Peter answered him, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, Do you love me? and he said to him, Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep. Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go. He said this signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, Follow me. Responsory The Apostles proclaimed the word of God and preached it faithfully. & bb œ œ œ œ The Apostles proclaimed the word of God and preached it faithfully. They bore witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and preached it faithfully. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. The Apostles proclaimed the word of God and preached it faithfully.!7

Canticle of Mary Antiphon Gloriósi Apóstoli Christi, quómodo in vita sua dilexérunt se, ita et in morte non sunt separati. BvvfcGYchvvhvvhchvvhvvgcvhvvf,c]chchvzhchvvhvvfvGYcgvvf,c}c Magnificat anima mea Dominum. Et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo. Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae: My souls magnifies the Lord, Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est: et sanctum nomen ejus. Fecit potentiam in brachio suo: dispersit superbos mente cordis sui Deposuit potentes de sede, et exaltavit humiles Esurientes implevit bonis: et divites dimisit inanes. Suscepit Israel puerum suum, recordatus misericordiae suae. The glorious apostles of Christ, how they loved each other in their lifetimes, thus were they not separated in death. And my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, Because He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid, for Et misericordia ejus a progenie in progenies timentibus eum behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed, Because He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is from generation to eneration toward those who fear Him. He has shown might with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He has put down the mighty from their thrones and has exalted the lowly. The hungry He has filled with good things and the rich He has sent empty away. He has given help to Israel His servant, mindful of His mercy (As He promised our fathers) toward Abraham and His decendants forever. Glory be. STAND

Intercessions Bishop The Lord Jesus built His holy people on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. In faith let us pray: Asst Asst Asst Asst Asst Lord, come to the aid of Your people. You once called Simon, the fisherman, to catch men, now summon new workers who will bring the message of salvation to all peoples. You calmed the waves so that Your followers would not be drowned, guard Your Church, protect it from all dangers. You gathered Your scattered flock around Peter after the resurrection, good Shepherd, bring all Your people together as one flock. You sent Paul as apostle to preach the good news to the Gentiles, let the word of salvation be proclaimed to all mankind. You gave the keys of Your kingdom into the hands of Your holy Church, open the gates of that kingdom to all who trusted in Your mercy while on earth.!9

Final Collect and Blessing Oremus. Da nobis, quæsumus, Dómine Deus noster, beatórum apostolórum Petri et Pauli intercessiónibus sublevári, ut, per quos Ecclésiæ tuæ supérni múneris rudiménta donásti, per eos subsídia perpétuæ salútis impéndas. Per Dóminum.. Dominus vobiscum.. Ite in pace.. Deo grátias. Let us pray. Grant, we pray, O Lord our God, that we may be sustained by the intercession of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, that, as through them You gave Your Church the foundations of her heavenly office, so through them You may help her to eternal salvation. Through our Lord.. The Lord be with you.. And with your spirit. Bow down for the blessing. May almighty God bless you, for he has made you steadfast in Saint Peter s saving confession and through it has set you on the solid rock of the Church s faith. And having instructed you by the tireless preaching of Saint Paul, may God teach you constantly by his example to win brothers and sisters for Christ. So that by the keys of St. Peter and the words of St. Paul, and by the support of their intercession, God may bring us happily to that homeland that Peter attained on a cross and Paul by the blade of a sword. And may the blessing of almighty God, the Father, and the son, and the Holy Spirit, come down on you and remain with you for ever.. Go in peace.. Thanks be to God.!10
