2 SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT DECEMBER 6, 2015 New Parishioners: To register call the parish office and request a parish registration form or download our parish registration form from our website at or fill out the Quick Registration below. Baptisms: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated the third Sunday of each month after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. At least one parent or guardian must be (or become) a regular attending member of OLG parish. Non-parishioners who wish to have their child baptized here must provide a letter from their pastor. Parents and Godparents are required to attend a baptism class. (Visitors may attend class at their home parish). We offer the class the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Catholic Life Center or by appointment. Godparents must be at least 16 years old, confirmed Catholics, who practice the faith. At least one Godparent is needed. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick: Those who are seriously ill should be given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick as soon as possible. Communal celebrations are held during Advent and Lent. Sacrament of First Holy Communion: The First Communion program of OLG parish is now be a 2-year program (1st and 2nd grades). Please contact Kathleen LeBlanc for info or questions. Sacrament of Marriage: Arrangements for weddings must be made at least six months ahead of time. A pre-marriage preparation program and individual counseling with the parish priest are required for all. House Calls: Please notify the parish office of the names of any who desire to receive Holy Communion, the Sacrament of the Sick or the Sacrament of Reconciliation at home. St. Joseph Perpetual Adoration Chapel: We welcome you to visit our chapel as a guest or a committed adorer. Call the parish office for questions or to sign up for an hour. St. Mary Cemetery: A sacred enclosure to receive those who have lived within the faith. For information or questions, call Joe Monti at Continuing the Church: Please remember Our Lady of the Gulf Parish and its schools in your will. What s Happening OLG Ladies Prayer Group will meet Monday, December 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Center. The group meets the first Monday of every month. We invite and encourage the ladies of our parish to attend. OLG Angel Ministry Blanket Group will meet on Wednesday, December 9th from 1:00 3:00 p.m. in the Parish Community Center to make blankets for the seriously ill and homebound. BAMBINELLI SUNDAY BLESSING OF THE CHRIST CHILD Every year on the Third Sunday of Advent, families gather in St. Peter s Square in Rome for Bambinelli Sunday.Children and adults bring with them the figures of the Christ Child, the Bambinelli, from their family Nativity scene. During the Angelus prayer the Pope blesses the people and the figurines they have brought. Fr. Mike and Fr. Adam will give this same special blessing at all Masses on Sunday, December 13th. Children and adults, we encourage you to bring the Baby Jesus from your Nativity to Mass with you on this day! The OLG Youth Group will be available in the back of church after the blessing at each Sunday Mass to wrap your Baby Jesus so that this most special gift can then be placed under your tree to be the first gift opened before all other gifts on Christmas morning! Then place the newborn Baby Jesus in his manger for all to adore! The purpose of PRE Camp is to provide a fun, safe, and friendly opportunity for prospective students to meet and interact with current students and faculty and to find out what it s like to be a Rock-A-Chaw!
