This is why you must now know, and fix in your heart, that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no other. You must keep his statutes and commandments that I enjoin on you today, that you and your children after you may prosper, and that you many have long life on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you forever.

CELEBRATION FOR RAIN MASS: All the parishes of Wichita County are invited to attend a mass on Wednesday, June 3 rd at 6:30pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace to celebrate the thanksgiving of rain. ATTENTION FATHER PAUL DEUTSCH VOCATION CHALICE: The Vocation Chalice is committed to an active spirit of continual prayer by our parishioners. The program involves parish households in praying for strengthening men and women to serve thru marriage, the single life, the diaconate, priest-hood and consecrated life. Each weekend at Saturday and Sunday Masses, a household is presented with the chalice and prayer notebook. You take it home and put it in a place of honor, where each day of the week the household prays designated prayers for increase in vocations to the priesthood, religious life and professional lay ministry in the church. Father Richard names the chalice the Father Paul Deutsch because he grew up in the St. Jude Parish Family and became a priest. We hope you will sign up soon to host the chalice in your home. After the first time you host the Chalice, you will receive a Gift, a Blessing Cup and a booklet with 16 meditations for family celebration from the Vocations Committee. 4 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, It is truly a joy that I received the news from Bishop Michael Olson of my new assignment as your Parochial Administrator. I am coming to you from Immaculate Conception parish in Denton, Texas. I have heard so many wonderful things about you from Fathers Hoa Nguyen and Richard Kirkham, and I am happy to get to know you soon. Here are the some facts about me: 1. I was born on December 24, 1984 in Saigon, Vietnam. 2. My priestly ordination was on June 29, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. 3. I immigrated to the United States in 1994; grew up in Wichita, Kansas; moved to Texas in 2002 after high school and joined the Redemptorists (C.Ss.R.) for five years; and started formation for the Diocese of Fort Worth in I am the oldest child. My parents still live in Wichita, Kansas, and I have a younger brother who was born in I have a little dachshund. Her name is Joy. 6. Vietnamese is my first language, English is my second, and Spanish is my third. I can understand some Italian and have basic reading skill in Korean. I like to learn about different cultures. 7. I like to watch movies, read or write on my free time and day off from ministry. 8. I like to cook and spend time around the dining table with good friends. 9. I like to laugh and pretty easygoing. Laughter is a free and wonderful gift for all! 10. My priestly ordination motto is: Behold, I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. (Luke 1:38) I want you to know that my heart is committed to you and hope to learn much from you. We are here to help each other grow in our Catholic faith and strengthen our spiritual communion as the Mystical Body of Christ. Faith is a life-long journey, and Christian discipleship consists of the daily exodus in choosing to leave behind our comforts to find the presence of God in the present moment. We cannot do it alone, and that is why we need each other! I hope we can be there for one another as we help each other grow in the love that God has for us.
