This South Wales choir in fact has a long history of competition successes, and can claim to be the only Welsh choir to have scored a remarkable double victory at the 1991 Concorso Internazionale Di Canto Corale, a prestigious festival held in Verona and taking in 20 top choirs from 6 countries. A further invitation to the festival for the Bridgend Male Choir came in April 2003 and resulted in an award of another silver cup, for the quality of the Choir's male voice singing. It then reached the semi final of the 2008 Radio Cymru Andante Competition. The Choir has enjoyed success at the Majestic Competition in Torquay's International Centre in early 2010 with a further appearance at Torquay in Spring 2013 when it came second.
