Grave Mode. Psalm 63.11,1 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord. Verse: Oh God, hear my cry. The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 4:22-27 Brethren, Abraham had two sons, one by a slave and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, the son of the free woman through promise. Now this is an allegory: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written, "Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not in travail; for the children of the desolate one are many more than the children of her that is married."

Πρὸς Γαλάτας 4:22-27 τὸ ἀνάγνωσμα είναι απο Ἀδελφοί, Ἀβραὰμ δύο υἱοὺς ἔσχεν ἕνα ἐκ τῆς παιδίσκης, καὶ ἕνα ἐκ τῆς ἐλευθέρας. Ἀλλʼ ὁ μὲν ἐκ τῆς παιδίσκης κατὰ σάρκα γεγέννηται, ὁ δὲ ἐκ τῆς ἐλευθέρας διὰ τῆς ἐπαγγελίας. Ἅτινά ἐστιν ἀλληγορούμενα αὗται γάρ εἰσιν δύο διαθῆκαι μία μὲν ἀπὸ ὄρους Σινᾶ, εἰς δουλείαν γεννῶσα, ἥτις ἐστὶν Ἅγαρ. The Gospel According to Luke 5:1-11 GOSPEL READING At that time, as Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, he saw two boats by the lake; but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had ceased speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." And Simon answered, "Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets." And when they had done this, they enclosed a great shoal of fish; and as their nets were breaking, they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." For he was astonished, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; henceforth you will be catching men." And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Church Bookmobile St. Nicholas Bookmobile is adding many new items for sale. You may purchase items after Liturgy on Sunday or by talking to Elaine Manneh at cell or house at Church Library A church library is now available in the church office. You may borrow books for a period of three weeks. Please write your name and telephone number on the library card. Consider sharing your reading in the bulletin. Children's books are available for borrowing in the Sunday School trailer. St. Nicholas Cookbook Our St. Nicholas cookbook is now available for sale. Copies are in the church office. 10 WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN MY LIFE BY: ROSEMARY GEORGIOU Judge Not -- Love One Another I really considered myself a God fearing, God loving, good Christian woman. I loved people, had no problem getting along with people. I was never prejudice. I was a Latino woman who had been married to a African American man, and now I was married to a Greek man. I had absolutely no problem with ethnicity. But I did have a problem with Gays, Lesbians, transsexuals whatever they called themselves, I had a big problem with them! I had the idea that they had made a choice. But, then one day God spoke to me. He said, if you love Me and want to know Me, then you Rosemary, must learn to love all your brothers and sisters and leave the judging to Me! It would be a matter of three weeks for me to learn a most daunting lesson! The first week I went to the mall on a Saturday, to get my nails done. My husband and I had an event that night. I went to nail salon and asked if someone could do my nails. The receptionist immediately called for Michelle, to see if she had an opening. Michelle responds right away. She comes to the front desk to let me know that she has an opening in half an hour. As I looked at Michelle, I was shocked. Michelle was half man, half woman! He was in transition. I was in such astonishment, that I found myself stiff and just shaking my head and saying ok, to the appointment which was in half an hour. I left the salon and walked in the mall in total bewilderment, wondering if I should just leave or wait and go back. I m not even sure why I was even debating this situation, any other time I would have just left, no question about it, I would have just gone home! But today it was different. At threethirty, my appointment time, I was back at the salon and Michelle was ready for me. As she\he takes my hands, I felt uneasy. It s so personal, but her touch was gentle. As Michelle gets into my manicure, she does most of the talking. Michelle gives me the dos and don ts of nails, which is fine with me. Towards the end I find myself talking to Michelle about God. I can t help but feel that I witnessed to Michelle, but Michelle witnessed to me in a different sense. I had one of the most gentle and surprisingly pleasant manicures ever. I even took Michelle s card. The next incident was the following week. I really needed my hair trim and as I had just found out my hairdresser would be gone for two weeks on vacation. I decided to go to one of the noappointment necessary shops that was near my house. I went to the shop and asked if there was anyone available to do my hair. It was just a trim, so I wasn t too worried about them messing up my hair. Out came this man, and I m one who is pretty naïve when it comes to gender disorder, but

11 even I could tell that he was surely gay. The girl at the front desk tells me he s the only one available, his name is Miguel. With much hesitation, I agree to let him cut my hair. He takes me in and wants to shampoo me. I agree but I have an attitude. As he shampoos my hair, the first thing I notice is he s very gentle. I notice this because my regular hairdresser is very rough. He starts my cut and he does fine. I don t speak to him, but only to warn him, that I don t want too much cut off! He s very quiet so he doesn t make any conversation or say anything. When he finishes he gives me a mirror to make certain that I like what he s done. I did like it and he was very gracious and extremely gentle, again something that my regular hairdresser is not. I thanked him and gave him a nice tip. My third lesson came about two weeks later, one day around noon time. I had dropped off the kids at school, ran some errands, had come home and picked-up the house a bit, when I suddenly hear a grumbling noise coming from my stomach. I m really hungry! It was noon and time for me to eat something. I fixed myself a little lunch and decided to eat it in front of the TV. As I flipped through the channels I stopped at a talk program that caught my attention, for some reason. It was about family members being gay. Speaking was a mother, saying how her sixteen-year-old son, had jumped off a bridge and killed himself because he was gay. As I sat there and watched this mother with tears rolling down her cheeks, saying this about her son, I thought, how can someone choose this life style, if it s so painful? I d always had the believe that homosexuality had been a choice. A choice to be who they wanted to be. This moment changed forever the way I looked at this group of people. I felt like God was saying to me Rosemary, they are your brothers and sisters. They are for you to love them and not to judge them. I don t understand many things, why they are the way they are, but I do know one thing, God is Love, and if I love God, I must love. To Love when it is the most difficult is the most meaningful Love. 1 John 2:10 The one who loves his brother abides (lives) in the light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another for love is from God, and everyone who loves is b born of God and knows God. Our small stories make a big impact on the lives of others and bring us closer to one another.
